MM you are the John Prescott of buggies!!! Is that pushchair five or six? Grin good for you for having him round your wee finger though Smile my sister adores her BJCM the one handed fold is literally that - you can fold it in one hand with your baby in the other (great for Edinburgh buses!). Your cooking sounds divine! Ta for the tips on boundary pushing woofers. It's so helpful having you a few weeks ahead. I know what you mean about worrying about them sleeping outside - I worry about Betsy in the unheated old and draughty excuse for a conservatory but the dog trainer who came over yesterday reckoned she'd be totally fine. We couldn't keep the cage door open for Betsy at night as she'd be after the cat hence it felt a bit like a jail - so we compromised with the enclosure in the conservatory as it means she has safe space for herself like you say (though Jonas is forever trying to crawl in there to play pattercake in her water bowl and chew on her pig's ear Hmm), we've taken the cage out now and just put her snuggly basket in there and she goes to bed happily too.

Oh god I'm one of those mad animal women who talks about my pets more than my child. Grin I had thought my years of living in a menagerie stinking of animal piss, wearing eccentric hats and dodgy knitwear and drinking lots of Wine were a few decades away but clearly they've got here sooner than planned.... Ahhh well it's too late for DH I'm married now... Grin

Passmethecrisps · 29/09/2013 14:54

yw at the vet recently I referred to the ageing pussy as p and corrected myself with "oops! Wrong child!"

MissMummy1 · 29/09/2013 16:04

It would only be number 4 Blush And one of those was bought for my mum to use she hated it and bought a mclaren type thing I am still between bjcm and the 360 nipper but need something smallish for if/when we buy a second car.

Poor wee p Sad

MissMummy1 · 29/09/2013 16:10

Right, lamb is still frozen (thanks to my over efficient fridge) so I am cooking bruschetta, spanish chicken and chorizo and some warm brambley fruit pies and homemade custard for our date night meal (we have agreed to take it in turns to cook a special meal and plan a special evening weekly). I am also going to make banana bread and banoffee meringue mini desserts with some bananas that need used, and apple cake and sausages rolls with the apples next door's 4yo picked me. All before bedtime. Wish me luck!

YellowWellies · 29/09/2013 17:13

That is the only downside of the nipper it folds down big. Your menu sounds awesome!

ChasingDaisy · 29/09/2013 17:21

I got called a MILF today. I felt this was Facebook status worthy. I forgot that I am friends with my stepmum on FB. Text from my dad "your stepmum wants to know what MILF means. I know but won't tell her"

Totally awks.

PurplePidjin · 29/09/2013 18:02

hope she picks up soon Thanks

GT every day you can give A bm strengthens him that little bit more. A week is good, but your milk will come in over the next couple of days and the hormones make you go absolutely fruitloop. So bear in mind you might not be completely rational yet Wink read kellymom during long feeds, loads of useful info

Been to ILs for weekend. Shattered. Vvvdp gone for Chinese. And R has a new girl cousin in america :o

GTbaby · 29/09/2013 19:24

Pass how is lo now?

I'm feeding again. Will be doing bf related midnight reading to keep me motivated.
He feeds from my flat side more. Which is no longer flat! And def doesn't like inverted side.
He has a 3 hour nap today! Which was great. But has been feeding ever since.

Ds1 has been at mums all day. Getting worried as he is off food n drink. N a lil clingy. But not clingy to me.

PurplePidjin · 29/09/2013 19:29

You'll get used to the midnight reading, gt, i nearly ran out of interwebz once Shock

Passmethecrisps · 29/09/2013 19:46

Lol @ running out of the interwebs!

P is in bed but very unsettled. I am going to have one last go and then go to bed and take her with me. She slept fairly well in my arms earlier I think because I could respond to her dummy being coughed out.

I think her temp is down a bit.

ditsygem · 29/09/2013 19:47

pass really hope she gets better soon - it must be so stressful and worrying for you. hugs

ChasingDaisy · 29/09/2013 20:18

pass sending lots of cuddles to you and P xx

Pikz · 29/09/2013 20:36

Give P a huge squish from L x

BigPigLittlePig · 29/09/2013 20:41

Pass I shall think of you and P when me and F retreat to bed together vair soon. I hope P perks up soon, it's horrid/scary when they're so poorly Sad

GT maybe H is just a bit confused. You probably smell a bit different to what he is used to, now that your milk has come in. No doubt he'll settle with a bit of time - a lot has changed for him in the past few days. Sounds as though the bf is going well, so well done xx

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/09/2013 21:07

chasing Glad you had a good night. Sorry xp wankerman upset you.

mm I've seen vq on the christmas bargain thread so she's obviously too busy shopping to check on the quiche. waves to vq
And the bjcm one handed fold is just brilliant. And it folds nice and neatly. The wheels easily come off if you need it really small but it's quite small folded even when they're left on.

pass I'm so sorry poor P is ill. I hope she has a good sleep tonight and it helps her recover.

det I was thrilled to read that O coped with the diary. Hoping this is the start of a dairy full diet for him (albeit very slowly introoduced obviously).

gt Agree have short term goals. bf is relentless for the first couple of weeks. You're doing great. Look forward to hearing what you decide to call A.

Had a great night out last night with my mummy friends. Was great to be able to talk about the kids without worrying I am boring my other friends. And no hangover this morning, yay!

DH has been working over the weekend so we went with him this afternoon. He works just off Regent Street. Back in the day I used to work on Harley St and we walked past it. I said to DD1 "mummy used to work here" and she replied "but mummy, you're not a man" Shock I think I need to introduce her to our hard working quiche mummies. I'm not setting a good example. Did make me giggle though.

We went to the selfridges toy dept and E started being sick. She was in the sling so it was just going everywhere. A nice lady led me to the nearest toilet and sick was just dripping off us all the way. Lovely! I had left the bag with a change of clothes at Dh's office so had to pop to baby gap and get a new outfit. Nice excuse for a bit of sneaky shopping anyway.

TheDetective · 29/09/2013 21:19

Oh no, poor P pass :( I hope she is feeling better soon.

Glad her temp has come down. Fingers crossed for a better night all round.

GT It's all changed for him, it will take time for things to settle down. He will pick up again. :) Babies are excellent at adapting to change!

Pidj congrats on R's new cousin!

YW I have been super restrained this time. I went through so many prams with DS1. Can't believe I still have just the first one I bought! So not like me...! Grin I have a pram addiction! Blush Nice work on persuading DP for another one MM! Can't have too many prams Grin.

Speaking of which, I've been outbid again tonight on eBay for the Maclaren I want. :( GRRR!

And talking of eBay, fucked off, postage costs are ridiculous, eBay now take a percentage of your postage costs, with that and the FVF and paypal, it's bloody ridiculous! I have some absolutely gorgeous Next 6-9mth stuff which is barely worn thanks to the lovely summer. When it comes to selling it, I will not be doing it on fecking eBay. Remind me of this in a month please!!

Chasing oooooops indeed! Tell your dad you'll pop his sense of humor in the post for him. Grin I was actually going to reply but was sidetracked by O! Probably best I didn't know, as it was rather rude Grin.

O is so cute when he is going to sleep. I took a video of him tonight, sucking away on his muslin. I just cuddled him for ages. I love sleepy O Grin. Sleepy cuddles are the best!

Oh, I found this on eBay a couple of weeks ago for birthday/christmas - what do people think? Wooden Music Table

O is now walking confidently. Still on the bum a lot, but he is doing the full length of the room. He is still rather pleased with his efforts! Grin

TheDetective · 29/09/2013 21:35

DP was Blush tonight when O decided it was hilarious to smack his belly and watch it wibble. Glad it was DP. And not mine. Grin Grin Grin

Slingers - I really want a structured carrier for both DP and me to use, wrapping is nice if we are going for a walk, but I want something for putting him in and out when in the car. What should I go for? And do the sling meets lend them, and if so, how much am I looking at for a month? Thought it would be better to try before I buy!

Kyz · 29/09/2013 21:47

Evening everyone. I hope all is well? I shall read in a mo, but before I forget, how is it you know they're ready to drop a nap? E has one at 10-11 then one 2-4 and goes to bed at 7 but this past week he has been getting up earlier, going sleep after 8 even though bed at 7 and takes up to 40 mins to fall asleep for a nap. Sometimes he goes straight to sleep, usually he plays for a bit. I am wondering if I should try cutting the morning sleep and moving the afternoon one to the middle of the day type time? Today he went to sleep at 2:20 and woke at 3pm but then went straight to sleep at 7 when he went to bed. Suggesting 3 hours is no longer the time it takes for him to get tired, but longer perhaps now he's bigger.

Thanks kirrin he's still a bit peaky but i'm sure his appetite will return eventually :)

Can't wait to hear what you call LO gt do you have anything in mind?

hey izzy how was last night? Bless you :(

sounds great re dairy det!!! woohoo :)

oh no bry hope G is better soon and you don't catch it too

hope you feel better soon pikz

sounds like a really nice time you had fruit :)

oh chasing that sounds really lovely :) Your XP is a cunt. Cunty cunty weasel arse.

bet you thoroughly enjoyed your lie in bplp i'd love one but dp has yet to get the hint! Git! Sounds like an awful night you had though :( How has F been today?

Bless your DH yw I bet he thoroughly appreciated you anyway but I think when they have to do a bit of juggling they realise just how tough it can be to do the simplest of things!

Oh pass poor little P sounds like a sorry little scrap :( I really hope she gets better soon. Hope tonight isn't too bad. I really feel for you, all of you with poorly babies, it must be such a worry when they're so very poorly, E has had a cold and that's been horrible enough.

pr you've reminded me I need to get some of E's presents ordered too, I am not sure what to get tbh. I wanted to get him an aquadoodle thing but it says 18months plus on it.

sounds like a really good weekend mm and i'm glad you and your dp are getting on alot better now. the 360 nipper is truly fab and i'm besotted with mine! Bigger to fold than my umbrella thingy but nowhere near as big as some so was quite pleased :)

congrats on the girlycousin pp :) sounds like a busy weekend! enjoy your chinese

gt it must seem strange for H but he will get used to things, bless him

eliza eek! Glad you managed to get sorted i'd have been in a right faff! Is E ok? is she poorly or was she just sick just because?

That wooden table looks awesome det :) And E likes wibbling dps belly i keep him away from mine!

Can't remember what else I was going to say!

GTbaby · 29/09/2013 21:49

So today H met A. Lol
Like properly. My sis bought him into the room. I had A under a blanket. Was kinda practising covering up. So sis n H sat there. Then I took A out n it was the first time H has seen A held by me. (In hospital when they met A was in bassinet next to me). He seemed to smile(cutely while sucking his thumb) and kept looking at us and was chuckling. Was a cute moment. He didn't react when A start crying. Just kept looking.

now I'm home. FH is off this week. H will see me more. Told FH we need to get H back into his routine as I think that affected him aswell. Things should settle down soon.

Although did have thought "soon FH will be back at work!" Confused But gona push that out of my mind for now.

Kirrin · 29/09/2013 22:09

Sounds like you had a lovely evening yesterday sophia:)
To me, the Style threads might as well be in a foreign language. I am not stylish!

chasing Grin for kissing. :( for tears. Ex-DP is not worthy of your tears.

Glad the puppy training is going well YW I wish I had put more effort into my 2 when they were tiny. They are ok. Ow, but it's been a long slog and it would have been so much easier to sort it right from the start. lesson learnt.

Great news on diary gate det :)

Big cuddles to P pass poor little thing :(

Hope f is ok bplp

det apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but I have just been introduced to an app called Local eBay Deals Finder and it's great - you put in your postcode and it finds you all the collection only items currently listed on eBay near you. Might help with finding a pram?

Speaking of prams, congratulations on the BJCM MM Grin

Setting a BF goal is a great idea GT Must have been cute seeing. H meet A. they'll be best buddies soon :)

BigPigLittlePig · 29/09/2013 22:09

[wibble] GT! Do you have a baby jail for H? F would be off like lightening and up the stairs/sticking fingers in sockets/whacking ten shades of shit out of the cat/tv/breakable things. Sounds like a lovely moment though.

My mum has come down to save the day. Bearing in mind that dh had a week off work 2 weeks ago (when F was ill), and I was off for a week ill one week ago, we figured that either of us having more time off to get F through this bug would not go down well. My ILs sort of whistled and looked skywards when we mentioned having F tomorrow, so I rang my mum and she has driven down in the rain, for 2 hours, to do emergency babysitting duties. And she has brought a joint of beef to cook roast dinner tomorrow Grin

Eliza I hope E is ok and that the vom is a one off. Sounds like our house the other evening lol.

Have we had the gory details form chasing yet??

YellowWellies · 29/09/2013 22:22

Awwww GT!

OK Det you and MM can be the quiche buggy Imelda Marcos! Grin

MM you know how your pup is a few weeks ahead of ours and our DS is a few weeks ahead of your DD - when she starts crawling could I suggest you put bepanthen in a drawer higher than you think she can reach.... J crawled to the drawer I keep it in, stretched up, opened it and passed it to pup who promptly impaled the tube onto her fangs and ran around with it. Envy They are thick as thieves and have been christened 'the imps' by DH and I. He also opens the cat flap to let her out!

Kyz glad E is on the mend. Pass hope P is soon too.

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/09/2013 22:50

kyz It was proper old skool throwing up like she used to do before the tube. There was no warning it was coming, it just started and wouldn't stop. She didn't cry at all. She was sat on the floor in the toilets in selfridges thank god they were clean covered in vomit smiling at her reflection in the mirror and trying to kiss herself. They have lovely huge full length mirrors. Oh the mirrors arent; in the toilet cubicles but the wash room bit. Mirrors in the bogs would be odd!

I think she may be a touch poorly, both me and DH have had a slight tummy thing for the past couple of days. Nothing to trouble us but weird enough to stop us eating our usual amounts. No harm there for us but E isn't eating nearly as well as she has been. Bit like your E. Glad he's getting better btw. Just hoping there's no more vom. (thanks bplp)She's only just started to put on the weight. She likes to keep me on my toes.

Sorry...that was a really long reply!

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/09/2013 22:52

Awww GT Their meeting sounds so cute. I'll never forget when DD1 met E. It's a lovely moment.

Lily311 · 30/09/2013 06:25

pass how is P this morning?
gt meeting must have been mega cute. Is H walking? Will you have any help after FH goes back to work?

det yey! for dairy test.
bplp glad your mum can look after F.

I need advice. O has been waking at 5.30 in the past week. She used to sleep from 7-6.30. She doesn't sleep next to me, just thinks the day has started. I'm absolutely exhausted. The only thing that changed is that she doesn't drink her milk in the evening anymore, she has 2 oz than wants to go to sleep. So what would you do? I'm thinking if dream feed or feed at 5.30 than put back in cot. Not sure either will work. It's pitch dark in her room.
