Just remembered to check my SS excited.

Very quick catch up before I FINALLY go to bed. Today has been crap.

I moved M onto follow on milk (the red tin of sma?) about 2/3 months ago after a mad panic when tescos were sold out of the first one. It is cheaper too and she is coping fine. We've managed a switch to cow's milk with breakfast drink and a wee cup during the day. I will switch the last bedtime bottle after the last two tins of ff run out. This is the only 'bottle' she gets now and I am in two minds about whether to switch it to a cup.

P and I had a massive domestic in IKEA today. It was very embarrassing. I can't even remember how it started, but the reassurance that every time every fucking time I think I am making a mistake leaving, he re-elects himself as prize prick. I think I am beginning to hate him. His card was also declined so I ended up paying. Fucker.

What was pissing me off and I've been thinking about it all night and see his points about the mc. To be honest I am over it already. I have learnt to just get on with life when things happen - down to having stillborn and depression before I believe - and he does have the same approach to everything (the let it go over your head aNd not bother you approach)

Perhaps I was having a brain overload with everything happening and being on my own for 16 hours today and tomorrow out its toll on me to have a moan.

I'm normally very quiet and just plod along watching everyone else's life lol xx

He's generally a little vandal, he empties toilet rolls, growls at the postman and bites. He's still very adorable though.

charlee you can be as pragmatic as you like about a mc - I was v cool about mine - but you can't control the hormones which do control your feelings and reactions to all kinds of unrelated issues. Take it easy, let life be for a few weeks. Things will get better.

I need some quiche wisdom. I did that thing where you think you are ordering single carrots. And you are not. You are ordering bags of carrots. And I ordered 7. carrot recipe ideas if you please. Can I Blanche some and out aside ready for Chrimbo.

Anyway. To exacerbate the issue. I thought I was ordering those little pots of ready cut pineapple for DH! He likes them in his lunches. I usually get 4. So I have 4 pineapples. Double but I think I can share those around the SILs will have one each and we would eat 2.

soph no idea, i put carrots in soup but 7 bags would fester in my garage until I ended up chucking them. I love grated raw carrot with a nice salad dressing though. Which would use up a carrot.

Carrot and Chickpea Salad with Fried Almonds

1/2 cup sliced almonds
4 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 large garlic clove, roughly chopped (about 2 teaspoons)
2 cups packed fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon sweet smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt
8 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
Two cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 pound carrots, peeled and coarsely grated

1 Put the almonds in a single layer in a tray in a cold oven. Turn the oven to 200. After a few minutes check they are not burnt (They should gently toast to a golden brown).

In a food processor, combine the lime juice, garlic, 1 and 3/4 cups of the coriander, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and half of the almonds. Pulse until chopped. Add the olive oil and some chickpeas and process to a chunky paste. Transfer to a large bowl and toss with the carrots and chickpeas. Season to taste with more salt and pepper as desired. Chop the remaining coriander and sprinkle over salad, along with the remaining almonds.

Makes a good sandwich or wrap filling, too.

You could make lots of carrot (& orange?) muffins and freeze them. Ditto carrot soup.

PR I shudder at your spider stories. I found a massive dead one on the floor and am still traumatised by the notion that I trod on it. I shake out towels and nightwear because of you (also hats scarves & shoes).
