Epic Grin

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:02

I've been off the SW plan since my birthday in Nov really, as we've had 2 birthdays, plus all his little friends 1st birthday (and it would be rude not to raid the buffett, right?!) then christmas and all that entails.

I put 5lb on, I've been back on plan since monday and I've lost 3 of those 5lb.

I've actually really missed being totally on plan! I've not gone back to old habits, but the level of crap being consumed in between meals was erm, a lot!

So I've not lost weight since early Nov really, but I'm well focused to get to a certain target of mine in the very near future. I'm very excited!

I love SW, really I do. The food we eat is fabulous!

Made this tonight with roast root vegetables (carrots, parnsips, sweet potato and leeks with garlic, s&p, sage and thyme). It was totally gorgeous the whole thing. And I had a massive portion seconds of the veg. So filling!

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:10

Tomorrow, I am in work. On a study day. It's pretty boring. But then occasionally there are new things learned. So it's not a waste of time.

My arse gets numb, the day drags, and it's 9-5 so commuter traffic doubles the journey times, plus tomorrow I have to go on a massive trek to another site which has REALLY pissed me off as where I work has another site, even though my particular service is only based in one site. GRRRRR. And the worst bit is, we have to travel to the other site for the afternoon sessions!

What I really want to do is to go out with my little O! Or just stay in. Anything but work!

I have really been concentrating on O's language development the last few days. Perhaps I was just not noticing things. I'm not sure. I think we are getting hug, which is hughughughug followed by clambering all over me for some sort of masochistic version of a hug Hmm. I asked him where DS1 was earlier and he flicked his eyes up and stared DS1 right in the eyes. I asked him where DP was (not in the room!) and he went over to DP's spot on the table where his motherfucking laptop lives and tried to climb up on his chair Grin. He didn't repeat these things though, so I can't be sure if they were intentional. A while ago we had gog gog gog gog over and over when he saw the dog. He stopped that though. So it's hard to know really. I'm not sure.

MIL told me he said hiya the other day. But I'm not convinced, as it all just seems babbles with no meaning generally. Ah well.

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:10

That looks delicious det and what a fab site! I've just saved it to my favourites! I've never seen that site before.
I've just eaten a quarter of a tub of Haagen Dazs, one last blowout haha. I was going to eat a lot more but was full from dinner, which is a first. I'm getting a 12 week countdown, you get free membership with it with a leaflet I have and if I've paid upfront I'm more likely to stick at it.

BigPigLittlePig · 08/01/2014 21:14

I am using the my fitness pal app, to gain weight. Shall atrempt to gain as you folk lose. It's a good app, you pop in your daily activity level, current weight and desired weight, and the time scale, and it will tell you your daily allowance, and allow you to enter your food and drink for the day. Has been an eye opener.

Hiya det, was just wondering what had happened to you!

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:15

DP found it Grin. He's always searching for new recipes. I've never been bored of the same old yet!

Last night I had 1.5 jacket potatoes with cheese Grin don't judge me, I love them! with a massive salad covered in balsamic vinegar, and a SW recipe for crustless quiche. Diet food, what diet?! It's lost me over 3 stone so it must be working, right?!

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:21

Wow is that how much you have lost? That's brilliant. The last time I weighed myself I had just over 3 stone to lose, I think it will be about half a stone more now though with Christmas, I'm dreading what the scales say tomorrow, but really looking forward to loosing it - I bloody better anyway! I made a baked risotto last night, it was bloody lovely and after looking at what was in it, if I use fry light instead of oil to fry the onions and garlic it will be free on slimming world, S and dp loved it aswell so bonus!
I've heard of that app bp my friend was telling me about how good it was! she was using it to lose though not gain. I'll happily share some of my blubber with you.

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:22

*losing

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:23

Death by work BP!

I like MFP when I got the hang of it. I have about 1400 cals a day.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 21:24

Detective he sounds perfectly normal, he really does. Please don't worry. DD1 was still incomprehnsible at well after 2. We had the odd word at 18mo+. She's making up for it now. LO is faster as she gets more one on one time and is playing catchup.

kyz I AM sat at a lit desk in the dark in a high backed chair but a swivelly office type chair. Not a scary chair though. I reckon I could muster up an evil grin and a cackle though.

Tomorrow I am taking my dog to the vet for his rabies jab, keeping his passport up to date for a possible trip to the uk later in the year.

DD1 announced today that she wanted to throw the hair elastic thingies that her gran left in the bin. Before saying oh go on then I said but gran might come back and get them. She said NON. I said don't you want gran to come? NON. What about granddad. Yes, I want to see granddad but NOT gran.

And slammed her hand on the table in a perfect imitation of... Her grandmother.

And looked very angry.

Which is better than sadness.

I didn't push it any further than that but am boiling inside at MIL again. But... My scheming is not directed at her. No need.

MsJupiterJones · 08/01/2014 21:24

Hi Kyz, no I haven't been around much lately either but I always try to read the thread when I can. Feel like I'm constantly trying to keep up with L! It has been a busy time with my sister's new baby and the festive season etc. I feel bad when I have missed stuff that is going on in the quiche lives.

Shattered as although L is finally sleeping well, Mummy and Daddy are not. Lots of worries to do with house, money, work, life etc. A bit of ceiling fell in the other day, that was fun.

I need to get on the diet wagon again as it has crept up a bit over Christmas. Oh it's so tedious. Det you do seem to enjoy Slimming World, maybe I need to go to that. I am better as losing weight when I know I am going to be weighed.

Blah blah self pity... It's a miserable time of year innit. This is why I don't post much!

Oh and I hated the 7.39, to the point where DH was highly amused at my annoyance with it. Loved Sherlock though. Mmmmm. Wink

Btw Sophia what is cow crumble?!

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:25

I've got another 3.5 stone to be the ideal weight. I am not sure if I want to go to that size. I shall see! I'll be happy with a size 12. Which probably means I need to lose 2 stone more.

BigPigLittlePig · 08/01/2014 21:27

Lol my target is 2800 calories a day. Am aiming for more! It is haaaaard.

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:31

I could do that! In chocolate! And cake. Nom!

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:31

What about ensure?! Grin

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:33

pr dd1 has her head screwed on then not wanting to see mil. I feel a bit sorry for fil though, he will most likely also lose out on seeing his lovely granddaughters because of that old witch. But then again, I don't because he should stand up to her.

det I'd be happy at a 12 too. I have a pair of size 12 skinny jeans that were my favourite jeans when I met dp. They aren't stretchy so I know when I can get into them I'm an actual size 12 not a pretend one haha. If I can get back into them I will be happy. Although for my height that will still be classed as overweight, I'm only 5"2.

Mmmmmmm 2800 calories....... I could polish them off no trouble which is why I'm a big heffer

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 21:39

I replaced two meals today with a huge chunk of galaxy caramel for which I am holding you, Detective , personally responsible :o It was delicious. How have I never eaten that stuff before?

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:46

Oooops Grin.

Sounds like the perfect meal replacement though! Wink

I'm 5ft 2 also!

I was thinking 9.5 stone. But I'd be happy 10.5-11 really.

Pikz · 08/01/2014 21:48

< crawls under duvet with a mug of tea >

< waves>

It's been a long week.

StormyIsles · 08/01/2014 21:49

pr I have similar worries. Mil is a poisonous witch. Fil less so. But he is losing out because of her Angry

I am 5'9. Was 9st size 8/10 when I got pregnant. I am an embarrassing 13st and a Christmas bit size 14/16 now Ideally want to get down to 10/10.5st and a 12. I too am using MFP app.

TheDetective · 08/01/2014 21:51

I'm 13st 1.5, and a 14-16. Weird!

I was also 9st and an 8-10 11 years ago. Before DS1 grrrrr!.

Kyz · 08/01/2014 21:52

I've been off plan for a while det and I know I have gained a decent chunk, I gain and lose quite easily, obviously gaining more easily than losing, pfft! I've had the thingy you linked to, it's lush! I am going to group tomorrow so start the food bit on Friday. I have a week of teas planned, I shall write them down tomorrow when I'm looking In my book as some look lovely! I am looking forward to the chicken curry in particular! I love that with sw you can eat as much as you want of so many things, mmmmm! I have no idea what I want to lose but I will bloody well lose it! I think I need a good 2 3 stone off

What is this 12 week countdown fruit?

det o sounds fine he honestly does :)

Bless her pr, her grandmother certainly made an impact then :( I'm sure she will be fine though :)

jj I can sympathise as I've found it really hard to keep up too :( sorry you have lots of worries ATM and I do hope they all fuck the fuck off soon!

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:55

I'm 13.4 (I think) and a 16-18 Blush
It's just where you pay for 12 weeks up front kyz you get 2 weeks free doing it that way and it's £50. You can get 6 week countdowns aswell and you get 1 week free with that.

Passmethecrisps · 08/01/2014 21:56

Evening luvvlies.

Sorry things sound pretty shit jj. It is that time of year I think.

Scheming sounds very interesting pr. I think that MIL may have met her match with dd1! It is very sad that she has been left angry. She is too little to be feeling that. Rotten woman.

Your situation sounds dreadful flouncy. And frankly your employers sound like twats.

Good luck for tonight pp. It sounds loads of fun.

I remember making a conscious decision to watch no daytime telly when p got to about 5 months old. It was wearing me down. Watching This Morning is like watching the Daily Mail. And as for Loose Women - that is like watching my aunties after too much Chardonnay.

Having slept horribly last night - no sleep at all until 1am then awake every 45 minutes until getting up - I am enacting operation get to sleep. I have steeped in a bath filled with various sleep potions, slathered myself with sleep-potion body cream and have had a hot choc while watching Boardwalk Empire. And on that note, my kindle and I re off to bed.

fruitpastilles · 08/01/2014 21:56

I was the fattest bridesmaid at my cousins wedding in June and hated every minute of it. Another cousin is getting married in August and I'm
maid of honour, I'm determined to not be the fattest this time!
I've just downloaded MFP
