vq I too vote for the trout over the salmon

pass I went for a blue and khaki stripe. I am quite staid when it comes to coats as I worry abut them dating so normally go more classic so the stripe is quite excitement pour moi.

pr ok, we'll, time to ones self then!!! Grin

chasing I agree with bp I lived on my own for 3 years in a little cottage in a little village in Leicestershire and it was brill.

DH has sprained his ankle. He says he is not use to all this manual work, which is true. Anyway I think is dry sore. It must be because he said something and he normally is quite stoic. Luckily they are latexing the concrete today so there is not a lot we can do except for a final hoover ( although I imagine you could sweep and Hoover concrete forever and keep getting dust off it.) anyway I can do that. And it's a quick trip to ikea tomorrow, so quite a chilled out weekend.

Anyway ...medical types. Do I just make him rest it on a pack of peas as much as poss? Ibuprofen? Do I need to strap him up . Wink

Pennie massive hugs. Hope you are home.

Sophia, RICE rest, ice, compression, elevation. The house is just beautiful. Am not jealous one bit... Nooo sire.

I will let L have girls toys if he wants them. Not sure I will actively buy them though. To be fair 99% of what he has at the moment is completely gender neutral.

Think we are in regression. I am struggling with the wake ups.

Nothing like a screaming toddler tantrum to start the day. Hopefully she's got it out of her system now, rather than starting as she means to go on!

I absolutely HATED living on my own. As a single parent I hated it. If I had just been single and able to leave the house of an evening or do what I wanted it would have been totally different. Being a single parent is very different to just living alone single. When the only adult company I got was um, none, it was very isolating.

I would take DS to school. Then sit alone all day as I had nowhere to go and nothing to really do. Then I picked him up from school. And at 3.30pm I could lock the door for the night as no one else was going to be walking through it that day.

Like I say. Total isolation.

It would have been much easier with a baby. I've made lots of new acquaintances through baby groups etc and the quiche Grin. But when you have an older child you don't have all these groups for you to go to to make friends. I was honestly so utterly miserable and isolated. And how do you make new friends? I had to find odd ways of doing it! Eventually I did. But very lonely along the way.

O will have. Doll and pram. Probably for his 1st birthday. I don't buy in to boys and girls toys. I don't buy anything pink or blue though. And I wouldn't for a girl. I just buy nice bright gender neutral colours. Nothing wrong with blue or pink I just don't particularly like them. As they get older they get their own preferences anyway. While I have a choice ill stick to what I like!

By the way if anyone spots a nice colourful basic kids pushchair for under £20 please let me know! I had a navy and yellow umbrella one for DS1 and he loved to put his teddies in and push them along!

Pennie I hope M is okay. Hope you are all home and sleeping. :)

Det I don't buy pink or blue either, although L wears the blue stuff we are kindly given except jeans. I hadn't thought of a pushchair but that's a great idea. Found this on eBay if of interest?

pushchair

Talking of which I am looking to get an umbrella fold stroller for our next trip to Ireland. Any recommendations? Bounty are doing an offer on an Obaby one which is quite cute but has mixed reviews. It is £60 which is about my limit.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten PR's sweary thread-ending prerogative. Wink

Morning quiche! How has everyone been? Master e doesn't like rice crispies (no idea what else to try him with!) but has said 'at' when given a toy twice today. But then not any other time, ah well! Still he must be getting the idea.

Hope everyone had good night?

bplp I read your post last night about holding the old lady's hand, and this morning filled up when e held my hands to take a few steps. So very fragile, and more precious than I ever understood before. It even made me love and appreciate his whinging this morning that won't last, lol

pass I am listening to starsailor alot at the moment.

Thanks for the new Fred stunt

Oh no pennie how are things now? Hope you're home with a well lo, thinking of you

det I thought of getting e a little pram for his birthday but the looks I got from dp's dad....not sure it's worth the arguments :/

Tis raining today and I really really need to get out of the house. I am so lonely and so very bored.

I have the oBaby atlas JJ I like it. Small, compact, lightweight, lies flat - does everything really. Hard to steer with one hand though, so relagated to the garage for the moment, til DD1 can be relied upon not to bolt!

If anyone knows of a lightweight stroller that is easy to push one-handed I'd be grateful :)
