Aww GT bless Thanks

Det even I've been through 2 prams Shock granted the first was a pile o' shite given by my mum's mate because she'd stopped being needed for child care and the second cost £40 on faceache Hmm

Yes, your library will have a variety of SSCs to try, costs vary but ours is a fiver a month.

Hope the sicky babies do it on somebody you don't like next time are better soon Thanks

R slept 6-6 with a bum change at 10:30. I was asleep by 8:30 Blush Chinese was yum, only egg fried rice and satay chicken but a huge extravagance for us :)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/09/2013 07:11

WHERE OH WHERE IS THE CHRISTMAS BARGAIN THREAD?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/09/2013 07:18

lily what I did with early morning wakings and not finishing the bedtime bottle was........

1.) cut down the afternoon bottle by almost half
2.) cut cut down 9 am nap to a strict 30 mins
3.) because shorter am nap lunch a touch earlier but he then had a much better lunchtime nap which take him through till 7

It did help.

More to say but a bIt concerned DH has not materialised. Must go and check!

StuntNun · 30/09/2013 07:20

We had an awful night here, J was up for hours screaming and ended up in my bed. I've just had to put him back in his cot to cry because nothing I do seems to help and when I hold him he's arching his back and hitting and scratching me. It's only 7 and I'm already at the end of my rope. Confused

OP posts:
Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/09/2013 07:24

Oh, he is actually showering. Phew.

Prams are like handbags, one required for every occasion. Love my nipper though, half been more restrained with each child!

Hope all the poorly babies are feeling better this morning. Am glad I have water between me and you lot!

O is just a head case. Is confirmed. He stood on an oversize Lego brick (storage thing) yesterday in dive position. And, well, dived. Straight onto his forehead. Shock No egg but lots of tears and enormous bruise.

And I am off to check out a new nursery today so I can have one sane data week.

Our short afternoon walk turned into an hour and a half and DS1 walked all the way without a whinge. We had a great time, and home for slow roast pork.

Then I was in bed before DS1 I was so tired after Saturday nights fun.

Am jealous of your Chinese pp can't remember the last time I had one.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/09/2013 07:25

Has he a tooth stunt or are you not braving approaching the mouth area.

Here you are Brew, porridge with honey?

Pikz · 30/09/2013 07:45

Appears according to DH I have man flu. He got up with L who slept in til 7.

Anyone had a micralite?

Nursery settling again today... Eeek

YellowWellies · 30/09/2013 07:48

Pikz my SIL had one and loved it buuuut she drives everywhere and her LOs were mostly hauled around in car seats so it won't have had much use and I wouldn't take that as a recommendation based on day to day wear and tear.

Lily311 · 30/09/2013 07:51

Thanks sophia.

I haven't thought about cutting the afternoon bottle, that might be a good idea. I will try with 4oz today and see. She has been napping for an hour now as she was absolutely shuttered. But I think I might implement the no late napping than 9 am so she will be in bed by 12.30 in the afternoon. It's really hard as she has been sleeping so well up until now.

I have two prams, the bjcm and maclaren triumph. Love both but for different reasons. I alternate them all the time.

I must find O's winter sleeping bag today, it's freezing during the night here. She was warm though as I put vest plus warm pyjamas on her.

Pikz · 30/09/2013 08:00

Thanks YW I was interested due to all the travelling we do and was thinking of a twofold as could use it with a second.

Stunt I have no advice but big Brew and hugs

Well done mini PP.

Sophia for dresses try nw3, boden, Laura Ashley (weirdly) and lk Bennett sale!

PetiteRaleuse · 30/09/2013 08:18

Morning quiche.

sophia the Christmas bargain thread is in the Christmas section. I am v Envy of it as everything is so much cheaper than here. When I bought LO's birthday presents yesterday I got them on Amazon. So much cheaper than anywhere else and with free delivery. I hate supporting them rather than independent stores but needs must.

I hope all the babies are a little better today? My two have been snot monsters since about three weeks now. DD1 has gone back to coughing during sleeps, and creche have been on at me to get her seen by the paed. I will take her in this week but try the humidifer tonight. This started last year at the same time. I am trying to tell myself that it doesn't mean she'll get pneumonia again.

Prams. In the next few weeks I will be getting rid of our big pram as we hardly use it any more. We have an umbrella buggy too which I got for about €30 and that will be our last buggy, unless it breaks. DD1 wouldn't go in a buggy once she could walk. We had the back carrier for when she got tired, and LO enjoys going in that.

Just settled down to watch the two first episodes of the new Grey's Anatomy but they're not up yet. Am furious with my TV provider as they are supposed to be up 24 hours after them being on TV in the US, and it used to be my Monday morning tradition. Anyway, maybe will be tomorrow. I have a lot of clean clothes to sort out anyway.

The lamb was really good. Nice easy recipe, can ignore during the time it is in the oven. Perfect.

Sorry about your bad night stunt sounds like he was in pain? Teeth?

I've written out my whinges about work. Did it on Friday, took two hours, 2000 words in French. I was going to send it to a legal eagle today but DH didn't get the opportunity to rework it. My written French is ok but the sentence structure is all wrong.

Passmethecrisps · 30/09/2013 08:26

Morning all!

Thank you for your well-wishes for p. She slept reasonably well eventually. Being in with me was a disaster though - how do co-sleepers do it? She snored she flapped me in the face, she rolled and rolled and rolled. Lasted about an hour I think. She woke crying at 6:30 just as DH rolled in from mammoth 18 hour shift at work. I thought she would go back to sleep but she wouldn't settle and eventually took the full amount of her brekkie bottle so looks like she is on the mend. Temp is back to normal as well thank goodness. She still isn't quite herself but it is good to see her racing out the room towards the stairs.

I have decided to take today off as there is no way I could leave her with the CM and DH wouldn't be fit.

The Chinese sounds lovely pp. I love Chinese but DH doesn't so I never get to have it. I think egg fried rice it delish!

We have just bought a new stroller so we will be officially a two buggy family. What did you get mm? I am afraid I missed a lot with temperaturegate yesterday. We plumped for the uppababy stroller as DH found the 2012 version really cheap.

How is F BP?

Passmethecrisps · 30/09/2013 08:27

Yes stunt. I am sorry your morning has started this way. I really hope he feels better soon.

MsJupiterJones · 30/09/2013 08:30

Detective have you looked on the Cosatto website? giggle.cosatto.com

There has been a problem with some batches of the Treet, if you input the batch number from your chassis it will tell you if yours is affected. Mine is Sad

ChasingDaisy · 30/09/2013 08:44

stunt how awful, sounds like something was really troubling him Sad

pass I am thrilled to hear that P sounds better today. Good call on taking the day off today.

I am getting the Graco Evo mini next month, tried it in store and loved it.

So yeah, Saturday night was good. We drank, talked all night as we always do and ended up back at mine for pizza. Fell asleep together and there was kissing. He still wants to be just friends though. For now Hmm I won't pretend I'm not gutted but am trying to distract myself.

I have my first driving lesson next week so focusing on that and planning Oscar's birthday.

I also think the time is right to tackle self settling. Going to start with bedtimes and take things slowly. So for one week starting tonight I am going to rock him almost to sleep then pop him in his cot. Am undecided as to whether I should leave the room at this point or stick around for hand holding, back rubbing etc. Any thoughts?

PurplePidjin · 30/09/2013 08:55

Brew all around. Sorry lily am still bfing so no idea on bottles! Glad P seems better though pass

i hope you and izzy are next to get the sleeping knack! I still remember how tough the night wakings are, and i woke about 3 times last night preemptively!

Off shopping with my mum today. Dp needs new trousers - he's in age 13-14 from all the weight he's lost ShockEnvy but the tesco jeans i got him are a bit skinny, he says he's too old for that and can't get his keys in the pockets!

applepieinthesky · 30/09/2013 09:07

GT That's so cute. Will you have MIL to help out when FH is back to work?

Sorry to hear about the poorly babies Sad

I don't think it's going to work out with my job. They expect me to be flexible but they aren't at all. It has to work both ways. I cancelled my doctors appointment this morning because it would be too awkward with work and my mum has taken a days holiday from her job tomorrow to have C because I have to go in on what is usually my day off. Then I ask for friday off instead and the answer is no. My manager said she would rather I stick to my usual day and have tomorrow off but it has already been arranged with my mum. Really fucked off. Especially as I'm missing C so much lately and don't even want to be here. I think I'm going to start looking for something else. Struggling to avoid telling them to shove their job and walking out

Passmethecrisps · 30/09/2013 09:10

Yep lily that sounds like a plan. I personally wouldn't introduce dream feeds at this stage. Maybe offer less milk but replace with a wee snack. It won't fill her up but will keep her going.

Trousers too tight to put keys in are no good for any man pp!

StuntNun · 30/09/2013 09:23

No sign of that top tooth this morning but after I put him back in his cot J went back to sleep for an hour so I got a shower, cup of tea and an emergency ration of chocolate to revive me for the day. Phew!

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/09/2013 09:42

Oh apple that is so annoying that you had to cancel your drs appt. it was so hard to get. Did work know you had a dr appt? I suspect the dr would have signed you off for a bit. What would your work have done then? I would seriously look for another job too. They sound like a bloody nightmare. Im fuming on your behalf. Please do try and get another appt. I know you're feeling better than you were but I do still think you would benefit from a dr trip. These things can't just be brushed under the carpet.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/09/2013 09:53

sophia highly recommend the Christmas bargain thread. I have saves so much due to it and am also very organised this year now. For the kids anyway, adults have nothing Grin

pr I was thinking that last night. I have spent a lot on amazon but its so cheap and easy. I just cant really justify spending double the price of something in a shop. It's a shame. I'm going to take myself to the local independent shops nearer Christmas to get some last minute things that can't be found on the Internet, although in this day and age that's very little.

pass glad p is getting back to her usual self. I agree with the co-sleeping. Whenever E gets in the bed with me it mainly involves me getting slapped in the face or her latest trick is to pinch. Lovely.

Pikz · 30/09/2013 10:42

Yay for 45 happy minutes at nursery!

Chasing and pennie we have embarked on self settling again this week.

We find he will grumble in his cot for a while and then before he finally nods off we have to go up and re arrange him and stroke him for 2 mins. But it's getting less and less each day.

TheDetective · 30/09/2013 13:03

That's how it went for us too Pikz. Now we don't even get the grumble. He just fidgets with his muslin/blanket til he is asleep!

O is going to the park with SIL when I have gone to work. I don't like SIL so it is clouding my judgement. But she is taking her DS who is 16 months, and O. In a double buggy. Why? Not sure. I hope she doesn't think O is wearing shoes and walking around. She is going to have fun with 2 babies. Seems a bit daft to me. Surely 2 adults taking them would be easier and more fun?

I am wary of her giving O food. She better fucking not. Her DS is the lactose intolerant one she feeds quavers and cheese pasty to. Hmm I don't trust her.

Speaking of which, O has just had some more yogurt. Fingers crossed!!
