So sorry to hear about the littles that are sick. But your Christmas dinners all sound lovely.

I guess I came on here to whine. Feel free to ignore. L now knows how to open the toilet lid and plays in the potty water. Ewww. Also yesterday she was so clumsy, tripping on everything and bonking her head. I was babysitting my 4 year old nephew so of course she was trying to keep up with him. She even got a bloody nose, I'm assuming from all the times she fell. Then last night I took her shoes off before bath time (she wears the little leather shoes) and guess what I found! An extra pair of socks jammed into the toe of one shoe. Worst mommy award goes to me.

The last few days I've also been very worried for my sister. Her husband went missing. Thankfully the police located him, but he was delirious... on some drug. He was at an old friends house who insists it was "too many sleeping pills." But he has had a drug problem in the past, we thought years ago. My dad went over and had to physically remove him from the place. He refused to get care at the hospital. My sister just got married in September. Needless to say she has been feeling awful and unable to eat. I hope things will start looking up for her soon.

Evening all.

Sending huge massive hugs and lots of healing thoughts for little E horsey, I really hope he's better soon, thanks for keeping us updated and thanks for passing on the messages pr

Sorry if I upset anyone this morning when I moaned about e's sleep but what I meant was i'm rubbish and those of you that cope with it regularly are brilliant, rather than anything else. I can't believe how rubbish I am after one bad night :( some of you really are amazing and I'm honestly not trying to be condescending or anything, I hope I am not coming across that way

stunt you sound massively busy and that sounds like alot of palava for xmas dinner. I too would rather a bit towards it money wise than the 'we'll buy it' thing, I mean you need it in advance and I don't know about you but I am specific with some things. Plus you might worry if she buys it last minute and then can't find something/it isn't in stock. Argh!

feeding self : E flings his spoon too. He is terribly messy, and doesn't seem to try to eat any of the food he's got, except for the odd yoghurt or the first bit of breakfast. he is hungry first thing so eats about a dozen spoon fulls then starts playing. Am not sure how to go forward i hate mess, do I just have to embrace it? I worry he won't eat enough if I let him feed himself :S

woohoo for better nights yw :)

I am undecided on meat for this year. We tend to do a massive dinner for New Years day too but never the same meat as crimbly dinner

Flouncy you madfe that comment in the heat of the moment at what probably was a very desperate time, don't beat yourself up about it hugs

pp i don't blame you for being upset, I would be too. Everything very firmly crossed for the job interview on Friday

Glad things are going ok re not bf chick

Happy birthday to M isles!!

My MN SS gift arrived today, the one from when I've been nominated by someone to receive something with the MN xmas appeal, I am so grateful for the nomination and the gift, and I need to hop over to the thread where you can thank people! I have my quiche ss present ready to post and will get round to posting it tomorrow :)

Glad the move went well lily :) Hoping the court case goes well too

biiiig cuddles chasing

Degree talk, I have a degree in Zoology. Never used it so far :(

oh sophia can I come for xmas dinner? your foody posts have my mouth watering! PR Does that to me too

Gosh det that would terrify the life out of me! Speaking of scary MIL has had E alot for us recently whilst the floor sort of, fell through etc, and she said he eats satsumas fine etc and he's doing well, she gives him bananas as they are which i'm ok with as long as he's sat down ok it scares me but he seems to handle them fine but then today I took him there for lunch, he came toddling in to me with a whole grape in his mouth!!!! She said he's ok with them but I don't like it. Am I allowed to ask her to halve them? It scares me.

FC for no bronchiolitis pr or other illness actually!

E had his appointment with the opthomologist (ear person, probably spelt it wrongly) today and it looks like his eyes are fine :D woo!

FC for sleep quiche wide tonight! If I am up I will post in case anyone else is up

Hope E is better soon horsey, know i've said it once but still!

Oh gosh poor horsey and horsey foal. Sending healing thoughts their way.

Kyz, definitely ask for her to halve grapes. I am pretty laid back about what O eats but I always halve grapes for him. I've popped my thank you on the MN SS thread Smile it's such a lovely thing to receive. Am keeping mine until Christmas Day Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 21:46

kyz you are not rubbish and offended no-one.

lydie if that is worst mummy award I think we can all find examples of even worse mummydom. The situation with BIL sounds worrying though

Report
PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 21:46

Grapes should be halved until they are at least 15 5

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2013 21:47

Evening ladies.

Hia lydie. These things happen! I am sorry to hear about your sister's husband though. It sounds very worrying.

kyz don't apologise for saying what is happening in your life! All things are relative. I would always half grapes at the moment and have skinned them too.

The illness chat is eye opening. I am very aware of just how lucky we have been with p's health - genuinely and honestly I am grateful every day. I hope our babies all stay, for the most part, fit and healthy.

We are off to the inlaws for Christmas this year. It will be traditional turkey and trimmings with trifle (which I can't bear) and veggies cooked to nothing. After we come back my parents will come up for the day so we might go out for tea or so a roast beef.

Oh, p has a new cute thing! She has been waving for a while now - full arm swinging. At the weekend she started doing this wrist rotation which looks like the queen's wave! It is very funny. When DH was at his folks and I was on FaceTime she was waving like this at me then took her dummy out and stuffed it onto the iPad screen where my face would be.

Oh Crikey! My chat about MIL's Christmas dinner sounds horrid! It is lovely and I will eat it and it will be delicious! We used to grow sprouts which were the most beautiful, crisp and delicious things ever. Until mil cooked them. Other than that she is a wonderful cook. And I hate trifle anyway.

Sorry cross posted lydia hugs, that does sound worrying! And that doesn't sound worthy of the worst mummy award, bless you

How do you think I should mention the halving grapes? She's a godsend and adores e and I desperately don't want to offend and sound like an uppity know it all or whatnot. You all know how terribly I word things and I will end up digging a big hole!

I was thinking about getting p another jellycat thing for her collection. She loves soft toys. We lost the jellycat sheep she had. Might replace that. Dragon sounds nice. Owl? She has a rabbit and a cat and a mouse currently

Report
Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2013 21:56

kyz I always just do the apologetic and "I know I am being a worried dafty but . . . " thing and say it would help you relax if grapes were cut up. Any further issues then you channel the quiche

kyzWould it be easier to fib and say

" oh, we had a terrible incident with a grape last night, e nearly choked and we had to do the heimlic manoeuvre and everything, I was reading we should halve or quarter them. Up until they are 5. Would you believe it. They can be quite dangerous" solemn face.

Hahaha sophia!

My dad always bites sooks into veggies my mum has made with a sigh of "see, I like my vegetables cooked "

My MIL boiled these tiny and beautiful sprouts to soup because she was making dinner for an elderly neighbour who couldn't chew. Bless her loveliness
