Sorry Stunt he TOLD you instead of ASK you? I would be beyond furious. Ask him for £50 and take yourself off out for dinner and cocktails.

The naughty thing is a tough one. M does not get no. She giggles. And shouts no at the dog Blush. So I am saving it for really dangerous things. I think she gets hot? As Sophia said, I will get tough on her when she is old enough to understand. For now I just want her to be safe and loved and know that when I am saying no it is for a reason. this does not apply to the dog who gets frequent shouting Blush Blush

Milk. Argh. This is a tough one. M actually has no bottles now. I binned the last one on Christmas day after 'santa' brought her a special insulated night time cup. So she gets:

  • a cup of milk in the morning with breakfast
  • a cup with either mid morning or mid afternoon snack
  • a warm cup at bedtime with a story

I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or not but I started weaning her off bottles just before introducing cows milk. I know I am incredibly lucky but the process and timing just worked for us. I haven't bought formula for a month now Smile

I don't want to go back to work tomorrow

ReindeerIsles · 29/12/2013 17:07

I am really angry with tescos. I had a food delivery on Friday night. Exactly the same as my normal waitrose order but they had no free time slots before mid week and we were getting desperate (and I had a voucher). Not only did it cost more than waitrose, I had to pay for delivery and having just double checked, at least 50% of the food went out of date yesterday or today. Angry

BigPigLittlePig · 29/12/2013 17:18

Isles go back on their website, and check by the items yiu have ordered, what their guarantee is, ie. 5 days etc. Usually they are quite good, but when I went shopping in store on 28th there was a LOT of stuff out of date. All dependent on if you can be bothered though! Am jealous of Ms bottle to cup transition though, perhaps she'd like to send out a quiche memo?

PurplePidjin · 29/12/2013 17:24

45g oats, 30g ground almonds, 2tsp sunflower oil, 8g desecrated coconut, 2tbsp honey

Mix thoroughly, press firmly into silicone moulds, bake for 15 minutes at 180ish.

Now off to catch up on the fred!

PurplePidjin · 29/12/2013 17:28

Stunt theatre? Get the fuck out of there, either way Xmas Shock

ChasingDaisy · 29/12/2013 17:45

Stunt, leg it. I am furious on your behalf. Let DH entertain them this time.

StuntNun · 29/12/2013 17:55

I have escaped to the Chinese takeaway to get food so that gets me out of the house for 45 minutes or so. I don't mind BIL and DNiece turning up as it is only the PIL I'm avoiding never mind that J has been out with them and smells of FIL. This low contact lark is harder than it looks. I must start a proper fred in Relationships for this as I'm confused about things that are going on and not sure what to do. I got a P&O discount voucher that has to be used to make a booking by 7 Jan for travel any time in 2014. I asked DH when he would be able to go over to my parents' house and he said he will only go over if we stay in a hotel - he's not prepared to stay with them as he thinks the house is too small. I was a bit Shock as they have a room with a double bed for me and him with space for the travel cot for J, DS1 gets his own room and DS2 sleeps on an air bed in mum and dad's room. It's not as if we all have to sleep on the sofa or anything. But it does put the weekly trips to the ILs and all the cooking we do for them, meals out etc. into perspective when he won't even make do at my parents' house for a few nights. He hasn't been over there since 2012 although he did see my parents when we were on holiday in July and when they came over for J's birthday. He treats my mum like shit anyway hmm similar to the way his dad treats his mum perhaps so it's no loss to her if he won't visit.

PurplePidjin · 29/12/2013 18:03

Stunt that is completely fucking outrageous of him. I think you need a "friend" to "phone you" with a "crisis" while you're out, and you need to drop the food off and run away fast. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander and if he won't make the effort for your family, no fucking way should his be allowed to stomp all over you!

BigPigLittlePig · 29/12/2013 18:24

Hear hear pp.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 29/12/2013 18:26

Hey stunt you are welcome here, if you can bear the hours journey in the rain, to share my chocolate orange.

Previously when I have had Tesco stuff that has a close use by date they group it together and highlight it on the sheet so you know.

I had a shop delivered yest. I had ordered a 750g bag of soup veg. There was none. So the substitution was a 350 g bag of soup veg by a diff company. Why, in why, oh why did they not give me two? That is my main gripe on the substitutions, they never look at the weigh, on e I ordered a large chicken, they substituted it with a small one, why didn't they look at the weight and give me two. IMBECILES.

MsJupiterJones · 29/12/2013 18:35

Isles what type of cups do you use for milk? There are so many different types I don't know what to try. He has water in the free flow tommee Tippee first cup and I am trying the non drip cow one but he doesn't have much patience.

Pikz · 29/12/2013 18:50

JJ I wanted to know the same thing

L has done nothing but cry and whinge all day. Am on my knees as we've pretty much been up since 3. These teeth better appear pronto.

Stunt do a massive runner to Sophia and teat out the quiche spare room xx

Errmmmm I can't remember anything. Am barely managing to see.

Pikz · 29/12/2013 18:52

Oh and PP gap stuff is very small. We are in age 2-3. Boden he is in 18-24 months

We live in next and sainsbury as they are longer and bigger.

Luckily I buy most of it on eBay or in sales.

PurplePidjin · 29/12/2013 19:00

Supermarkets and charity shops here, he trashes clothes and grows so fast! Mostly sleeves, i was expecting knees to be hardest hit Xmas Hmm

YellowWellies · 29/12/2013 19:09

Stunt head to Sophia's! What an arse!!!! He's treating you like a doormat - you'll have to show your boys some feminist wisdom and how they should really treat a partner Sad .

Isles Tesco are rubbish for that but as Soph says they do always point it out on the order summary which they hurriedly stuff in your hand as they leg it. On the island we were so far up the supply chain everything went out of date the day after it hit the shelves so you couldn't do a weekly shop. Of all the supermarkets I have to rate Lidl for quality and shelf life of produce. I don't know about Waitrose as we're saving money at the mo and I always go mad and buy far too many naice things if I shop with them!!! Grin

We're having the same issues with no and tantruming when I stop him going kamikaze. He's been trashing my auntie's house and shrieking like a terrorhawk when thwarted. It's been a long day!!!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 29/12/2013 19:29

Long day here too. Night quiche. Am in bed with my kindle :)

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2013 20:00

Good night PR. I am glad your day appears to have been bearable. I hope there are no more incidents overnight.

I hope to have more than three hours sleep tonight. I am turning in now so fingers crossed.

I have fresh bed linen and new pjs on Smile Still got the same grumpy fat git next to me. He is tired so came to bed before me leaving me to put the girls down. Bless him.

ChasingDaisy · 29/12/2013 20:03

Gosh VQ, your DH must be exhausted, bless him. I hope you sleep well tonight. You too PR x

Evilwater · 29/12/2013 20:06

As for milk N has it in:
-his ready brek in the morning,

  • either cheese sandwich or dariy pudding at lunch
  • then a bottle just before bed.

I have used Adsa before and they seem ok, the only problem is I got some dent fix for my mum but they put in toothpaste. My dad took it back as he was going near the shop, and the lady apologised and swaped the item and gave him £10 voucher for the trouble Smile

N has slept most of the day, but he's wanted to go out and I've wanted a nice peaceful day at home.

Evil

BigPigLittlePig · 29/12/2013 20:12

He must indeed be shattered Hmm. Hope you all get something resembling a decent night.

Stunt I think sophias chocolate orange idea sounds v tempting, take the chinese there!?

So dh surprised me earlier. He has resolutely said, I want no more kids, I have 2 already, that's enough. I want more but was expecting a battle to convince him, then earlier after F had done something cute, he announced that he can't wait to have more Shock. Not now though, I'm not ready to split myself between 2 kids, and I want to finish this bit of my training. Nice to know it's an option though!

Cold turkey and chips for grown up tea, yum. The dog has been recruited to team furry shark, and gobbled up Fs omelette of which there was plenty, as she insisted on feeding herself with a fork at tea time.

Have just poured a nice glass of Wine - sante!

Passmethecrisps · 29/12/2013 20:13
Sophiathemistletoefairy · 29/12/2013 21:05

Oh dear.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 29/12/2013 21:05

The chocolate orange is gone Shock

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 29/12/2013 21:06

stunt where are you? I have been waiting ages.

Kyz · 29/12/2013 21:22

Goshes, evening all. Thought I'd posted something on this Fred. I'm getting really bad at keeping up, you're gonna lose me at this rate!

So, New Years resolutions for E, in 2014 E will hopefully...

  • learn some more words
  • learn how to eat with a spoon at least!
  • behave better at mealtimes

I will hopefully lose a decent amount of weight, de-clutter, and move. I hope to gain some confidence with taking Eric out to different places. I am also aiming to save save save! I have lots I want to acheive and I have decided 2014 will either be fantastic, or really, really shit!

sorry misslaughalot I haven't any advice for you but I really hope sleep sorts itself soon, sounds difficult! hugs

I am also jealous of those TTC, and equally think i'm mad for being jealous!

yay for 12 hours sleeping lily :) fab stuff

Maybe dh will change his mind fruit :) I'd be gutted too if dp didn't want any more but he's broody too. He wasn't at first though! He just kind of came round on his own

Reading some of the stuff you guys deal with with your ILs has made me so grateful for mine. Except SIL. Ugh. Won't even go there.

stunt for NYE I want to write my resolutions and read them out loud to my family. I am more likely to stick to them then. Plus it usually gives everyone a good laugh as I am bound to fail at at least half of them. If I had my way, i'd be in bed. I won't drink because dp will want one and I am uber paranoid about something happening to E so at least one of us is completely sober at all times. Bit silly, I think but there you go.

lily and chasing your plan sounds ace!

congrats to your pal vq and glad you survived the visit :) I think it sounds like your girls handled things brilliantly, and I'd be very proud of them :) Hope you feel better soon too x

bless p pass hope she feels better soon

pr sounds like you're dealing with the ILs remarkably well. Brill stuff, FC you get through it unscathed!

pp your dp has come a very long way from this time last year, brilliant :D

chasing skydiving sounds like a fab first date idea, sorry the date didn't go so well though :/ How is it going with that other fellow?

Yay for an interview vq I am confident you will kick ass, quiche mummy

glad swimming went well lily I haven't taken e for ages, i really should take him again

E stacked one thing yesterday. Was very proud. He is currently obsessed with following instructions though. He knows 'feed your fish' which is get the fish food from the drawer under the tank, he fetches keys, balls, cars, shoes, socks and teddy, and if you say we're going out he gets his coat and shoes and tries for about 20 mins to put them on, when he has them on after help, he goes and waits by the front door, waving. Is cute! But not much in the way of general skillz eg shape sorting/stacking/rings etc!

is it wrong that I laughed when I read about dd1 drawing on the make up bag pr

I also giggled at your dh trying to do his wooden car bplp! bless him

flouncy that sounds like a lovely birthday surprise for your dh! Glad you've had a good crimble too :) lovely to hear you sounding so positive :)

I really hope 2014 is a grand year for all of us, and I hope it has many happy things :) I too have whatsapp if anyone wants to chat, no idea how to 'add people' or whatever you do on it! People tend to have to talk to me first, I know how to reply, lol!

pass E loves to laugh at me furiously when he knows he's doing something and i've said 'eric.....' and i'm about to say no and he looks at me with the worlds cheekiest grin and literally falls about laughing and does it anyway. I hope to fuckery think he's just being funny, not naughty, and I am trying really hard not worrying, they're only wee and i'm sure they'll get there with the behaviour shizzle :) I try not to say no too often but must say it a million times a day :(

No afternoon bottle here, E has one bottle at night time, and drinks about 6oz of it at best. He has cows milk all the time now. He has about 5oz in the morning in a beaker and usually drinks that, and has about 3-5oz on/in breakfast but that's hit and miss. All of his food is actually. He's cutting two more teeth and has a stinking cold. And is generally really difficult to get to eat anyway! I keep wanting to post my concerns but I think i'm being silly. I don't know. I think I need a plan and need to stick to it but i find it very hard to not keep offering him everything under the sun until he eats something. He is really pushing buttons atm. I don't know what to do with him :(

fatima i also need to get some storage sorted, am thinking of putting up some shelves for dvds/cds etc as I've got stacks of them and they're dotted here and there atm

brill that the girls were good at lunch pr i still get nervous taking e out, mostly cos he doesn't eat well sometimes and throws things all over the place if having a strop! Sounds like they were fab though

Stunt that would fuck me right off, that he didn't ask. It sounds like you do far more with/for his parents than yours? That seems unfair, and actually that sounds really comfortable and not at all cramped at your parent's house. If we're all at mums it's REALLY squashed and involves airbeds everywhere and people sleeping on sofas, but we love being together usually.

isles what special insulated cup is it you speak of, if you don't mind me asking? also, i'd be fucked off with Tesco too. I usually find them quite good but would complain in your case.

ooh sounds yum pp

sophia can you specify you need the same quantity? My mum did on hers and they've always made it up to the same amount. She ordered some meat once and they didnt have it and sent a tonne of very expensive meat, the price difference being about £15 and she didn't have to pay it and it was enough meat, a little over the amount she'd originally ordered

I've not used gap but E is in 3-4 in vertbaudet :S! Silly sizing difference

I hope everyone gets some sleep tonight and stunt I hope things are ok for you, hugs

Epic post? I really really fucking cunting wankering hope to bastarding post once a day again now. Wankety time is always fucking off and i've missed a bastard few sweary bollocking wednesdays so i'm shitting well making the fuck up for it right nobbing here :D

Love you all
