Hey all. Thnks for the advice on quick milk drinking and boob changes. I think I'm back to pre pregnancy boob size.

I'm trying to catch up but never seem to have the time.

Ummm, H has eight teeth and has another 7 growing and 3 of those are (pre?) molars!! He doesn't drink from a bottle, has his milk and water in a sippy cup.

I've just started giving him milk since stopping bf 6weeks ish ago. It's a completely different experience to me feeding him. He fights and fights sleep. It takes about 20 mins of rocking. Dh has had to take over a couple of times because he's just not going. We do need to teach him to self settle but I'm not sure when. He sleeps through every night. But it's just the initial going to sleep bit.

Oh I've been listening to Alphabutt by Kimya Dawson with H. It's kind of a fun take on typical children's songs. I love it. It's probably not everyone's taste, it's quite folky and a little bit political but fun. Check it out.

StormyIsles · 14/01/2014 12:49

I went into work this morning to find an email notifying me of a VERY nice pay rise ShockGrin

StuntNun · 14/01/2014 12:52

Have you tried spray-on plaster Sophia? It stings when you apply it, but it would cover the raw wound while it heals.

I need to study. I have to study. Why can't I focus on it??

My SIl took O to the zoo afterall, I told her that I wanted her to change the car seats. We shall see. O was in my nephew's car seat which I don't trust either. O wasn't very confident, on all pictures she seems to suck her thumb and hug her cuddly toy. I'm feeling bad.

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/01/2014 13:11

zamboni that's what E had. Has taken a week so far for her to get over it. I reckon she will be back to her normal self in a day or 2. Hopefully you'll be back fighting fit in a day or 2 yourself.

And pr sorry to hear of poorly wows in the petite household too.

You've all inspired me to start making home made soup. Have been thinking about it for ages as it will be about the one thing that we will all be able to have the same of for lunch. I just needed to get my arse into gear. Now I have a new food processor I have no excuse.

fruitpastilles · 14/01/2014 13:17

I also read vulva kyz haha. Doesn't sound very nice at all zamboni hope you feel better soon.
Also hope you and LO feel better too pr although it's always nice to have a duvet day.
Yay to the payrise isles you are clearly already valued there.

Well after getting S back to sleep after her 5:10 wake up, she then slept until 7:45 - she has never ever slept that late in her cot, even when she was a good sleeper. I managed to shower and dry my hair before she woke up.

Have had a houseful today, my cousin and her 2 lo's come round and my 2 friends with their babies aswell. My living room is tiny so I don't know how we all fit. Was like a madhouse, and very noisy. They have just all gone and S doesn't want to have a nap now Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 14/01/2014 13:36

Isles that is great news :)

Fever up again this afternoon and LO is feeling very sorry for herself :(

Zamboni · 14/01/2014 13:53

Great news isles Grin

Had a quick shower and have come downstairs to a wet kitchen and peeling paint on the ceiling. Marvellous. I know the bathroom's plaster under the tiles is wet and needs replacing from when we had the regrouting done last year, so I suspect this is contributing to the problem (but may not be the sole issue). DH and I are incapable of DIY. We have to buy it in. So, idiotic question - do I want a plumber or a builder? Or someone else?

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2014 14:10

Df started taking R while he was still on paternity leave. Just for 20 minutes between feeds for a walk in the sling. He's done up to 4 hours in the day, gets up with him and does breakfast every day for a couple of hours and does bath time every night. He's just as competent as i am, and is equally a parent, so it's never been an issue. My one hard and fast parenting rule is that i won't criticise him for doing things differently. Wrong, yes - but i save that for big things like hanging the laundry up crumpled

I just won the hour long battle to get R to nap in his cot :o bet it only lasts 20 minutes though Hmm

fruitpastilles · 14/01/2014 14:29

S fell asleep in her high chair at 2, she's having 1 more minute then I'm waking her. I don't want to ruin bedtime for tonight.

fruitpastilles · 14/01/2014 14:31

Oh zamboni I wasn't ignoring you, I just don't have a clue either..... I'd say a plumber and a plasterer but I'd only be guessing. We are the same, anything that needs doing here we have to pay someone to do it because we are useless. I bet kyz will know.

Zamboni · 14/01/2014 14:33

Thanks fruit. Yeah kyz if you know based on your DIY skillz...

sebsmummy1 · 14/01/2014 14:34

Just to let you know girls, after banging on about it a few pages back, i go my BFP today (though it is faint so i am tentative).

Im crazy happy and bloody terrified lol

TitsalinaBumSquash · 14/01/2014 14:34

Congrats! Grin Thanks

fruitpastilles · 14/01/2014 14:36

Congratulations sebs x

Lily311 · 14/01/2014 14:39

My sister is awesome. She gave me all her baby clothes for O, and so far she is sorted until the age of 6. She honestly gave me everything, from shoes to expensive coats and so on. So now I have a dilemma. All her kids are my godchildren, the oldest one is turning 8 and she asked for clothes for her birthday (my sis, not my goddaughter). So I bought her a couple and i'm planning to buy more but at the same time I don't want her to think I'm spoiling her. As our budget is usually £10 for birthdays and xmas but I already spent 3 times more of that. how shall I give it to her? Or shall I give them to my sister? I have some nail varnish, necklace, etc for her too. The thing is that the amount of clothes she gave me is worth much more and I know that she could have sold those instead of giving them to O.

Pikz · 14/01/2014 14:54

Zamboni get a plumber first and then a decorator.

Congrats sebs! Grin I'm not jealous not jealous at all!

Hope the afternoon is improving PR

Lily311 · 14/01/2014 14:58

congratulations sebs, awesome news!!

Lily311 · 14/01/2014 15:00

Zamboni, insurance company first? If your contents insurance covers it? My brother had it over xmas and the insurance company came out first, took pictures and they are covering the costs.

Zamboni · 14/01/2014 15:04

Ooooh, good thinking lily.

sebsmummy1 · 14/01/2014 15:05

My brain is imploding with thoughts of double buggies and equipment. My sister leant me all my stuff for DS and has now flogged it all through car booting. So i have bugger all lol

Thechick DS fights and cries his way to sleep, always has done really except for when he bf to sleep when we co-slept. I didn't really question it as i read they have to release a hormone and crying is part of it. My Mum though was quite surprised he doesn't just go to sleep quietly as apparently me and my sister never cried and neither does sister's children Hmm

Lily311 · 14/01/2014 15:11

sebs, ask GT, she is an expert of double buggies and equipments I believe!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/01/2014 15:44

sebs LO was born 19 months after DD1. Haven't needed a double buggy. Leave that til later when you know at what stage Seb, I assume, is at by that time. He might well be walking everywhere or you might manage with his usual buggy plus a sling type thing.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 14/01/2014 16:07

I can't believe so any of you have had are already having babies since the Nov 2012 batch! I must stop telling DP about you all having more now, he's getting very jealous!

I can't imagine having to deal with being pregnant and look after the other 3 atm let alone having a new baby and a 2 yr old! You're very brave ladies. Smile
