As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

I just saw it too glorious!!! I need to know what happened! Maybe they were Siamese twins!??

fourlegstwolegs · 10/01/2014 14:42

Glorious haha - I guess foxes shag like dogs, and get stuck together bum to bum. It looks really uncomfortable. I don't like foxes, one killed all my chickens, so I for one hope the shagging is really painful!

Re my job - no, the country they are based in is as corrupt as they come so no chance there. I have the rest of this month and then I'm out of cash. I am going to learn to code but that won't happen overnight. I will be ok, I can always go and drive big lorries if I have to (I have an HGV licence!). But not ideal....

I shall enjoy the rest of this month and worry about February on February 1st!

glorious · 10/01/2014 15:08

Oh man. That's why it's taken off again. Pondering name change Blush Wink

Fame! Grin

glorious · 10/01/2014 15:15

p.s. can anyone pm me the email? I don't get it and I'm sure MNHQ said something witty!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 11/01/2014 08:26

Thanks all for the thoughts & birthday wishes! We had a nice day tho it was just LO, DP & me. He went to nursery in the morning but enjoyed himself so that was good, then had present opening, jelly and custard.

We were supposed to be having a big party with all the NCT babies later but they have all changed their minds (Hmm) so that will be it... I'll have to throw him a big party next year.

Well first day back was good if exhausting - LO was up half the night before. And LO has still not managed a full day at nursery, DP had to leave work and get him at 2pm. This is after 7 settling in sessions, MrsBug. If I had to do it again I'd do it over three weeks...

Still bf here but suspect supply won't last long now I'm back at work, esp since LO has had bottles too since he was 9 weeks. I have two long days in London next week and will miss the breakfast bf. Shame :(

No idea how we'll wean him properly onto solids now. He only had an afternoon bottle at home but now he's having a morning one too as all the other babies in the baby room do.

Oh and the nursery claimed to be supportive of BLW but its now become apparent that he's the only one who is BLW and the staff are mystified by his messy antics. They are basically spoon feeding him now and apparently he is accepting it. He feeds himself tho if the spoon is pre loaded. He does like to then chuck the spoon on the floor though!

Creepy hope Nancy is a bit better now? LO has had three D&V bugs this year. At the first sign of vomit we now stop all solids and formula for at least 12 hrs, stick to bm and Dioralyte (with a little Ribena to hide the flavour). Then the day afterwards tummy friendly foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, toast (the BRAT diet). He sleeps like a champion afterwards so don't worry about that, it's just them recovering.

Octane sorry about your job that's rotten timing :(

Epic post!!!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 11/01/2014 08:28

Oh and Glorious I haven't read your other thread but I saw foxes shagging on a documentary years ago and they got stuck together afterwards and couldn't run away!!! It was very memorable I think I was about ten when I watched it!

Birdies · 11/01/2014 08:45

meringue just a quick post as read your NCT bit - my NCT lot were a bit unreliable, we started off all meeting up lots and then it tailed off and people would cancel at the last minute. It's a shame about his party but it's their loss! Sounds like he had a lovely birthday.

Pascha · 11/01/2014 09:50

Morning. So amongst others its Lost's DD and Newbie's DS's birthday today. Happy birthday both of you Cake. I wonder if anyone on that list is still reading here and there? It would be nice to hear from anyone with a quick update I think Smile

Glorious if you go up to My Mumsnet-My Account and select Newsletters from the blue line you can opt in to the talk round-up amongst other things.

Not doing too much today. DS and DH are off at rugby and they are going to get stuff to cook dinner later as well so I'm off the hook today. DH's freelander is misbehaving so I'm carless for now as they have my focus for now. Oh well, Dan's napping so perfect excuse to sit on my arse for half an hour and bugger about on here.

Got a text from a friend saying a kid at nursery on monday with both our children has come out with chicken pox. She's all worked up about it, I can't stress too much about it really. Nothing much I can do - either DS1 comes down with it or he doesn't. Its going to happen sooner or later isn't it?

Is anyone down to one long daytime nap yet? Dan sometimes stays awake most of the morning and has 3 hours or so midday/early afternoon but he's a swine at bedtime on those days. He's still better suited to a short morning nap and a longer one around 2pm but I would like to drop the morning nap soon as its getting in the way of life in general Hmm

CreepyCrawly · 11/01/2014 14:27

Happy birthday mini lost and mini newbie!

Nancy's seeming much better, thanks all. She was sick again this morning but has been fine since. Definitely a sickness bug though because she's kindly passed it on. I was up all night being sick. No chance of any relaxing today though because drama queen DH thinks he has it, although still no sick and has just eaten an egg sandwich.

pascha, Nancy usually has a nap after lunch and it's lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Occasionally she'll have a sleep mid morning but that's very rare

meringuesnowflakes33 · 11/01/2014 15:27

Birdies my lot are usually quite reliable but somehow I seemed to have the wrong end of the stick this time thought we were getting a church hall but everyone else just wanted a normal meetup with cake! Oh well. Would have been hard to organise anything what with going back to work anyway, and nursery, and time of year.

Pascha if LO sleeps til 8 he can last til a lunchtime nap... But he only sleeps til 8 if he's been up in the small hours...

Glad Nancy is better Creepy! Tell DH he should be looking after you or he'll be clearing up that egg sandwich himself when he sees it the next time Grin

Happy birthday mini Lost and mini Newbie!!!

Angielka · 11/01/2014 19:12

Pascha Molly only has one nap at nursery but if we're home she still tends to have two shorter ones.

Happy birthday to everyone celebrating - one more week for us creepy. Feel better soon Shock

Hello all!

Thanks for my LO's birthday wishes, he had a great day! We just had my side of the family in the morning and my DH's side in the afternoon. DS coped really well and was a wee star, just put him down and he was out like a light, bless him!

Happy birthday baby Lost!

X

Birdies · 11/01/2014 20:46

Happy birthday baby newbie and baby lost!

Ah good meringue that sounds ok then, I thought you'd organised a party just for him and everyone cancelled on the day, I was Angry for you!

I was wondering about naps too - X keeps changing hers and I'm wondering if she's working towards a long lunchtime nap. Currently sleeps about 10-11.30 and then around 3.30pm ish needs another nap, but then it interferes with bedtime.

Glad nancy is feeling a bit better creepy and hope you feel better soon.

pascha hope Dan avoids the pox. Has DS1 had it yet? Agree no point worrying though.

I'm going to stop bf very soon as hormones all over the place and I really want to lose some weight. I will be heartbroken when I stop I think as it's so final (sounds dramatic but even thinking about it makes me feel teary! That's the hormones prob!) but I think the time is about right.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Birdies · 11/01/2014 20:49

How could I forget - she took a first step today and has starting giving me kisses!

And anyone else find that they seem to get even cuter every day?!

Hormonalhell · 11/01/2014 22:46

Hi not posted for months but still read regularly to see how all the babies are doing. It's Charlie's birthday tomorrow n I remember Lost having Lois day before me so happy birthday Lois!!Smile

Charlie can walk about 6 steps unaided but still hasn't quite got the confidence yet. He proper has a little personality now and full of mischief Grin

He very clingy tho and doesn't sleep very well unless he's tugging my hair constantly!! Just won't settle in his cot at all n wakes every hour if I put him there Hmm

meringuesnowflakes33 · 12/01/2014 09:15

Aw thanks Birdies, no it wasn't as bad as that!

Well done Xanthe on her first steps! They are so cute at this age. LO has gotten really cuddly, he likes to give me a proper hug with our cheeks touching. He also cuddles his teddy, baby doll, other babies and my sheepskin slippers! And in one of his books there is a picture of a crying baby, he picks the book up and tries to cuddle it to make the baby feel better.

Happy birthday Charlie and lovely to hear from you Hormonal! Have you tried cutting off a lock of your hair to put in the cot Grin

glorious · 12/01/2014 09:27

Wow, go Xanthe and Charlie! Ellen would be delighted to join you but she can only stand unaided for about 3 seconds!

meringue cuddling the baby is so cute!

We've done a couple of settling in sessions with the childminder and they've been great. They did me a little handprint picture during the first which made me cry but in a good way! When we arrived for the second Ellen beamed and waved hello Smile Sure it'll change when she realises she'll need to have her lunchtime milk in a cup!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/01/2014 12:46

Hi everybody - not posted for a while but have been reading and keeping up with you all.

Pashca I think DS is trying to move to one long nap - he is gradually moving his morning nap later and later in the day. Not sure how it'll work if he starts having a long lunchtime nap as I pick him up from nursery at 12.30pm. He will still only nap on somebody's lap, too, so I can imagine the staff will be too pleased at having to sit and rock him for 3 hours!

DH has a cold and has taken to his sick bed - he worked all day yesterday too so I won't get a moment to myself this weekend! I wouldn't mind if he was properly sick but it really is just a cold - any excuse for him to lounge in bed and watch TV all day... Hmm.

Pascha · 12/01/2014 14:08

Hi Cupcakes, lovely to see you! Dan only likes to nap flat out on his tummy in his cot so no shoulders, knees, buggies, carseats here. I'd like to get him to sleep around 1-3pm really, but he just can't quite go so long in the morning yet.

Shame you can't do with your DP what we do for ill children - if they're ill enough to need bed, they're too ill for telly/xbox/computer/reading. They just get a darkened quiet bedroom. Soon sorts the ill from the whinging Wink

Well done Xanthe on first steps - exciting! Dan is just too fast crawling and hasn't felt the need yet to do more than stand still for ages in the middle of the room. He loves his walker but it moves too fast across the hard floor for him so he tends to push it into a corner and play with the front bit.

Happy birthday today to Charlie, Hormonal Cake 6 steps is very good, I am Envy. Daniel likes to cuddle iggle-piggle and the only time he sits still is when In The Night Garden is on. His little face lights up, so cute. His brother likes to cuddle him going down the slide Hmm They get to the bottom all legs and head upside down both giggling as hard as they can. I'm terrified something bad will happen but they are just so gung-ho together. They will give me a heart attack one day.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/01/2014 14:59

Haha! I have called DH's bluff and told him if he's too ill to move he might as well have DS napping on HIM instead. So he's currently stuck on the sofa with sleeping baby and I've hidden lost the TV remote, so peace finally reigns here!

Who was doing cross stitch? I'm desperately trying to finish a little Margaret Sherry picture for my friend. It was supposed to be her Christmas present. Oops.

Meant to say no steps here - we're still at the stage were he pulls himself up, lets go, stands for a few seconds, then panics and falls over. His current obsession is putting things IN things. Like my mobile phone in the washing machine, or crayons in DH's shoes.

Pascha · 12/01/2014 15:16

Dan empties boxes and fills them again, over and over. Does it to my clean folded washing too.

Lostbobbles · 12/01/2014 15:22
