As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

Bunty sorry about your situ, My DD1 had silent reflux and it took us a while to get it diagnosed as HV dismissed because of weight etc...

Anyway DD1 was BF we used to mix the gaviscon with small amount of water or exp milk and feed through a teat of a bottle or can use a syringe.

For constipation I up fluids and give small amount of prune juice or orange juice. Brown sugar water I've heard works for some. Also apply a water based lubricant around her bottom.

Hope situ improves x

No steps here yet, just stands and slowly sits down.

Birdies and All others with poorly DC's get well soon.

bunty sorry you are having such a hard time, no advice but Flowers for you.

Dd still not crawling, she just wiggles her way around on her bum. She is pulling herself up on the furniture and takes steps while I hold her hand, do you think she's likely to skip crawling?

bunty sorry things are so hard. Hope things can get sorted soon. Have no experience so no advice :(

Ivy has been on her feet for a while. She is constantly pulling up on everything and will use anything as a walker. I have also taught her to hi five :) very cute
We have lots of babbling now, she never shuts up or stops moving..am shattered!

She is 10 months today, how mad is that?!

Ooh, I'm here! Sorry - we are staying at MIL's at the moment so off doing fun things like shopping and not been online.

Bunty yes silent reflux here - DS thriving, happy, gaining weight but screaming at bed time and for naps. We have the sachets of Gaviscon on prescription but think it's available over the counter. We have to give him half his feed (so one boob), then mix up the sachets as directed on the box (2 sachets mixed with 6 tsp water). DH has to spoon it in to him whilst I hold his hands out of the way as he doesn't like to be spoon fed. He doesn't seem to mind the taste of it though and takes it without a struggle. Then I swap him over to the other boob, he falls asleep and I transfer him to his cot. He's been on the Gaviscon for 10 days now and his sleep has gradually improved every night, we're now getting 6 hour stretches where before we were lucky to get 2. The main difference is that he doesn't scream. The first night I went to lie him down to rock him as he hadn't fallen asleep on the boob, he scrunched up his face and opened his mouth like he was about to scream, then he just stopped and looked really surprised. He then yawned and went to sleep.

My GP didn't believe me either but the HV did so he gave me the Gaviscon based on that. We now need to go back and discuss long term treatment, as the Gaviscon should be given with every feed (so we're sometimes faffing around with it at 3am), but there are some once-a-day treatments that they switch you to once they've established it's reflux. I think these are prescription only.

We have crawling with toys in mouth here, too. Also got dogs. Slightly worried that his first words will actually be barking.

Went into Mothercare today and the toy sale is still on in store for anybody who missed it. I might have gone slightly OTT. Christmas pretty much sorted though. Also got some baby friendly bits in Lush. I love Lush.

DS has learned to wave. He waves ALL THE TIME. Today he waved to the whole of subway as we left (and most of the people waved back! He was thrilled).

How was last night Bunty?

So not had my car for a week, got car out of the garage on Thursday after needing a new tyre and new battery, and somebody reversed right into the side of my car yesterday on the nursery run, cannot open either passenger side door and not safe to drive with children in car ConfusedConfusedConfused

So sorry you are going through this Bunty Thanks. Wish I lived nearby so I could offer some babysitting and sleep.

How annoying Lolli Angry.

LO still not well and up much of the night. DP taken the brunt of it this time and I had my first lie-in (to 8am!!) in ages!

Thanks for the sympathy and Thanks - some lovely words - you'll make me cry!

We had an excellent night Shock

Up once, quick feed, back down. God knows if it's a once off, but I am just glad of the sleep! She's napping at the moment, it's amazing how much better I feel. We even made it out for breakfast and a walk around the park. We've been playing with the kids. It's a happier household today.

mrsb sounds like she may skip crawling, or only crawl until she totally finds her feet. My ds did what your dd is doing, he then crawled for two weeks then took to his feet and never crawled again!

Thank you cupcakes - it's so hard to get listened to and not written off as a paranoid mother. I have also went ott for Christmas and birthday Blush I love the waving! We also have random clapping, which is also adorable.

Oh god lolli glad everyone is ok, what a bugger about the car! Angry I hope you caught them doing it?

meringue Thanks thanks, lovely, and have some Brew - I hope your teeny feels better soon

Thanks everyone, pleased to report X seems to be a bit better today. I couldn't find any Vicks but got Snufflebabe for the soles of her feet and a plug in calpol thingy. What would I do without all of you!

In very exciting news (for me anyway!) X pulled herself up to standing yesterday for the first time! Has now overtaken my little DD1 though, but hopefully she'll get there eventually.

bunty glad you got some sleep and are feeling better.

mrsb sounds like she may not crawl, which is great as it's not an actual milestone anyway.

meringue glad you got a lie-in!

X slept 7-6 last night (dreamfeed at 10pm). Must have been the Snufflebabe etc! I think I slept about 7 hours in a row but feel worse for it, I don't think my body us used to such deep sleep Confused

lolli that's a total pain re car, hope you get it fixed soon.

cupcakes thanks for the mothercare reminder. Think I'm going to get these:

www.mothercare.com/My-First-Gadget-Set/134518,default,pd.html#q=Elc%20phone

Plus the fisher price mirror, and those clicky things. And I may make a little trip over there this afternoon. And it's only bloomin November, this is way too organised for me!

Whoop whoop Bunty!! Hope last night was good too!!

Birdies glad X is doing much better too!

I have a nap refuser today Hmm

Re the car, I heard it happen but she did pull over too thank god!
Her husband called yesterday and has booked my car into a garage to be fixed and he has organised me a courtesy car for a week while it is fixed which I thought was nice as busses only run every 45 mins where I live!!

Hope everyone's having a good weekend and the fireworks aren't waking babies too much!!

Glad you got a good night for once Bunty, fingers crossed it continues.

MrsBug DS1 didn't really crawl very much - maybe for about 10 days then he was cruising from 10-11.5 months when he suddenly let go and ran across the room HmmShock. Daniel has just started moving along the sofa a few wobbly shuffly steps, also letting go with one hand. Other than that its scrambling all the way over everything - bags, toys, small pieces of furniture... Not shoes though. No. Shoes are edible apparently Hmm. He has a fetish for my slippers particularly and removes them from my feet to chew. If I take a shoe off him he bursts into great big histrionic blubbery tears Grin He's such a drama king!

Your poor car Lolli! Thats exactly the kind of thing my mother does. All her insurance claims are from her reversing into someone else. Its happened surprisingly frequently over the years.

CreepyCrawly · 03/11/2013 19:39

So pleased you had a good night bunty, long may it continue.

Shit news on the car lolli, but very decent of them to organise a courtesy car. Hope yours is fixed soon.

They can be so dramatic pascha can't they?! Such funny little things.

Nancy hasn't been herself the last couple of days and tonight in the bath she was covered in a horrible rash. Took her to hospital and they've said it's just a viral thing. Horrible seeing her so upset because she honestly never cries, and obviously when I saw the rash I immediately thought the worst. She's fast asleep now bless her.

Hope everyone's had a nice weekend

Good news on sleep Bunty
: Glad X is feeing better Birdies. Oh also IMO I wouldn't bother with gadget toys, I had similar for DD1 and she never really played with them, they know they are not the real deal.... I just bought new house phones and gave the old one's to DD2 to play with she was obsessed with them and she hasn't touched them but is constantly trying to get the new ones little bugger

Creepy sorry to hear Nancy not well, Lois is getting snotty again Grin She had a viral rash a while ago, looks horrible but cleared up quick. Wish her well it's so sad seeing them poorly.

Mother guilt alert! Lois is currently sporting a graze on her eye, I put her done yesterday went to get my bag to leave and she followed me so fast my shoe clipped her HmmHmm DH has loved informing everyone that I did it the swine

Aside from that we have had busy weekend, date night Friday, went to lovely restaurant and it was so great to have some us time. which we are not going to have for ages now as MIL is going away until Xmas Hmm Friends for dinner last night, lunch round in-laws house today, then popped out this arvo to buy new sofa cushions random but DH decided he hated the old ones

Anyway best get bed, back on the school run tomorrow. Hmm

lost that could backfire on your dh! Dp was in charge when ds2 fell off a roundabout and broke his wrist. Ds2 told everyone that his dad did it Shock fortunately he is well known for being clumsy. it was only a matter of time til something broke

creepy hope nancy ok. Its horrid to see them like that and hard not to panic.

bunty yay sleep! Hope this becomes a regular thing.

Ivy saw her first fireworks last night. She looked unimpressed better than dd1s whining though was a bit late for her though so we paid for it today with a cranky baby.

Lolli Glad you're not without a car. It's a nightmare with a LO, isn't it? DH and I are having to share at the moment - I get the car Thursday and Friday as DS has activities to go to, but it's all a bit of a pain. We are out of fresh fruit and I can't get any!

Bunty how is the sleep going? Hope it continues to be good.

We had 2 nights in a row where DS did 6 hour stretches but now all gone to pot as he has a cold. Have been co-sleeping the last 2 nights.

We have our nursery induction this morning

DM is fine! Thank goodness. Hoping this is the end of the bad run now.

Brilliant you've seen an improvement bunty . We had a couple of 5 hour stretches in the cot when I took the side off and put it by the bed, and she stayed in it until 4/5. Going backwards now though Hmm I think she's getting cold so going to try more layers.

How was nursery cupcakes?

Great news for you and DM glorious.

Nursery was fine this morning, though it was only an hour and I didn't leave. Not that he would have noticed if I had. He crawled off after a couple of girls. Shocking behaviour.

Two hours tomorrow and I have to leave him. I'm planning to make his Christmas stocking (or at least make a good start on it) to keep myself busy.

Thanks Bunty :) Glad you are getting some sleep. So sorry about your night Glorious, that sounds rotten Brew

This LO slept 8-6 last night, an all time personal best!! I heard him a few times, think he woke, played with his toys a bit then went back to sleep... Good boy!

So glad Nancy is ok, Creepy!

Struggling to keep up with the thread! We've gone class crazy here as I know my maternity days are numbered. Went to Mini Movers, a music and movement class on Saturday, it was the best yet. LO loved it, especially the bit where you had to crawl around purring like a cat... He does this all day anyway so was v good at it, the teacher was impressed!

Blatantly skiving Pramercise today though as its three degrees outside and pouring with rain.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 05/11/2013 09:49

glorious what is next door's toddler doing waking you up? Hmm

I have just dropped DS off at nursery and left him there. I have a whole two hours without him. .

Meringue love the purring! We have tongue clicking at car noises here, and yesterday lots of T-T-T-T sounds. I'm back to work next week but only Mon-Wed mornings so we've found classes that fit around that. Still don't want to go back though.

Classes? Shock I was thinking of swimming in January. Otherwise he gets carted round wherever DS1 is due to be Blush.

I'm on second breakfast here as have been awake since 4.10am. DS1 had a bad dream and ended up in our bed watching fireman sam on the ipod while I lay squished to one side pretending I was still asleep Hmm. Second breakfast consists of dark chocolate and some ginger tea so far.

pascha apart from rhyme time Ivy is mostly just taken along with us to beavers, cubs, school assemblies etc etc! I do keep meaning to take her to local swimming pools toddler sessions as my olde dc enjoyed those but its such an effort and i'm lazy

glorious how did next doors toddler get you up? Irs annoying enough when its your own!

cupcakes hope you are enjoying your free time. it will fly by.

meringue love the purring! Yay on the sleep :)

Am starting to try and work out how to get Ivy out of our room. She already uses travel.cot in dd1 room durinf the day but its the box room so there is very little space and she still wakes at least once a night. So am worried aout her disturbing dd1 but also dd1 still jealous and not sure abour lack of supervision in mornings?!

Any ideas?

Pascha I find chocolate cures all manner of ills. Mini Movers is a crawling to four years old class. I didn't think the age group would work but it does!

He said mama yesterday too for the first time. Not in context or anything but it beats dadadada!
