Ah clarella Lovely post. Happy birthday to G.

Meal times are becomming harder and harder. E just wants to eat everything we are having and shakes her head at the spoon and turns her head away. I have now resorted to not only hiding the puree bowl but feeding her from my fork. Having marginal success with this. Tonight she gave up though and would only take food when DD1 fed her. Having a 3 yr old feed a 1 yr old makes for an interesting meal time! As much as I want to carry on eating with the girls (I thought it was important to have set family meal times) I really may have to feed E by herself to stop these other distractions. I really need to do some research on disovleable foods which aren't crisps or chocolate. Eating peas one at a time kept her busy for a bit yesterday but then she started shovelling them in and then vommed everything back up. Sorry, I'm waffling now. Realise this is quite trivial compared to others problems but just wanted to vent a bit really. I've heard this wonderful place called quicheland is the best for things like that Smile.

She's also this week started tantruming. Proper full on ones when she doesn't get what she wants. Don't remember it starting this early with DD1. Unless I was just a bit oblivious to it. I have to say I do laught at the moment but it doesn't bode well for the future.

In other news.....the royal fucking variety show seems to have been on for hours. I keep watching stuff on my planner and when that finshes this god foesaken programe is still on. Chas and Dave is on now! Ooo looks like it could be finishing. I know I could just turn it over but it gives me something else to rant about.

Our quiche SS present has arrived. Thank you, SecretSanta, and thank you quiche for being so good to us. #wanttoopenit

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 01:44

Oh the thirst! Am on my 6th wake up. LO woke up once, Dd1 appears to be sleeping it off for now. I'd love to do the same but oh my word the thirst. I get dd1 necking drinks even though she was going to vom them. I am desperate for a sip of something but daren't as I won't stop. So am swigging and spitting tap water

Woe is me

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 02:03

Fever! In the morning. Fever all through the night.

Just found myself seriously wondering whether I should go and stand in the freezing rain and accidentally drink it and cool down at the same time.

Have decided to start sipping water.

flouncymcflouncerson · 10/12/2013 03:45

I hope you chose the best after pr and that you have managed some sleep.

I'm wide awake J and Dh are asleep... Very annoying!

Kitchen is getting there. We tarted putting things into last night. Need to choose a paint colour. Any suggestions? We have gloss white doors and a black sparkly worktop. I'm thinking maybe a pale grey? Is that too boring?

My Xmas shopping is almost done. All online due to surgery. Still need to get dhs birthday present though.

I remember seeing mention of Xmas eve hampers... I like the idea of it so what do I need?? I've ordered new pj's...

Em.... Am stuck now...

horsey hope E is getting better

The fruit and veg shop where I work... Nudge nudge... Wink wink... Doesn't have the greatest policy. I wasn't entitled to any bereavement leave for my FILs death... And he died in the same place worked! However I am grateful for the sick leave policy as I'm on sick leave after my surgery and as such don't need to worry overly about money. I don't really understand sick pay, why do I deserve to get money when I cannot go into work? I'm not complaining but I do find it odd!

Em... Am stuck again...

flouncymcflouncerson · 10/12/2013 03:46

*best should read water... Goodness knows how that happened!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 03:59

Have started to keep water down. LO up coz of jabs. dd1 up because she was thirsty but hasn't vommed. If this is it it is the shortest gastro bug ever. Fingers crossed.

I wnt to see that house in 4 hours time.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 04:15

Everyone asleep but me. Am hungry. Dare not eat food. Water good.

What day is it going to be? Tuesday? Not even sweary Wednesday.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 04:19

When my dad died my boss didn't tell me I was entitled to three paid days of leave and didn't offer to give me unpaid leave. I actually dialled up to the funeral by phone from the office. A few weeks later I was familiarising myself with employment law and saw I had this right to paid leave. Pointed it out and he said yeah I know. I said why didn't you tell me? He said because you said you'd dial in to the service. I said yeah, because I didn't have leave ffs.

Twat.

Lily311 · 10/12/2013 05:24

Awake here too, little girl is fast asleep.

pr hope you will feel better today, stomach bug is horrendous. I remember I used to manage to keep down only flat coke.

flouncy I think pale grey is a good choice. Not too dark, not too light. As for sickness, you deserve every penny. It was not your choice to be on sick leave.

I was entitled to have 2 days bereavement leave when Leo died. However he died the day before I had annual leave booked for 10 days as well and I stayed at home for an additional 3 days. My bosses wanted me to take more time off but I knew I had to go back and that actually going back was the best thing at that time. They were great.

bp did you get the puppy?

I would love to live in quiche land. Sophia would feed me, Det's toys would keep O entertained and pr and I would spend hours playing scrabble.

Zamboni · 10/12/2013 05:58

Want to live in quiche land too!

Sorry for all the illness, vomming and non-sleeping.

DH is ill too but I have a load of shit at work so he's still looking after the DC. Feeling like a shit mum because I'm not able to take time off because he is managing and I need to save taking time off for when I really need it, plus being busy at work, loads of politics and the start of silly season means I can't stick to office hours but have boozy events every evening. Sounds like fun but I'm missing bedtime 3 times this week and next week. Being home for bedtime is usually a good balance for working FT.

GTbaby · 10/12/2013 06:26

Shit pr. how are you now. Could try ice chips/ice lolly if you haven't kept the water down.

I'm moving to quiche land to get out of this house!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 06:37

Considering I hardly slept, spent a lot of time in the bathroom overnight etc etc I feel ok Hmm bit weak but the worst is over. Twelve hours ago my symptoms hadn't even started. Same as the girls. Keeping dd1 off nursery today but LO is going in and, I need to get up and doing, I thinki'll beok enough to go see the house.

Need to pop an, ahem, immodium though.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 10/12/2013 06:41

How about flouncy a very pale green! have a look at Dulux gooseberry fool in one of the lightest shades. Is lovely and would be v classy. But also I think a v pale french grey would go with your scheme.

Morning ((hug)) zamboni I think you are admirable and doing great. Xx

pr how are you feeling today? Sounds like the night was awful. Can DH be at home today to look after you?

eliza the last thing you need is a food issue. we have a sort of similar predicament. He wants to feed himself and won't let you do it. I get round it by having two spoons. Loading one and putting it on the mat in front of him, he picks up and eats. About two thirds of the way through and he doesn't notice me shovel some extra spoon fulls. He generally eats what we eat as like you I think family mealtimes are important. Spag Bol works well, with a bit of a pulse for him, I am doing sausage cass tonight and I would give m chopped up bits of sausage to pick up himself. Soup, thick, all the left over veg in the house thick, with bread which he dips in to keep himself entertained.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 08:13

Well LO dropped off at nursery, DD1 having a shower, eating OK, full of energy, house appointment moved back to 10am. Am still a bit squitty (sorry) but far better than I could have imagined a couple of hours ago .What a strange bug.

ChasingDaisy · 10/12/2013 08:24

I like the idea of a pale green too Flouncy.

A strange bug indeed PR. Thank goodness it seems to be on it's way out though. Sickness bugs are the worst.

Baby group Christmas party this morning. Wish I had a Christmas jumper to wear.

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/12/2013 08:53

Thanks sophia. A feeding issue is the last thing I need. DD1 has just had to feed her porridge as she just points to DD1 bowl on shouts. it's the same bloody porridge but when I give it to E she shakes her head. Might have to employ DD1 as full time food feeder. Have tried giving her a loaded spoon, I'll try shovelling stuff in her in between. I wish she could handle lumps.

pr glad you're feeling better. Hope the house view is a success.

flouncy is your kitchen open plan or separate? my friends have the same thing and have gone for white walls. I thought it woukd look clinical but actually looks nice. However if it were me I would inject a bit of colour into it. I look the idea of the grey and the green sounds lovely. Or you could do a shade of purple. Have to be carefull with that though as too light just goes to lilac and two dark can become a bit imposing.

off to take E to her swimming lesson now. It's so foggy here!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/12/2013 09:38

Didn't like the house. Felt uncomfortable there. Will stay put until something better comes up.

As for decorating flouncy I always prefer brighter colours so wouldn't pick grey necessarily.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 10/12/2013 09:46

My kitchen is off white cupboards with a black work top and an island unit that has charcoal cupboards and a grey white work top, we have gone for white walls for the time being, but my curtains are heather, pale green and pale grey. At some point I may inject some colour into a wall. But actually the fabric softens the starkness. (As do the dried weatabix blotches on the white wall behind Os place!)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 10/12/2013 09:47

Ahh well pr was obv not to be. The bug might have been telling you something before you went!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 10/12/2013 09:47

Must do ironing and stop procrastinating.

FlouncingIsles · 10/12/2013 10:32

Must do some studying and stop procrastinating....

Sorry the house wasn't meant to be pr . This bug was ghastly wasn't it? Sounds similar to what we all had.

Hiclarella ! I was thinking of you and G the other day fellow antenatal straggler Smile

Bedtime last night consisted of 5.5hrs of screaming. I hate that that was the only time I spent with her yesterday Sad Sad Sad

Lily311 · 10/12/2013 11:23

Just received O's photobook, it looks awesome. Made me teary seeing all those newborn and big girls pictures.

YellowWellies · 10/12/2013 11:29

J has an awful cough from a bug we've all had so was up being cuddled and watching the tree til midnight last night. He nodded off really quickly but each time a cough would wake him. He was so cross not to be asleep. DH even drove him (but the effing cat was miaowing on the door step and woke him!) - but he slept until nearly 10am! He's so snotty I hope the phlegm is finally coming out now Sad .

Isles boo to another shit bedtime. What's up? Is she still getting over her bug? Teef? DH not sticking to a bedtime routine? She's really struggled with her sleep poor love hasn't she, it must be horrible for you.

Well due to epic sleep in we've missed playgroup. Best wrap some pressure and peel him off the tree. Have left three token 'safe' decorations in his reach and everything else has been moved up the tree! Grin

YellowWellies · 10/12/2013 11:30

Wrap some *Pressies. Not pressure. Envy
