Thanks fruit and isles Smile. His skin isn't too bad at the moment - just dry, so trying to keep on top of it. I was just prescribed the Aveeno cream isles which I use twice a day. I got two big bottles so should last a while. I was anticipating a battle to get it prescribed but he did it no questions asked - didn't even ask to see O's skin Hmm

FlouncingIsles · 19/11/2013 14:48

I've said it before 1000 times but a scoop of porridge oats tied in a muslin and dumped into a bath of just water then used as like a sponge to wash her is the only thing that finally got on top of M's skin Grin

flouncymcflouncerson · 19/11/2013 15:32

I don't know why he didn't do my womb. Seems a bit daft cos if it needs done now I'll be taking another bed, another anaesthetic etc. I honestly don't feel like it's worked though as I sneezed yesterday and it feels odd. I'm hoping it's just swelling or something tho. Won't find out til 6 week post op check.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/11/2013 15:49

isles that did the trick for O too as I did it when he had the pox and all his eczema disappeared.

PurplePidjin · 19/11/2013 15:50

YW if i could spare the postage I'd say yes like a shot Thanks but am trying to find a trade for my wrap, plus have the library if needed - by the time the current one is due back and I've tried a mei tai for a month the geography of where i live means i won't need one as much hopefully

Horsey he's fine to drive, was banned for a month then told to use his judgement Hmm

PR I'm thinking of bowing out unless everyone is happy to risk a homemade silly hat?

Zamboni if you can spare the time i could use some advice (professional) by pm. But only if you're happy with that Thanks

Thank you for R's birthday wishes. We've had cake at bf group lots of teenies so hopefully the mums will see it's normal to carry on then lunch with my mum and "aunt" (family friend)and spread presents out, a couple first thing, one at group, one each from grandma and aunty, and MILs turned up in the post so he'll get that later after his walk with daddy.

On the subject of isolation, i probably have more friends now than ever! There are 8/9 of us with babies 8m+ who met at bf group and we've kind of huddled together, letting each other know when we're going to a play group etc. We started as a bit of an anti pnd movement making new mums to the group welcome, the rule is if your baby is calm you make the tea for everyone else :o i had a nice chat today with one who's back to work soon and might want a nanny and another one is high powered and commuting and happy to pay me to collect her dc from nursery if her train is delayed or dc ill etc. I had to get out there at the beginning though, which was easier for me than some due to vb and having everything on my doorstep iyswim. Also that lots of "people like us" attitude not financial status, we're a pretty mixed bunch socio-economically had babies at the same time Hmm

TheDetective · 19/11/2013 16:54

pidj if it was me, I'd absolutely adore a hat. Homemade all the better!!

Also, that's how it works in our group as well, we have a group chat convo on Facebook and send messages if anyone is making plans for the day! I've put a message today as I'm planning on going the playgroup I went to the other week, this Thursday. :) hopefully at least one will come so I don't look like a Billy no mates again!

ChasingDaisy · 19/11/2013 17:07

There's a mum at my baby group who has a baby born the day before O. I think we are edging closer to exchanging numbers. It's like dating Grin going to bite the bullet next time and ask her. The next group is the day before her boy's birthday and two days before O's so they will get happy birthday sung to them Smile

Zamboni · 19/11/2013 17:17

pidj fire away Grin

YellowWellies · 19/11/2013 17:29

Pidj a hat would be awesome I hope J gets you in secret Santa! Will dig out the mei tai - don't worry about postage lovely it's only light. PM me your address Smile

PurplePidjin · 19/11/2013 17:53
Thanks
Lily311 · 19/11/2013 17:54

pidj I would love a hat. I love homemade things.

Just blew up balloons, I hate doing that. I made a cake and put a banter up. Guess who is turning one tmrw?? I was true to myself and only got her one book. I have another one from my best friend for her and a vest from another friend. My mum is making her an advent calendar, will post a pic up on Facebook as it looks awesome. I'm taking her to the zoo and will spoil her with cuddles and kisses.

Took her to health visitor and she is 76.5 cm and 20lb 15oz. She is on 50th for weight and 75th on height, dropped from 98th on both. Not sure who asked but she only put on 2lbs in 5 months.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/11/2013 18:27

lily I love homemade advent calendars. One year I will do one each for the girls but only when they are old enough to be trusted not to break it

ValiumQueen · 19/11/2013 18:51

Pidj we all want a hat. Possibly not a boob one though Grin

ValiumQueen · 19/11/2013 18:53

Had feedback about the interview. I was streets ahead and then I crashed and burned. I know exactly where I failed and we had a laugh about it Grin I am allowed to apply again so I will. And I will not crash this time.

It seems being pro-active is working at work. A good day with many many emails sent Grin

ChasingDaisy · 19/11/2013 19:08

I want a Pidj hat! I think PR might be receiving a few bribes as we'll all want pidj as our Secret Santa Wink

ChasingDaisy · 19/11/2013 19:17

The kindness in this quiche is overwhelming sometimes. I'm so glad that such a wonderful group of people had babies in November Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 19/11/2013 20:11

Good vq it's great they gave you something to work from :)

I wanted a November baby. Well, a Scorpio baby. I tried and tried to get them to postpone the ELCS by a week but good job they didn't, LO was impatient and was pretty much on her way anyway...

ChasingDaisy · 19/11/2013 20:40

I ordered a December baby. Damn my small bump meaning he had to be born early.

YellowWellies · 19/11/2013 20:48

Maaaaaaan I need a wood burner or a slanket (!!) it's fookin Baltic tonight Shock

Evilwater · 19/11/2013 21:01

Hello all,
Thanks for all your help with the threads, hopefully it will build up a picture of p.

Another productive day, I have my keys. p texted me and this is what he says.

Ok thanks.
I haven't boxed anything yet because then you may have problem to find your stuff. If there is anything you would like me to box then you must let me know.
Car insurance, break down cover are still active but on this address, so you have to get them on your name and your new address, just let me know when you have done it and I can cancel them.
Your mobile phone will be transferred to pay as you go and to your name as soon as I got time to do that. Will let you know when it's done.
On Thursday I will let you in the house alone while I'm with Nicholas in the caravan, so you can sort yourself out. If you want the old big tv you can have it, it is there all boxed up.

I'm a bit worried he will sweet talk me, or get me to do something I don't like.

Evil

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/11/2013 21:18

Jeez there were/are a lot of Nov 2012 threads. No wonder that bloody mumsnetter got bored of seeing us in active convos Grin

I'm going to kill off the 2013 threads so when I'm done the thread to take up from is aptly named:

November 2012 - all the babies have arrived

It's on page 5 of the post natal threads and last poster was GTbaby on 21/12/12.

Will catch up with thread once I'm done.

ChasingDaisy · 19/11/2013 21:23

Evil, make sure you have someone with you. When I reported XP to the police they said they were willing to be there when I collected my stuff from the flat if I felt unsafe.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/11/2013 21:30

I too would be proud to have a pidj hat! specially in this weather.

I have had a lovely day, lots of chores then a mooch round town for Christmas pressies. Most/all of the shops are independant, no high street chains at all so you really do have to mooch but you can find some lovely bits. I am doing lucky dip bags for the girls so have found things like bath bombs, hair things, funky tights, and books. Any cool thoughts for 7 and 9 year old girls to go in their lucky dips gratefully received. (I already have fart goo)

O had his MMR and other jabs Confused the routine here seems diff than in England and there was some discussion about whether to give him one of them. They did and they did it oin such a scary way. Two nurses. Threes jabs. One nurse either side and 1. 2. 3. JAB. two at once then one really quickly after. Poor old O. And DS1 stood there. Horrified. Holding his face looking like Shock

The nurses were lovely though and really chatty " oh are you related to the fairy family up x road" and " was that x fairy who died last week the great grandmother". Etc.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/11/2013 21:33

Wtf is a slanket . Not that thing that you wear that is a fleece blanket with a hood. Not sexy yw NOT SEXY.

DH call his home place the Baltic. Because it generally is freezio. His folks never put the heating on unless we are going to stay or over, but you can tell because the bones of the house are cold.

ValiumQueen · 19/11/2013 21:39

YW could carry off a slanket.
