Titsalina I am not a spring chicken unfortunately so time is not on my side and I might want three!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 14/01/2014 16:31

I think it's lovely Smile I wish I was brave enough to take the plunge for the fourth and final but I'm really not.

I'm very Envy that you'll get lovely new born snuggles alongside pure, innocent toddler proper snuggles. Grin

ditsygal · 14/01/2014 16:33

Congrats sebsmum thats fab news for you!
I can't believe how many are onto second babies/pregnancies too - I couldn't contemplate it myself - I think you are all superwomen!

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2014 16:51

Tits i went to bf group this morning and could see the new mummies watching R come in for snuggles and thinking "aww" (twas virtually audible!)

R has been walking holding one hand since 10 months. Took his first steps at 11. So why does he still insist on holding a hand at nearly 14?! He'll walk half a mile in one hit slowly but Just Will Not Let Go. Lowers himself to the floor and cries Hmm how do i give him more confidence?

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2014 16:51

Oops Blush congratulations sebsmummy Thanks

flouncymcflouncerson · 14/01/2014 17:31

Congratulations sebsmummy lovely news!

YellowWellies · 14/01/2014 17:32

Isles and Sebsmummy congrats! Fab news.

Zamboni I'd suggest a plasterer then a tiler / decorator?

Lily311 · 14/01/2014 17:48

pidj same here. She holds hands if someone is around but only started to walk inside the house on her own. First only in her room, than In sitting room and yest she went into my bedroom alone. They just need time to gain their confidence, nothing I did helped her, she wasn't ready. She showed my parents her walking skills 2 weeks ago and yest to my brother.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/01/2014 17:50

LO won't walk outside on her own but inside the house won't hold hands.

Zamboni · 14/01/2014 18:59

S won't walk outside - he gets the rage about shoes and wellies - but is very confident at home, nursery and each of his GPs houses.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/01/2014 19:16

Evening.

Pr I hope you and LO are ok. And zamboni with her dangly vulva uvula Grin.

V nice news about the pay rise Isles. Fc the mortgage stuff goes ok too.

Kyz I hope the rat makes a swift recovery. The vetbills soon start to add up don't they!

Zamboni I also have no clue about who to call, but insurers does sound like a v sensible first option.

Another fairly shitty night here, am just sat in the cornerof Fs room whilst sshe struggles to settle. Again. But manages a 2.5hr nap at nursery. Tis a bit of a notvery funny joke.

Passmethecrisps · 14/01/2014 19:28

Massive congrats sebs! Lovely news.

P had her jags today. 3 of them. DH took her. She was very brave apparently but he was totally Hmm about the HV. Apparently she asked three times if p took medication and asked why she wasn't on cow's milk and did DH know that she could have that now? This is the woman I saw monthly for weigh ins due to her reflux. I don't expect her to memorise everything but I might have expected her to read the notes. She also hummed and hawed about whether l could get the jags because of her egg allergy. She called the doc in saying "oh, he's doing nothing anyway".

Anyway. P is asleep now so hopefully she stays that way.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/01/2014 19:28

LO's temp over 39 this evening Hmm and coughing a lot. Has eaten a bit and not throwing up so am assuming still she is fine. I am the same. Not the worst cold by a long way but the cough is pretty horrible. Thanks for asking.

I hope she is well enough to go to nursery tomorrow. She was really sad this evening that I didn't let her get down and play when we went to pick up DD1.

Passmethecrisps · 14/01/2014 19:42

Poor wee sausage pr Sad

I would like advice on getting p to walk holding my hand! She is pretty good at hanging on to DH but she gets bored and races off. I would like to be able to let her walk more as she has such fun but at the moment she is a liability!

BigPigLittlePig · 14/01/2014 19:47

Does she not need a leash set of reins Pass? F is quite determined to walk now, everywhere. She attempted s comedy run after her key worker today.

Oh yes, congrats Sebsmummy!

Baby asleep, stew and dumplings for tea, the only meal we eat on our lap in Pjs in the lounge. Nom.

YellowWellies · 14/01/2014 20:00

I think we must be in a growth spurt - Jonas' appetite was knocked by post jags reflux and teething for much of November and December but today he ate more than me. The wee guy is tiny but he must have hollow legs - he ate an obscene amount!

Today he had for breakfast:

  • 1 crumpet with marge and Marmite, half a variety box of coco pops and the bowl full of coconut milk, a handful of cheerios, and a banana.

For snacks he had:

  • two apples, two boxes of raisins, a massive rice cake, a packet of puffits, two gingernuts, a slice of chorizo, a wholegrain cracker, 3 large organix carrot wotzits.

Lunch was:

  • roasted pepper and tomato soup, half of my sushi box, leftover sausage, pepper and bean cassoulet with mash and a fruitpot.

Tea was:

  • steamed salmon (a whole fillet to himself), fried potatoes, steamed broccoli, roasted veg, 1\3 big tin of sweet corn, a slice of soreen apple cake and a bourbon then he was helping himself to seconds from my plate and his Dads!

Basically if he'd have had a slice of cherry pie he would have been the very hungry caterpillar on a Saturday. I am Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock at how much he can put away when he wants! Today HAS to be a growth spurt!

MsJupiterJones · 14/01/2014 20:04

Pass this may not help but I find L hates me holding his hand but is happy to hang on to mine unless he sees something more interesting.

For those 'Squirrel!' moments we have this: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000YNPH74 which he received as a Christmas present but quite good for independent types!

Pikz · 14/01/2014 20:06

Who weee for Jonas

Due to having a bolter pass we have dinosaur reins! He seems not to mind them

PurplePidjin · 14/01/2014 20:08

Thanks all, sil says her youngest was the same - just wanted to get it right. He's very much the perfectionist at 6 still (as are df and her) so i shall attempt to chill!

Pass reins! R wears his for outside walks even though they're a bit defunct atm. He has tommee tippee ones because they're a padded harness with handle and lead (iyswim) so i can catch him if he either falls or bolts.

YW that's how R eats all the jeffing time Hollow legs, and he only poos about twice a day so there's definitely more going in than coming out! I'm going to need to remortgage once he approaches teenagehood Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 14/01/2014 20:21

Still no walking here at all. I must say I am a little bit relieved! Not least because I haven't had to fork out for shoes yet.

YW Shock That is an astonishing amount of food. O eats relatively little. He has always been the same, even with milk. I still worry that this is due to me under-eating in pregnancy and him therefore being conditioned to not need many calories to thrive. Which makes me worry that he might have issues with obesity in the future as a 'normal' amount of food might cause him to gain a lot of weight.

YellowWellies · 14/01/2014 20:21

Pidj I wondered if that might be normal for some of the bigger babies - I was Shock as his lunch and dinner portions were much more than I would give my four year old nephew; they were those IKEA plastic plates (about the size of an adult side plate) piled high! In the bath he looked like a wee fat Buddha with blonde ringlets. Both DH and I (sadly only until late 20s) could both eat obscene amounts and not put on weight - I wonder if he might have a similar metabolism - but then other days he seems to just live on organix snacks and cherry tomatoes! Confused I hope he keeps troughing as we have the paed next week and it'd be great if he's grown.

YellowWellies · 14/01/2014 20:26

Chasing it's not normal for him - he ate like a porker pre teeth and MMR when his reflux was ok but for weeks (since November) it feels like I've been tempting him to eat and struggling to even get favourite foods in. I think its helping now that he wants to feed himself and we both have a spoon and he isn't fighting my spoon anymore? I dunno. Either way if he keeps eating like that we'll need to remortgage!!!

BigPigLittlePig · 14/01/2014 20:28

Some days F will eat like a pig, others she picks and can't get v much in at all. Since she's walking, she eats more. Chasing, once O starts a-moving and shaking, hemay well eat more. You mustnt worry. I ate v little in pg also, due to high chance of vomming Envy

YellowWellies · 14/01/2014 20:39

Chasing he's clearly thriving (he weighs more than my J I think) so don't worry - he might just have a low appetite naturally - like you he might not be a grazer - that's not a bad thing. And J is cruising but not walking yet too. I'm worrying that J's tummy is going to burst! He's gotta sleep through after that lot surely?????

ChasingDaisy · 14/01/2014 20:39

We do the two spoons trick here too YW Grin today dinner time descended into farce, with O climbing out of his high chair onto the dining table Shock I couldn't help but just laugh!
