FH can take H for a nice ride in the buggy/car, surely? They can eat what they're bloody given imo, if mil ir bil want that much control they can provide the food in return for the free child care.

When are they returning the favour?

BigPigLittlePig · 13/11/2013 18:30

GT you have the patience of a saint xx

Sophia the windy walk sounds fab. When is dh back?

Hoping flouncys op went without a hitch and she's enjoying the legal post-op highs Wink

Chasing and pidj - lovely to hear of weight gains. No idea what F weighs currenly a lot but she was 5lb 3 when born, and dropped to 4lb 10, which was the bottom centile. At the last check she was closer to the 75th Blush - obviously not hindered by the lack of dairy lol.

Well, F managed 50 weeks and 4 days without antibiotics, but after our trip to the gp, she's landed up on amoxicillin Sad. I shall look forward to the amoxicillin sharts that I remember PR talking so fondly about Hmm.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2013 18:31

Argh LO has vomited three times this evening. Seems fine in herself.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/11/2013 18:39

DH just back, I a, so glad to see him and his porn mustache (Movember here )

Windy walk was excellent we walked up the hill to DHs uncles to drop a plate in, and he happened to be out doing farmer things in his enormous flashy tractor so he took DS1 up in it and out to help him do his jobs then he drove him home in it. DS1 loved it much to the uncles delight as he is separate for one of his great nephews to pick up farming.

I know what you mean pp the toast is fine IMO, but they could pop some cream cheese on and serve some fruit instead of accompaniment of cakes and scones, my only bother is they do the snack so close to lunchtime time and it wipes out lunch.

Life is very starch based out here, lots of bread and potato, I suppose though they grow potatoes so is natural they use what they grow.

Anyway, off to keep fat.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/11/2013 18:40

Desperate. Remember remember to check my posts.

Passmethecrisps · 13/11/2013 18:52

Evening ladies.

Love the double birthday rainbow vq!

gt I don't know how you remain so calm.

I was at the doc this afternoon for my routine pill check. My blood pressure was 177! Don't know what the bottom number was but the top was pretty high. He took it 4 times and the lowest it went was what he called "very high normal". Cripes!

YellowWellies · 13/11/2013 18:59

Sophia nooooooo to the cream cheese! I wish they'd serve allergy friendly stuff at baby groups - there's nothing worse than hunting your wee one down and keeping them off the food Sad

Zamboni · 13/11/2013 19:10

sophia love the 'keep fat' reference. I 'm off to keep fat too, sitting on my arse with cheese on toast for supper!

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2013 19:18

We are out of cheese! I've been running down the fridge and freezer to make space to stock up for winter and to avoid going to the shops and used up all the cheese in my mac 'n' cheese the other night. Hope to be able to buy some tomorrow if at least one of my kids can go to nursery.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/11/2013 19:34

Talking of fat days. I am currently eating Christmas pudding Grin. I made several last year, full of butter, so I had to abandon the last one when I went dairy free. Having had the first frost of the season this morning, it felt only right to dig this out of the freezer!

misslaughalot · 13/11/2013 19:48

Ooh Christmas pudding BP, that sounds amazing right now!

I think we're going for the luxury of a Dominos tonight. I need comfort food and can't be arsed to cook. Went into work today to get geared up ready for my first day back on the 25th and was hoping to leave by 2, yet because my laptop hasn't been switched on for 13 months there were 37 updates waiting for me, meaning I didn't get away until after 3 and couldn't get back to O until 4.15. I missed her so much, and she only slept for 30 mins at her Nan's so she's shattered. Thankfully asleep now though. Let's see if she'll stay in her cot tonight, as she ended up in with us last night because she wouldn't settle without being cuddled which I secretly loved

GTbaby · 13/11/2013 20:09

Pp their school is near his work and he didn't have time to come home and get H. He did try to leave work early but wasn't able to in the end.

Have told FH that nxt time he is to ask about pick up time, clubs and food before hand at the time of request and specify that plans are not to be changed on the day.

Normally FH is very laid back about these things. But even he was a bit annoyed

DoItTooJulia · 13/11/2013 20:10

Gosh, it still moves as fast as ever!

But thanks for having me back!

FlouncingIsles · 13/11/2013 20:14

Hi Julia Smile

Dinner was going to be "ready in 20 mins" - 2.5 fucking hours ago. I am perusing takeaway menus....

GTbaby · 13/11/2013 20:14

Julia, don't worry it does slow down sometimes!

Pikz · 13/11/2013 20:24

Sleep is according to L for the weak and the dead!

ChasingDaisy · 13/11/2013 20:34

I'm keeping fat by eating tubes of Smarties. How many is acceptable to eat in one sitting? I'm on number 2 and counting.

Dating update: I am in love with Just Friends Guy but he is frustratingly sticking to the just friends crap, so I am currently speaking to a lovely guy who I met on the dating site. He lives in London and seems great. He knows how much I love London Christmas lights so he took some pics of them for me today (He works in Central London and is a keen photographer)

YellowWellies · 13/11/2013 20:50

Hello all. Hope everyone is well! High fives to the birthday babies. Flounce hope you're recovering well. PR boo on the vom and home sickness. GT you're a better woman than me - I'd have been well ratty about that.

Jonas had another good day at nursery. Including drinking two full bottles of nutramigen Smile . When I went to collect him he was naturally intent on mischief / vandalism rather than you know - playing with an actual toy - I poke my head in his room and he's giggling trying to explore the nursery fridge but thwarted by the child lock and his key worker. Clearly he feels at home. He's been super jolly since we got home too but this may have just been a ruse to distract me as he's only gone and figured out how to open the back door Shock !

I feel amazingly human after two grown up days this week. Really like my old self. Jobs that have been on my to do list since we moved in - are being done (we still had boxes to unpack! Blush ) And it's wonderful to have the chance to miss him and be energised when I collect him so we can spend time playing not just me do jobs. And it's amazing to earn good money (almost my full time pre freelance wage) to put toward holidays and doing up the house and building up savings as we've virtually none left since buying the house. 2 days work, 3 days home a week seems the perfect balance for us. I'm feeling v v thankful today about how everything has fallen into place. Smile I hope it continues to work out.

ValiumQueen · 13/11/2013 21:08

You are indeed very lucky YW, but you are clearly a bright spark and have worked hard to get to where you are.

Well, I was a very bad mummy and took DD2 to nursery. She was fine this morning and has been fine all day so I am guessing it was just a cough rather than a bug.

J had a good day at nursery too. That is three in a row. Fantastic. Of course I am waiting for it to end now.

He is having 15mg omeprazole daily and seems better on it. So far anyway.

Pikz I am glad L is home, and hope he has a good night.

BP hope LO is soon well so you can enjoy your time off together.

Pass that cake looks lovely.

PR I sometimes think we are living in a parallel universe, except you are younger, thinner and blonde.

Erm.... Mind gone blank so love to all and sweet uninterrupted dreams x

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2013 21:21

That was a lovely post yw I love hearing about happiness in the quiche.

vq in a paralell unverse made up of snot phlegm and vom and where there is always someone in the house with something wrong or at least not quite right?

Well post voms both kids have eaten as usual. Simple stuff on demand. I reckon if it was a bug that they wouldn't be hungry right? They are both coughing and spluttering their way through the night. DD1 was at 38.6 degrees this evening but seemed a bit better on the whole. Let's see what surprises tomorrow is storing up. I hate phlegm. It makes for gooey poos and stringy vom. Ugh

Night quiche.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2013 21:24

I'm not naturally blonde btw. Darkish blondey browny mousey type stuff iirc. Haven't seen my natural colour in about 14 years. I know I've started to go grey though.

YellowWellies · 13/11/2013 22:02

Don't talk to me about greys.... I look like a badger! Blush

ChasingDaisy · 13/11/2013 22:17

I have horrendous grey hair. Have done since I was about 24 Sad

YellowWellies · 13/11/2013 22:34

VQ it's funny but I'd still be an employee if DH and I hadn't been brave and risked everything (good jobs, nice flat, comfy life) by moving to Orkney for a dream - that move boosted DH's salary to the point we could lose my income and allowed me to risk freelance - indeed freelance was the only option available to me. Without that I'd have been an employee returning to full time work after a shitty paid mat leave (after just six months) from my old employer, I'd not have got a generous MA and my wage would mostly have gone towards full time childcare. It's funny how things work out - island life was a great experience but not for us - yet without it we'd be much more time and money poor today. The moral of the story - if in doubt always say yes to adventure Smile .

TheDetective · 13/11/2013 23:08

BP O managed 50 weeks exactly before his first antibiotics! Amoxycillin also! Almost finished the course - and no minging poo yet! Fingers crossed Grin.

I got my christmas shifts tonight. Got the worst :( I'm on a late christmas day, so 2pm-9.30pm. I will at least have the morning with the boys and doing presents, then I will have to make christmas dinner, to be ready for 12.30, and leave at 1.30 for work. I did it the year before last and it was fucking shit then. Even shitter now O is here.

Of course, I requested to do the night shift, and was not given it. I am pissed off. I did the late 2 years ago, was on mat leave last year. Volunteered to do christmas/boxing day nights, plus late on new years. And got new year off, late christmas day. Fucking fabulous.

Sorry for the whinge. I had just hoped to get my request. For once.

Happy birthday to the birthday babies! There have been a lot since I last posted, and I have failed to keep up after a particularly horrendous shift in work yesterday, coupled with multiple night wakings from O - who is fine in the day, but ill at night? Hmm
