As I so frivolously finished the last thread, I thought I'd better start a new one. Go!

Happy birthday angie

birdies, with the tongue thing, I think it's because they can feel their teeth. Nancy tucks her top lip under her top teeth, and then stick her bottom lip over the top (rubbish explanation). It makes her look like a little old woman.

She's a bit of an escape artist now, she's figured out how to climb out of her chair. And she's really found her voice the last week or so, and laughing a lot more too.

Hope work has been ok cupcakes, I'm sure nursery will get better soon, and for you too newbie.

How do you wean off night feeds? She eats more at night now than she did as a newborn. It's still only twice at the most, but none would be better!

Lostbobbles · 12/11/2013 15:10

Happy Birthday Angie ThanksWinex

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/11/2013 15:34

Happy birthday Angie - hope you have a lovely day.

DS seemed much better today. He was crying again when I arrived but I waited outside without them seeing me and after a few seconds somebody went and picked him up. He was quite happy then. He had beef stew for lunch. He eats better than I do!

Creepy my friend is trying it at the moment by reducing the length of time she feeds by a minute at a time. I'm not sure how it really works though - I reckon if I tried that with DS he'd just drink more quickly!

AppleCrumples · 12/11/2013 16:43

creepy i weaned Ivy at night by basically ignoring her Blush But i'm sure she was only waking up through habit and i was just feeding her because it was easy. Its been less than a week though and she still wakes up and i hide under the covers til she settles again . I do give her a kiss etc to help settle if she doesn't settle herself though i'm not mean :)

cupcakes glad today went better.

Happy birthday angiel

Whoever was aaking about ITNG we have some figures from it and a ninky nonk that a friend passed onto me. Think i saw them in argos.

We have lots of shouting and she is climbing everything including ds2, she uses his hair to pull up! And has discovered our old play kitchen and just sprnds ages opening to door.

Hope those going back to work are settling back in. Ds1 took a while to settke when he started nursery when i went back to work. But he did settle in the end and enjoyed it.

Angielka · 12/11/2013 21:19

Thank you, thank you Thanks. Have had a lovely restful birthday topped off with a glass or two of bubbly, a gorgeous Indian meal and two birthday cakes greedy pig.

creepy I also did the reducing bf at night by a minute at a time, but got stuck at 4 mins... Hmm then we were hit by bugs and I felt sorry for the poor little thing unlatching her when she was mid-glug.

I'm away with work on Thursday and Friday so Molly (and DH and DPs) will have to deal with no night feeds and only breast milk from a beaker for a couple of days heaven help us all. I wonder how easy it will be for me to leave my meeting for milk-expressing breaks Hmm

DD1 was wandering around the living room singing 'yes my name is iggle piggle' this afternon so you can add her to the list of ITNG fans. We don't have any kids channels so she's only ever seen it on youtube, but that was enough. I don't get it at all!

mrsbugsywugsy · 13/11/2013 09:37

Happy birthdayangiel

Dd has been up all night vomming. She has stopped now (and has eaten two oatibix and has a big grin on her face)meanwhile I am knackered and me, dp, dd and our bed are all covered in sick. Lovely.

mrsbugsywugsy · 13/11/2013 09:37

Congrats meringue

Meringue33 · 13/11/2013 11:02

He's just been vomming all morning :( Hope being poorly isn't the only explanation for sleep!

Hope your LO is better Bugsy. I've got a whole wash of sicky clothes now - mine and his!

Happy belated birthday, Angie :) Cake

BuntyCollocks · 13/11/2013 12:57

Happy belated bday angie!

Ranitidine seems to be working. Two good stretches last night 7:30 - 11:30, then 11:30 until 3:30, up for the day at 6:30. I can cope with this!

glorious · 13/11/2013 13:26

eugh to the vomming. It's so much worse now they're eating more isn't it. milky vom isn't so bad.

I'm so glad it's helping bunty Smile

We've been to our first playgroup today. It's one our childminder goes to and she suggested we go together for a bit to start getting E familiar with her. E went off playing with her quite happily and made a picture of a poppy with glue and tissue paper. Bless! She doesn't start until February so it's a very gentle beginning. Feeling quite positive about it Smile

Tugstonia · 13/11/2013 13:44

Happy belated birthday Angie! Cake Wine Flowers

Bunty great news on the rantidine and sleep!

Yay Meringue too on the sleep! Although boo on the sick :( Hope your DS is ok. And your DD too mrsbugsy.

My DD threw up in the car yesterday and it managed to get everywhere. She seems fine though, think she gets carsick.

DD (well me and DP really!) watches ITNG too. Is it just me or is every episode pretty much the same?!

CreepyCrawly · 13/11/2013 21:45

Yay on the sleep meringue! And so pleased things are getting better for you bunty.

Hope the spewy babies are better soon.

Thank you for the suggestions on the night weaning, little madam slept from 7 til 6 straight through. I'm telling myself it's a one off though.

Had a lovely day today. Even though she hardly slept, she's been absolutely lush. Ya know those days where you just have so much fun with them and it makes your heart hurt? I'm not allowed to do anything on my phone though, she grabs it and gets Siri up. Not even sure how she's figured it out it why she does it.

CreepyCrawly · 13/11/2013 21:47

Glad second day was better too cupcakes. And for you too glorious, the poppy picture sounds lovely.

mrsbugsywugsy · 13/11/2013 23:49

God yes glorious I could handle milky vom, but dd throwing up actual food last night really grossed me out, especially as she was in bed with me at the time and it went all over me and in my hair Envy < boak

On the plus side dd is now peacefully asleep and I have just booked a holiday Smile

lollipoppi · 14/11/2013 09:16

Mrsbugsy yuk on the sick but EnvyEnvy of you booking a holiday!! Where are you going?

Hope all the vommy babies are better soon!

Yay on the sleep Bunty and meringue!

Off for Darcie's 9 month check today, I don't really know what to expect I can't even remember DS having one?

Anyone changed car seats to a forward facing one yet? DD screams in her baby seat, she hates it, depending on her weight today I may go and buy a forward facing one I think she would be much happier in it!

How's your LOs daytime naps going? DD seems to have given up on them and just has 1 nap after lunch Confused

Lostbobbles · 14/11/2013 09:18

Bugsy/Meringue- wish dc's better. Not at all pleasant and Tugs, car seat vom is the worst, washing those covers is such a hassle.

I'm dreading solid food vomiting bugs , my DD1 is five and so far we have escaped so going to jinx that now by writing this

Pascha was it you who said you have the kiddy car seat? Is it the one with the impact shield instead of harness? If so how did your DS1 get on with it at first?

Also anyone have any present ideas for 2yr old boys?

I have had my mum and step dad staying, my SD has Alzheimer's so it's been hard work, feel so sorry for him and especially my mum as she literally does not get a minute free of him, he follows her everywhere like a puppy Hmm. DH has kindly informed me that if I ever get like that I'm going in a home!! Such compassion!

No further development on step taking can still only manage 2/3 and doesn't seem that interested.

Good news on your DD Bunty, just sorry it took so long.

Oh and Bugsy v Envy of holiday

Meringue33 · 14/11/2013 10:22

Urgh now I am down with the lurgy too. DP has luckily stayed home to help look after us both. Am in bed holding sleeping LO, who won't be put down. Unfortunately am parked opposite our mirrored wardrobe and keep catching sight of my green and horrid face!

Lolli my LO loves the forward facing car seat and hardly cries in it now. He also mainly has an after lunch nap now, for 1-2 hours, though he sometimes also still has a morning nap too.

Pascha · 14/11/2013 10:32

Lost yes we have the Kiddy Guardian Pro for DS1 and will get another for DS2. He has always been absolutely fine in it, very secure and comfortable and the impact shield makes a great table to drive his cars and a headrest when he's asleep.

I can't actually remember what we got DS1 for his 2nd birthday Blush It was only last year! I just looked through photos and can see a Happyland farm, a My First Scooter, a toy tractor and trailer. I am quite sure he got a multitude of cars, vehicles, books. For christmas he got an ELC wooden garage, playdoh, wooden train set etc.

Also very Envy of a holiday. We have been vaguely planning to do Disney Florida in 2015 when DS1 is 4.5 before he starts school until we realised that he doesn't actually like rides. He's scared of the ones outside the supermarket when they are turned on. Danny isn't great with loud noises and bangs either. So no rides, and no parade, no fireworks. No point in going is there? Maybe we will reconsider when Ds1 is about 8.

Dan is now scooting round furniture and pulling up on everything. He's turned into a right menace to leave anywhere for long. The room divider gate is coming back out this weekend before I lose my mind.

Bunty so glad Cam is improving sleepwise. Hope it continues for you. Meringue Yay on 7-7! Not so yay on the sick though. Hope you feel better later.

Lolli good luck with the 9m check today. We have ours at a year here, think DS1's was 13 months. He ran into the room so no need to check mobility status!

mrsbugsywugsy · 14/11/2013 11:42

We are going to lanzarote, not the most exciting destination but made sense for a first holiday with dd in terms of cost vs weather, short flight and no jet lag. I am more used to backpacking and budget hostels so am ridiculously excited about staying in a hotel with a pool and booze food included.

It has cheered up an otherwise pretty grim day - I have been vommed on again and then dd pooed on the floor while her nappy was off.

mrsbugsywugsy · 14/11/2013 11:45

We have a 12 month check here btw

Meringue33 · 14/11/2013 14:10

Been sat reading this thread to cheer me up

Lora1982 · 14/11/2013 15:18

Finaly updated his photo for anyone wishing to see him now.
