As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

Lora1982 · 07/12/2013 23:29

Ooh hes also lifting his hands up high when we ask how big dexter is :-D

meringuesnowflakes33 · 07/12/2013 23:43

Wow Lora that's really impressive! Impressed with Cupcakes' drawer as well - maybe he'll be really creative! This LO won't even settle to watch telly never mind draw. He says "Mum" and "Dada" but that's about it. Oh and he "sits down" when told but then grins and stands up again :)

Cupcakes glad you are feeling a bit better and the doc is being sensible. Hope you have a lovely night out. We've been to the pub and didn't even talk about kids!

Bunty I misread your nickname as Bunty and her Massive Glittery Coil. I thought it was some sort of festive contraception Xmas Grin

glorious · 08/12/2013 08:42

cupcakes I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better, hopefully you will feel better still in a week or so. Very cute about the drawing! You must have an artist Smile

lora I love the bit about how big is Dexter! I think Ellen signs duck but she's got it a bit wrong so it looks like milk Hmm

Loving the festive contraception Grin Hmm, I'd have thought my festive name change should be easy but I'm struggling.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 08/12/2013 09:14

Glorious in excelsius deo?

TinselTugs · 08/12/2013 15:01

Hi all

Dropped off there for a bit, yet again! just catching up with all your news. Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend. I spent all day yesterday at a seminar so DP was in charge for the first time... seemed to go ok apart from DD only sleeping about 45 mins all day Xmas Hmm. She did seem quite pleased to see me when I got home as well Xmas Smile.

cupcakes so glad you're starting to feel better and DH is stepping up. Hope you had a lovely night out.

Bunty how's your DD been sleeping?

We're going to get a christmas tree this arvo. DD isn't moving much still so should be safe.

Happy birthday to Megan Tinyeyes! Can't believe how quickly this year has gone and our babes are turning 1, it's crazy. Anyone thinking about number 2 (or 3, or 4, or 5 applecrumples)?!

TinselTugs · 08/12/2013 15:02

It's Tugstonia by the way!

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 08/12/2013 16:08

Ha tugs absolutely no way! We have no more room plus my body is well and truly knackered :)

cupcakes so glad you sound so much better. Hopefully things will keep getting better.

salt1 · 08/12/2013 17:06

glad u r feeling better cupcakes. tugs no way on this earth!!!!

does anyone have a tree up and how are babies coping with it?? any climbers....

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 08/12/2013 17:14

Tree is not up, but have memories of the mess made by 1 year olds, put it like this we did not have a tree when dd1 was little...

CreepyCrawly · 08/12/2013 18:53

So pleased you're feeling better cupcakes and that your DH is too.

I'm definitely thinking about another one tugs. I'm beyond broody and trying to convince DH it'd be a nice gap if we start ttc now. He's having none of it though.

We don't put our tree up until after DH's birthday on the 12th. It'll go in the corner of our living room, where the two sofas meet so they'll hopefully provide a barrier from little hands.

CreepyCrawly · 08/12/2013 18:55

Trying to think of a Christmas name too. I was alright at halloween

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 08/12/2013 19:13

She took a step! Ivy let go of the table and a wobbly little step!!! Grin [very proud mummy smilie]

CreepyCrawly · 08/12/2013 19:32

Well done Ivy!!

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryColl · 08/12/2013 20:48

tugs welcome back! She is sleeping so much better! She had a nice feed at 8 there (was late up from nap, so later to bed), popped her in her cot and she rolled on to tummy and went to sleep. Alone. No comfort needed. She has a 3 hour nap in her pram during the day, and last night was typical in that she went to bed at 7:15, had one feed at 5:30am. Dummy replacement at 9:30. Amazing the difference. I hope we've cracked it.

Happy birthday, tinyeyes Megan!

Well done crumples Ivy!

They're all getting so grown up! C is now literally chasing her brother during the day whilst he goes "mummy GET HIM" (doesn't have the hang of him her he and she haha). She's got such a cracking wee personality.

I'd love another one. Have to convince dh, and c would have to be in school as I couldn't have another small age gap. So maybe when she's three or so I'll start buttering him up.

Apparently there's a male pill now. I've floated that as an idea for our contraception (as opposed to the withdrawal method/breastfeeding combo we are currently using Blush ), and he seems shocked I don't want to go back on the pill.

No thanks! Did it for 9 years, don't want to do it any more.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 08/12/2013 21:38

Well done Ivy!

Apples, your DD1 isn't called Holly is she? :)

We have no tree. Trying to stop him climbing into the washing machine tub is bad enough! I have just been wrapping gifts and putting them under a betinselled house plant.

We want a big gap here... Need time to get married and have honeymoon!

Bunty withdrawal worked for us for four years...!!

lollipoppi · 09/12/2013 09:01

Yay Ivy!!

I went shopping yday and there was a little girl walking round with her mum and dad, ds1 said hello and we got chatting, turns out the walking little girl was 10mths old!!!! I was ShockShock

Bunty I went back on the pill and totally regret it, I'm crap now at remembering to take it, need another method as there are defo no more babies in the lollipoppi household

Amazing news on the sleep Bunty, long may it continue!!

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 09/12/2013 10:39

Haha meringue i kind of wish it was shes actually a Grace

lolli ds1"walked at 10 months! Ivy landed on her bum after her step! But she seems to have started getting round corners etc with walker....soon be toddlers - eeek! Going to have to invest in shoes soon...

meringuesnowflakes33 · 09/12/2013 18:50

Aw that's a lovely name too Apples, one of our short list for a girl.

LO has just giggled and wee-ed all over his bedroom carpet. Silly me allowing some post bath no nappy time!

octanegirl · 09/12/2013 21:16

Ahh Ivy that's so sweet.
I'd LOVE another one. DP however needs convincing (in other words he said no). Time and biology are not on my side though :(
I have a tree! LO hasn't gone anywhere near it yet, it's only a matter of time till he starts pulling baubles off. I got a pot grown one, on the basis that he and it can grow together and will both be bigger each year.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 10/12/2013 06:58

Aw what a lovely idea Octane

Going to work today! Ironically that means I'm having a lie in while DP gives LO breakfast downstairs.

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryColl · 10/12/2013 07:44

Grumble grumble.

Period back with a vengeance. Thought I'd get to a year, as ds fed less and I had to stop to get it back.

Ibuprofen, mooncup, telly, tea. That's my plans after work thankfully at home in pjs

Pascha · 10/12/2013 09:21

I got to 14 months first time, Bunty, only managed 9 months before periods came back this time though. I have a coil for now (not a massive glittery one though Xmas Wink) so they are a bit longer but not really any heavier.

Got most of my family coming up for lunch today. No idea what to do them though. Mr Tesco Man (as DS1 calls him) is due within the next 40 minutes so I will see what I ordered and hash something together I suppose.

No decs down yet, ran out of time at the weekend so it will have to wait til saturday now.

Dan's letting go for a few seconds regularly now. Tooth number 7 appeared this week. Err, thats it for news I think Xmas Confused?...

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryColl · 10/12/2013 09:43

Oh, that's good to know, pascha - rubbish that they came back early for you, too, though!

I've been having a little stress it's because she's not having a lot, and could wean, but since I know Dan likes a boob, I'll calm down!

She's down to a morning and evening feed, and I'd be pretty gutted if she self weaned. I don't weave lentils or anything, but I would quite like her to keep feeding for a while.

We still only have two teeth, but maybe another two on the way. Also pretty quiet here, too. Definitely on the wind down for Christmas.

Dd is currently watching the lingo show whilst I work and chewing her slippers. Genius in the making, clearly ;)

Pascha · 10/12/2013 10:07

Clearly! Daniel is in bed. Hooray.

We are feeding 4 times a day, first thing, late morning, mid/late afternoon and bedtime. None at night which is probably what prompted the periods to come back earlier. I'm considering combining the afternoon and bedtime feeds together into one at around 6pm but I need to get him to have a snack mid afternoon first I think.

She is very unlikely to self-wean this early, its not a natural stopping time for babies. I can see you continuing the two feeds for some time yet if you want to. They get very easily distracted though which is probably why early morning/bedtime are the last to go generally - bit quieter and babies are hungry first thing.

Do you find the mooncup good? I keep thinking about getting one but had a load of tampons to get through from prepregnancy first.

Pascha · 10/12/2013 10:09

Oh yes! Don't forget supply can dip just before your period so you should find Cameron starts feeding much better in a few days when it picks up again. Happens for me every month.
