As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

Bargain. I'm getting some of those!

In our house it's usually me who does dim stuff like leaving the door open. I'm getting better though as ds1 is an escape artist so I lock us in now.

glorious hope everything with your DH turns out to be ok.

Just seen those linking things, I'm getting some! Debenhams have a 20% of toys sale at the mo and I think there's a code for a further 10%. I bought a few things for my girlies including a massive tractor for £10 (reduced from £20). Just don't know if I will be disciplined enough not to give it to DD1 early!

Creepy Nancy is a little superstar to be signing already!

cupcakes sorry about your shit night.

X has been poorly for over a week now - with a cold and now her cough sounds awful. She's only had one little cold before, I haven't seen one go on this long before. Do I need to do anything other than use calpol? It's just her cough sounds horrible but she's playing and eating still.

She is also now waking at 5-something and hungry at random times which is due to the stupid clock change and maybe her cold. I felt like stubbornly sticking to the old time forever but I think that might get a it complicated!

It's buy 3 get 20% off on those toys. What else shall we buy?! Grin

I like these as a stocking filler: www.mothercare.com/ELC-Jungle-Flutter-Ball/136009,default,pd.html

Might see if a couple of my friends want to split the pack with me.

DH just has pleurisy Smile Never thought that'd be good news! Should hear about DM next week.

If only there had only been three bad things angielka . My grandma was also diagnosed with dementia two weeks ago, we had a scary trip to out of hours with E, and the washing machine broke. That'd be 6 but then there was the tree so two more to go! Wink

impressed by your dog knowledge cupcakes . Probably between us we know everything!

glorious · 29/10/2013 18:26

Oh and do they really help with your washing cupcakes ? Such a funny picture Grin

glorious DDog 1 can unload the laundry from the machine and also gather up dirty laundry that's been strewn around the house. It depresses me that I have been able to train the dog to do this, but utterly failed to train my husband. He did not take kindly to my attempts at clicker training him.

Glad it was good news for your DH, too. Well, as good as pleurisy can ever be.

We are off to Mothercare tomorrow to buy toys.

cupcakes i want a dog anyone to help me too! Can't seem to train any of them to be helpful at all! Am off to mothercare as soon as half term is over too :)

glorious hope dh is better soon and dm is ok. Hope you are ok too thats a lot to deal with Flowers

Thankfully storm missed us so no more leaks.

Loving all the links. We still have happyland fire station and a fairyboot which the dc all still play with - well Ivy eats them but everyone else plays!

birdies Ivy is all out of sorts after clock change still plus also getting over.a.cold. I can't get het to sleep any later than 6! And she is still up at 2. I really woukd like to sleep all night just once every now and then :(

EnvyI have two cats. One of them is in the washing basket. Asleep. On top of the clean clothes Angry. Thats the extent to which my pets do housework.

DS1 has a streaming cold which has followed on from the croup on friday night. I can hear Dan coughing over the monitor. I have shares in Calpol. No problems with the clock change though.

We have the Happyland Garage and the Farm already in the loft. DS1 never really played with them much so hopefully they will have a new lease of life with Danny. I quite like the Toybox musical train I was playing with them the other day at mothercare. Not sure its worth £30 though.

Thanks, I'm ok, just getting on with things.

just realised I was a bit unclear when I said we must know everything between us. I know nothing about dogs, I meant we must have lots of experts on different things Smile

Brilliant stuff about collecting dirty washing. I'd carry on with clicker training DH though, if only because it might annoy him into action! Are these clickers easy to get hold of? Wink

Glad your DH has had good news Glorious, really hope things improve soon.

Cupcakes can you find me an Old English Sheepdog that does the housework and grooms and washes itself?? I really love the idea of a dog but after having a baby not sure I'll ever have the energy.

Exhausted as always after Pramercise on Tuesdays. It is just a bit too hard a workout for me :O

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/10/2013 06:23

Meringue dogs are a doddle compared to babies! Especially my foodie labs who will do anything for a treat. Not sure about self-grooming Old English Sheepdogs though. That might be a bit much.

We had a six hour stretch last night. SIX HOURS! He has never done that before. It's all very exciting.

Been up since 4-something :(. I've been trying to get her to sleep an hour later in the mornings, but she's decided to wake an hour earlier each morning. Plus she had her awful cough on and off all night. I feel sorry for her but I also feel very sorry for myself!

I forget how bad sleep deprivation is until I'm back in it. Anyone else feeling like a zombie this morning?

cupcakes 6 hours is good, I want that again!

glorious glad you got better news re DH.

lolli doesn't Vicks normally go on their chests?! I will try anything for her though as its just not getting any better.

apple and pascha how are the colds in your house? What exactly is croup as well?

Report
lollipoppi · 30/10/2013 08:29

Very jealous of the helpful dogs! Thankfully DP is well trained (slightly OCD) when it comes to housework so it's normally me getting in trouble Grin

Birdies, yes normally on the chest, but ds1 asthma nurse told me about putting it on the soles of feet, it's saved me countless sleepless nights with ds1 and his asthma and never ending coughs and colds!

Pascha · 30/10/2013 08:41

Croup Barking cough like a seal, inflamed windpipe and trouble getting their breath. Mild to moderate can be dealt with in a steamy room keeping them upright and calm and its not necessary to see a doctor. Severe causing difficulty breathing needs steroids and nebuliser. Not an experience I want to repeat. Very very frightening watching him struggle for air, those few minutes waiting for the ambulance were possibly the worst of my life. Certainly the worst of his.

And now we have streams of green snot everywhere Smile. Croup is really a collection of symptoms linked to several viruses, one of which is the common cold which is what we now have. Both boys coughing for England as well. Oh dear.

The most annoying part is I had earmarked this week (half-term) for toilet training and thats gone by the board so we shall have to wait til Christmas break now I think. I never envisaged a whole year of two in nappies Hmm.

Six hours Cupcakes? Brilliant! Gold star to minicupcakes Grin

Birdies Have tea and lots of cake and go online shopping. You know you want to.

Glorious glad there's better news about your DH. "just" Pleurisy is a whole lot better than PE to deal with. DH is already primed to make me tea and toast in bed in the morning and he's quite good at housework (luckily as I really am not). I need the clicker for my children instead.

Hi All

Glorious sorry to hear about your DH wish him well.

For all babies with coughs, asthma etc, my nephew suffers terribly and my SIL says the viks cool mist humidifier has been amazing for him.

Loving all the shopping links like I really need more help on shopping front!! I am struggling with DD1's Xmas ideas. I did buy DD2 the fisher price magic mirror and will get her the bruin animal piano as it's the toy she goes for everytime at play group. She also loves the pop up animal toys must get DH to fetch ours down from the loft

Been busy here with half term entertainment duty Confused

Popped down South at the weekend to visit family, stayed in hotel on sat night. DD2 was bit of a nightmare sleeping.

Last couple of nights have been good . Her sleeping through quota (7-5ish) is now up to 3.

Cupcakes - impressive dog training. I've given up on DH training quicker to do it myself......
