As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

Check up went fine, she is on the 50th percentile for weight and the 98th percentile for height!

My DS loved trains at 2yrs and still does! You can't go wrong with trains or cars for boys Smile

Meringue what a lovely chat thread, nice to know there are lots of lovely people out there

Pascha · 14/11/2013 21:10

Aww Dexter is gorgeous Lora what lovely pictures.

glorious · 15/11/2013 18:47

Can't see the picture on my phone, will try later on the computer.

We've had a really lovely day. E was in a lovely mood and was beguiling strangers all day. We had lunch with a friend who told me she's expecting her first in May, so exciting! E was a good advert for babies (I didn't break it to my friend that she's not always like that!).

Anyone got exciting weekend plans?

mrsbugsywugsy · 15/11/2013 22:17

AppleCrumples · 15/11/2013 22:34

Lora1982 · 15/11/2013 22:56

Shall have to amazon that book, sounds extremely useful :-D

So its friday I had one can of cider (black fruit no less) and attached the bookcase and toy shelf thing to the wall so he cant pull them over. This is what lifes come down to!

Hes being a nightmare recently too, waking a lot at night. Its possibly teeth cos his cheeks are bright red and constantly has a finger in his gums. Nurofen best work tonight!

Theres an indoor play place opening up near me and its free to go today and tomorrow so im looking forward to that secretly hoping I see some bad behaviour from parents so I have something to start a thread about

Oh glorious im in lleicester for your little location collection... cant inbox on my phone for some reason

Lora1982 · 15/11/2013 23:03

Bought it :-D there was two, one with flaps and one with a boy jumping on a bed, I got the flaps (interesting sentence there)

AppleCrumples · 15/11/2013 23:25

Heeheee! Hope you both enjoy it Grin

Meringue33 · 16/11/2013 08:41

It's really cheering isn't it Lolli :)

Thanks Bugsy. It's horrid this virus. LO is over the sickness but still has D so lots of washing. This morning his sleep suit, sleeping bag etc all had to be peeled off and washed at six thirty am. Toxic stuff.

We are quarantined at home and are missing his first swimming lesson today :(

mrsbugsywugsy · 16/11/2013 10:10

Urgh been sick all night, at least dp is home today so is looking after dd while I lie down

mrsbugsywugsy · 16/11/2013 10:11

I have got a killer headache now too, I think bfing and being sick have made me dehydrated

Meringue33 · 16/11/2013 11:01

Get some Dioralyte in you Bugsy. Black currant cordial helps with the taste. Alternatively I favour Lucozade Sport.

Lora1982 · 16/11/2013 11:05

Oh no, your all ill? Bless you. Hopefully it'll be over soon

Lostbobbles · 16/11/2013 19:37

Not sure who was looking at getting a personalised Xmas decoration but not on the high street have a few options

Pascha · 16/11/2013 20:08

Danny climbed the stairs all by himself tonight! Grin He's starting to let go of things and stand by himself for a second or two as well.

Sitting here in front of the log burner watching crap on telly waiting for DH to get back with the curry and beer. Get well soon everybody.

Lora1982 · 16/11/2013 23:47

Twas me, I'll take a look and do more shoppin I know im being silly about what he can n cant do yet but I see other babies much more social and able etc. Hes fine and chatty with us and family but hes totally against interacting with other kids I know I shk just wait. ..

glorious · 17/11/2013 08:17

Go Danny (but only while pascha is there to catch you!)

bugs how are you? Sickness while bf is awful Thanks

I've just given E a homemade egg free muffin for breakfast. I It's nice, hooray!

Birdies · 17/11/2013 09:44

bugs hope you feel better today. And hope the poorly babies are better too, apple how is ivy?

Thanks for reassurance over wobbling and sticking tongue out, has stopped the tongue now and seems to just be trying different movements! She's now got lots of babbles and new noises so I'm now just enjoying watching her try things and learn, it's very sweet.

dexter is very cute lora! And I would say don't compare to other babies....but I can't talk as I'm always worrying about one thing or another!

pascha wow he'll be off soon! Right I need advice on baby walker - as what point do you know they're ready for it? I've got the vtech one but I think she would just push and fall flat on her face, how can any babies use them?!

Pascha · 17/11/2013 09:50

I have the vtech one too Birdies. I haven't yet got it out though, he would definitely fall flat on his face. I put batteries in the front bit that comes off though and he plays with that on the floor or (more likely) standing at the little table. I'm aiming for christmas for the walker bit.

Lora I agree with Birdies. This is exactly the right age to start being more wary of other people. Dan even gets a bit shy at first with his nan and he sees her every week. Babies don't really do any more than pull faces at each other til quite a bit older than this I think.

Birdies · 17/11/2013 09:57

Thanks pascha, I have the electronic bit off too but the walker bit just sits in the corner of the lounge. Maybe it's for when they've taken their first steps then. It would be quite good if there were little stoppers or something at the front wheels so they could push it a tiny bit without falling over. Hmm maybe we should invent something!

AppleCrumples · 17/11/2013 11:43

Hi all hope everyone is feeling better.

birdies Ivy is snotty and sounds like darth vador but otherwise quite happy unless i try to wipe her nose

We have an old chicco walker, the one with shapes to post, Ivy has been using it for a while. It has brakes though so she just gradually got used to pullinh herself up with it, now shes off everywhere and so pleased with herself! I wanted to get her the vtech one but can't really justify it :(

Exciting day yesterday..went to laundrette as washing machine on the blink.again grrrrr. Have engineer coming out on weds, have no idea how i will.cope Angry

Lostbobbles · 17/11/2013 11:46

Hope all the poorly babies are on the mend and you are feeling better Bugsy Thanks

DH away now for a couple of weeks Hmm.

Currently in soft play ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused MADHOUSE

Birdies we have been using vtech walker for a while, at first I just walked with her but now she is a whizz only forwards until she crashes, has not mastered turning

LetThereBeCupcakes · 17/11/2013 12:34

Sorry not been online much - rough few days here. Bugs hope you are feeling better.

We have the VTech walker. DS is fine on it but we have quite thick carpets so it doesn't go very fast.

We have been summoned to a 12 month check with the HV. Does anybody know if these are compulsory / what happens if we don't go? Don't think I can take another session of telling me where I'm failing.

lollipoppi · 17/11/2013 13:42

Hope everyone is feeling better soon

We have a walker DD is currently zooming up and down the hallway on it but we also have thick carpets, she also hasn't mastered turning and throws a paddy when she gets stuck!

Very brave to go to play centre on a Sunday! We have been trying to decide what to do all day and yet were still in the house, may go out this afternoon

Cupcakes we had our 8-10 month check up last week, they just weighed and measured her and did some development checks like can she clap 2 bricks together and does she respond to her name ect ect, I doubt they are compulsory

glorious · 17/11/2013 14:56

Similar check here, and I just glossed over her sleep (I said that she still wakes but gave no impression of how much) and smiled and nodded through all the bad advice.

But I get why that sounds unattractive. It isn't compulsory.
