As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lora1982 · 09/01/2014 10:31

has anyone done the 1yr jabs yet? im preparing for how to deal with it.

BuntyCollocks · 09/01/2014 11:57

salt get on those pelvic floor exercises :p

I am dreading being back in the office. I would quite like to stay at home with my babies, which I'm surprised about. But, ds is such a treasure, and dd is just so lovely ...

Not going to happen. Sigh.

lora was meant to have it on Monday, but dd full of cold. Awaiting letter with rearranged appt. nothing to them iirc. Ds breezed through it.

Pascha · 09/01/2014 13:53

A week monday, lora. DS1 didn't flinch. I'm fully expecting Daniel to have a full-on hissy fit. He's such a dramatist.

I got that feeling last time Bunty, so I gave up work completely. After 3.5 years at home though, I'm starting to feel ready for something else. We could certainly do with the extra income but the logistics of it all slightly bamboozles me.

Squeeze and release ... squeeze and release ... squeeze and hold-hold-hold and release ...

lollipoppi · 09/01/2014 14:42

Oops sorry salt Wink

Pascha that's how I feel now, I'm kind of ready to be back at work after being off really since ds1, I did go back part time for a short while but ds1 became really poorly and was in hospital a lot
I've just had an interview for an old company I work for to go back 30 hours a week.

We do own a business but we cannot afford for us both to be self employed Hmm

Just sat in my car waiting for dd to wake up so I can do a food shop!

Lora1982 · 09/01/2014 14:51

lolli on the up side least you'll have definate money coming in for bills. I do my own business when I can be arsed on the side so I have definate bill paying money from employed work.

so I shouldnt have anything to worry about with his jabs? he only had a temp after one lot... I was considering calpolling him up before hand and all sorts

mrsbug · 09/01/2014 16:03

Dd had her jabs yesterday. She cried a bit then went off to sleep. I seem to have been forgiven and she's had no reaction so far.

I'm going back to work a week on Tuesday; I've mixed feelings about it.

mrsbug · 09/01/2014 16:04

The nurse did say that sometimes they get a fever a week later with these one

CreepyCrawly · 09/01/2014 16:12

I'll be with you a week Tuesday mrsbug, that's my start date too.

Just catching up with you all, a thunder storm knocked the whole village's phones off on Monday. The road by the beach is still closed a week on because it's no longer a road.

Had a horrible night last night. Nancy woke up at 9 and had been sick all over herself and her bed. After spewing 7 or 8 more times she eventually fell asleep at 2. She seems much better today, no sick. But she slept this morning and this afternoon with no dummy!

Gonna have a read through now :)

Pascha · 09/01/2014 17:16

That sounds great lolli! I used to work for the NHS so not much chance of a job where I used to work - they froze all recruitment some time ago here.

I guess you're somewhere westish creepy? A bit colder and brighter here today. I felt the need for a proper winter coat for the first time this season so I've ordered a couple to see what they look like on me. Just booked a weekend away in Devon as well. Go me spending all the money!

Tugstonia · 09/01/2014 17:38

Poor Nancy creepy hope she's ok.

Happy birthday dexter for the other day. Who's next?

Back at work too here. It's ok, but I hate the commute (30 mile drive each way) and I'm doing early starts/early finish so it's a reaaaaaally long day especially when my little madam wakes up at 4am and miss my DD a lot. Not sure she misses me though! When I picked her up from the childminder on Monday she didn't want to leave! Made me feel a bit sad but am pleased she's enjoying being at the childminder's and she hasn't cried since she's been there at all Hmm. Like Lora i have my own business on the side and wish I earned enough from that to jack in the other job. One day...

Hope the interview went well lolli.

Cejay how's your DD now?

Pascha · 09/01/2014 17:52

Oh its meringue's ds's birthday today according to the list! Happy birthday Cake Hope you had a good day!

CreepyCrawly · 09/01/2014 17:58

Happy birthday mini meringue!

I'm about as west as you can get pascha, in sunny Pembrokeshire!

Would love to have my own business! I'm not creative enough though, and much too lazy.

Nancy's been ok this afternoon, but not eaten much dinner and not had much milk. She's fast asleep in bed already, but she was until 2 this morning so I'm hoping it's just tiredness.

Lora1982 · 09/01/2014 20:29

happy birthday baby meringue!!
back to tiny talk tomorrow finally get his certificate for being a clever soul I'll reward him with booking jabs

Birdies · 09/01/2014 21:06

Happy birthday little meringue!

salt your post made me laugh as well!

bunty I find bf more painful during period as well. In fact I think I can tell when it's nearly here now because of latching on bit being uncomfy and I seem to have less milk as well.

Anyone else not want to stop bf? The longer I do it, the less I want to give it up. Can see me being upset when I do.

How is everyone getting on with spoon feeding? X uses a spoon if I load it with food, but she always tips it upside down so I only let her try if it's sticky like weetabix. Anyone else do that? Not sure how she will learn to hold it so that food doesn't fall off?

Birdies · 09/01/2014 21:08

That's three 'as wells' in one post

fourlegstwolegs · 09/01/2014 21:16

Its me, Octane. My life doesn't fit that name any more so I changed it...
Happy belated birthday to Dexter Lora and hugs to those leaving babies at nurseries!
I got made redundant the day before NYE with no notice, The company is based abroad so they didn't legally need to give me any notice, but morally it would have been nice. So things are going to get a bit tricky. I need to learn a new skill pronto...
Its F's birthday on the 19th; I turned it into afternoon tea as I can't cope with cooking lunch for half DP's family. On the plus side he is taking me away on Sat night. On the downside my mother is looking after F but she's really dippy and I'm hugely stressing out about it!

glorious · 09/01/2014 21:23

birdies I've been giving E a loaded spoon for a few months and she still tips it over if she's not concentrating. Strangely she seems to manage better with things she really enjoys like rice pudding Hmm

I love Pembrokeshire creepy and I'm stuck in London Envy

It was E's first time at the childminder alone today. She was fine and made me a lovely canvas with her handprint and a soppy poem. I nearly cried when I left and when I got back. The second time was because of the canvas though!

I'm really pleased to have finally sorted out what job I'll be doing. I work for a large government Department and wanted a new role. I don't want to out myself to work people so I won't say exactly but I'm going to be working on a really interesting policy area which I care about. Hooray!

On the other hand E is sleeping no better after a week of gradual retreat and DH has just been diagnosed with depression

BuntyCollocks · 09/01/2014 23:19

Happy birthday, wee meringue!

birdies think you're 100% right and that could be my warning that period is imminent. I also seem to have a supply dip just before/at start of period.

Also don't want to give up and will be really upset when it does finish. No plans to stop ATM.

I give her a loaded spoon/fork and she will tip it unless it's something like yogurt. Why yogurt I don't know. I don't think ds really got cutlery until about 18 months, maybe younger or older. At some point, he stopped tipping it on himself - thank you, nursery :)

Pascha · 10/01/2014 08:25

Ooh Pembrokeshire Envy We holidayed around there as a child. I remember going to Cardigan Wildlife Park aged about 4 and the next day some wolves (or something) escaped. My brother said it was my fault Angry. Twat.

I live in Kent. Not such exciting weather here.

Hi fourlegs Thats crap about your job. Hope you sort something soon. We did afternoon tea as well for Dans birthday. Just antipasto, bread, olives, pate, cheese and pizza for the children and a big cake. It was great

Birdies Dan likes a spoon too but I only risk it with sticky food. He's starting to try digging in to the bowl (which I hold on to otherwise its on the floor). Porridge, mash, peas and gravy (squashed of course) etc... Tried it with sticky rice - carnage everywhere Grin

glorious · 10/01/2014 08:53

Cross post with fourlegs. Sorry about your job Sad You've probably been over this already but are you totally sure that UK employment law doesn't apply? I thought that your domicile was the key issue but I have no professional knowledge of that. If I were you I'd double check with ACAS.

Lora1982 · 10/01/2014 09:16

pascha I think you need one of the tommee tippie things I got it sticks any bowl to the table. god send.

thats shit news about your job fourlegs, are you going to manage ok for a while or do you need to look for something quiite quickly?

on the spoon front he seems to get it with yoghurt too but all other stuff he'll have a go then shuv his hand in and lick his fingers I taught him finger licking proud lazy mother

CreepyCrawly · 10/01/2014 10:14

Doctors for Nancy this morning - more sick, off her food, slept 14 hours and not many wet nappies.

How shit about your job fourlegs :(

I grew up in Cardigan pascha :), I'm further down the coast now.

lollipoppi · 10/01/2014 10:17

Fourlegs that's terrible, like you said it would have been nice to have a little notice so that you can plan ahead!

Glorious great news on your new job! Sorry about your DH, hopefully now he has been diagnosed things will improve?

Interview went well, the person interviewing me has my old job as she took over from me, she was lovely which is great as I seem to have lost all my confidence over the last few years Hmm

DD is the same with a spoon, some goes in, most goes on her, of flicked across the room!!

lollipoppi · 10/01/2014 10:18

Cross posts creepy, hope Nancy is ok

mrsbug · 10/01/2014 11:17

Sorry to hear about your job, four legs.

Meringue, was it your first day back at work today? I hope it went well and lo was OK at nursery.

Minibugs starts next week and only has one settling in day (should have been more but we're going up north for my gran's funeral for the first part of next week). I'm quite nervous about it.
