As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AppleCrumples · 06/12/2013 10:36

Ivy practised her noisy toddler skills in ds2 assembly, had to take her out in the end as she kept flinginf herself off my lap and yelling Blush Honestly their merit assembly reallt needs to be shorter!

Wow tinyeyes 1"already?! This last year has flown by!

There are a few december birthdays IIRC.

Ivy seems to be on the mend finally. She startef to eat properly again yesterday but then a coughing fit made her puke so trying to keep her calm as she is still cougjing a bit weezily.

Pascha · 06/12/2013 10:42

Its DS1's nursery nativity tomorrow morning (he's a sheep Smile). What's the likelyhood of Daniel sitting still on a lap and watching nicely?

AppleCrumples · 06/12/2013 11:07

Pascha i would say you have no chance! Just hope that someone has a noisier wrigglier baby so no one notices yours playing up!

Bet ds1 will be a bril sheep :)

No nativity for mine this year just carol concerts inthe evening. Ds2 annoyed he doesn't have any role this year, pointed out he was joseph last year and sometmes others get a turn!

Pascha · 06/12/2013 11:31

He wil be a brill sheep (along with the other 23 sheep), might not look like a sheep though, at the moment he's refusing to wear his costume (sheepy jacket thing with a hood) so I'm tempted to put him in a white top and write 'SHEEP' is black sharpie across it...

I imagine it will be chaos. 66 nursery children all with some form of part, 130+ parents and probably another 50 screaming babies and toddlers. I'm really looking forward to it.

namechangenumerouno · 06/12/2013 15:03

Omg that sounds insane, Pascha!

Does anyone know when they can start having food off the Kids Menu in cafes, rather than having to pack special baby food for them. 1? Would Kids Menu food have salt in it?

Also how much milk do they have after they turn 1?

Am a bit confused at the moment. Since about 8 mo LO has had: morning bf, breakfast, lunch, afternoon bottle, dinner, bedtime bottle (each bottle about 7-8 oz). Plus occasional bf in night or before naps.

Now suddenly he is waking in the night and having another 1-2 bottles overnight (plus boob on alternate wakings). Not quite sure what to make of it all.

meringue33 · 06/12/2013 15:03

Flipping stupid name change!!!!

Birdies · 06/12/2013 15:11

meringue I don't get name changes though because aren't you anonymous anyway?!!

Waves to tinyeyes. X is 1 two days after Christmas (should prob have been Boxing Day but I couldn't get her out!). Can't wait to make a fuss of her!

bunty great news on sleep and glad ivy is a bit better apple.

pascha the play sounds great, how cute that he's a sheep.

Can anyone advise me on how to drop the dream feed? I almost daren't say it in case it now changes, but at the mo X sleeps 730-630 but I stay up to do a dreamfeed at about 1030pm. I tried dropping it and I was up at midnight.

Hang on, where are our Christmas names though?! pascha where's yours?.....

meringue33 · 06/12/2013 16:43

Yes but Birdies you might not want your new virtual friends to know everything about you.

Or, there might be stuff that is so top secret you want to keep it separate from other everyday stuff that could identify you. My LO is on my profile pics for example!

Anyway just wanted to post a naughty confession on the true confessions thread but its clearly beyond my techical ability Grin

meringue33 · 06/12/2013 16:44

Technical, even!

Pascha · 06/12/2013 17:52

Perseverance, Birdies. I just stopped offering a dreamfeed with Daniel and accepted there would be a night feed later, then after a few days of this I waited longer and longer after he woke in the night til he gave up asking. He was easy to stop though. DS1 was at least 18 months old before I stopped dreamfeeding him (in the end it was me doing it rather than him asking so no real need for it).

Will have to have a think about a christmas name. Off to peruse my namechange back catalogue now...

Birdies · 06/12/2013 19:03

Hmm I see what you mean meringue. Very curious about your confession now though!

Thanks pascha, I might wait til DH is off work then in case I need help settling her without milk!

Has everyone got their tree up? I haven't and I don't feel very Christmassy yet. But X will attempt to eat everything on the tree so I'm not sure I should put it up this year. That's a bit Scrooge like though.

Pascha · 06/12/2013 19:46

I want to know too now Meringue!

No tree yet, might do this weekend though as DS1 is talking lots about it. DH asked if we ought to consider a real tree this year. Not sure how safe Daniel will be with any tree at all though - he's guaranteed to pull it over.

mrsbugsywugsy · 06/12/2013 20:21

meringue i give dd normal restaurant food already, i figure it's ok as long as it's not a regular thing.

dds birthday is 23 dec, she wasn't due till the end of January but she had other ideas. Anyone else with a birthday near Xmas what Are you doing to keep birthday and Xmas separate? I think we won't put decorations up till after her birthday, on the 24th.

we're on holiday! It's warm and sunny and dd has been in the pool, has stuffed herself at the buffet, and has been chasing the local cats. She's loving it!

meringuesnowflakes33 · 06/12/2013 20:34

Oh I couldn't possibly share in polite company Blush

Holiday sounds fab, Bugsy! What a good time to have picked to be somewhere nice.

No idea what to do about tree here either. Such a shame not to have one, but will be nightmare. LO loves chewing electrical wires etc

Thinking of giving him most of his presents early so we don't have to transport them all the way to my parents and back...

AppleCrumples · 06/12/2013 21:09

mrsbugsy ds2 is xmas eve. We put decs up etc until 23rd then i take all xmas cards down and move tree out of living room and put a happy birthday banner up. Xmas eve is his day.

We are making papercahins etc at weekend (keeps dc out of trouble) and will put decs up next week. Not sure about tree as Ivy won't be able to leave it alone.

Enjoy your hols mrsbugsy.

Meringue last time we ate out Ivy demolished potato wedges and meat feast pizza.

I have night weaned Ivy twice by simply refusing to feed her if she wakes. But then she gets sick and i feel i can't refuse a sick baby... Will try again when her cough has cleared more. Shes definitely on.the mend.

Am also curious to know meringue :)

newbie6 · 06/12/2013 22:49

Hi all,

Can't believe some of our babies are 1 already! Where has the time gone? My LO is still not sleeping great, am now watering down his milk to see if that helps. He has been a little better but seems to go down from 7 pm to 2am ish most nights, although can wake at 11pm! Give him a watered down feed at 2 and he either goes till 8 or sometimes wakes again at 4am.....grrrr!

Is it important to wake your baby at the same time each morning? Not sure if that might help the night routine?.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

X

lollipoppi · 07/12/2013 09:16

Hi all, dropped of the thread there for a little while! Hope everyone is ok and babies are feeling better

Cupcakes how you doing now?

We dropped DDs night feed a while ago, she just didn't seem to want it anymore so I stopped and she didn't even notice

Our decorations are up, we decided this year that we would let ds1 choose ALL the decorations, it looks like Christmas has vommed on our house, it's colourful to say the least, but DS1 is very pleased with it Grin Xmas tree isn't up yet, maybe next weekend

I'm going to a fancy dress tonight, it is H themed, I'm going as a horse, will look like a knob !

BuntyCollocks · 07/12/2013 12:18

Cameron is 1 three weeks tomorrow - where has this year went?

TheHollyandtheIvyCrumples · 07/12/2013 12:35

No idea bunty only seems like 5 mins ago we were all waiting to pop :)

Ivy will be 1 in just over 3 weeks as well!

lolli enjoy your party

Pascha · 07/12/2013 13:57

Well, nativity went fine. Dan fell asleep just before it started on DH's lap so he curled up snoring for the whole 20 minutes. DS1 wandered happily round the stage with all the other sheep and cows and sang all the songs so it was a nice morning altogether.

DH has just realised the car needs MOTing before christmas so he's gone to get the car cleaned because it can't possibly be seen by the mechanics in the disgusting state its in Xmas Hmm. All is quiet for now at home.

Decorations may come out later this afternoon or tomorrow some time. Still undecided about the tree.

Will you be back end or front Lolli?

BuntyCollocks · 07/12/2013 17:37

Well done, pascha's ds1!

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryColl · 07/12/2013 17:47

Ah. Oh. Name change was too big I see. Bugger it.

I have been a pig today. Pain au chocolate, hot dog toasties and crisps, fresh donuts, and pizza and garlic bread to come when kids are in bed, followed by friends home made sticky toffee pudding.

Must be good tomorrow or I will balloon. Confused

Little tree going up tomorrow. Cameron is far too much of a climber/destruction orientated child to risk her/our full size tree.

London next weekend - can't wait!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 07/12/2013 19:19

Hi everyone. I'm doing better now, meds have kicked in and DH is making a bit more of an effort. Have to see the doctor every 2 weeks - she has agreed to hold off on social services for now thank god. Health visitor coming on Monday so need to clean the house a bit tomorrow!

Off out for dinner tonight and typically DS is ill! Left him fast asleep so hopefully he won't give my dad any trouble.

We have waving and clapping now, and every time I try to write Christmas cards DS takes the pen and tries to draw. So cute. I've bought him some crayons for Christmas. No decorations up yet, will do it next weekend.

BuntyandherMassiveGlitteryColl · 07/12/2013 19:43

cupcakes you are sounding so much better, love, and I'm glad that silly doctor isn't being heavy handed, and dh is stepping up a bit more. Ds sounds like a delight, clever boy. He's a lucky one to have you as a mummy. Hope you have a wonderful night tonight, and Monday goes well Thanks

Lora1982 · 07/12/2013 23:27

Nearly a year?!?! Well the big maternity 'holiday' has certainly gone fast. We've I say we... me and dexter d fukin p doesn't come into difficult baby ishoos have had some crap nights sleep again because of his refusing to have his daytime sleeps. When he refuses them he sleeps till later in the morning and the whole nasty cycle starts again so yes newbie im thinking its helpful to get them up the same time in the morning... not that I have IIstay in bed given the chance!

I hope your son had sheep on his back pacsha id of loved to see that :-D

We have a proper grown up baby here now he's doing signs for food and duck and also does the hand graspy ungrasp thing I do to the dog when I want him to fetch. He's also started copying my words like gone although its more 'goh' I did the duck sound the other day and he went to find his book that does duck sounds.

Well done girls we've nearly made a year! !!
