Anyone else has appointment for a development reviews? Wondering what they do? What questions to ask? What should he be able to do?

No appointment yet. Do not worry at all. It is just a very basic check to make sure all is well and there is such a wide range of 'acceptable'. They will be mainly looking for signs of hearing or sight loss, and to make sure baby is responsive and trying to do things for himself. There will be something in your red book about the kinda things babies are likely to be doing. But they are all different and this has no impact on their future career opportunities.

GT we had one at 7 months. She checked his pincer grip, his responsiveness to me and whether he watched a ball as it was thrown behind him. Also, the normal weight and length. She declared him very advanced

We had an appointment sent through, but we moved, I need to phone them really but the stuff is in a box somewhere. Maybe I should just phone the children's centre on Monday.

Morning all!
Struggled to keep up with the Fred this week with being back at work and then shattered at bedtime. Will try my hardest to catch up.

Just had breakfast and M is spoon feeding herself more and more often now, she's getting quite good at it.

M was 9 months yesterday so I took her to get weighed as we haven't been since 6 months. She's just below the 50th percentile. Was looking at her curve and if she follows the same pattern she won't be 9kgs until at least 12 months so no need to worry about new car seats for a long while.

Also, I'd wanted to buy some new clothes for her but wasn't sure what to get. She's in 6-9 now but don't want her to grow out of them quickly. But the 9-12 look huge. I've had a look at the next size guide and I think it'll be a while before she's in 9-12. The weight says from 9.5, she's 8.1 and it's taken her 3 months to go from 7.1 to 8.1.

Clothes wise, O is in 9-12 month trousers and 3-6 or 6-9 month tops. He is 91st centile for length and 25th for weight. He has inherited his mother's body shape - long legs with short torso.

that was really hard saying goodbye to Oscar just now. He doesn't give his dad a beaming smile like he used to and he was quite shy around him. He has only just woken from his nap and now he has been whisked away from his mummy.

jj we have this pushchair from Argos. It's quite good. We use it just for holidays. It reclines quite flat and has a basket. The swivelly wheels are good but can also be locked too. My MIL will use it when she watches J and in fact my dad prefers this to our vista as he can work it!!

Sleep is atrocious here. J woke up every 1hr50 mins last night from going to bed at 10.30pm with one nice 23 min one as well! I'm sick of it!

He is doing well with food. A bit fussy and prefers fruit to veg which in trying to alter but to be honest he eats so I don't mind.

We go on holiday for a fortnight in a week so I will need to take food to last us due to the whole allergy info in Spanish! Was thinking maybe pouches as they would be easy to pack? Any recommendation? Dairy egg and nut free?! I Will just get the wheat flakes I've been buying for breakfast.

I've had a nightmare with my pram but found out yesterday I will be getting a replacement chassis which is a relief!

Chasing, he sees his dad once a week yes? That is a long time for baby. It might be that you need to review contact. Tricky. I guess the test is how he gets on.

Pennie measles? Yikes! I thought they had been given those jags? Poor little baby for adoption too.

Maclarens all the way for lightweight pushchairs. The one we have can be pushed easily with one hand whilst restraining a nutty toddler with the other. It will soon be my only pram as I really must sell my beloved Mountain Buggy

I will see if I can find a cheapish Maclaren. Ours was preloved for £35 with all the bits.

Best price I can see for a maclaren volo is £69 from pramworld, but the cover etc is extra. It does not recline, and is pink, an extra £10 for the black. This is why I like preloved stuff

Measles jab is at 12 months. pennie I hope it passes quickly.

At this age Chasing it's normal for babies to only want their mum, or whoever is their primary carer. It's one reason why it's easier to start your child at nursery at 6 months old rather than later. J will not go anywhere near his granny at the moment and he sees her at least once a week. It is just a phase and it will pass.

While we're talking about measles, I have been advised to have J's MMR given at a hospital as there is a higher risk of a reaction due to his egg allergy. I hope she recovers quickly Pennie, I had measles at 3 and it only lasted a few days but I'm sure the rash is itchy.
