As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

happy birthdays and well done to the walkers. hope nancy is on the mend. no steps here but think floss is the youngest 4th feb so plenty of time to catch the others up. sorry about your job octane, sometimes i think employment law is a total joke x

CreepyCrawly · 12/01/2014 18:51

Happy birthday Charlie!

meringue, is the book 'What a busy baby?'

Well done on all the steps babies! angie, don't remind me how close it is!

We're all much better now, so back to normality. Way to go cupcakes! They're pathetic when they're 'ill' aren't they?! DH spent the day in bed yesterday, no D or V from him though Hmm

Got Nancy's birthday present today, a Little People Farm set. It looks fab!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 12/01/2014 19:28

No Creepy, though we have that too! I think it's from a previous year's Bookstart book, it's called This Little Baby...

Lovely to hear from you Cupcakes what a coup!

Well done to all the new walkers and birthday boy/girls!

AppleCrumples · 12/01/2014 20:06

creepy we got that farm for ds1 and it is still being used 10 years later. enjoy :)

Happy birthday to all the los with birtjdays (sorry on phpne and can't name check Blush )

o Who was looking for cross stitch? Have you tried sew &sew website? They have loads of kits..i get sadly excited on there!

Yay for the walkers. Ivy staggers about like a drunk brining me bits of washong she finds on the clothes horse. she gets cuter and suddenly seems to no longerbe a baby!

She has one long nap around midday.

Went to dp niece 18th last night. got to holdhis 4 week old great-niece,.so sweet. Kifs a nightmare today after such a late night tho!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 13/01/2014 07:14

Day 2 back at work

On the 7.15 to London

Baby up every 2 hours in the night

Closure of half the station car park

Ticket machine for pre paid tickets broken

Oh and I just started my period Grin

Lora1982 · 13/01/2014 07:43

Congratz to the walkers. I refuse to refer to him as a toddler yet like everyone seems to do he's still a baby in my eyes at least till he's walking. We just have the odd 'standies with no handies' at the min, last night he stood for ages in the bath and then cried cos he didnt want to do it :-D

Injectons tomorrow.

Meringue, strangely jealous of your period despite the coil and only dtd once im worrying about where its gone!

Birdies · 13/01/2014 07:58

Hope the rest of the day is better meringue!

To apple and anyone else whose baby is just having one lunchtime nap now - what time do they wake in the morning and what time do they go to bed? And how long do they nap for? I need to copy you as X now waking really early and sleeping too late in the aft.

lollipoppi · 13/01/2014 09:03

Happy birthday to all the babies, I'm also on my phone so can't check back Hmm

DD still has 2 short naps, I've tried her with just the 1 afternoon nap but she can't quite make it and gets very very grumpy!

Cupcakes well done on kicking your DH arse Wink I think babies cope will illness better than men sometimes!!

Tugstonia · 13/01/2014 10:49

Happy birthday to all the babies! :)

Meringue sounds like a top Monday morning so far! Hope the rest of your day improves. Brew and Cake for you.

DD's sleep seems to have regressed - waking every hour and screaming, ended up in our bed for the last few nights and even then v unsettled. Is this a growth spurt/wonder week perhaps? Or more teeth maybe. Trying to get her to have one long nap at lunchtime (which she has at childminder's) but with her sleep at night being all over the place she's still having 2 shorter naps most of the time.

Still no interest in standing up or walking, or even crawling! Although she can cover some distance on her bum. Oh well. She's very chatty though so guess all her energies are going into that.

Sorry to hear about your job fourlegs. HGV driving sounds fun though!

Glorious great about your job, when do you start? Hope your DH is ok too now and getting the treatment he needs.

Am working from home today. Struggling big time with motivation!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 13/01/2014 11:04

DS has been sent home from nursery with suspected conjunctivitis. Got a doctors appointment later so fingers crossed it's a false alarm.

On the up side a friend has asked me to help organise her house move this weekend and I'm stupidly excited!

glorious · 13/01/2014 12:31

Oh dear cupcakes , hope it's not too bad.

fourlegs I'm impressed that you can drive an HGV. I can barely drive a car!

tugs thanks. DH is very tired so I've had a few lonely evenings. It's early days yet and I think he really needs to sort out some talking therapy as well as the pills.

I go back on the 17th of February. Actually not feeling too bad about it Smile

AppleCrumples · 13/01/2014 12:50

birdies Ivy just seemee to stop needing to go for an earlier nap and if she does sleep earlier she only sleeps for an hour tgen needs another later which ruins bedtime!

Her routine:

wakes at 6 for bf

we get up 7.30 chaos reigns till we leave for school at 8.30

get back around 9 we have breakfast

thwn she plays, folliws me around or we go out

11.30 lunch then off to cot for nap usually around 1.5-2 hours

5 we have dinner

6.30 bf and bedfor Ivy

Hth

We have jabs tomorrow too boo.

hope your day gets better meringue.

Birdies · 13/01/2014 13:24

Thanks apples, will start working towards that I think. 6am wake up though, ouch!

glorious I missed the bit about your DH, I hope he starts to feel better soon.

cupcakes hope DS is ok - so you have to leave work then?

tugs I think X has been concentrating on the walking more than the talking so I think you're right that they just focus on one thing at a time.

Pascha · 13/01/2014 13:40

I'm very Envy of you driving and HGV Fourlegs. I can manage a van plus trailer with a racecar on it, also a minibus, but I'd love to try a truck.

We only have medium talking and not-quite walking here. Guess his forte lies in being a cheeky monkey instead.

I get woken at 6am. Not by Daniel but DS1 who runs in to the bedroom as soon as DH's alarm goes off. 7.30 is a lie-in and we're wondering whats happened on a weekend if neither boy gets us up before then.

My period started yesterday too. I have my new mooncup sterilising as we speak. I'm going to wait til after the heaviest days before I practice and trim it right to minimise any chance of a bloodbath.

AppleCrumples · 13/01/2014 14:57

Really i should get up after bf and definitely by 7 but frankly am lazy and try to stay in bed as long as possible Blush

Driving a hgv would terrify me! Would only ever drive my fiesta if i could but obviously still need something bigger!

Right well offto school again...

meringuesnowflakes33 · 13/01/2014 18:47

I am always crashing my car (minorly)!

The other day I was stressed about nursery and reversed into an estate agent shop window!! Luckily it didn't break. The manager came out and was horrid to me.

Day got better. Tho my debit card got declined buying an all day breakfast baguette on train. Which led to a nice chat with the waiter, who also had a non sleeping teething 13 mo at home.

mrsbug · 13/01/2014 20:21

Evening all. Today was my grans funeral. It was a nice service and well attended and in a strange way it was nice to catch up with my cousins and meet their newest babies.

dd missed her morning nap today because everyone was busy, then she fell asleep at lunchtime; she nearly faceplanted in her food. So she obviously still needs two naps a day.

fourlegs are you long distance Clara? (only those of you who are in your 30s will remember her)

Birdies · 13/01/2014 20:34

Hope you don't ever park next to me meringue haha!

mrsbug glad it went ok.

I think this may have been posted before but just in case you haven't seen it, it's great. Esp the bit at the end, "clean when baby cleans" hehe.

fourlegstwolegs · 13/01/2014 21:41

Pasha racecar....? I'm intrigued!
Yes they are fun to drive, especially big Artics. People's faces when I get out the cab at petrol stations are priceless :)

Pascha · 13/01/2014 22:03

I will put a pic on my profile, just for a day. Its DH's. He won the championship in 2012

(last season he only raced a couple of times due to family and other comittments)

fourlegstwolegs · 13/01/2014 22:21

Pasha that's so cool. I have my race licence but then got pregnant with DS two months later and that was that. My desire to go at breakneck speed has yet to return. Maybe it will when he gets bigger, or maybe I'll remain a chicken for ever now. I hope not!

Pascha · 14/01/2014 08:12

I have no desire whatsoever to throw myself round a track but DH loves it. He's just entering local stuff now but in another year I expect he will want a new racecar to play with and off we go again Grin

AppleCrumples · 14/01/2014 10:24

Jabs done yay! Never again. She is having extra bf to ger her over it!

Hope it went ok with you lora

Cejay8 · 14/01/2014 12:59

I do try to keep up with the thread but don't get round to posting very often I'm afraid. Dd was in hospital for 4 days but she's been home a week now and is very well Grin she's also got eczema so apparently this means she's more likely to suffer from asthma - I didn't realise the link. She was treated for pneumonia and it was all a bit scary but she's good now.

I'm returning to work next week, 3 days a week so dd had a settling in session this morning at the childminders. I'm a bit sad that it's an end of an era - where did the year go? Dd is 1 next Friday but we haven't planned anything, am thinking a trip to a farm so DS can burn it in the soft play barn. I have bought her an adorable first pram (I know, she can't even crawl let alone stand!)

We do have a few words though like bear, ta, there, boo - she's definitely concentrating on communication rather than movement Grin
