We're still in baby grows at bedtime too Pass. His feet are too cold in PJs but too hot with socks so grows are still perfect. He'll be in them as long as he fits I reckon!

Apple I'd be pissed off too - you're bending over backwards and yet they won't budge an inch. Sad

Soph huzzah!

We're having tantrums too. In fact my attempt to record us and my voice featured the start of a hissy fit when I told him off for climbing onto the kitchen windowsill and then he spotted my phone and starting going all Gollum "my precious" about the cursed thing!

I'm getting a new phone tomorrow and he is getting the old iPhone as it's on its last legs. Are there still any good deals on phones with free tablets around? - they all seem to be upwards of £38 a month which given I currently pay £12 for the same data / call bundle is a right rip off and makes me think I should just buy a tablet for my sister not get stung for a 'free' one with an overpriced contract. I'd be better off six months in.....

PetiteRaleuse · 11/01/2014 20:17

Babygros (onesies right?) here for LO.

apple if they cba then don't stress. Your DP and you have a new life now. Live it. Offer again in a couple of years.

Big news of the day. We trashed our cat and dog bitten dining chairs and replaced them with colourful cheap comfortable plastic chairs.

Other big news: dinner tonight was brie. The best brie I have found since I left Paris. (sorry dairy avoiders)

Watching The Voice. What trite bollocks. Had avoided the French and UK versions until now.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/01/2014 20:19

Tantrums galore here too. I ignore or distract. And if distraction doesn't work I ignore some more. Two toddlers. One starts the other kicks off too. It's so much fun.

Kyz · 11/01/2014 20:20

Evening all :) Hope everyone has had a good day!

Fruit yay for her going straight back to sleep :)

chasing i'm sure e's gums have been lumpy for ages too, I kinda wish it'd all be over with at once but then I don't wish him to grow up too quickly so I guess I have to deal with the odd tooth here and there!

Eeek isles hope said cold fucks off as quickly as it arrived!

bplp i'm beginning to think it is terrible two's arriving early here too, I thought he was cranky with his teeth but actually I think he's just a sod!

I want to see life of Pi, it sounds really good. Made the mistake of getting dp a ps4 though which turned up today, so here I am for the evening!

poor lo pr hope she unbungs soon, bless her

apple i'd feel really disheartened by that :( It's a real shame they won't make the effort, I feel very sorry for you and your dp too because he must feel really torn because on one hand he must be quite angry but on the other hand they are his parents - I think I would have to outright ask why they seem to be making it difficult - after all it seems to be that your relationship with them is struggling anyway so you might aswell ask maybe? It can't make things any worse could it? Feel free to tell me to fuck off keep my nose out

oh sophia that is brilliant! yaaay!

eek pp hope you get to bed soon bless you

evil you're definitely not alone, bless you, it's really tough! E has been a bit of a whirlwind nightmare the past few days, he is throwing everything and screaming an angry scream at such an awful high pitch and volume when things aren't going his way! He is such a gentle natured laid back little soul usually, so i'm hoping it's just a phase and not a new character development! I have been showing him how to roll his balls and push his cars etc instead of throwing and if he keeps doing it I take the thing he is throwing. I've no idea if this is the right idea but it's getting us through the days atm! FC you have a calmer day tomorrow :)

Sounds like a lovely time was had at the park pass :) As for sleepwear E is usually in babygrows - I like them, he won't wear grows forever so for now I put them on him :) He has 3 pairs of big boy jammies and about 30 grows so doesn't end up in the jammies often.

Speaking of boots I need to take e back for another measure, though i'm sure his shoes fit fine, he grew to a 6 so quickly i'd like to check to make sure!

Passmethecrisps · 11/01/2014 20:21

Ok. So plenty of grow wearers. I will get her some jammies for her next trip to granny and grandpa and poor granny admitted that she couldn't do the poppers fast enough. I can only imagine the scene that caused.

Of course, apple. You have mentioned then before, yes? I would be spitting feathers.

Passmethecrisps · 11/01/2014 20:23

A 6 kyz! Blimey! Big banana feet! P is a three.

And Brie for tea? Om nom.

We are having a pasta veggie tray bake thing from M&S. Yumma

Kyz · 11/01/2014 20:25

Oh you naughty lot you posted a load whilst I wrote my post!

I'm not sure yw but it's probably worth having a look about - is it a specific tablet you're after, say an iPad/hudl/android something or are you just looking for a good deal on anything?

pr you know, i've never had Brie. Am I missing something heavenly?

Sophiathestormfairy · 11/01/2014 20:43

We are having popper trouble too though pass

evil hope you are having Wine I am afraid to say that wearing days are par for the course for a bit. He is trying to establish the boundaries and establish how stuff works. You have to try and keep your cool and make sure you are there for him while he is growing up. It is tough being a toddler. I think the baby whisperer is good on toddler tantrums In her toddler book. Remember we are here if you need another adult to sound of at at the end of a tough day. Xx

We had pizza for tea. Preceded by crisps as Saturday is crisp day in the fairy household. I haven't told MFP that yet!

Kyz · 11/01/2014 20:50

yes pass a 6, this was when he was one that he went up to a 6, is now 14 months and has such massive looking feet!

Pikz · 11/01/2014 20:51

No grows here as feet and body too long and next size up still had too small feet but massively too wide! Pjs since about 6 months.

L is a 5.5 so I feel your big feet pain Kyz. Thank god for startrite sale.

Tantrums all the time here. Lovely.

Evilwater · 11/01/2014 20:54

I'm just going to get a Wine and I'll have another one for all those having difficult times. The pizza was yummy.

Had another letter through from the lawyers, oh.

Evil

FatimaLovesBread · 11/01/2014 21:01

I feel your pain Evil M likes to tantrum and carpet sniff when she doesn't get her way at the moment.

pr I've just watched the voice, not watched the previous series. It's shit but enjoyable. Kylie looks v botoxed.

Wow pikz will have to add a meet up with you and L. I'm bridesmaid and M is flower girl so we're hoping to spend a few days down there beforehand as well as having a bit of a holiday after.

Babygrows here too pass we've got three pairs of normal pjs and the rest babygrows. She's only just going in to 9-12 in them and I bought 12-18 in the next sale last summer so I imagine she'll be in them for a while.

DH and I are settled watching Gossip Girl with a tub of quality streets Smile

YellowWellies · 11/01/2014 21:03

Kyz go and eat brie for me - it's amazing! Ideally just looking for an android tablet (Samsung, nexus anything) so really not wanting to pay £300 over the odds over the life of the contract.

Betsy just robbed a wine gum off the sofa - the sight of a border terrier daintily trying to chew a jelly sweet she can't grip properly is too funny!

BigPigLittlePig · 11/01/2014 21:08

Another gro wearer here. Just gone into 9-12 months so lots of room for manoeuvre. Although she has got PJs on tonight. Problem with PJs though is that she weiggles out of he bottoms during the night.

We also have wellies, as of the other day. V unsteady on her pins in wellies though.

Pass we had glorious sunshine too, glad P enjoyed herself so much.

Hia kyz. Size 6!! Bless him, bet he has fab balance!

MsJupiterJones · 11/01/2014 21:09

The Voice was pretty crap.

L has 2 pairs of jammies and 3 sleepsuits so we alternate. He doesn't wear a clean pair every night as we take them off first thing, is that bad? He has a clean vest on underneath though.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/01/2014 21:15

I have never had good Brie in the UK. But I am very particular with brie. It has to stink but not taste too strong.

Fox in next door's garden. Dog goes mental. Put him inside, as everyone other than my children are sleeping. Go outside myself. Almost face to face with growling fox. In my garden. Bring dog outside, to give him an opportunity to actually defend his territory. Dog whimpers and hides behind my legs. Cat goes postal. Fox fucks off. (Not actually scared of foxes, they will always run from adult humans but he was surprised and cornered).

Fox now several gardens away. Dogs can be heard barking all over the place. My dog joins in.

What a fucking wuss.

FatimaLovesBread · 11/01/2014 21:22

bp M is the same, she walks like she's got lead weights strapped to her feet Grin

Zamboni · 11/01/2014 21:33

S is still in gros too but is totally filling 18-24 month by length so I suspect it won't be long until we are a gro free zone. Although DD does have a hideous pink Peppa onsie with a tutu that she fucking loves, so S may get that as a hand-me-down at some stage.

Um. Tantrums. Yes. Every minute. Usually because I say no to climbing in the dishwasher, put him down if he slaps me, stop him from throwing eggs on the floor, y'know.

Had a feel for teeth. 10 I think. 2 on their way.

What else?

apple I wonder if there is something else going on? Are they embarrassed that you are offering to pay? What does DP think?

Night all. Hope your pizza was good evil Grin

Passmethecrisps · 11/01/2014 21:42

P has 8 teeth I think. And both bottom molars on their way.

Dearly departed doggycrisp used to delicately pin down quality street with his paws and unwrap them one by one. I never saw him chewing a wine gum though. Missed opportunity!

P's most likely tantrum topic is my phone. Any sight of it and she goes insane.

Oh goodness. We are discussing a family get together happening in March. There are so many reasons why it is stomach churningly awful. The only one I will mention here is that we will need to leave p in the hotel room while we party downstairs. There will be monitors and I will go up etc but I still don't like it. The hotel is more of a large house so really and genuinely there should be no problem but Hmm

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2014 21:52

flying visit to fred from me too!

fatima not where I got married. I will post on your thread soon, promise.

kyz I am Shock that you've never had brie. It is heavenly, especially when its warm I find. but yum anyway.

I love the voice. Blush much prefer it to x factor. but only the blind auditions. I go off it when its the live shows.

pr I started life of pi but just couldn't get into it. Perhaps I'll watch the film and it will inspire me to try the book again.

hmmm not showing myself in a very intelligent light here am I!

E still poorly and am kicking myself for not trying harder to get a drs appt so a trip to the urgent care centre is on the cards for us tomorrow.

MsJupiterJones · 11/01/2014 21:57

Oh no Eliza Sad

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2014 22:03

pass same here with E and my phone. Has severely hampered my mumsnetting. I just can't do anything on my phone now with her in sight of it, she goes ballistic.

Also my laptop has died and I need to locate and charge my tablet so all of those things compounded means it less easy for me to keep up with the quiche.

applepieinthesky · 11/01/2014 22:06

I really don't know what the issue is. I thought we got on quite well Sad I asked DP exactly what reason they gave and apparently his mum didn't say no outright but was going on about having to discuss it and how they couldn't make a decision just like that. I could understand it if it was a sudden surprise we had sprung on them but we have been mentioning doing it in summer 2014 since DS was born and they kept on that they couldn't wait to meet him.

Even more baffling is the fact that BIL who lives in Belgium hasn't been back to visit them since he left 12+ years ago despite being able to. He keeps messing them about saying he's booked his ticket for next month then the time comes and he comes up with an excuse why it has been delayed and he does this over and over again. They have been really upset by it and last week told him not to bother coming. They are now refusing to take his calls.

We are not in the same position as BIL where we can just book tickets to Iran and not have to worry about spending money, accommodation etc. it's more difficult for us having to travel to Turkey and pay for ILs to travel there too, but for some reason we're the ones making all the effort and whatever we suggest us refused. I'm genuinely baffled.

applepieinthesky · 11/01/2014 22:07

*is refused

Sophiathestormfairy · 11/01/2014 22:07

Oo half term 17th February week! Wahay.

Of to bed. So night all. Xx
