Thanks Lily

You have no spare room. He can't stay with you. End of discussion.

YW Sad

GT i hope it works for you Brew

R went down in 15 minutes Shock

Kirrin · 03/09/2013 22:25

hello all :)

I agree crawling is great fun, even if it is harder work now. N scoots over to me when I get in from work, and then pulls herself up on my leg and it makes me smile every time. It does mean she can get to DD1's toys though, which isn't going down too well Grin

you sound more positive today stunt - that's good. Hope DP can keep up and build on being helpful and supportive.

how did DS1 get on detective ?
My old dog saved 'accidents' for when we had visitors - never did it any other time!

ditsy I had a night like yours - awake from 3.30-5.30 and then up for the day just after 6. Teeth are to blame, I think, although I can't actually any new ones coming through. Hope you managed to chill or have a nap during the day. I find getting out of the house is the best thing to do after a bad night.

Glad the Doc is taking it seriously pass Glad to hear you're feeling ok now.

boo hiss to cheese reactions YW But Grin that you seem to have gone off it. I expect you can work through that!

lily That is taking the piss a bit. 10 days is a long time to invite yourself over for Shock I don't think suggesting a hotel is unreasonable but I'd be too wet to if it were me

yay to R pidj Bedtime here took over 1.5 hours again. I am losing the will to live. I did manage to not completely lose my rag though - which is an improvement Grin

MissMummy1 · 03/09/2013 22:33

YW I went off coffee in a big way when preggers and am only just beginning to be able to stomach it now after not drinking it for so long. Boo to J reacting though. Is the plan still to stop bfing next month?

I have bought a bike seat for M (and a decent second hand bike for me now I've resigned myself to not getting my bike back from my sister after 3.5 fucking years ) I can't wait to use it at the weekend but need advice on helmets. Her head diameter is 44/5cm but the smallest I can find starts at 46cm? Do I go with that and pop a hat or more foam padding on her?

YellowWellies · 03/09/2013 22:59

MM yeah I think so. I'm certainly going to mix feed from then but was surprised by how unbothered I was by cheese! It made me realise (now the end is in sight) that I could happily do this diet for longer if needs be. Maybe when I try chocolate I'll be persuaded to ditch BF altogether, but at the mo' I'm torn. He's so wee going onto a milk that's less calorific and nutritional feels counter intuitive Confused . Hmmmm I'm going to introduce a lunchtime bottle next week so he can be fed at nursery I think how well he takes to that will determine what we do.

GTbaby · 03/09/2013 23:01

Oh and re water. Lo still won't drink from any sippy cup I try.
He throws them around like a toy.
Tried with a regular small glass today. He loved having it put to his mouth and feeling water with his lips. But doesn't keep water in his mouth to actually drink.

Right night night folks. Gota get up early for work. Mat leave starts on Friday

YellowWellies · 03/09/2013 23:09

Jonas drinks water much more readily out of a beaker than a sippy cup. Sometimes he water boards himself but..... Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/09/2013 06:46

lily are you sure that s not you that is the attraction rather than the cheap dental work.

Grr operation NI time us not working. So they go to bed late and they wake up early. I might just go back to early nights that way at least I can get my chores doe.

Pikz · 04/09/2013 07:07

Sophia we are the same. Have resigned myself to going to bed earlier.

Now can 9 month sleep regression fucking do one now please.

Lily311 · 04/09/2013 07:09

Haha sophia. He is happily married with a 3 year old. I actually calmed down now and found a b&b for £120 for 10 nights. He has no option but to stay there. I need to study and that comes first. The annoying thing is that I asked him to leave at the end of September and his ticket is for the 4th. My exam is on the 10th.

YellowWellies · 04/09/2013 07:32

The thought of cheesy BM was clearly so bad - he slept through.

Lily good plan!

PurplePidjin · 04/09/2013 07:34

I hate the 4am Battle Of Doom Sad

Pikz · 04/09/2013 07:52

PP that is exactly what we are having. Every other night is a 4am battle. It is definitely regression as its what we had as a sleep pattern at 4/5 months old.

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2013 09:21

She slept through! She slept through! She slept through!

she went to bed at 1am, still counts right?

ditsygem · 04/09/2013 09:30

Thank for the support yesterday guys. It was a tough day, but he then slept well last night and I feel human again this morning.

It's a tough on isn't it about being a SAHM vs working. I know how lucky I am that we can afford for me to stay at home, but I've given up a career a worked hard for and was very successful at, and I know there are hundreds of people who will jump at my role now that I have handed my notice in. On difficult days with F I miss working and the routine and adult company that comes with it, and the excitement of juggling lots of projects.. now I juggle feed times, dirty nappies and crying fits and oh my gosh it is so much harder then my job ever was! I think working 2 days a week would be a great compromise unfortunately its not something i could have done in my old job but maybe here will be something I can find in the future that will suit that sort off working.

Rant over.

Kirrin I hope you had a better night last night too.

Lily definitely tell him he can't stay as you don't have a spare room and need space to study - plus with a LO its not that easy to have people staying on your sofa!

PP and pikz hugs - 4am is not a good hour of the night to be awake. have lots of Brew and Cake

ditsygem · 04/09/2013 09:32

MM woooooo!!!!!

TheDetective · 04/09/2013 09:38

6am start. Out the house at 7.30. Waste of time.

Was a blood test. I declined and said I'd wait for the Consultant to arrive in work and discuss with them.

Upshot is he is being treated as allergic to dairy and tomato based on his skin reactions to both. I told her about putting milk on O's skin. She said he is allergic. Blood test will be of no use. Skin prick of no use. He should have a challenge but in hospital.

So that's what is to be arranged.

She said the history is more important than a clinical test.

I wanted confirmation :( oh well.

Can I go back to bed now please?!

fruitpastilles · 04/09/2013 10:15

I just called work to tell them I'm not going back. I thought I'd be overjoyed, but feeling a bit....meh!
In going in Monday afternoon to hand in my letter, was just going to post it but I've been told I must go in to say bye.

fruitpastilles · 04/09/2013 10:15

*I'm going in

StuntNun · 04/09/2013 10:33

Yay MM go M. Why was she up till the wee hours?

Why didn't you want the blood test done Detective? My DS1 had the patch tests done at about 7yo and it was a pain, you wouldn't want to that with a baby unless it was unavoidable. The challenge will be tough for you I'm sure.

J started crawling yesterday and is currently trying to work out how to get up the stairs. I may have to put him in his cot so I can go and hunt for the stair gates in the loft.

We had another bad night last night, I think J was up for two hours in the middle of the night. The HV's advice was a bit rubbish, she recommended waiting 30-60 seconds before going into him in the night. IMO that's going to give him just enough time to work himself into a fully awake hysterical mess whereas if I get to him quickly I can sometimes shove the dummy in and he'll go back to sleep.

So some good news for a change, I have lost 21 lb which is the same as J weighs now. I have 9 lb to go to reach my target weight. The next Mumsnet low carb bootcamp starts on Monday, if anyone's interested the thread is here.

Lily311 · 04/09/2013 10:45

I bought a dishwasher. It's coming home on Monday. I'm ridiculously excited.

Bryzoan · 04/09/2013 10:48

It's funny, isn't it fruit. I thought I would be happy to. Maybe take the time to make sure you are certain before putting it in writing. I have texted my old boss to ask for a chat and will be asking if it is too late to change my mind... But I think it will be. Ditsy - just remember you can juggle all those things to - your time will come again (also talks to self and the other sahms). I do feel lucky to be able to stay home and definitely want to be with the kids most of the time - so it feels daft to be sad. But still...

Bryzoan · 04/09/2013 10:52

Way to go stunt on the weight loss. Raised eyebrows to the hv. No use at all. I think vq should be appointed as the head of a new quango to overhaul the hv service. I shall write to David Cameron the moment I have time.

YellowWellies · 04/09/2013 10:56

Thanks Stunt I've signed up and will join in once I'm off dairy free restrictions. Smile

horseylady · 04/09/2013 11:29
