As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

OP posts:

pascha I don't know that song but it sounds like I need to Grin You can send your DH over tomorrow, he can use our set square but some of the presents are wiggly.

cupcakes sounds like you've been busy! Glad that you're feeling more supported. How's DH?

Present wise we got a Lost my name book, hide and squeak eggs, some naice wooden instruments and will wrap up new clothes. Plus bits like socks and a flannel and pound shop bath toys for her stocking. We've asked for books and a coat from family.

We got back from Dorset today. People kept asking if E and my friend's baby were twins. Erm no that's why there are two mothers! E is very excited to be home which is so cute.

Pascha · 13/12/2013 20:09

Its a Julia Donaldson audio book. The song is a bonus.

octanegirl · 13/12/2013 21:14

Lost it's spot on, isn't it!

mrsbugsywugsy · 13/12/2013 22:12

creepy our aldi doesn't even have trolleys . I take dd in the sling.

Well we're back from hols, dd is disappointed that it's cold here and she doesn't get an all you can eat breakfast every day.

I nearly didn't get back in the country as dp had raced ahead through passport control and when I went through with dd they were Suspicious as she has a different surname to me. They had to run after dp and fetch him back before they would let us in.

Sad fact : today I realised that our condoms had gone past their expiry date Blush

TinselTugs · 14/12/2013 07:36

Morning all,

bugsy hope you had a lovely holiday, was it warm and sunny? Sad about the condoms! I must check the expiry date on ours not that there's any use for them at the moment. Hope all was ok with passport control, I tried to change dd's surname to double-barrell mine and dp's but you can't change it to the mother's surname or even double-barrell it (on the birth certificate at least) unless you can prove that father on the birth certificate isn't the biological father or father is 'unknown', or you get married. So bloody sexist! So need to decide whether to bother changing it by deed poll or not.

glorious hope you had fun in dorset. how thick of people to think the babies were twins!

lost that's funny! v true

pascha i need to check out that song, dd loves Julia Donaldson

cupcakes hope you're doing better, you sound a bit better from your post and v glad that you're being listened to now :)

bunty how's things with you? Hope C continuing to sleep better

DD has been in a funny mood the last couple of days, getting really annoyed like she's v frustrated that she can't talk and make us understand what she wants. Arching her back, crying at meal times, refusing to go to sleep... Any ideas? Could be teeth I suppose.

TinselTugs · 14/12/2013 07:36

Epic post there sorry!

AngelHairAngielka · 14/12/2013 09:20

Pascha we just have the what the ladybird heard book. Didn't realise we were being dprived of the SONG!!

lost the only thing they missed off that list is a pen without lid to suck on Xmas Grin

tugs I've noticed that M also gets more frustrated recently. She arches her back a lot and cries at mealtimes more mainly when we aren't giving her fistfuls of food to shove in her mouth fast enough I'm blaming teeth. There are drops here that are homeopathic and I was recommended by a couple of mums that I just got my hands on yesterday. It's less messy than the powder stuff I have from the UK and seems more efective than the gels. I dunno though, think we just have to stick it out and repeat this too shall pass a few more times.

DH and DD1 off to get the tree. Our plan is to stick it on a table by the window so Molly can't pull it over. Ha. We'll see...

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 14/12/2013 12:50

bugsy hope your holiday was good. Re the surname i changed mine by deed poll years ago as dp and i have never managed to ge married and i wanted us all to have the same name.

Just back from swimming where some arse has stolen ds2 bag..with his clothes in it!! I mean why? Why woukd you do that?! All they've ended up with is a batman bag with footie shorts and boxers in it!! Why?!! :( Angry

meringuesnowflakes33 · 14/12/2013 14:50

Oh fgs Apples that's really annoying Sad. I hope you managed to find him something warm to go home in.

Cupcakes great news on the HV, if she comes up with anything on sleep you must let us know! I am knackered, it's been a long year hasn't it! This cute LO has slept through exactly six times in his life.

Tugs this LO shouts a lot, each shout conveys a desire for something but because he can't talk yet we don't know what it is. Frustration on both sides! He shouts a lot from the high chair, I think we are failing to deliver his favourite foods, and also from the back of the car. Wish I'd persevered with Baby Sign now!

Bunty everyone said my periods would get better after childbirth but if anything they're worse. This month I've had a nasty IBS flare up in the run up to my period, then a massive anxiety attack, now rivers of blood. DP was at his Christmas party last night and got in at three am! He got woken up at six thirty so I could take a Feminax and go back to bed, LO had been in with me since 1am and I'd barely slept.

mrsbugsywugsy · 14/12/2013 19:39

apple how annoying. The thief is probably pretty disappointed with their haul.

I have Xmas name envy but can't think of anything

salt1 · 14/12/2013 22:40

i once had a bra stolen from a swimming bath locker spples .. some peple eh ....

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 14/12/2013 23:02

Crikey salt why on earth would someone nick a bra!!?

Poor ds2 had to wear lost property home and we have to walk too. Got him some sweets to help. Needs a new batman bag now though..annoying!

In other news have just eaten several posh chocs and feel a bit sick..

lollipoppi · 15/12/2013 07:33

Hi all just catching up on all the news I've been working lots lately, it's getting busy at our shop now with the run up to Christmas!

10 days til Xmas and I've still yet to buy a single present Hmm

Dd and ds1 are both full of a horrible cold, there's not been much sleep in the lollipoppi household!

The mind boggles why you would steal a child's swimming bag!? And a bra!!

Cupcakes glad things are looking up for you all that's great news!

PaschasDanglyReindeerBaubles · 15/12/2013 09:49

MrsBug Glad you had good hols. Shame about the condoms. At least you did realise and didn't use them. Now that would be an interesting christmas present.

No Aldi within 15 miles here so its Tesco delivery all the way for me. Actually, I took Dan into the store in the sling yesterday to get potatoes and pudding and it reminded me just how much I hate supermarket shopping. Never again. I have some friends living in Richmond Virginia, when they first moved there and found out America basically has no culture of supermarket delivery she nearly cried.

Apples how awful about the swimming bag Angry.

Feeling a little delicate here this morning, I had awful tummy cramps all yesterday afternoon and half the night. Today I'm aching and have little appetite. Just drinking coffee is quite hard. Oh well - we're off to soft play in a bit so DS1 can go mad and I can sit quietly rocking in the

salt1 · 15/12/2013 18:31

pascha i hope u feel better. i am getting over a bug with all those symptoms x

AngelHairAngielka · 15/12/2013 19:21

Oh no about the bag apple! what a bugger.

Pascha feel better soon Sad and hope you survived soft play Hmm

We have had quite a day. DD1 managed to cut a chunk out of her hair with her scissors, then when we were out for a walk she was having a sulk because she wanted to be carried and we told her to walk or go on the buggy board so she lay on the ground and managed to roll in dog shit.... theeeeeen she screamed about nothing so loud she woke Molly from her afternoon nap early and then we had a grumpy baby on our hands. Saw it's a full moon. Is that why my children turn into wild animals do you reckon? Xmas Hmm

lollipoppi · 15/12/2013 21:13

Angiel what a day Wine and bed for you!

Dd is beside herself she has been screaming crying for hours, no temp but defo teething and full of a cold, I gave paracetomol at 7, can I give her ibuprofen too?

PaschasDanglyReindeerBaubles · 15/12/2013 23:22

Yes you can Lolli I hope you did already. I always use ibuprofen for teething, he seems much more settled and sleeps longer.

lollipoppi · 16/12/2013 07:50

I did pascha, she got herself in such a state she was sick everywhere bless her Hmm

AngelHairAngielka · 16/12/2013 08:24

Oh no lolli hope she's better this morning. Teething is a big fat glittery arse Xmas Angry

PaschasDanglyReindeerBaubles · 16/12/2013 11:59

Hope she's ok this morning Lolli. I have to agree with Angie teething is crap. Glittery crap.

Had a moment just now - I ran upstairs quickly to change an overflowing tampon (TMI sorry) and I forgot to shut the stair gate. I emerged from the bathroom 2 minutes later to find Daniel in my bedroom laughing at himself in the mirror eating a discarded bit of toast from this morning Xmas Hmm. Told myself off, carried him back downstairs, plonked him on the floor with half a plum and put the kettle on, literally 30 seconds later he was to be found upstairs in his brother's bedroom wrecking the bookshelves! I hadn't clicked the gate in place properly had I? Silly moo!

lollipoppi · 16/12/2013 15:56

Grin Pascha, dan sounds like he was very pleased with himself!

Dd is still poorly she is just full of a cold and a horrible cough, there's been lots of sick today Hmm she has 3 teeth cutting through

CreepyCrawly · 16/12/2013 17:54

Oh dear, go Dan! Grin

I hope DD is better soon lolli. I agree that teething is the work of the devil.

Hope you had a restful evening angie!

I have 2 work christmas meals out this week, tomorrow and Thursday. Thought it'd be nice to wear a normal bra, have a bit more support. My god I hadn't realised how much bigger my boobs had gotten! I can barely see my old bras when they're on. Please say they shrink back when they're no longer in use!!

mrsbugsywugsy · 16/12/2013 19:31

creepy mine have definitely shrunk quite a bit already. Unfortunately this means I have no bras which fit me, as my pre pregnancy ones are too small. Hopefully I will fit in them when I stop nursing completely.

Today dd should have had her one year check but the HV called one hour beforehand while I was panic cleaning the house and cancelled.

Randomly after months of painless breastfeeding, my nipples have become really sore. Any ideas why this could be?
