I am having serious wobbles over my chosen nursery. Not for the level of care they provide, but the lack of availability. I currently have 3 afternoons but ideally need 4 whole days particularly when p and I inevitably split in feb. They have us on a waiting list but on chatting to lady next door, I have realised we could be on that 'list' for at least a year! I am now considering looking at childminders on a more full time basis.

Lily311 · 14/11/2013 12:51

Oh, keep them coming, I'm writing a list for my brother what to send me..l

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/11/2013 12:57

I LOVE IT ALLLLLL. Any Christmas movie is grreeaaaat.

can not wait to be paid by DH so I can start my Christmas shopping. Am budgeting this year, but then I have more time to browse so works ok.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/11/2013 12:58

Not strictly Christmas but love actually is a seasonal fave. As is the holiday - proper girlie wintery films. My fave is Santa Claus the movie - one from my childhood.

Can you tell am procrastinating today...?

Love Actually is great.

Not Christmassy films but some films remind me of Christmas, like Mary Poppins, Sound of Music etc.

FlouncingIsles · 14/11/2013 13:31

A Christmas film to avoid: Nativity 2. Haven't seen the first one. Went to see this one on my due date last year. Utterly dreadful!!

YellowWellies · 14/11/2013 14:15

Gremlins and the snowman. Grin

Isles my cousin's wee girl went to a nursery awarded best in the UK in Edinburgh but now they're in Dunfermline they rate the new one even better (and their DD is lovely, polite, a great eater, v sociable and generally well rounded so I would recommend it too - not just parental bias) if you want the details just shout. It might be that you can't get your first choice but find somewhere you love with better availability?

GTbaby · 14/11/2013 14:50

I love my kids. But fucking hell right now I want to get away from them.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/11/2013 16:46

Brew gt and a Biscuit

I loved The Holiday too.

Can't wait to get the Christmas Radio Times.

O is doing something naughty just out of vision Hmm

Just trawled round Tesco with both boys. Am knackered and managing to sneak in a sit down and a coffee before I do their tea.

Think I pulled a muscle in my boob and shoulder last night at keep fat, is really sore this afternoon. Do you have a muscle in your boob? Isn't it just blubber?

PurplePidjin · 14/11/2013 16:46

Same here GT

ChasingDaisy · 14/11/2013 17:06

I only buy the Radio Times once a year and that's the Christmas one. Me & my brother used to circle all the programmes we wanted to watch and I still do the same every year Smile

misslaughalot · 14/11/2013 17:14

Chasing that's exactly what I do too! I wonder how many others circle their Christmas viewing?!

Sophia I was about to google 'boob muscle' but just stopped myself???hate to think what that might bring up!

Leaving O at nursery tomorrow for tomorrow for the first time. She's just doing 2 hours as her second settle session. I'm currently making a list of things to do at home to keep me busy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/11/2013 17:18

I too circle! My nan used to do it!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2013 18:01

I used to do that! When is it out? I'll get my mum to post me a copy so I can join in the circling :))))

FlouncingIsles · 14/11/2013 18:24

I'm a circler Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/11/2013 18:41

I used to do that with the radio times at xmas too. My mil highlights what she wants to watch/record each week! Now that I could not be arsed with.

TheDetective · 14/11/2013 18:43

Also a circler! Only buy the RT once a year also!!!! Grin

Sadly, very fucking sadly, the first day we can celebrate Christmas is New Years Day!!!!!!

I am off Christmas Eve, however, DP will be in work 11-7 as its fallen on his work day.

I am a late Boxing Day also!!!

I am in from Christmas Day for 5 days straight. Then my next day off is NYE which DP will be in work for.

Gotta Grin or I'd cry!!

I am SO off next year. SOOOOOOO off.

FlouncingIsles · 14/11/2013 18:44

Currently watching M and A-dog cuddle up in front of the fire. She is lying on top of him with her arms sprawled around his neck; he is purring away, happily ignoring her tug at his ears. For all the times I/anyone questioned the madness of getting a dog, this proves I absolutely made the right decision: they really are the best of friends. Smile

GTbaby · 14/11/2013 19:15

Isle that's given me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

((Pp))

YellowWellies · 14/11/2013 19:15

Isles I agree totally - I love it when J and Betsy cuddle up together. Smile I've also realised the chat on that puppy thread on optimum nutrition is hilariously pointless in our house given the dog seems to be thriving on cheerios, EK 'crisps' and other baby favourites - glad we didn't go for stoopidly pricey dog food! Grin

Anyone remember when you had to buy the Radio Times (for BBC listings) and the TV times for the commercial channels so you needed both to circle Christmas listings as neither covered all channels?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/11/2013 19:19

Love it FI wish you had managed to get a photo would have been a good one.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/11/2013 19:23

yw I just never ever thought of that.

Also no one round here seems to feed their dogs and cats the relevant dog and cat food. Confused they just get leftovers. I had been musing upon the appropriateness of this coming from a suburb that supports IAMs all by itself obviously this is common practice.

Passmethecrisps · 14/11/2013 19:31

Radio times for bbc and tv times for commercial telly? I remember that. Lots of cross-referencing necessary.

P ate a massive dinner then sicked almost all of it back up. She was almost finished her bottle and almost asleep. Now she is awake and rolling around upstairs. Arse.

How are you feeling now gt?

Passmethecrisps · 14/11/2013 19:32

I had questions from yonks ago that I keep remembering occasionally and forget to ask. Two that come into my head now are:

isles did you ever get rid of your nutter chum from baby group? What happened with her?

det how is DS one getting on now? Did you contact the school about the texts?
