I just heard the news. It's going to be a very sad day. I remember watching on tv when he first got out of prison and feeling very emotional about it all. And he's brought so much change and hope to so many people. Its crazy that South Africa was 'allowed' to be legally racist for so long but this man did so much good in a country with so much hate. You guys were talking about degrees, i did my degree in publishing and luckily i am able to work in the publishing industry. today is going to be manic.

Feeling a bit emotional today, can you tell? Cried yesterday when dh asked if it was okay him feeding H, crying again now. Why is bf such an emotional subject. I know what it is is what it is, and I just need to move forward, but I miss feeding him, it was our time and now it's gone. I feel like I hardly see the boy as dh does the feeds now (for now) and expressing just takes me back to when H was in the scbu and the early days at home and trying to establish bf.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 06/12/2013 06:46

Well. Funnily enough, I heard the other week that he had died in the summer and it was being covered up. Then I thought, has he died?

Me "DH, has NM died?"
DH " oh yes"

I just felt stupid like I had missed a major piece of news not unusual I never seem to get to watch the news anymore only on Gigglebiz

Why would they cover it up though? Anyway that is what I heard.

Everyone still asleep. I love this, I am up, dressed, slap on, dishwasher emptied, DHs lunch simmering on stove. And, still, everyone sleeps. Shhhhhhhhh.

ValiumQueen · 06/12/2013 07:04

Chick, having fed all three of mine, the first two longer than J obviously, I can empathise with how emotional it all is. BF is about sustaining life of a very important little person, when you break it down physically, and there are loads of hormones around, not to mention that it is lovely (when it goes fairly smoothly anyway). If you are not feeding your baby, on a very basic instinct level you will think it is starving, but you know this is not the case. When I stopped feeding the girls I felt that they no longer needed me, and I kinda had to rebuild the relationship in a slightly different way. This was all about my thoughts, not theirs, because I guarantee that babies love there mummies soo much, regardless of how they are fed. This too will pass x

I love how Luis just swoops in like a superhero and then quietly leaves again until the next time the quiche need him Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 06/12/2013 07:23

Where is the super hero icon?

LuisGarcia · 06/12/2013 08:42

What kind of lameass superhero only turns up when the problem is already fixed?

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 09:23

Luis what was your other job? Lexicographer?

chick I am sad about the news too. He had a profound effect on so many people all over the world. Thought Obama's statement was very heartfelt. Cameron on the other hand... It's easy to forget now how vile Britain was towards him in the 80s...

Ran into the chest physio this morning. He was walking into nursery as I was leaving, he looked at me and said, are your two here? Said yes. He said well I look forward to seeing you and your beautiful dog again soon then, and laughed.

Which makes him sound cold, which you may remember I may have described him as last year, among the sweariness, but he just has quite a dark sense of humour. As do I, so no harm done. But I really hope that we don't have to see him. LO isn't coughing much, but when she does she gobs up loads of phlegm, a real smoker's cough, which at least means it's not stuck down in her lungs yet. Maybe she'll escape this round.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 09:24

Ooh a lameass superhero who only turns up when the problems are solved and promises to do better next time. There's a story in that.

LuisGarcia · 06/12/2013 09:30

Hedge fund analyst.

Thechick · 06/12/2013 09:38

Thanks VQ that's exactly how I feel, redundant. But my logical mind knows that I'm still needed!! (Kind of)
PR its very sad. I shed a tear and I never cry at deaths of people I don't know!!

ChasingDaisy · 06/12/2013 09:43

A superhero with non sleeping children and therefore diminished reflexes?

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 09:43

DH works mainly in PE but some hedge. I'm in REIF. Or was. But not as analysts.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 09:44

A superhero too busy on wwf not that I'm bitter

PurplePidjin · 06/12/2013 12:41
PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 12:42

Quiet today.

Hope you're all being productive and not lazy like me.. I did go and collect my dry cleaning though. Life on the edge...

PetiteRaleuse · 06/12/2013 12:43

I bet pidj when will you hear how it went.

ChasingDaisy · 06/12/2013 12:44

Just had a lovely visit from an old uni friend who lives in London. 'Twas lovely Smile

TheDetective · 06/12/2013 12:47

I'm being lazy. :) I have slept a lot. O not so much but oh well Hmm.

I was going to go out. Now cba. Online shopping instead. Fed up of Christmas shopping. It's doing my head in now.

O is whingy. Very whingy. But he's troughing his way through a back of satsuma's which seems to be appeasing him for now.

I craved tangerines and all similar fruit when up duffed. Luckily O now loves them. He obvs didn't get sick of them in utero Grin.

Today is tomato day. Was too tired yesterday. Will do it at tea time as he's just had chicken stew for dinner as I forgot.

Duh.

Lily311 · 06/12/2013 12:47

I'm in ikea. Enough said.

TheDetective · 06/12/2013 12:48

A back?! Stupid phone. A pack obvs.

fruitpastilles · 06/12/2013 12:55

I have a very hot whingey bright red cheeked girl. Teething sucks, she still only has 2 and has all the symptoms of teething yet still no more teeth. I think she's got thrush in her mouth aswell. Off to the docs at 4.
She did sit nice and quietly on my lap having cuddles for ages though Smile

PurplePidjin · 06/12/2013 12:58

No idea pr am assuming it'll be a "we'll call you" then you never hear from them again Hmm

The little Rafapiller was very hungry. On Friday he at 1.5 weetabix, 2 slices of toast, a banana and a satsuma for breakfast, a slice of cheese on toast 4 breadsticks a rice cake a fromage frais a pear and a banana for lunch... Well, he's just slowing up 3/4 down the second banana but OMG, growth spurt?!?! Shock can you over feed a demand-fed 1yo? I'm just holding the banana and he's reaching for it while I'm typing onthe tablet so I'm not encouraging him or owt Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 06/12/2013 13:00

I went and had coffee with the woman I wasn't sure about having coffee with. Still not sure but kept the converstIon high level, the boys were good and it all went ok. Phew. All over with. For a bit.

O asleep.

DS1been pinched by nanny so it is Sophia whirlwind time. Sorted out the rubbish, cleaned the fire and set it for later, ow to tackle the remnants of lunch that are strewn all around the place.

Thing of pidj and yw

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2013 13:08

glad your coffee went ok sophia. At least it's done.

I've gone into panic mode. You know I've been trying to move since pretty much forever....at least since E has been born. Well I've just had an email from our solicitors saying that it could be a pre Christmas completion date. No fucking way can I move before Christmas! Hoping there will be someone other than me in the chain that delays it. Bugger.
