Still, at least dh and I had 2 minutes (literally - he had just got in) before I left for the floor. Hotel night excepting, it has been 12 days since we slept in the same bed.

LuisCarol · 26/01/2014 01:48

hey bplp.

Pikz · 26/01/2014 07:26

Luis and piggy. Can I make you some breakfast?

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 08:32

Full English fry up being cooked up here including fried bread and stuffed mushrooms. Have been craving a full English for days.

Sophiathestormfairy · 26/01/2014 08:48

Fling one over pr

I am at SILS. I came over yesterday afternoon for my reflexology and homeopathy (she is a homeopath and reflexologist) and stayed over ( is an hour away). Reflexology was amazeballs. And she is not sure I need a remedy to balance myself at the mo thinks I am quite healthy and doing ok. So that is good.

Anyway I now have that thing where I have a lie in till8:00, that it a mOnster lie in for me but she, who has no children, is still asleep. So what do you do In Other peoples houses when that happens? I am in bed reading and stuff but am STARVING.

I always like the idea of having a night away on my own but I miss them all desperately and hate sleeping without DH.

StormyIsles · 26/01/2014 08:53

I have an infected eye lid. It looks like I've been punched Confused

Sophiathestormfairy · 26/01/2014 09:18

Oh dear. Sore. Don't rub stormy xx

Thechick · 26/01/2014 11:13

Thought the education chat was interesting. My 14 yr old is in a school that I didn't want him to go to but he wanted to go there and it was a new school so had no results. He's doing well but no thanks to the school. It's quite a mixed school and I think a lot of the teachers don't believe the children are going to do well so treat them as such which is disgusting really.

Bplp not sure what to say about your mil, but my mum doesn't listen to me either. She thinks she knows best. But I could start a thread about my mum. She can be amazing but can be quite difficult and likes to be in control al the time.

Sophia, sounds interesting about the Times. There seems to be a lot around about sugar at the mo. I thnk they have a pay wall on their website so can't check it out on line. Boo

Stunt both my parents are from Guyana, have you ever been and I always thought that fructose was better than processed sugar, i mean with enough of it, it will do damage like with anything else though. Will have to do more investigating. Oh and my boobs went back to pre pregnancy.

We had our first steps the other night. Woo

Morning thread

This morning I am nursing a monster hangover, been sick three times already Sad

Currently on the brink of a panic attack and doing my best to stay calm, forgot how horrible these things feel

Hope everyone else feels fab

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 11:21

Morning!

Ouch to eyelid isles

chick self-fulfilling prophecy. Teachers should be able to look beyond a person's frontage. That's what we are supposed to be trained for. There is nothing more powerful, however, than a shared belief of worthlessness.

Things have become much easier here since p could point bp. This morning she came and essentially asked me to shift some cushions so she could get onto a chair. She grabs bedtime bunny and, if available, night time dummy and brings them smwhen she she is sleepy, points at the kitchen when hungry and so on. However, being able to say "my teeth hurt so all I fancy is a slice of toast for tea, thanks" would make life lots easier.

The bouncy one is currently back in bed having slept from 7pm to 8:30am. It was a struggling to get her to 11am actually. So strange.

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 11:26

Panic attack fatima Sad I hope you feel better really soon. Can you get a hold of some dioralyte? It's good for rehydration from alcohol

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 12:07

After a fry up for breakfast and cheese fondue for lunch am off to have a nap. French onion soup tonight with salad. All -my our favourites on our anniversary.

Flowers fatima I had the most awful hangover one day when DD1 was about 6mo. She chose that day to be a screamy whingy nightmare. It was a never again hangover. I am v careful when I drink nowadays as the consequences scare the bejeezus out of me. Cold full fat coke if you have any in and can keep it down.

Lily311 · 26/01/2014 12:15

fatima hope you are ok. Leo had a couple as well, they were horrendous. Breathing and distracting helped.

O doesn't like the feeling of the snow. She thinks it's cold. She touches it, licks it, than screams. I mean she knows it's cold but still trying. Grrr. Sledging was a disaster, she fall face down it was hilarious and did not want to get on it again. I took pictures, she looked mega cute. No snowmen, it's the wrong kind of snow, you can't even form a ball.

I just received a duvet for her and she has been asleep for 2 hours. I thinks she is ready for the transition. Those of you who have duvets, do you tuck them between the cot bars and mattress? And if yes, did you take of the cot bumper? I think I take off the bumper, she doesn't really need it now. It's the breathable one.

Lots of things to sort out, I gave myself two weeks to get up to date with the flat and than need to study again. Built in wardrobe supposed to arrive on Friday, I can't wait. I will have drawers for my shoes, lovely.

Also need a drill. But is it worth buying it?

Zamboni · 26/01/2014 12:37

Lily I asked that a while back. The consensus was no, don't tuck it in . S is in cot bed, with pillow and duvet totally loose. No bumper. He's always at the top of the cot with the duvet no higher than his neck. For the admittedly limited time he spends in the cot. But he copes fine with my duvet in with me too. When they are ready they are ready.

Fatima - hope it was a good night.

Leftover dominos for my lunch!

ValiumQueen · 26/01/2014 13:13

Yep no tucking, so they can fight free if they wriggle under.

I could happily run away today. They are at the stage of naughtiness post illness. And with the three of them on the go, it is hard going. And I am so tired. 15 months of practically no sleep is a joke. There was one week post-Omeprazole-initiation when he slept through, but one of the others was ill, then they all slept Christmas Eve. And before that an odd night here and there.

Today I am giving 20mg Omeprazole with his tea.

ValiumQueen · 26/01/2014 13:15

Lily none of mine like the snow. I used to love it when I was little. I remember being out as long as I could, and thawing my hands on the radiator. I used to cry with the pain, but I would be out again as soon as I could.

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/01/2014 13:31

fatima I'll join you in the hungover camp. DD1 just had a massive melt down about nothing. Been a long time since she's had one of those. I've never had a panic attack but it sounds horrid. I'm not going to drink again for a while. Just completely wipes out the weekend. I am literally counting down the minutes till the girls bed time.

Will catch up properly later when more with it!

StormyIsles · 26/01/2014 13:44

Lily I am sure you could get a cheap drill of amazon or something.

M doesn't get her duvet tucked in and is good at pulling it back up if she kicks it off. Since giving her one her sleep has improved massively - 13hrs last night!!

Boo to hangovers. I cannot handle alcohol at all since having m, I use to be able to drink a box of wine in one sitting as a student!

Panic attacks sound horrid. I get really panicky when I am being sickHmm

as well as looking horrific with no make up and a puffy eye, I need to brave taking m to see my dad today. Why did I ever agree to this?!

ChasingDaisy · 26/01/2014 14:19

Afternoon all,

Sorry, haven't been able to catch up yet have been in a love bubble all weekend but have skim read and wanted to check in.

Fatima, I am also nursing a sore head this morning and have suffered numerous panic attacks in my life - quite a few recently for some reason. I actually had a horrible one in Tesco a couple of weeks ago. As Lily said, breathing and distraction help. Rehydration will almost certainly help as well.

O is still in a sleeping bag but I am thinking of transitioning to a pillow and duvet soon.

I think I also need to get O fitted for his first pair of shoes. He is just starting to find his feet now and is the only one at toddler group without them.

GTbaby · 26/01/2014 14:37

Sry all I do is dip in and out ATM

Zamboni feeding is going well Grin now having the opp thoughts to before, rather then "just get to xyz" it's when shall I end but in a nice way.
There seems to be times ppl finish 6weeks, 4months, 6months 9months 1year iykwim. I think 6month mark is my happy point as 9 months will be going back to work time.
But I am concerned about weaning on to food and off boob at same time. Not sure how to play it. Any tips? Also to go cold turkey or to switch gradually, if latter over what period of time.
Sry to go on about this topic! FH is pro ff (as it will lead to perfect sleep!) so need you guys to sound it out with.

Stunt dont know if mil wants me to stop. Everything she's ever said has been pro bf so don't know why she would want me to stop? So she can be more involved? Maybe she wants him in a fixed routine as well?

VQ for the record, I was very determined to bf this time. But BUT BUT the one concession I allowed my self was to quit guilt free if I had to cut out dairy/egg/etc out of my diet. Couldn't do it. Those of you have cut out foods are super stars in my eyes.

Chasing woop woop

Right I've got ironing to do before H wakes up and makes it impossible/dangerous.

FatimaLovesBread · 26/01/2014 14:45

Thanks everyone. I get more panicky as I feel like death, then I think it's only a hangover I'm not going to die, which must trigger the death thoughts so I start to panic which makes you feel worse. A vicious cycle. I managed to breathe through it and distract myself.
We've come up to my sister as I thought getting out of the house would make me feel better, also had a sausage buttie and I'm feeling much better.

It was a very good night Grin but I won't be drinking again for a while.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/01/2014 16:32

Am not one to massively race about kitchen appliances but I have no idea how I survived without this mandoline before today.

Sophiathestormfairy · 26/01/2014 16:41

pikz or anyone else in the know where do you get your kids skiwear from? We have put skiing on hold while we had the boys and think we might get started again next year, I'm musing on getting some bits this year in the sales for them but where is the best place to look?

Passmethecrisps · 26/01/2014 17:05

P ate a whole roasted garlic clove at lunch. I tried fishing it put but she went back to get it. I am irrationally concerned about this
