blizy - I'm sorry. Sad How are you feeling?

reastie - yes FIL is still here. Angry I nearly slapped him yesterday over lunch - clearly he didn't realise the golden rule in our house is don't mess me about when I'm hungry. DH says he's leaving tomorrow but I won't believe it until I see the back of him. He said he would watch L if DH and I wanted to go out Friday night but he was very clearly drunk. Hmm

PonyoLovesHam · 14/04/2014 14:35

I'm sorry blizy. What a week (plus) of waiting you've had, just to get this shitty news.

American what did fil do? HmmTo him offering to have L but it probably not happening, that's even worse than not offering at all.

americanexpat · 14/04/2014 15:05

It's probably a bit anti-climatic, I can get a bit unreasonable when I'm hungry and dieting. We'd be planning to go out for lunch, originally agreed noon but L was grumpy so we said we'd go after L had a short nap. Around 1:30, we all agreed we were hungry so we'd wake L. So we woke him, got him ready to go, asked FIL if he was ready and he replied, "A little notice would've been appreciated. I still have to shower!" Shock You mean the previous three hours wasn't enough notice? It's lucky L was there or he would've gotten an earful. Grin DH also pointed out how much I've been going to the gym since FIL arrived. Grin

PonyoLovesHam · 14/04/2014 15:13

ShockShock What on earth...!!! American that is so annoying. And I get so angry when I'm hungry, I would have stomped off without him haha. I'm angry for you Grin

americanexpat · 14/04/2014 15:24

I did very nearly stomp off. I was in the kitchen taking deep breaths while DH dealt with the situation. Grin

wigglesrock · 14/04/2014 15:27

blizy I'm sorry xx

RobinSparkles · 14/04/2014 20:15

I'm so sorry Blizy xx

American I admire your patience, I really do! I would be going down for murder. I'm a ratty bitch at the best of times. Don't know how DH copes with me, TBH.

Reastie · 15/04/2014 07:46

blizy I'm so sorry, I just don't know what to say. xx

American that too is an absolute golden rule in our house! There must be alot of tongue biting going on there, but, silver lining and all that - more gym visits can't be bad Wink . How is the weight loss going? I'm putting ON weight now despite no huge diet changes from my regular diet and I'm still working out. Can't even maintain Confused and don't know why. Am starting a new workout program in the hope it's just my body used to insanity after over 9 months of it. Shame as I really liked it.

Ponyo I had password reset issues too, ended out taking me a couple of days to finally be logged back in now.

FIL is gone. Easter Grin

reastie - weight loss going ok, only lost a pound the first week. The two weeks before AF (so half the month then Easter Hmm I'm absolutely starving and a bit bloated so I'll probably drop a couple pounds when AF arrives at the weekend. I have a lovely Boden dress picked out after I've lost a bit of weight. Easter Grin Yes, maybe try another workout for a while. You're probably not working as hard after 9 months. I started an indoor cycling class last week to keep things interesting, maybe I'll try Insanity when I need a change again.

Robin - hello fellow ratty bitch. Easter Grin

Grannyapple · 16/04/2014 20:35

Just saw this...so sorry blizy..get back on that wagon tho & hoping to see some fab news for you very very soon xxx

wigglesrock · 20/04/2014 07:25

Morning Smile. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend & enjoying as much sun as we are Shock

All good here - girls finished school on Thursday for just over a week so are mooching about revelling in the decent weather. Mr W is working a lot, so we haven't really seen him in about 4 days. He downloaded a film/ tv sharing site onto the kindles so I have spent the past week finally watching stuff I'd missed first time around. Having a bit of a Matthew McConnaghy fest - going to start True Detective tonight after loving the Dallas Buyers Club.

Now how many of the girls eggs can I snaffle before they wake up

americanexpat · 21/04/2014 18:54

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter. The weather was amazing so we had an egg hunt in the back garden. DH and I had mimosas for brunch which necessitated an afternoon nap for me. Grin

blizy - how are you feeling?

RobinSparkles · 27/04/2014 21:43

Hi!

This dropped off "Threads I'm On" list so thought I'd do a quick post so that I can keep up to date with everybody :).

Hope you're feeling ok Blizy.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter! We still have a cupboard full of Easter Eggs and I'm quite proud of myself for not scoffing them all :o.

L started her 15 hours at nursery over Easter and after a few mornings of being distraught at being left there she's really settling in and enjoying it.

We moved house last year so I left my little school dinner time job and after months of uming and ahing at what I'm going to do for work, I think I've decided to go back to childminding Confused. It's been a few years since I've done it so Blizy any tips will be welcome! :o

My beautiful, new house will be trashed!

americanexpat · 29/04/2014 14:42

I think it's only us these days, Robin. Grin Good luck with childminding, yes your house will be trashed!

Potty training is making me stabby. L does great at nursery but I've lost count of the number of times the sofa has been weed on at home. [sigh]

blizy · 29/04/2014 16:01

You brave, brave woman robin Grin! I would invest in a sound proof box, joking kind of. I won't be of much use to you as here we don't follow the EYFS, you should check out some CM forums for advice.

American, don't stress about potty training, he will click with it eventually.

I'm doing ok, I had a wobble on Friday, my GP called to check on me and I had to ring the EPU to tell them I finally got a BFN. I think it all hit home then. It's magic time end of week/weekend so Dh and I have booked a wee cheeky night away at the coast. I had an early finish today as the school are doing a show later, so I'm off to Tesco, I'm so rock and roll these daysWink.

americanexpat · 30/04/2014 16:22

blizy - I'm sorry, seeing the negative is a bit shit, isn't it? Enjoy your weekend [nudge nudge wink wink]. Grin

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2014 17:27

Enjoy your weekend Blizy. I remember my -ve test after mc and it was horrible. I'm so sorry, I hope you're ok.

I didn't realise that you didn't have to do EYFS stuff in Scotland. I remember it all from last time I was a CM but I'm wondering if all the rules have changed. I've booked on to a briefing session for 13th May but I'm waiting to hear if there are places on it.

wigglesrock · 30/04/2014 20:38

Robin Crayola on walls Smile. It'll be grand! We haven't been so diligent with the not eating the Easter eggs Blush

americanexpat honestly don't worry too much about the weeing on the sofa, well apart from the sofa. Olivia would still have me wipe her bum if I hadn't told her to catch herself on.

blizy hope your night away goes swimmingly xxx

All good here, still basking in what is unheard of good weather! Summer dresses in school this week Shock . Anna is great - still loading it over the house, she really does think she belongs in a house with staff. The girls finish school at the end of June & we're away on holiday at the beginning of July so we are all in summery form. Am ignoring the fact that I've a "big" birthday in June

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2014 21:50

Wiggles! My walls are white!!! Shock L keeps drawing on my windowsills with biro. It's my own fault for keep leaving them out. If you ever need to get pen off painted wood then hairspray is your friend!

American, it's so frustrating when they have accidents but it won't be forever. I keep a good stock of febreeze!

Ledkr · 01/05/2014 22:31

Place marking really. In a rush but nothing to say. Boring old cow.

PonyoLovesHam · 02/05/2014 15:21

Hello everyone.

American how are you getting on? We were lucky with wee but had a fair few 'poo in knickers' incidents when A was potty training, tbh these we're probably easier to deal with because I just chucked poo and pants in the bin! Wee on sofa a bit harder to deal with.

Blizy enjoy your weekend. Grin At wiggles "swimmingly" jokeGrin

All is well here. A already has friendship dramas at pre school, usually involving who gets to play at being Elsa in frozen or who has a pink hair bobble Hmm

The pil are here and stressing me Confused they are kindly painting some of our house to put on the market but boy, it's a stress.
Also, mil asked dp in all seriousness if he supports ukip Confused I joked they would probably have him deported if they got in, but it actually upset him and he told me a load of horrible and racist stuff she said to him when he was young. The woman is toxic. We've agreed A won't be spending any time with them alone when she's older, just with us there too. I'm not having mil denting A's confidence especially when she's an emotionally fragile teenager!

Our house will be online in 2 weeks hopefully, so I can put a link if any of you nosy lot want a look Wink

americanexpat · 02/05/2014 15:56

Robin - best get painting! To be fair, we have white-ish walls and L hasn't drawn on them but they're grubby. He did manage to get a hold of a permanent marker and decorate the toilet seat. Hmm

wiggles - I'm really mourning my sofa, it's not even two years old fgs. He's doing better as long as we take him to the toilet at regular intervals, still not great at telling us he needs to go. But my sofa! [weeps]

Ledkr · 02/05/2014 19:55

Ello ello.
She sounds a bloody loon ponyo mine are a bit more tolerable nowadays! they are coming down soon for us to go to a local festival mad looking after the girls one night so we can get pissed. The rest of the weekend they are joining us but I'm not sure they are ready for me and Getorf drinking and smoking our heads off whilst wearing onsies and dancing to the levellers.
Ella has been pretty poorly with horrendous migraines, I've got an appointment to take her to a neurologist soon. However after two pretty back to back one she got her first af then the headache went so fingers crossed.
It's a bit weird here with all these new developments particularly as my af no longer visits since my operation.
I had to dig out a few and told her that I don't have them anymore to which my stroppy teen said "you are just showing off"
All I can say is wiggles watch out Grin

americanexpat · 02/05/2014 22:23

Ponyo - I cross posted with you earlier but Shock at your MIL. Your poor DP. And of course we want a nosy at your house. Grin

ledkr - Grin at showing off.

RobinSparkles · 03/05/2014 17:24

Ledkr I can't believe that E is a teenager! Where does the bloody time go?!? Shock How old was she when our AN thread was going - 9? It's scary! Migraines sound horrendous, poor Ella.

Ponyo they start so early with their friendship dramas. :o
What a horror your MIL sounds, I don't blame you for not leaving A alone with her.

American our last sofa was two years old and had been trashed with wee, spilled drinks etc. We got a new one when we moved. It's 9 months old and has already been weed on and vomited on etc. We've decided that we'll keep it until the kids are quite grown and then we'll splash out on a dream sofa. It's so frustrating having children sometimes!
