gt your a bloody saint!

E has also ignored the tree. It's only a 4 footer though and I've put it up high but I'm beginning to wonder if I could have got away with a big un. Ah well, next year.

Finished off a lovely christmassy weekend by watching Arthur Christmas. Never seen it before. I put it on for DD1. She got bored of it 10 mins in so I watched it after she'd gone to bed!

Hope all the poorly and teething babies recover and sleep well tonight. In fact I hope all the quiche babies sleep well, not just the poorly ones!

TheDetective · 08/12/2013 22:39

So far O has ignored the tree! It is baby proof, I'll pop a pic on fb now Grin. Although there was a lot of other stuff - tinsel, boxes, laptop (!!) on the floor for him to be distracted by. He sat watching us put the bloody thing up for 2 hours, bless him! In his highchair, like he'd ever sit on the floor watching!!

Horsey I am like your mum. I get them some new clothes, a dressing gown, slippers and underwear to last the year to bulk out the presents. As both my boys have winter birthdays they get some things for the garden/summer as part of their gifts at birthday and christmas. I also get toys that are suitable for playing with now, as well as later in the year.

I have bought O a lot of toys in his first year mostly second hand! I did with DS1, but after the first xmas/birthday, they really will only get new toys at birthday and christmas.

DS1 has been really difficult to buy for. 11 year old boys don't want toys. But they aren't grown up enough for lots of other stuff. So far he has a cheap tablet for his main present, a big pile of clothes - more expensive clothes than I would usually buy, along with a pair of DC trainers, which again, I wouldn't buy in the year he gets Next shoes!. I've got him a watch, some dvds, books, and american candy also. Oh, and a toaster Grin don't ask!. I've wrapped it all now, so can't remember anything else. Oh yeah, of course. Xbox games Hmm. All second hand - £25 for 6 games. And he will love them. :)

O has too much - as I'd bought them before his birthday where I realised it was daft to get him so much. I am going to keep some back for new years day, when we all have our first day off together and he can open some more then. :) We are also going to have a second christmas day so I may keep one present for DS1 and DP back for that day too. What do you think?

GT I don't know how you haven't lamped your MIL. Honestly. I'd like to offer on your behalf? Grin. Seriously though, you really need to persuade DH to move out. You have your own place, so he needs to just grow some balls and make his wife happy not his parents.

Misslaughalot · 08/12/2013 22:40

Well we brought O downstairs tonight after her bedtime for the first time ever. 3 hours of unsettled grumping seemed enough for us both to bear.

She was sick again after dinner tonight. Brought all of it back up onto the kitchen floor. I thought she was doing brilliantly as she ate it all, and I hoped she'd made up for being sick last night, but it seems something is up with her although she's fine in herself. So is it an empty tummy keeping her awake now or teething pain as she's pulling her dummy to the sides of her mouth and chewing on it?

DP has her back in her cot now but she's whinging again. Someone send that sleepy dust plane will ya?

PurplePidjin · 08/12/2013 22:41

I soak poundshop flannels in boiling water with a drop of teatree and store damp in a freezer bag to use as wipes which keeps most of the rash at bay. Couple of chamomile teabags in the bath, or paint his bum with egg white (if not intolerant of course!) Best cure I've found is a couple of days in cotton fitteds with wool longies instead of plastic nappy covers. Lets things air out nicely!

flouncymcflouncerson · 08/12/2013 22:50

Egg would be a no no here Due to allergy but I like the sound of the tea tree stuff...

ChasingDaisy · 08/12/2013 23:04

Ooh excellent tips Pidj! I have both tea tree oil and chamomile teabags so will try them both out tomorrow Smile

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/12/2013 01:33

We have just had midnight poo and nappy rash. Unheard of. I have used metanium, usually works a treat. Just waiting for him to resettle.

I spent the evening wrapping Os pressies. I will do DS1s tomorrow and the girls I will do when I get to England on Fri. I haven't gone too mad but they each have a decent stash. For the boys they get a new pair of pjs and a Christmas book for story time on Christmas Eve. A few main pressies on Christmas Day and stockings on Boxing Day to spread it all out. Stockings for DS1 is a few bits of extra train track and some extra trains, a milk tanker and a car transporter train I think and O gets some sock moccasin slippers a new dribble bib a push along bus and a toot too car.

ValiumQueen · 09/12/2013 01:59

Been up since midnight so less than 2 hours sleep. J has a fever and has vommed everywhere. He is now going from laughing to crying. I am so sick of this. Still, first time he has vommed in a month.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/12/2013 02:06

Shall I make us a Brew vq?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/12/2013 02:07

Tell you what, I am awake now, you sleep I will take him. If only hey. Xx

ValiumQueen · 09/12/2013 02:18

If only. Braving another bottle as his temp has come down. I am so tired and I am at work today too.

Evilwater · 09/12/2013 04:15

N has been crying for a hour. He's clean, and now fed, had painkillers and just won't stop. He wants to get up and play, or for me to cuddle him to sleep, but I can't do that any more as my back hurts.

Evil

Evilwater · 09/12/2013 04:27

Hurry one sleepy child.

vq passing the sleepy fairy to you.

Pikz · 09/12/2013 05:45

I've seen very hour. He is now completely hysterical.

Doctors again for us today.

Kyz · 09/12/2013 06:36

Sounds like some shit nights guys :( Brew all round and plenty of hugs

Pikz · 09/12/2013 06:53

If anyone sees a woman on the m3 crying whilst sat in a traffic jam it's me.

Kyz · 09/12/2013 07:11

Oh pikz massive hugs, things sound really tough for you at the minute :(

ValiumQueen · 09/12/2013 07:29

Big hugs Pikz x I hope the Dr is helpful and kind.

J slept from 3 to 6 so I feel a bit better. He woke hot but is loud and lively with it so he will be dosed up and sent to nursery. It is likely jags and teeth and a cold all rolled up in one.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 07:53

Bollocks to the bad nights :(

DH home with LO who is fine, DD1 at nursery and I'm sat waiting for the GP.

TheDetective · 09/12/2013 08:02

Pikz :( strong Brew and a hug for you!

O woke at 5ish. DP got up. He wasn't settling with his cloth, cuddle or sheep, so DP employed the feed the fuck to sleep routine seriously, you are too fucking old for night feeds now!!!!!!.

Anyway, it was all sorted in 10 minutes or so.

So why couldn't I go back to sleep? I know I had just woke a minute or so before O did, and was ready to drift back off. I reckon O waking disturbed it, then my body just decided fuck it, she doesn't need to sleep.

Now I'm tired as I was up Christmas shopping online afuckingain til well after midnight. Idiot.

I wouldn't mind, but me, DP and DS1 are up. O is knocking back the zzz's still.

Christmas markets for us today. We are getting the train. I am very excited. I hope O doesn't scream the train down.

He screamed the car down when we went to MCR last time, hence deciding on the train. In the hope that we don't get stuck on the line. He's fine moving. Just don't stop whatever you do!!!

ChasingDaisy · 09/12/2013 08:10

(((((Pikz)))) BrewBrewBrewBrew

ditsygal · 09/12/2013 08:23

Brew for all that need it this morning. I'll join you in having one too - F is now waking up between 4.30 and 5 each morning. Not crying sleepy like usual night wakings but wide awake stood up in the cot thinking it is morning. I then have to cuddle him in his room in the dark until he either goes back to sleep, or more likely. until it is 6am and therefore a reasonable hour to start the day.
My DH doesn't seem to get why this makes me grumpy - he thinks I should be getting plenty of sleep before 4.30 and shouldn't be complaining. We had a big row this morning and it ended up turning into being about him wanting a 2nd child when I really don't and how much that upsets him. When I am sleep deprived and grumpy is not the time for THAT discussion!

ditsygal · 09/12/2013 08:24

Oh and GT you have the patience of a saint. I would have yelled at a lot of people by now! hugs

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 08:31

I think someone in the waiting room just took my picture. Was using his phone then suddenly held it in my direction looking at me. Fucking freak.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 08:31

While writing that he did it to someone else too.
