Elimination Communication. I know a woman who's 1yo runs round at home in a nappy with no cover so he can feel wet Confused

R hollers when he's dirty of too wet anyway, without getting piss on the sofa!

I clearly have mad friends as i find the idea of a potty for a 10mo completely normal :o

TheDetective · 24/09/2013 18:51

I now know the reason for the 5.45am waking, resulting in giving him a bottle.

And the ultra clingyness yesterday.

Motherfucking bastarding tooth number 4! The other top tooth. So now we have 2 top front and bottom.

And of course now I have the laptop out, O is insisting on sitting on my knee. Even though he was perfectly content, playing at the other side of the room. So I am reduced to one handed typing. Hmm

Crap day in the office today. Super aching today. Hmm O however was utterly delighted with my return. He was in MIL's arms, and practically launched out of them, in to mine! Then MIL wanted to give him a hug goodbye, and he just shook his head and buried his head in me, clinging on for dear life everytime she put her arms out for him.

It's good to be loved!

Hope DP gets home soon. My fanjo feels like it's turning inside out. Feel like I've been kicked up the arse with a boot. Hmm

Going to get O shoes tomorrow I think. If I can find any I like. Can't find any in Clarks or Startrite. So will get him measured for now. Does anywhere actually do nice shoes for babies? That won't cause foot damage? I don't like the styles in the above places.

Made a lovely spanish spinach omelette for dinner. Out of the book Peaches sent me! O loved it, particularly the spinach. Must make more spinach recipes!. I have eaten a load of it too! It's supposed to go with my baked potato for tea. Oooops!

Fatima Hope you are feeling better!

Chick It sucks being back at work. I'd love to stay at home.

Kyz Sorry to read about your bad night. It is true - you stop being used to the sleepless nights, so it seems harder to cope with just one bad one. Weirdly.

GT Your PIL's are fucking batshit crazy! Hope FIL got shit on. Grin

Chasing Yay for neighbour with baby! Take her on a coffee date Grin.

Brockle I love that Y did that! So cool!! That'll teach DS1 eh?!

O going mad, post will have to end here! Demanding child!!

ChasingDaisy · 24/09/2013 19:31

GT poor H Sad Is he coping any better with his baths now? O cried during his today so I'm wondering whether his skin might be getting sore again.

Well since he learned how to crawl a few hours ago, he hasn't stopped! He has mastered the kitchen laminate, pulled the phone socket out of the wall and knocked a glass of water over!

In other shocking news, the ex in-laws apparently think I'm doing a good job with O Shock They are very impressed with his crawling as well as his eating. All helped by the fact that XSIL hasn't started feeding her 10 month old meals yet Hmm He still has just milk and a few snacks. Plus, is nowhere near crawling. Yeah, I'm smug

Also non-date guy 'liked' my FB video of O crawling. I am more pleased than I should be about this

Trying to start potty training when another baby is due any day is just about the worst timing possible. I know a woman who does EC with her baby but only for poos, but apparently he only goes every few days so that makes it easier.

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 20:33

Reduced movements. Being monitored in triage. Had a routine mw app anyway. Heart beat sounds good. But still no movement. N my bile acids are a lil bit higher then they should be. Mw said baby is sleepy despite the cola earlier n lucazade just now is not helping. Getting a lil anxious.

Re potty training. In India they don't use nappies. To expensive. But they don't have carpets! She is a nut case.
Will try put a stop to it but suspect she won't try again as it is more work for her n I ain't sitting there.

Battery is low. So sry I'm I go radio silent on you all.

ChasingDaisy · 24/09/2013 20:35

((((hugs)))) GT. FWIW I had several episodes of reduced movement and Oscar was completely fine. Thinking of you xx

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 20:36

Chasing was going to do two baths a week. So nxt one was yesterday. But he was so poorly just washed him down with wet towel.

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 20:38

gt I also had reduced movements! I had to be monitored quite a few times towards the end, S was fine as well. X

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 20:43

Hello all.

Sounds rubbish GT. Good excuse to eat chocolate though. Fingers crossed all is well.

P had her consultant appointment today. She now weighs 17Ib1oz so has put on 750g in 3 months. This makes her on the same curve which is between the 9th and 25th. Consultant was pleased. She is on the 50th height and 90th for noggin. She was showing off good style walking round and round his room. He was trying to make her come to him and muttering about stranger anxiety. Fat chance. She hurled herself at him and ended up stretched out on his knee getting her tummy rubbed!

Brockle · 24/09/2013 20:44

that's cos you are doing an amazing job chasing

putting babies on pottys is fine if they are happy about it but it won't get them out of nappies any earlier. SIL did that with DN and he still wasn't potty trained at 3 and a half. Y hides to poo. if he is in a corner or under the table.he will be brewing a poo.

hope you are feeling better fatima Smile

given that he will have shoes on so little det I would stick with clarks/startrite. get him some glam wellies for winter Grin

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 20:45

And yes, chasing! O is secure and happy and healthy which is why he is doing so well.

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 20:46

P likes to stand to poo now. She makes grunts and her wee eyes stream. If you catch her eye she does a little strained smile at you.

ChasingDaisy · 24/09/2013 20:52

Oscar is 90th for noggin too pass! I bought him a hat today and had to buy the 1-2 year old size Shock

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/09/2013 20:56

I am Shock gt. Stupid bloody mil.

I can't really comprehend trying to potty train a child that can't speak. E does tend to poo roughly round the same times each day and I can always tell when she's going but no way would I try and potty train her. Still each to their own and all that.

chasing Haha good on you and good on O for showing up SIL's parenting ways. You should feel very smug.

fatima Glad you've managed to at least rest up today. Good luck with the eating!

brockle I know what you mean about the christmas bargain thread. Things like that end up making me spend more money as I try and justify buying things I wouldn't have before because they are cheap. I do keep my eye on it though to see if things I am intending to buy are on special offer.

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/09/2013 21:03

Thinking of you gt. Hope all is ok x

pass Am so pleased the appt went well. I was thinking of you earlier. P is doing fantastically well.

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 21:05

brockle and pass you have both just made me lol and nearly wake S up....... At brewing a poo (I used to have a poo corner until I was about 7 where I'd 'brew' Blush) and even more so when I just got a visual of P straining and smiling Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 24/09/2013 21:06

Hope everything ok gt xx

Knackered tonight, screamathon from a teething F who's just gone to sleep on me. Haven't had tea. Haven't started work presentation. Total nightmare.

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 21:09

Haha! Maybe i should take a poo pic? Or is that abuse?

Thanks eliza I was really pleased. He is delighted with her eating and was happy that she is getting enough calcium.

I was watching her earlier and thinking how wonderful it must be to be so utterly trusting and self-assured that you can lie in the arms of a strange man and be completely unconcerned. How a shy mummy made such a loose lady is beyond me!

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 21:14

What's the presentation on bp? My pp tip is less is more. Let what you have to say do the talking rather than people gawping at the screen. Spend less time fiddling with the software and more time thinking about your delivery. As a shy person who loves public speaking I am an anomaly. Take 3 or 4 sharp breaths in just before you need to get up. Look at your audience, take a long breath in and smile. If people are on your side it really helps and if you smile at them genuinely then they will be willing you on.

BigPigLittlePig · 24/09/2013 21:19

Whatever I like (lung diseases) - haven't even decided yet. Shall see if I can get it done at work tomorrow.

Pass how much milk does P have? F has had 8oz today Confused so am a bit very twitched about calcium.

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 21:28

I see. People like to hear speaking. Trust that.

P has about 180-200ml in the morning. 120ml afternoon and 260ml evening. During the week she eats salmon, avocado, baked beans and hummus every week.

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 21:28

Paed gave the 'around a pint' chat

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/09/2013 21:32

bp agree with passes presentation philosophy. Once worked with some Sky News/ BBC presenters on a regular event I used to run and they defo said, less slides, more talk, keep reiterating your message in different words and " leave them with a soundbite" Hmm

Hope you are ok gt thinking of you! update us on your progress. Xx

Well done Oscar dude! You are doing a fine job chasing

Night night everyone. (Look at me, posting after 6!!!)

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 21:35

This is not a drill. I'm being induced tonight at some point.

Is this the start of my live birth thread? Keep in mind folks that last induction took 3days... Can I just stay here with you guys? I can't think of a name for a new thread. And can't link from my phone anyway.

Confused Oh I'm getting nervous.

YellowWellies · 24/09/2013 21:38

BP was it you or Bryz who recommended the tescos free from tropical smoothies - heaps of calcium and great for CMPI babies. Another tool in the arsenal. The bear hates beans and avocado!!
