Although I likely need to throw it all away as I should have soaked the sodding broth mix overnight and boiled for 10 minutes and skimmed etc. fuck Grin any thoughts on how to rescue it?

Report
ValiumQueen · 25/08/2013 15:00

Well, having looked on the net, the broth mix contains nothing with toxins in that require soaking, it is just done to speed up cooking. I plan to cook it to death anyway. Good.

Just keep boiling Wink

R and i went swimming this morning, dp is roasting a chicken for tea. Grampa's apples off the tree in the garden are a new favourite food, peeled and sliced. Chosen over breadsticks no less!

I think his sleep issues are related to his dislike of wet nappies. Am going to experiment with different types of boosters - probably microfibre next to his skin under the fleece liner, then either a Holdens Landing or Bamboozle (the recent good night was mf and Bamboozle) and his longies over the top. Cloth users, any ideas?

No chance of packing Pidj as I still have J and he is very unsettled at the moment, we've been on wall-to-wall Calpol for the last 24 hours. I'm thinking a top tooth may be about to make an appearance as he's off his oats as well poor thing.

What is a SW roast chicken VQ?

I liked a SW roast dinner Grin. I will never ever ever use proper oil for my roast potatoes again! I love them done in frylight! Confused They are so crispy and perfect! Nom nom!

MIL is now on her way over, mad dash around the house, and everyone has had pants thrown at them Grin.

Okay. I know this may be totally tempting fate, but I think O is finally sleeping through the night. Properly. I have not given him a night feed for a month. DP has twice, but the last one was 3 weeks ago. It has all coincided with reducing his milk down to 3 bottles. Confused He doesn't even need the bottle when he wakes. I am toying with dropping that one and just doing breakfast now. I don't know though, as I thought morning and night was the 'correct' timings for the milk feeds?

Anyway, we still have some unsettledness going on in the cot with him tossing and turning. But intervention from me and DP is much much less, and is usually reserved to the time before we have actually gone to bed.

Also, we are no longer getting the 5am starts, because he isn't waking for that feed then being unable to go back down. He wakes after 7 now. Today was 7.30, so was yesterday.

I did threaten him though, as I am going back to work in 3 weeks. Grin He better not have a sodding regression after this!!!

I don't want to rub anyone's faces in it Blush. I am well aware others are having shit nights still. I just wanted to offer some hope that eventually, they will fucking sleep! I wish I could see in to his mind and work out exactly what the reasons for the sleep are! I would like to share them!

On pondering further - several things came together at once. The mornings got darker, the 4th bottle was dropped, we got a blackout blind, although it is shit, and I didn't think it had ANY effect although perhaps it was enough to make a little difference?? Also lunch was given more reliably.

Or maybe he is just wearing the fuck out of himself with his boundless energy?

Fuck knows.

And the extra hot weather fucked off too. It is just humid now as opposed to roasting. Hmm

Ooooh, I did have a quiche question! Clothes! And what are your babies wearing?!

The weather here is cloudy but it is consistently warm. Even when raining. Hmm I would say outside varies 20-25 degrees.

O hasn't worn a vest under his clothes all summer. He hasn't worn a cardi or jacket all summer either.

At night he is wearing a vest and a 1 tog sleeping bag. He likes to be very warm at night though. Occasionally he wears a babygrow if it has dropped below 24 in his room twice then!.

In the day in the house he is either wearing just a nappy, or a vest, occasionally a babygrow.

When we go out he is wearing either shorts/tshirt/short romper, no vest. Or jeans/dungarees/leggings with a short or long sleeved tshirt.

Yesterday we went out and he was wearing chinos, with a short sleeved tshirt.

I was wearing a summer dress, and DS1 in shorts and tshirt. It was about 20ish degrees. We were all warm. O was sweating when I took him out his car seat.

Yet when I was looking around at everyone else, people were generally in 'autumn' wear. People wearing jackets, trousers, long sleeves, etc. We probably looked like a bunch of knobbers, but we were very clammy and warm.

Is it just us? O sweats terribly. So do I. DP sweats the worst though Grin. DS1 doesn't sweat, but always moans he is hot. So, in the last couple of days, what have your babies worn?!

Det O wears a vest, trousers and t-shirt usually at the moment. Shorts if it is extra warm and long sleeved t-shirt if a bit more chilly. At night he is in a long sleeved vest, short sleeved if hot and 2.5 tog sleeping bag as I don't have any 1 tog ones.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/08/2013 16:28

Det - today - babygro (lazy day) and cardigan. Yesterday - tights, cord dress and cardigan; day before - long sleeved vest and dungarees. But F is a cold baby - still in babygrow and 2.5 tog bag at night.

F just drank 10 oz of milk in one go. This is UNHEARD of Shock. Such a little piggy.

Will catch up properly later - hope nice days are being had by all xx

He's not out-weeing them, that's the thing Lily the nappy is wet but not the bed in the morning. Wool is fab for that. So it must be the sensation inside iyswim?

R is generally in vest or tee shirt + jeans/jersey trousers/dungarees. I avoid babygrows due to the fatal combination of cruising and parquet!

In other news, I'm finally getting on with my crochet. They might just be finished before he grows again!

O has been wearing a vest and shorts only though it's still around 30 degrees here. She slept in 0.5 tog sleeping bag with nappy on but yesterday I put a vest on her as it really cools down during the night. She has some gap pjs, I can't wait to start using them.

Grr teeth.

O has been wearing this week, a vest, a pair of trousers, socks, a t shirt, a cardi or hoody. That is in NI. In Berkshire he was in shorts and a T. Vest only at bedtime. Here he is in vest, b Gro and sleep bag at bedtime.

Ikea today. Crazy. We decided to get the wardrobe interior stuff for our wardrobes. Great idea, but when it comes down to it is complicated and confusing when you are doing 4 wardrobes. And you have to kids with you.

Anyway is over now and I won the last two purple cushions in the store!

Ad we are still smiling.

Just.

Have also just seen the major value in Pyrex dishes with glass lids. We ate outside, managing to save food from flies, then leftovers straight in frigde, defo a bonus when you are extra to a field of cows.

PP I fashioned larger fleece liners for my bamboo nappies so they were nappy shaped and wrapped around the waist too as I think a damp waist must be horrid. I think if you go baby, fleece, microfibre, bamboo and bamboo booster/s, and wool. If that does not work, sposies!

J has been wearing a T shirt and leggins, with a cardi if out, at night he is in a vest with a 1 tog sleeping bag and a blanket tucked in, a cellular cotton one. It is what the little love likes.

He has had the best day ever. Slept all night, woke happy, 3 hour nap at lunchtime, eaten small amounts, but no discomfort noted at all with solids, and his skin is clear. If only it were like this more often. He is still awake though, but he is happy with it Smile

The broth is cooked, and pretty vile tbh Grin I know better, I really do!

I'm here! Wasn't too bad having MIL here! I do like her! I just didn't want to put a bra on or brush my hair!! Lazy cow!

So after the first step 2 days ago, we had 3 little steps twice tonight. MIL was encouraging him . He doesn't need any fecking encouragement!

Think MIL is feeling a bit overwhelmed with O's dietary requirements! She keeps asking questions! I've told her not to worry, I will always make sure he has everything he could possibly need when he goes! And a list of emergency 'can have' foods if she is desperate Grin.

Tonight O had 2 rich tea fingers. Scoffed them both. I think he liked them Grin.

Currently watching Fall Out Boy playing at Reading (on the telly!) and reminiscing about my crush on Pete Wentz Grin. I so want to see FOB live one day... ahhhhhh.

Fs head, in the car seat, on a hot day, would possibly rival O det Grin

McVities squashed fly biscuits fruit shorties, which are dairy/soy free, are met with mooing sounds by F, a vair big hit.

I don't know how you reusable-nappy-mummies get your head round all this bamboo, fleece shizzle. I read what you write, and sort of nod sagely, whilst aware that I have no clue what you are talking about Grin

Det has MIL agreed to baby proof her pad a little bit yet?

Fuck off VQ Angry

Wink

Hmm, i have a fleece lined WN that he wore this afternoon - and finally napped in - so might try that. Then sell the entire stash to fund more. It's always the bloody expensive ones isn't it! Although Holdens Landing customs (given by a friend who doesn't need them apparently) weren't great either, but that was minus the fast-absorbing mf...
