Loving Sophia's fibbing. That is what I would do. And will do from now on.

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2013 22:03

It's the horrid soggy biscuit bit I hate. Bleaurgh.

Don't like soggy or slimy

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/12/2013 22:06

I don't like sog either, but alcoholic sog is ok an if you make sure each layer sets properly individually the they don't seep through......wonderment.

Anyway.... Must go to sleepies.

Xx

You could just say the grapes are the one biggest choking hazard around and that official advice is to halve them. Seriously, grapes are evil. Just the right shape to get blocked, just the wrong texture to get through. I have to admit I have had none in the house since dd1 was born. They get given them at nursery. Halved I was very insistent on checking that

PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 22:09

Have never tried to make a trifle. Wouldn't be able to beat my mum's/granny's/sister's. And DH hates it. Even theirs nutter

ChasingDaisy · 03/12/2013 22:13

Yuck to trifle.

Grin to Sophia's fibbing.

Kyz, you need to change your nickname to your SS 'code name'. Details should be in the PM from MN and on the front of your gift Smile

O loves soft toys too. Especially a giant dog which is bigger than him. He gives it big bear hugs. Very cute.

Will be at my dads for Christmas dinner. Stepmum will cook. I will be making homemade mince pies and Nigella's Yule log. Yum.

Off to bed now. Early start for our London trip tomorrow. Night quiche xx

Lydiejo · 03/12/2013 22:14

Sister has been staying at my parents so not alone with him. I guess he was apologetic last night though. Apparently he has been depressed and out of work. He was laid off from his job in June and we only now just found out. Which is weird because we are a close family and would have helped them out... no need to keep that a secret.

Oh, I was going to add. I got my degree in Health Science with an emphasis in public health. I was 8 weeks pregnant at graduation. Wasn't able to get any jobs health related or otherwise that paid well... I ended up as a produce manager at a tiny grocery store till right before L was born. Lifting boxes of fruit till 9 months pregnant. I think someday I will go back to school. Sometimes i wish I had a fab career. For now I mostly enjoy being a SAHM... until I have to do the dishes. I hate dishes and they used to be DHs job sob sob haha. There is a big pile right now.

It snowed here last night Xmas Smile

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2013 22:19

Reckon it will be snowing here fairly soon too.

P gives her toys proper cuddles now and goes " aaah" when she does it.

YellowWellies · 03/12/2013 22:19

Kyz I was about to suggest you lie about a choking incident but just spotted Sophia got in there first!

I love trifle but I can't have it this year. Sulk. Envy

PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2013 22:37

Good that DSis is safe lydie

And Shock at you having to work the day before LO was born. We are lucky in Europe re maternity leave. Where I am we have to stop on full pay 8 weeks before due date. And full pay continues til 12 weeks past due date. 8 weeks pre was a tad too soon with dd1, I could have kept going. With LO I was signed off at 26 weeks. On full pay.

GTbaby · 03/12/2013 23:22

Shock PR

FlouncingIsles · 03/12/2013 23:23

I am finding it soooo hard to keep up now I am a working mummy Sad

From my brief skimming whilst pulling a wired M off the ceiling, I gather horseys e is poorly. Poor wee soul, sending lots of get well wishes Thanks Thanks Thanks

Work is great. But sooo intense. So much to learnnin so little time. But I am loving it and my team are wonderful. Really a* Smile

I am missing M like msd though. Her birthday today was so lovely (thanks for all the happy birthdays) but I have spent most of it close to tears. I got into the carand as i pulled out the street this morning the clock ticked onto the time she was born Sad .

BUT she walked across the room to me today Grin And our cake was surprisingly tasty. And I really should focus on what I have and not the few hours of chores/tears/tantrums/nap dodging I missed today. Hmm

FlouncingIsles · 03/12/2013 23:24

Oh and bastard (x?) PIL snubbed M's birthday Angry A few small gestures from 2/3 SILs but notneven antext from PIL Angry Angry Angry

Lydiejo · 03/12/2013 23:27

PR I had gathered that you all had much better maternity leave. I am kind of shocked though at how awesome. Full pay for all that time!? That is really great. I think America needs to get on the boat with that. I actually quit at 37 weeks or nearly I think. It just got too hard to stand and lift. Then L came early, a day before 38 weeks. I loved being pregnant though. I can't wait to do it all again. (I know, a lot of you might hate me for that haha)

GTbaby · 03/12/2013 23:29

My sil knows a baby/toddler who chocked on a grape and didn't survive. Sry to put a downer on things.

Misslaughalot · 04/12/2013 01:50

Ugh I am wide awake with the most painful earache I think I've ever had. It sounds like there's a crackling fire in my ear and I can't believe how much it hurts. I've come downstairs as I was waking DP by crying. Throw in a hacking cough and dickie tummy to the mix and I don't think I'm getting any sleep tonight. Thankfully O is having a good night it seems.

Can't even call in sick to work as I have to run an hour's online training session at 9am and nobody else starts work before then. Hopefully I can get through it and then get myself a Dr appt. if this is what O has had in the last couple of weeks then no wonder her sleep has been so shit, and I feel awful for not getting her seen and treated Sad

Misslaughalot · 04/12/2013 02:17

Just been sick, twice. Feel a bit better in my stomach but my ear is so sore. Glad I had the forethought to put the salad bowl next to me.

Just want to sleep...

Lily311 · 04/12/2013 04:15

Hot water bottle on your ear? Warmth should help.

Thinking of horsey , hope e is getting better.

lydia hate washing up. I now have a dishwasher.

Grapes. I quarter them. I'm too scared of the bastards.

And yey to M, clever girl.

Who else is not walking? O gets really scared when letting my hands go, she is a pro at holding only one hand and walking around.

Evilwater · 04/12/2013 07:52

Just to let you all know I have internet now!!! We are both fine. Will post tonight.

PetiteRaleuse · 04/12/2013 07:52

Morning all.

Good luck laughalot earache is not fun :(

DD1 woke up in a real temper. And LO woke up at 6. Dropped her off at nursery and she was heading straight for bed.

PetiteRaleuse · 04/12/2013 07:53

Good to hear that evil :)

YellowWellies · 04/12/2013 08:11

Awesome Evil!

Isles what a nasty family. Does the ? mean P is being all charming and messing with your head? How's he coping as a SAHD? Is he still wanting to be a kept man?

Laugh a lot ouch Sad

Lily no walking here yet and I don't expect it til 15 months or so given he's so wee and his high muscle tone from being jaundiced (according to the paed). My lot are always late which bad refluxers often are as they have to be held so much when wee. Not that I'm complaining as it'll save money on shoes and he'd be so bloody kamikaze on his feet.

Jonas at 13 months just had his first fall off the bed, because I was chatting to you lot. Bad Mum. He didn't cry just looked shocked poor soul.

Wonder how Horsey and E are.

FlouncingIsles · 04/12/2013 08:33

Yay evil

And poor misslaugh Sad Sounds horrid.

YW poor J!! ? down to the fact I have decided to cut them out entirely. Does that make them xPIL? Anyway yes he is being charming. I am coming home to clean washing, cooked meals and a happy M (he is a better SAHP than me Blush ) BUT I am having a little bet with myself as to how long it last. I reckon Monday. Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 04/12/2013 08:36

DD1 was 15 months too. She's quite big (98th centile) and strong. I think it is a better age as they just get it quicker the later they are. DD1 was running within weeks of walking and hardly ever lost her balance. LO is much less steady on her feet but improving every day. I think she walked earlier because she could see DD1 do it, and slightly older kids at nursery, and just kind of made herself do it to keep up iyswim. I really need to get shoes sorted. Baby feet are so hard to get in shoes I find so I keep her in leather slippers most of the time at home and at nursery all the children are barefoot all the time except when they go out. Which I am a tad Hmm about but nevermind.

Elizadoesdolittle · 04/12/2013 09:30

Glad M had a good birthday isles. what a way to mark it by her walking.
Still no walking here, or cruising really. Won't be for quite some time. I bet she'll be one of the last. I'm not worried though. DD1 was an early walker so enjoying the crawling stage more. Ouch, she just bit my toe!

hope you feel better soon misslaughalot sounds nasty.

Glad you are ok evil
