I suspected the cup was a no no so will stick with just offering it when I get up to her.

I have my eye on a wee house that is comfortably in my price bracket. The flat is wishful thinking Smile

FlouncingIsles · 07/12/2013 21:39

Hugs pikz. Crap, isn't it? Sad

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/12/2013 21:40

I too lusting over that flat!

Further to discussions this evening with the boss am just joy ing what a lifeline this quiche has been as I moved from being a working mum In suburban Berkshire to a SAHM in the wilds of Northern
Ireland with on,y close family as friends. So thanks ladies. You are all stunning. Thanks

horseylady · 07/12/2013 21:58

Fingers crossed about the house!!!!

I love property searching!!!! I wish there was a career in just looking at properties lol

horseylady · 07/12/2013 22:01

pikz I have cleaned the carpet so many times is ds room. Still stinks of vom. When the drs came to examine him they stood well back. He covered several people while in hospital.

I'm in love with omezerpole. Shame we've only got a weeks worth :(

horseylady · 07/12/2013 22:03

Why does my phone always change the spelling???!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/12/2013 22:11

horsey won't they prescribe more than a week? Good luck with your job application.

vq loved your comments earlier about being so valued at work.

Was dinner good sophia ?

I'm warming to the house I saw for rent today. Popped down the road to look at it from the outside (it's actually on the same street). The garden is very dog friendly, well enclosed and masses of trees to pee on. Also v private, could hardly see in to the garden, which would be nice in summer. As would the trees with shade. Only one neighbour as it is right at the beginning of the road. Need to think about it as it is a bit more expensive than here. But if I fall in love with it on Tuesday I will work a way round that.

Jims · 07/12/2013 22:13

just checking in to say that just saw the thread in active and I love the title. So so very true in our house. I've already caught F banging a couple of baubles together several times as he likes the noise. A keeps taking things off the tree and moving them to a different place.

Will try and catch up but hope illness has left the building for everyone and good nights are being had by all

ChasingDaisy · 07/12/2013 22:15

Horsey you could be employed as a property hunter person. Like what Kirstie & Phil do Grin

VQ I also loved your post about how awesome you are at work. I've said it before but you are a proper superwoman.

Sophia I also think you are completely awesome. I want you to adopt me please.

And PR well, you've been my saviour.

Can you tell I'm hormonal, in a soppy mood and eating chocolate?

Pikz · 07/12/2013 22:23

Can I copy what chasing said!

VQ it's been a month now since he got ill then broncholitis then chest infection and now so much snot and cough that he coughs til he pukes up piles of sticky mucus.

I don't know how you have coped with J being on and off ill for so long. A month has nearly broken me.

Horsey how is E?

Made a project tonight to cheer myself up. Photo on Facebook but it was a look back at the last year.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/12/2013 22:31

Tree up and decorated by DD1. Strictly watched, chinese consumed, elf watched and now having a baileys. Feeling very relaxed apart from the odd crying bout from E due to teeth, cold, reflux, anything!. I hope she doesn't vom in her bed again tonight.

pidj I hope you went to the pub. I would have in your shoes.

yw Hope you enjoyed your night out and managed to stay compus mentus sort of.

pikz Sad

Pikz · 07/12/2013 22:39

YW how drunk are you Grin

Ls best vom today was his entire lunch in pizza express all over the high chair, him and the floor... Bet the other diners loved it!

PurplePidjin · 07/12/2013 22:40

I went Xmas Grin

Why no cup in cot?

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/12/2013 22:53

pikz Ouch! Wouldn't have bothered me if I was there. In fact I'd have felt right at home!

pidj yay for pub. I too was wondering why no cup in cot.

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 23:49

Pikz lovely project picture.
Might get crafty soon.

flouncymcflouncerson · 08/12/2013 03:44

Hello people. I'm up waiting on Dh coming home from his night out. We're staying at my parents as I can't be alone with kids so thins was easiest way. Will be odd sleeping in mY old room with a boy!

YellowWellies · 08/12/2013 06:07

Night out was awesome . Just doing first night feed. (Hoping he doesn't want to start the day now as I didn't get in til 1am). Slightly gratifyingly he was up every hour for DH Grin .

Isles luuuuuuush flat but cor with the expensive council tax in that village we'd need a third income for that flat to be affordable and it's only 2 bedrooms (and DH earns enough that we're no longer able to get child benefit). It's amazing where it all goes when you have a property to maintain that you really need to be cautious on affordability especially given interest rates can only go one way. I guess banks used to lend 3x single, 2.5x joint salary for a reason.

You have expensive tastes like me! Grin How is M doing? Are you feeling better? What a crappy way to spend your first weekend after starting your new job Sad .

Pikz awwww poor wee chap.

Flouncy that's funny Smile .

My head is only slightly sore....... but I think there could be a hangover brewing. Taking J to meet Santa later - with a hangover - bad Mummy! Confused

Then we get our tree..... the pup will be fine but J? It's toast..... Envy

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/12/2013 06:39

Dinner was brilliant thanks pr I started my evening with a cosmopolitan and ended it with a cosmopolitan. In between I had some really delicious food, a spring rolly thing, followed by duck, followed by a chocolate pave and a fab bottle of Bordeaux. All very Masterchef. The restaurant was small but really bustling. I finished the evening v tipsy but not pickled which was great. And had some nice cuddles when we got home. Xmas Smile

I now have the full blown family cold, but don't care I am a happy girl.

I love your project pikz looks ace! I should finish the boys really.

Glad you had a good night too yw hope your head isn't too bad this morning. Mine is ok actually. Just snot filled and a sore throat.

Pikz · 08/12/2013 06:58

Eliza did you have a vom free night?

PP how was pub?

Sophia sounds so lovely and hope your colds not too bad

YW fingers crossed on the hangover!

VQ did you get some sleep?

Pr is it today you seethe house?

Well we made it to 5.30 with snot buckets. God knows what I'm going to do tomorrow as it's only my 2nd week at work and not sure he will make a full long day at nursery.

Pikz · 08/12/2013 06:58

Oh and GT am loving the photos! Awesome!

ValiumQueen · 08/12/2013 07:20

Yes thank you Pikz Smile Not the best night, but not the worst either. I feel I had enough sleep, i.e. more than 4 hours. As you get older you don't need as much sleep apparently Wink

Hmm, the sippy cup in the cot issue...... Lots of parents do, lots of parents don't. The reasons why I don't are as follows:

My kids drink the entire content of every cup they are given, often resulting in vomiting, especially when small.

My kids piss for Scotland as it is, without adding yet more fluids into the equation.

I have yet to find a non-leak sippy cup that doesn't leak.

It could be used as a missile.

My boy wakes up if he touches anything, so rolling onto a sippy cup would result in several hours screaming probably.

My boy can choke on air it seems, so I would not risk leaving him in the cot with a drink. I never let my kids eat or drink anything unsupervised until at least 3. M is unwell so any risk of choking would be increased. Some may think they will not choke on water at this age, but it is not a risk I would be prepared to take.

Even now the girls are big they do not have a drink by their beds unless poorly. There is one on the landing, so if they paddle out I hear them. They are not allowed to drink too much, otherwise there are wet beds and/or vom.

ValiumQueen · 08/12/2013 07:24

Pikz J was particularly poorly the last week I was off and the first three weeks I was back, so I empathise. It was hideous trying to work knowing that at any moment you could get that call. Now I happily toddle into work and barely give him a passing thought until it is time to go home, as I know he is safe and happy, and doing quite well health-wise at the moment. (Touches everything wooden) Grin

ValiumQueen · 08/12/2013 07:39

And thank you for your very kind comments Blush

Pikz · 08/12/2013 07:47

Glad to hear of sleep in the quiche and in VQs!

Any thoughts on humidifiers and any recommendations? X

ValiumQueen · 08/12/2013 08:12

I have one Pikz. Can't say it has made any difference, but I guess I should get it out of the box and turn it on. Although I guess it has worked, as I haven't needed it since I bought it. PR swears by them though.
