In theory PR, bronchiolitis is caused by something called RSV. As with any virus, you should only be able to get it the once. There will always be exceptions to the rule, but hopefully having had it so bad before, she will not get it again.

Det dh just shook his head and said "fuck" when I read out Os latest exploits Grin

Flouncy {hugs} we've all said it in the past, those of us with sleep dodgers perhaps more frequently. Stunt I think was particularly open about how she felt at one point re: J and his sleep.

Pidj good luck to dp, hope it comes up trumps, as it does sound ideal.

GT it sounds as though everything has just got too much. Is there any way you could escape to your mums for a few days R&R? That might be all you need to reset yourself and feel more like your usual self? Glad dh is helping out though.

Sophia Christmas at yours sounds ace. DH is off to order the turkey tomorrow, not sure yet what extras I shall do. Not even sure what day Christmas is happening in our house...

Pie and chips in the oven. Lovely day at a regional training day today, catching up with some familiar faces and some long lost friends. And F slept without intervention from 9-6 Grin

My niece had RSV three times and was hospitalised twice AND she had the RSV jags... so I don't think it's as 'strict' as say chickenpox in terms of once you've had it you'll not get it again. But your two aren't premmies with fecked up lungs PR.

No but dd1 was a very healthy toddler when she got it plus double pneumonia. Came out of nowhere. Even the paed was surprised.

I suspect she was more unlucky than anything else PR. Shall keep everything crossed all winter for all the quiche babies, and hope that good health and minimal hospital visits are enjoyed by all. First proper winter is pretty grim for them though, isn't it?

Was a bit gutted with the pie. Had a bad incident with some gone off spinach & ricotta ravioli a few months ago. This pie had sweet potato, spinach and goats cheese - and reminded me just a bit too much of the incident Sad

It was a particularly nasty strain. The wards were packed it was a real epidemic. Apparently so far this year the virus doing the rounds is a lot less serious. Even the tiddly babies in her group haven't been too ill with it. And the local chest physio comes into nursery to continue treatment once they are on the mend and back to nursery.

Report
PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 20:02

And LO only got it lightly because we were expecting it (dd1 was in hospital and I had bronchitis) so physio was called in on day two the minute it had got down to her chest.

Anyway... No need to panic, she is coughing less with the humidifier, and is eating and not at all wheezing so I have no reason to worry now. Was just voicing my fears, so to speak.

Bastard cunting RSV. It's sweary Wednesday tomorrow.

It always amazes me, the difference in health care between different countries.

Just waiting for the final bit to arrive for my SS prezzie, then I can finish it up and send it out Smile. Am itching to get it finished, am feeling a bit chuffed with it.

It always makes me think how scared mothers in times past must have been when winter approached and they wondered if their wee ones would survive. All things considered we really are very lucky to have our babies at this point in history.

Wishing mr PP lots of luck.

We've had RSV twice now. Luckily just one hospitalisation.

Am really enjoying work and L loving nursery. Think DP who works from home is finding it the weirdest. He misses us both.

Very lucky yw even giving birth was massively dangerous. Then we have ff which is an option for some of us but an obligation for others, without which many babies survive, and as much as the ff companies are despicable thank God we have them. And the jabs... And oxygen on tap in bad cases of flu or bronchiolitis..

pig I assume you're referring to the physio. I googled the french health serice leaflet on bronchiolitis earlier. Physio is the accepted treatment along with oxygen if necessary. I wonder why they don't do it in the uk? I couldn't find anything about it on Uk sites, other than for CF and some cases of asthma.

In fact, a sobering thought, lots of us would not be still in the quiche even 60 years ago ignores fact quiche wouldn't have existed then

Just had a pm from horsey - little E was admitted yesterday with a stomach bug, suspected twisted gut. He's severely dehydrated and can't keep food down so on a drip. She asked me to let quiche know.

Report
PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 20:28

I'm not sure if the twisted gut is still a possibility but he is poorly so a collective quiche positive thought would be good right now.
