PR ta just put a bid on one on EBay going for silly money!

We're off to Centre Parcs tomo with my sister and kids, cousin and family. It'll be a total rabble as the kids are 4, 3, 2, 1 and 4 months! J has got his Dad's man flu Confused and slept 15 hours last night until nearly 10am. Then napped for an hour at midday and again now for an hour! I guess someone's going to have to miss the pool for a few days. Hopefully he'll be sleepy at bedtimes so DH and I can go out whilst we have baby sitters!

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 17:11

We have a cheap shit mandolin which scares the crap out of me. That one looks good but gets dreadful reviews. You still have all your fingers pr?

StormyIsles · 26/01/2014 17:20

So my dad hasn't bothered cooking anything for m because "babies just drink milk, eh?"

He invited us for dinner. Was appalled when I cut some of mine up onto a plate for m. This and other stories...

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 17:22

Hang on. Mine has a whatsit to protect fingers. Not quite the same.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 17:24

I suspect some people are divvies as well.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 17:25

I share that suspicion. this is more like it.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 17:26

isles he would have been equally appalled then had he seen p eat whole garlic and a massive chunk of blue cheese which she swiped off my plate.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 17:29

Like people who need warned that packets of peanuts contain peanuts and that cruise control does not allow you to sit in the back seat

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 17:40

Or the fact that you guys are not trusted to give medication properly. That really winds me up.

Lily311 · 26/01/2014 18:05

Cheap ski jackets and trousers from h&m! That's what i saw.

Operation duvet was a massive fail in one way but success in another at lunch time. She was on top of it when I went in but slept for 2.5 hours. Trying tonight again.

Zamboni · 26/01/2014 18:08

sophia do you have a TK Maxx? Fab for ski wear. You have to rummage but decent branded and non-branded stuff. Aldi are also known to do decent stuff on promotion but I've not used it and you prob need to get there on day 1 to get the choice. Otherwise there is supposedly a lot on eBay.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 18:08

Or sophia look on the Decathlon website. You may well be able to pick up cheap ski stuff there (tis the sales) . Happy to order and post or I am just four hours from Calais for a stopover.

PurplePidjin · 26/01/2014 18:14

I love Decathlon, was thrilled when one opened near me :o

I'm not coping. I just managed to microwave the leftover mash, then the butter, before finally managing to heat my dinner (they're all in butter tubs) Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 18:18

You have Decathlon over there? Compare prices with France before buying. Use your French connection(s)

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 18:20

pass my gastroenterologist says that garlic, onions and spices are v good for the digestive system. If P loves garlic that is a good thing.

PurplePidjin · 26/01/2014 18:24

I'm too fat for French Connection Wink

Apparently garlic wards off colds

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 18:32

I am so tempted but have never done a proper garlic soup. One with several bulbs.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 19:22

Ladies and Luis I have spent over 6 years trying to perfect my French onion soup.

Tonight I nailed it. Took almost 3 hours. But I got there. I will share my recipe for the ultimate onion soup to those who request it. I spent years in Paris trawling restaurants to find the best. Then spent years trying to find an equivalent out here. And the best onion soup in the area is in Germany.

But the mish mash I have been working towards in my own kitchen has been perfected. Both kids had seconds. I don't want to boast but....

I have been trying and failing for years. YEARS. And nailed it.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 19:29

I would love to hear the recipe pr! I have only ever had French onion soup once and it was in a cafe in the Lake District. It was predictably awful

YellowWellies · 26/01/2014 19:31

Woo yes PR I've only ever cooked Nigel Slater's cheats version where you slow bake the onions in the oven first. Would love the recipe for my post weaning binge Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 19:31

Ok will write it up tomorrow. Tis a mix of Delia, Joanne Harris and a lazy shortcut (stock cubes).

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 19:33

There's 50g of butter in mine yw used to fry the onions. Other than that I cut out the cheese completely. Much better without (yes, I was furious too)

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 19:33

Could be replaced by marge is what I mean.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 19:36

Went shopping yesterday and bought myself a couple of frocks in New Look. Thanks to their sale and a student discount (post grad I never finished) I got two dresses for £16! I am rocking this at the moment. It is fab for hiding Sunday lunch tummies

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 19:36

Bit of vitalite would work
