Flouncy how's about spag bol, shepherd's pie (just make mash with vitalite and oat milk), dairy free fish pie (make a vitalite / oat milk 'roux'), dairy free pizza (loads of toppings just no cheese) veg curry and rice, tagine and couscous, roast dinner leftovers, sandwiches.....

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2013 23:24

Well my lovely peaceful evening wrapping presents was disturbed by a vom covered E. Think I've managed to resettle her. Everytime she gets a slight sniffle, up comes the vom. Always in bed. Bloody snot, bloody reflux, bloody vom. Ooo check me being all polite with my swearing!

GTbaby · 06/12/2013 23:25

Hugs to all.
Went to visit a nursery today
It was nice. Really got a good feeling about it. Each age group has separate areas and separate outdoor areas. And outdoor areas are all covered. Food is cooked on site. It's a chain place. Only issue is as we want two days only (their min is 3) they will give us Monday and Friday, if we want 3days we can pick. However we loose out because of bank holidays because they close but we still pay for them.
Bil tells me this is the case everywhere. Dh would rather pay for 3days then have 2 and waste money on Mondays. Also they don't do term time only so when I go back to work I would end up paying for an extra 13 weeks a year for each baby.
Is this the same with your nurseries?

But I like it. So going to talk about it next week as dh is on night shifts for a few days.

A is being a milk monster. Confused Got about half an hour rest to eat and do pile of washin up left by mil Hmm

But I'm going out with sis tomorrow. Painting Xmas baubles at a pottery cafe Grin so looking forward to that

Also ordered my photo collage mugs and did an amazon order for Xmas gifts. Even had eye brows threaded today! Feeling quite productive.

Feeling alot happier then a few days ago. Kinda more able to do stuff and do it without being overwhelmed. IYSWIM

So I got FH in out family SS. Confused I've already bought him a gift. Which ill give him as Anyway, but cant five as SS as its over budget and there will be outrage. but now need to buy him somehow else that's £15. No food or drink. And ideas?

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2013 23:27

I am no good at acroynms at the best of times. vq I hope you explain tomorrow.

Did anyone watch Graham Norton? How awful is Daniel Radcliffes hair! I'm assuming it's for a role. Oooo Grahams just commented on it. Thank goodness it wasn't of his own choosing.

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2013 23:31

Yes gt. That's my understanding of private nurseries. Glad you're feeling more like your usual self. As for present for DH, only thing I can think of for less than £15 is a CD, DVD, bluray. Prob not much help.

GTbaby · 06/12/2013 23:37

Interesting about conspiracy theories.

Arghhhh I was doing so well and now forgot what else I wanted to comment on.

Something for vQ. Have a hug as I can't remember what I was going to say.

Chasing glad its not a bug

And breath Smile

GTbaby · 06/12/2013 23:42

Eliza good ideas but he only listens to punjabi music Confused and he has all cd he wants. And he is not a movie person. Only telly he watches it eastenders and that's because it's the only thing we do together. We have no other interests or hobbies in common.
My gift is always the best of our SS. I bed to keep this up. Last year I customised a guess who board so it included our family pictures and year before that I bought a game thing where you have two Velcro hats and balls and play catch with them. We played with them all night. I need to buy the best gift again!
Imaginative /unique/ fun. Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 23:58

Just watched Now You See Me. Fab film for v fluffy action. Really enjoyed it. Ending obviously set up for a series and a tad naff, but a great easy film to watch.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/12/2013 00:02

Sorry, I don't do imagnitaive/creative etc so that rules me out gt. I love the sound of your guess who game.

Right, getting drunken texts from DH so time to go to bed so I can make sure pretend I'm asleep when he gets in to avoid his ramblings.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/12/2013 00:09

flouncy I'd turn to Annabel Karmel's Complete Baby and Toddler weaning book for ideas. Not necessarily x-free but adaptable flavours, the purees don't need to be pureed and you can add or substract ingredients as needed. Right back to basics with basic stocks for flavouring. I know AK is Hmm 'd at on here but I am sure you will find basic recipes to work from. Don't look at it as a huge complicated process. Go back to the very beginning of introducing foods and look at what she has, mixes, and blend cooked ingredients only as necessary. At the end of the book you have solid recipes, most of which will be fine or adaptable. At the beginning are purees which you can just not puree, or keep the veg ones as side dishes to slices of ham or roast chicken.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/12/2013 00:12

Ooh I have some Dan Radcliffe gossip. Not to do with his former drink problem. Daren't say on here....

Anyone been on the coca cola Santa truck tour? Apparently coke went right round the uk this year. Nice.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/12/2013 00:30

I mean this book: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0091924855

flouncymcflouncerson · 07/12/2013 01:05

Thanks yw and pr it's tricky as well cos he's only been eating since 10months old he's only recently moved onto lumpier things. We had a choking incident recently which frightened the hell out of me so I'm a bit scared of things he has to really chew IYSWIM. He choked on some mince as I was feeding him and I can't lift him so had to scream for my mum. Thankfully she was only about 6 steps away or I would have just lifted him, I feel bad that I didn't but I can't risk the surgery failing more than I'm sure it has.

I'm intrigued By your gossip...

TheDetective · 07/12/2013 01:16

GT I've got a good one! Bop It. It's awesome! We played it all Christmas Day! In fact we have a couple of versions!

Flouncy I have a couple of ideas we use. Chicken stew (we eat it too!) goes down a storm. It's just chicken, veg, water, cornflower to thicken, stock cubes, fresh rosemary and thyme. If you want quantities let me know. We make a massive pot and it does 4 of us for dinner, left overs for lunch for 2 plus 5 pots for O!!

O loves to have bread dipped in it Grin.

I'm sure I have another. Will be back.

YellowWellies · 07/12/2013 03:05

Det GT OMG bop-it is sooooo addictive it's fecking BRILLIANT! Glad to hearing you more like yourself GT having two babes so wee is bound to be a rollercoaster emotionally, hormonally and in so many other ways - but you really are doing a great job.

Grin to pretending to be asleep Eliza

Flouncy that must have terrified you Shock. Poor you. Are you worried the surgery hasn't worked? Det that stew sounds yum!

Right, I'm going to curse it but hopefully that's our only night feed done for tonight....

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 04:28

Det good idea! Think it will be my fall back option. Ideally I want to customise a game again. The guess who was so good I wanted to keep it lol. But don't know what game.
Bought some "what would you rather" and debate cards for Xmas day.
I have bought plain Xmas stockings for all 7 kids which im going to customise with their initials. and will put a few party bag toys in them. And in H and As stockings I'm going to put a few games that we can all play on the day.

Is there anywhere online you can get pictionary and charades ideas? For free that I can just print ?
Off to google... But if anyone knows please let me know Wink

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 04:29

Should t I be asleep. Damn it. In wide awake Hmm
And I've managed to transfer A into cot. I NEED to sleep!
Googling put off. Going to try really hard to fall asleep... Watch this space lol

ValiumQueen · 07/12/2013 04:39

Fucking Twatty Bastard Wanking Cunting Husband Grin

ValiumQueen · 07/12/2013 04:53

Up for ages with J. Had to wake H to deal with DD2 three times Grin usually I deal with them all, but I couldn't tonight.

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 04:54

That's how I feel to sometimes VQ. Although fh has been very good recently. Not on the drink side. But on the helping me side. At times I do feel like I'm being unreasonable and he is being pulled in so many directions with us and PIL but he has been very good at handling the pressure.

Argh. I'm not asleep. Lol

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 05:39

It's not fucking fair. A has been asleep in his cot for over an hour. FH is on night shift. I have the bed to myself! And I can't fucking sleep Confused

GTbaby · 07/12/2013 05:54

And a is back in bed. Maybe I just can't sleep without him now Shock
Fml

Lily311 · 07/12/2013 06:21

Morning,

Insomnia kicked in at 4.30 so used the time to build my new bed. It's done, yey! Need to tackle the chest of drawers and some other shit but now having porridge. I miss my baby girl, I saw her for 30 min yesterday:(. She is having fun with my mum and dad though, they should drop her off at 2.

Nothing else to report, feeling really down. I received a letter yesterday about the paternity case in the uk, I submitted the papers to the court in April. They lost them:(. Just want to curl up and cry. I will put the letter on Facebook, it's just pathetic.

Right better go and sort the flat out while I'm baby free.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/12/2013 07:09

Oh lily this all sounds awful. I am so sorry. Maybe you should have a cry, you have reason. On the plus side you have put your bed together which is totally amazing. Spesh given the unearthly hour. Big snuggly ((((hugs)))))

Seems like there were a few of you padding around mumsnet in your pyjamas last night.

All this talk about dairy free to send to nursery takes me back to the days of DD1. She would have lots of constipation problems too ( Infact we were blue lighted to hosp on one occasion because she had a blockage in her stomach v scary) so I would do slow cooked lamb with apricots stew, taginey thing, I would do fish pies too and make cheese sauces to go on things using hard goats cheese and goats milk. As she was allowed that at the time. Fish pie is a good one as the fish mashes up easliy and you get that texture I think you are looking for flouncy I tend to pulse mince stuff a bit till they are a bit older as I find a lot of children don't like the grainy mince texture but they love the taste and spag Bol, lasagne, moussaka, shep pie are all such a good way of getting a balanced meal into them that they love. The girls used to love pancakes with spinach and goats cheese melted in. I would send that rolled and cut into bits in a roll of tinfoil. I haven't tried it with the boys, must do that.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/12/2013 07:35

Awful night. My fault. Watched film til late. Finally fell asleep at half two. And that's where it stops being my fault. Woke up at 4 due to heating being on too high. Had to go turn it down. Got back to sleep and DD1 slapped me in her sleep at 6. Should have gone to bed earlier but we got to watch a film.
