The 9 month sleep regression definitely exists and don't I know it Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 28/08/2013 20:50

Hello ladies.

Quiet at the moment.

Nothing to say really. Just saying hi.

Feeling a bit weird today. A bit morose. I quite enjoy a bit of morosity sometimes to be honest. Wee bit of navel gazing. Think this is dragging on a bit though. Feeling a bit on a sidelines of everything. Not really special to anyone. Just there. Ach well.

Anyway. I have just spent a happy held hour hoking through a bag of what we have worked out are 4th hand clothes. They are gorgeous and at first purchase very expensive. Lots of fabulous colours. I can't wait for p to be big enough to wear them. I was having a wee smile to myself earlier thinking 1st wear they will have been lovingly and carefully washed and pressed by the nanny. Second and third wears they will have been lovingly and carefully washed and pressed by the mum and granny. 4th wear they will be shoved in the washing machine and worn wrinkled!

Passmethecrisps · 28/08/2013 20:50

Home is where your slippers are sophia.

Pikz · 28/08/2013 20:56

Kyz · 28/08/2013 21:13

Evening!

E did well at lunch today, had a quiche, and tried blueberries (halved) for the first time, ate 19 halves! Along with 7 sizeable strawberries and 5 raspberries. Sure does love his berries! He also has discovered he can stand without holding on to anything for about 10-15 seconds whenver he feels like it. Scares the crap outta me!

Det I should probably stop worrying if E takes a small amount too, given that he is quite a big lad and is clearly doing ok for himself and capable of working out what he wants and what he doesn't!

Glad going to the chiropracter helped chasing :)

kirrin we are getting some tantrums here too. Usually over a whole lot of nothing and i'm not sure what to do with them?!? It's usually because he's told no when it comes to poking fingers in sockets/grabbing for hot drinks etc. I move him away and get a mahoosive screaming fit, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes with tears and a paddy for a few minutes. No idea what to do or if it's normal or what! He gets really cross too!

Sounds like you've got a good handle on the christening pp :)

thanks for the skittles tip det sent dp for some today, will put them up for birthday or xmas

sorry for such a shite night vq and that j is so poorly again :( it's so fucking unfair!!!

choc that's pretty skilled!

Took e about an hour to finally go to sleep tonight too! Most unusual. fucking regressions. We had better not have a 5am tomorrow morning!

I am going to SW tomorrow. I am starting eating 'properly' on friday. I will do this, oh yes i fucking well cunting will!

Pass you are special to us :) so there! It has been quiet on here I've noticed. Maybe we should talk more? I know i've been busier of late so haven't been able to post as much.

Donnadoon · 28/08/2013 21:21

Again kyz I frickkin love your summaries Grin
I think these mobile babies are wearing us out, today my little flower pulls herself up on the kitchen bar stools and the empty kitchen bin and needless to say they toppled over with her. She is not crawling in the kitchen again, apart from it not being the most hygienic floor in the world...
Anyhoo VQ How's your boy?
I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and not feeling sick like death anymore, woohoo!

YellowWellies · 28/08/2013 21:21

Struggling to keep up!

Pass big squeeze and offer of a melancholy wee dram. You're the closest most special thing in the world to P.

GT I had j at 36 weeks - wow can't believe you're there already.

Where's PR? I miss her posts.

MM good saving skillz. Smile

We're off to see a litter of pups tomorrow. We've had our name down with the breeder since Easter. V excited. They're border terriers. We figure I'm working from home for the next 5 years, walk 5+ miles every day and have our own place to wreck hmmm maybe better in rented!!! so there's never going to be a better time to get one.

Donnadoon · 28/08/2013 21:22

Ooooh pikz your summary is brill too Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/08/2013 21:24

Is there such a thing as a safe plug in night light? Is so dark here. Is for me not the boys Blush

MissMummy1 · 28/08/2013 21:26

YW puppies are fab! Aulay has been an absolute breeze compared to what I had expected. Toilet trained within a weekend and now has a firm understanding of his/Matilda's space. You need to come and meet him!

MissMummy1 · 28/08/2013 21:27

His only crime to date is the decapitation of my scarecrow Angry Angry Angry

applepieinthesky · 28/08/2013 21:40

MM It will get harder when he starts teething and chewing everything in sight, believe me. C put my brush through the bars in the dog crate yesterday and the bloody dog ate it then gave C his tennis ball in return Grin

9 month sleep regression definitely exists and don't I know it.

GT so exciting! As others have said, don't get too hung up on H's birth, each one is different and is no indication of what will happen this time. Your body knows what to do now and it should be a bit speedier if nothing else.

It was my first day back at work today. The less said about it the better. Wish I didn't have to go back. My baby plans are on hold at the moment. I'm on medication (nothing serious - skin disorder) which means I have to take contraception as it could be harmful to the baby if taken when pregnant. But I have had the discussion with DP and he is open to trying whenever I'm ready Grin so perhaps when I've finished this course of tablets and lost a bit more weight.

ValiumQueen · 28/08/2013 21:57

Not caught up but just checking in so you do not worry. J is not a happy bunny and neither am I, but we are surviving. Gonna try to get a bit of sleep now c

PurplePidjin · 28/08/2013 22:01

Been to dn's 6th birthday - that's my ILs 2 hours drive away. Fab time. Hate motorways. Love the lovely family. Lots of bouncy noisy kids and adults wanting cuddles from a very amenable R as most of them saw me last year very pregnant and the year before as dp's new(ish) girlfriend :)

Turns out i need to marzipan and ice the cake, so not off scot free. Any tips? Cake

Kyz · 28/08/2013 22:04

glad you're not feeling crappy now donna :)

ooooh more puppyness! lovely yw

not sure sophia sorry

ah :( apple :( sorry it wasn't great. Hope it gets better :) good luck with the babymaking stuff soon too :) I so want another, but can't just yet. also need to lose a little metric fucktonne weight for starters!

Pikz · 28/08/2013 22:08

Ooohhh more puppies for YW!

Donna glad to hear you are feeling better. Am a little bit jealous as I loved being preggers from about 14 weeks onwards. Apple I want another now, but must be patient til April.

Sophia lindam do them.

Kyz, hope your ok and good luck with slimming world.

Vq and J just huge huge hugs xx

Pikz · 28/08/2013 22:09

PP don't over handle either... Use cot flour for rolling both out and remember they shrink back when drying.

TheDetective · 28/08/2013 22:11

So much to say. No energy to say it.

Will settle with hello and if you want to encourage your baby to walk, take them to a soft play. We aren't going back!!!

PurplePidjin · 28/08/2013 22:16

What's cot flour? Confused

MsJupiterJones · 28/08/2013 22:17

Thinking of you and J VQ xx

daisychain76 · 28/08/2013 22:18

Evening, supposed to be packing for a family break in Llandudno tomorrow, but have given up. Gt my MW with dd (my 2nd) made me laugh. She said ?we don?t say this at the time, but with your first baby the birth can be horrific. Second time round is usually a lot better?. And, in my experience, she was totally right Smile (of course, she didn?t mention 3rd babies...!)

Pass hope the moroseness is short lived. l find some brisk walking always helps me feel better.

Sorry to hear about all the 9 month regressions. l can say, with 2 months hindsight, it definitely passes but not soon enough

H has a huge bump on his forehead from launching himself over dh (who was lying down) onto our very unbaby friendly parqeut flooring. Has clearly not learned from it as has spent the whole day pulling himself up on various unstable objects (dd, toy pram, etc), trying to pull cats tail and generally hurling himself round in between eating any paper he can find. I am still a bit jealous of gt and donna tho!

Pidg is it plain icing or a themed sort of cake?

Pikz · 28/08/2013 22:24

Corn sorry PP. stupid autocorrect.
