As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 16/12/2013 19:59

bugsy havr you checked her latch? I have this at the moment with Ivy, my poor nips are traumatised!

Sadly once bf is over my boobs have always reverted to tiny and saggy oh the glamour Plan to invest in some very supportive and nice bras after Ivy stops, not sure when that will be though!

Ivy finally moving out of our room on friday. Am nervous as dd1 is acting up again and i'm really not convinced that dd1 will just let Ivy sleep. Am trying to be positive but...

CreepyCrawly · 16/12/2013 20:02

I really didn't think they'd grown as much as they have. The things we do for these babies! Nancy is a bit lazy with her latch sometimes now which makes me sore, could it be that?

I saw something on Facebook the other day that said something like "I do more housework in the half hour before someone calls than I do all week" Grin

meringuesnowflakes33 · 16/12/2013 21:23

Pascha they are little monkeys at this age!

I was running the bath earlier and turned around and LO was nowhere to be seen... I panicked. He was hiding in the spare room in the dark among all the drying laundry... He'd snuck in through a crack. He seems completely fearless, which is a worry!

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryCoil · 17/12/2013 11:47

Bloody hell, pascha - fearless dan indeed!

Hope everyone is having a nice, restful week. We were in london at the weekend which was fab, and I'm thoroughly enjoying being off work now! Have soup made, cake made for our postie, lots of washing done, and plans to go to the supermarket when Cameron wakes up this afternoon. So, so exciting!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 17/12/2013 12:28

Yum, homemade soup!

Left LO for one hour at nursery this morning. When I came back he was hysterical :(

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryCoil · 17/12/2013 13:43

Don't say that, meringue! :( Cameron has an hour stay and play by herself tomorrow. Am dreading it.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 17/12/2013 18:35

It was awful. Apparently it was only the last ten minutes he was crying but I felt so guilty!! Especially as I could have been ten minutes earlier but tried to squeeze in going to the dry cleaners after my beauty treatment... Selfish

I really hope he starts to like it soon. I don't think I could bear it otherwise. Feeling v bad as we could technically afford for me to be a stay at home mum, but it's never what I planned to do :( Completely torn :(

AngelHairAngielka · 17/12/2013 19:13

meringue and bunty I am going back to work on 6th Jan and Molly has been getting used to nursery. To begin with she was also hysterical and I was also feeling shitty about it. Now, she smiles at the people who work there, is still a bit unhappy about me leaving but gives me such a grin when I pick her up and they say she's settled in fine. It's tough to begin with but all change is - personally I think I will be a better mum if I have work back in my life although we couldn't cover the mortgage with one income so I don't have a choice anyway good luck Xmas Confused

mrsbugsywugsy · 17/12/2013 20:06

Maybe it is her latch. It started after our flight home when she wanted to bf constantly but was inan an awkward position due to the seatbelt. I've had to break out the lansinoh Sad

Dd is starting nursery in January too. I'm dreading it. Can't afford not to though and I would go mad

octanegirl · 17/12/2013 20:07

Hello all - I'm in teething hell too, and for the record my boobs look like very sad versions of their former selves...
Poor Munchkin is not only teething but has a cold, and a bit of a temperature, so I am Calpol-ing him up.
My cold is better, and I can't quite believe Christmas is in a WEEK. I wanted to buy him a Reindeer outfit but cant find one on ebay that will a) fit or b) be here in time.

Lostbaubles · 17/12/2013 22:03

Hello All

Just been having catch up

Apples did you phone the pool to check bag wasn't handed in!! really who does that! tramps

Wish all poorly and teething babies well, oh and any mummies x

Meringue I'm sure nursery will be fine just needs time. I would love to work two / three days a week but a. I'm not really qualified to do anything worthwhile and b. I only really miss the office banter, lunch break and after work socialising Grin

DD2 has really come on this week with walking but has still not worked out how to stand without pulling up, so still crawls when she crashes.

Off to panto tomorrow with DD1, school finishes at 11.30 totally stupid so we have arranged a school outing. Mil is having DD2 for the day.

Finally started the wrapping yesterday but only managed about ten gifts before throwing in the towel in favour of vino.

Octane I'm sure I saw a reindeer onesie in the mothercare sale

newbie6 · 17/12/2013 22:54

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear all about the poorly babies, hope they get better soon. My LO has a cold too, v sniffly and a cough too, hoping it goes soon. I also decided to give controlled crying a go this week out of sheer desperation to get him to sleep through the night and we are on night 3 today, he has slep through since I tried it on night 1!!!!!!!! He cried for about 8 mins then silence! When he woke in the night, the longest he cried was for 15 mins and last night he turned a couple of times but settled himself. He slept 7pm till 7.30am this morning, I am so thankful that I tried it as we are all so much happier. Just praying it's not a fluke or that his cold will unsettle him but tonight he only cried for about 40 seconds before settling, hallelujah ....there is a god!

X

CreepyCrawly · 18/12/2013 08:25

A cold here now too. They're so rubbish aren't they? Hope everyone else gets better soon.

I'm sure nursery will get better meringue. Good luck for today with Cameron bunty.

Yay on the sleep newbie.

I'm getting a bit annoyed with MIL at the moment. She doesn't seem at all interested in Nancy, only when there are other people about. If I or anyone else says anything about her, she then talks about SIL's DD. There's 6 weeks between them (a day between due dates so really at the same stages) and she's always comparing them :(

lollipoppi · 18/12/2013 08:39

Off to the docs with DD today, her cold and cough are terrible and she is very very wheezy Hmm

Creepy you have just described my MIL! when DD was born she said "aw isn't it a shame it's not another boy" and from that moment has shown no interest, she won't even hold her Hmm
Don't ya just love them!

Meringue nursery will get better, it's just a big change but they soon settle in

CreepyCrawly · 18/12/2013 09:09

Poor DD lolli. I hope you're not waiting around too long.

It's odd isn't it? And what a thing to say about her not being another boy!

lollipoppi · 18/12/2013 14:28

Creepy I could write a book with all the mil comments Grin

Darcie has a chest infection Hmm

CreepyCrawly · 18/12/2013 16:46

Let me know if you do and I'll add some! I was a bit childish once, I must admit. It'd been about 20 minutes of me saying Nancy could do something, and then MIL saying that DN did it a few weeks ago and was now doing something else. So I said we had to start brushing Nancy's hair now because there was so much of it. DN was, and still is, bald Grin

Oh poor Darcie, hope she's on the mend soon. And before Christmas! We're drowning in a sea of snot today.

newbie6 · 18/12/2013 17:59

We have the snot monster too plus a horrible cough, seeing the doctor tomorrow so not sure if they will him anything to help? Would antibiotics help or is that only if it's gone into their chest?

Praying all our poorly babies are better soon!

X

lollipoppi · 18/12/2013 18:16

Ha ha, I'm always really crap at any kind of come-backs, until about 2 hours later I think of a really good one!

Newbie hope your LO is ok too, dd started on some antibiotics today.
Hopefully all the babies are just getting all the illness out of the way before Xmas!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 18/12/2013 19:06

I think I have man flu. How do you look after a 10 month old when you have man flu? Gah

DS also hated nursery at first but by week two couldn't wait to get in! When I arrive to collect him he usually smiles at me then carries on with whatever he's doing. He is so much more confident now. meringue if you're not happy could you delay going back? Presumably you could resign at a later date if she doesn't settle. I'm sure she will though, the staff are so experienced at settling in little ones.

I'm feeling very grateful that MIL and DM both dote on DS, despite him being MIL's 7th grandchild. My own grandmother despised me but adored my cousins so I really feel for you guys.

mrsbugsywugsy · 18/12/2013 19:33

Dd has been in a proper grump today, no idea why Xmas Sad

Last night she was sleep crawling. I had no idea babies did this. She was asleep in our bed and suddenly got up and started crawling up the bed till she bumped her head on the headboard. Then she put her head down and slept with her bum still up in the air. Very cute.

Lora1982 · 18/12/2013 20:07

Hello all :-D I hardly come on at the minute because when I do it takes about half an hr to type a message... something up with either my phone or mn I dont know but its painfully slow.

So im trying to find a new routine because he's back to a nightmare to get to sleep. Today went ok he only napped for an hr this morning and went sleep on dp at 7 without boob :O

Got a you tube vid of him here if the link
works: Watch "Dexter's tune" on YouTube -

lollipoppi · 18/12/2013 21:29

Bugsy that sounds very cute!

Cupcakes hope your feeling better soon, man flu is the worse Smile

Lora that is toooooo cute, does he get his moves from his mummy? Grin

Just has a terrifying experience, DD started coughing in her sleep and started making like a quacking noise, I ran in and she was being sick and choking ShockShock DP took full control and slapped her back a few times until she was sick and a piece of fruit came out from her tea.
I am sleeping in her room tonight as it has really shit me up!
Also I've realised that I need to get on a first aid training course ASAP!

Lora1982 · 18/12/2013 21:55

Lolli I went on a first aid course but still dont think I could handle whats just happened to you. That is the stuff of nightmares

newbie6 · 18/12/2013 23:01

Oh gosh, scary stuff Lolli, well done to your DP. I went on a baby first aid course and thought it was excellent but still stress that I will forget everything if god forbid something happens. Not sure if you have an I phone or I pad but the Red Cross has a brilliant app for first aid which tells you exactly what to do in all emergencies.
