Urg. We are all ill. DD got sent home from nursery on Monday due to a rash/temp/crying. DH took her to hospital and she has something called herpangina. Basically rash + mouth blisters + temp + generally being out of sorts. DH and I both have the same symptoms, plus headaches, sore throats and achiness. We are due to go on holiday on Saturday. Please can we all get better by then.

I came into work as frankly dealing with the DC while feeling so horrendous was not an option. Am just trying to get through the day.

Good news on the weight loss journey stunt. Like kyz and det we are now doing SW. It's not too bad.

lily I adore my dishwasher. And you've done the right thing by telling your friend to stay elsewhere, otherwise you would just simmer with resentment when he was in your space.

fruit it must be weird. New chapter though and all that.

Where is VQ?

Oh and the sleep regression which has spanned 8-10 months and still going strong can FUCK OFF! Angry

I already named her, she is called Amazing Allison, AA shortly. She will be very highly valued, I promise to top her up with salt if needed and switch her on regularly every day.

Bryzoan · 04/09/2013 13:55

Very very exciting lily :-)

Lovely to hear from you horsey!

Get well soon team Gazelle.

TheDetective · 04/09/2013 14:40

I'm going back to work on Monday.

Fuck.

:(

TheDetective · 04/09/2013 15:09

Any opinions on this travel highchair? Seems too cheap to me. Confused

I now need a travel highchair and a travel cot pretty soon!

And new work shoes.

Thank fuck my uniform fits.

Ps. I am going back to postnatal ward. So I'm going to be clinical from day 1. Confused Confused Confused I can't see this going too well. Oh well. Have to show willing... Hmm

horseylady · 04/09/2013 15:25

detective what have they based their decision on? It's very difficult to know what to do for the best sometimes. I'm suffering a confidence crisis at work. But I hope it'll be ok long term. Fingers crossed!!

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2013 15:34

Not caught up. Will try to later.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now Stunt (((hug)))

Very busy here as DH is unwell, as is DD1, Nana is visiting, and J is failing miserably at nursery. Seems he loves his mummy too much, bless him. Still, at least I have the car Grin

Met with my boss and HR today, and I am going back on 7th Oct full time at the clinic near me. Unless of course I go back as the Boss GrinGrinGrin

Must go, J screaming.

TheDetective · 04/09/2013 15:48

No idea Horsey. Confused

VQ You will be the boss Grin.

Lily311 · 04/09/2013 15:53

det I have that chair at my mum's. we love it. It's perfect for this age. You can fit it on any chairs and it really keeps O secure.

Pikz · 04/09/2013 16:20

Hi horsey

You will be the boss VQ.
Det we have that seat. Very good!

Get well team gazelle Thanks

Awesome news on dishwasher lily.

Am exhausted for date night and can feel temperatures fraying as we are both tired.

L is determined to do himself serious damage today

Thank's for the thumbs up on the high chair! If L can't escape Pikz I think O will be safe! I need it to go to MIL's and my mums. I don't think either of them want a full sized one at their house!

Pennie I took the antilop last weekend to my mums. Bit of a faff when I'm going to work. I need to drop and run! Plus 2 small cars mean I need small things Grin.

Pikz Me and DP had a date night planned tonight. O and DS1 were going to MIL's. Arranged to drop them at 5. However DP has been hacking at the garden all afternoon, and knackered, and O is in a very bad mood. He just seems absolutely exhausted.

So date night has been cancelled, neither of us can be arsed. And we don't want MIL putting O down to sleep given the grumps. Last thing I want is him up late. It's just easier to stay in. Bollocks to it!

DP has gone to MIL's for a visit with him. So at least I get a break from whining! He's been a bit crabby all day really. :(

TheDetective · 04/09/2013 17:46

Stunt O's diet is dairy and tomato free. A blood test seems pointless as he isn't eating the potential allergens. I would rather the skin prick testing.

But, the challenge in hospital seems okay as an alternative I guess. I think it won't be for 4-8 weeks though.

The dairy isn't worrying me so much. But the tomato does. I'd be shitting myself at the thought of giving it again at home.

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2013 17:53

Det you will be grand back at work Smile

We have this travel cot and I like it.

Hi Horsey - hope the work wibble settles down.

Eagerly awaiting travel high chair suggestions. My mum wants one to keep at her house. Similarly, how can I convince my mum without sounding like a stroppy brat that I don't want her to buy a cheap car seat for M? I spent aaaages researching seats when I bought mine and chose the best/safest I could afford that would also fit my car. I don't want that to all be undone by them buying a cheap seat because "she'll rarely use it". That one or two times may be the time she is in a crash - hopefully not but this is my logic - and I would hate for M not to be as safe as she can be. Anyway, any ideas on how to broach this one, other than offering to buy the damned thing for them?

Sending get well wishes to madame 's pad.

Way to go on the dishwasher lily - mine gets well and truly abused!!

VQ you will definitely be the boss Grin - but if not, then great news about the relocation closer to home!

I've had a really lovely day with M. We had tea and cake with a baby friend this morning and then went to swimming lessons where we had lots of fun 'surfing'. Then when we got home we shared some left over pasta (I love having lunch with her!) and we're now cuddled up on the couch while I do some work piss about on the internet and she snoozes. Bedtime is fucked but this is lovely Smile !

Lily311 · 04/09/2013 18:10

mm I told my brother that O would never sit in my nephew's car seat. He stropped for a while but I don't give a shit. My child, my rules.

horseylady · 04/09/2013 18:35

I've seen this in use was good.

I've got in at a higher position but I feel a bit out my depth. It's because I'm not sure what's going on. They just keep saying I shouldn't need to be told what needs doing but I don't know where certain projects are at etc. it's getting me down a bit. Good luck in the interview vq

Strange to think this time last year we were on final countdowns!!

YellowWellies · 04/09/2013 19:03

I'm loving crawling. He's hilarious. Grin Grin Grin He's currently chasing a bottle of water that I'm rolling along the hallway.

MM I think you might have to pay the difference between the cheap and expensive seats. It's only fair I reckon as she's pretty involved as a Gran rather than a tight arse / never see them type who should be stung for every penny Smile Smile Smile ?

Bryzoan · 04/09/2013 20:55

Well done on the promotion horsey. I say don't let them knock you. I would Jay smile your biggest smile and say of course you don't need telling what to do - but you do need briefing in on the current state of projects (shifting to slightly quizzical hard stare). Don't let your confidence get knocked!

Waney det - good luck Monday! We have this and it is very good and feels very secure - though I would of course hesitate to say o proof!

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0002VZ21E

Mm car seat wise I think I would compromise if all journeys would be in 30 mph zones, for example. Otherwise I would say "I know I'm being paranoid but I'd like to pay the difference".

Kyz · 04/09/2013 20:58

evening quiche!

woohoo on the sleeping through mm and yw

sorry the appt was a waste of time det, and hope work goes ok when you go back - know it's not tomorrow but thought i'd say it so i don't forget!

stunt you've done fantastically with your weight loss! well done!

woohoo for the dishwasher lily

nice to hear from you horsey glad things are ok :)

sorry you're all ill madame sounds quite nasty :( hope you're feeling better for your holiday, and good luck with SW, it's weigh in for me tomorrow, i am actually quite nervous. Would you believe it or not I have managed to stick to it. I know it's only been 6 days but I haven't had any chocolate, or eaten any little bits here and there, not at all. I have shocked even myself!

sorry to hear of more illness in valium castle vq it's not fair :( hope J settles in at nursery soon too. I am sure you will be the boss. You should be!

sounds like a lovely day mm - I think your logic is sensible so maybe just explaining it how it is won't make you sound spoilt? I like yws idea of paying the difference, that sounds like a good plan to me :)

Today I did some zumba on my xbox kinnect. I used to do 45-60 minutes on hardcore/whatever it was called and enjoyed it thoroughly, felt like I had had a good workout but not totally fucked. Today I put on a basic beginners 20 minute one and after the first routine of 4 1/2 minutes long I was completely bolloxed! God i've got alot of work to do to get to where I was. I am beginning to doubt I can do it and chocolate is SO tempting. Chocolate hobnobs in fact. Grrr. I mustn't though. must. not. do. it.

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2013 21:24

Thanks everyone, I am more than happy to pay the difference but I know the stubborn mare my mum is (I know where I get it from...) she won't accept any money. She will just go ahead and buy what she thinks is best. Urghh! I might see if I can win my step dad over by quoting some statistics at him... To be fair though, 99% of the driving my mum does is within 10 miles of her house as she cannot drive any further, and I would say virtually all of that is under 30mph.

Kyz I feel your pain. I used to be able to run and climb mountains, and now feel knackered after a walk around the village. I am planning a decent bike ride at the weekend so hoping I can manage it! As of Monday I really am going to be getting strict. I think it will be easier when the dog is allowed out for walks too and I have to do it.

GTbaby · 04/09/2013 22:02

PL being teacher I was at work in July. Then off August. Now back for a week until Friday.

I actually feel ok. By end of day my pelvis is suffering however other then that I feel good. But I think leaving Friday is best as I don't want to stay longer and then feel run down.
And I want to enjoy the last few weeks of being just the three of us particularly lo. Kinda feel like we won't have quality cuddle time for a while.

I took him to gp with emergency app. As he sounded a little wheezy. He has a chest infection Sad been given anti biotics, an inhaler! And steroids.

Can see trying to get him to use the inhaler will be fun!

Kirrin · 04/09/2013 22:45

Hi horsey Nice to see you :) Congratulations on your promotion.

Yes, MM that definitely counts.

congratulations on the dishwasher lily Mine was out of action for a whole week recently and I nearly cried with joy when it was fixed Grin

Hope you are all feeling better soon Madame Thanks

Monday detective ? :( Can you appeal?
Mothercare have a travel cot in offer at the moment for £25. it was of those cot/playpen ones but a bit smaller than average.
We have a folding plastic high chair from mothercare. It's like the one you've linked to essentially, just plastic. It's really good - DD1 still uses it without the straps as she need the height. So worth the money, basically. I think it was about £15.

Oh. I've just followed *horsey's link and that's the highchair I'm talking about!

Sympathies kyz I get out of breath walking from the car to the office these days. It takes 15 minutes :(
