I think it is the top teeth that are the real fuckers. That's what we've got going on here. And that's without him bouncing on his head.

ValiumQueen · 22/08/2013 17:47

Detective I mean that his reaction of vomiting everything is pretty bad if all he had was some bread with butter on. I guess I imagine a young child with an intolerance to have a refluxy sore tummy day rather than proper vomit if exposed to a small amount. Was there a rash at all?

ValiumQueen · 22/08/2013 17:50

That sounds horrid Pennie (((hug)))

ValiumQueen · 22/08/2013 17:51

MissMummy1 · 22/08/2013 18:19

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2013 18:42

Chasing and Det

VQ he's doing it in his own time and way Brew

PR sorry, it's the way you tell them...

Det R gets a bit heavy on my front now for long periods, are you ready to try back carrying yet?

Good luck with KISA Chasingnot jealous at all of going out for a drink, oh no, not me

Pennie*

Congratulations MM

Quiet morning then visited a friend and her madhouse 5 teenagers this afternoon. R was borne off in triumph by bigger kids. I have been cramming as much daytime milk as i can into him to try and stop the night wakings. He also hasn't slept as much during today - 9-9:30, 1:15-2 and 4:15-4:45. Fingers crossed. This has to pass sometime, right?

Oh, and i found clubcard vouchers so have wine :o:o

ChasingDaisy · 22/08/2013 18:47

Well done MM Thanks

Oops, forgot I updated FB but not here. Long story short: Oscar fell off the bed and banged his head. NHS direct said go to A&E. I had no way of getting there. Text him asking if by any chance he wasn't working today as I need to take O to hospital. He text back asking for my address and saying he was on his way. He was supposed to be on his way to work Hmm Smile He stayed with me at the hospital until I felt guilty and told him to leave! He offered to give me cab money and squeezed my hand before telling me to make sure I let him know what happened. He then text me later saying he could free up his evening and come over tonight. He is coming round at 8. Oscar is all fine. I have just stopped shaking. And that wasn't a short story after all Grin

TheDetective · 22/08/2013 18:50

There is a fb update on Chasing's thread to explain!

VQ Ah I see! No, no rash at all, he was red, but from throwing himself about on a hard floor, rather than the redness we got the time he had tomato Hmm.

Well, I won't be trying dairy any time soon! And I am glad he will now have an allergy test in 2 weeks.

Which reminds me. His test appears to be a blood test. Now, I haven't googled, so forgive me if I am wrong - but surely a blood test would be pointless if he is having a diet free of suspected allergens? although the milk might show up now!!. Would have thought a skin prick test be more appropriate?

I will go and google.

TheDetective · 22/08/2013 18:51

Cross post Grin.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/08/2013 19:29

vq I was going to comment earlier on your comment about J not doing what the others do yet. You can guarantee that he is storing it all up and at some point there will be something which sets him off. LO was well behind everyone else on this thread a few weeks ago then, within days of each other, commando crawled, properly crawled, stood up, started cruising a little, clapping and waving. It was literally two weeks of going from a useless scrap to being able to do all kinds of clever things. Like you I have given her very little floor time, mainly due to DD1 but also because despite daily hoovering my floor is never, ever clean and I caught her testing her pincer grip on dead flies this afternoon, I don't think she ate any but can't be sure .

Anyway my point is that you have nothing to be sad about - he has been dealing with illness and intolerances and reflux and all kinds of bollocks and, you never know, he might be a lazy one anyway. DD1 was, until she suddenly wasn't - she only really started moving when she was at the CM and wanted to follow the other mindee about.

So don't worry, don't be sad, he'll get there in his own good time and for the moment, to be honest, lack of mobility when you're already stressed is possibly a blessing in disguise. Very soon he'll be tearing around and your DD2 will be taunting him and you'll be reminiscing about when he just sat there.

ChasingDaisy · 22/08/2013 19:40

VQ I agree with PR. I have a real soft spot for your J. I can tell he is going to grow up into such a wonderful man Smile

GTbaby · 22/08/2013 19:40

I just got lo ready for bed. In fresh nappy for the night. And 1min later he does a massive poop. Argh.

Chasing your dad is still away right Wink hope O is ok. Hope you still wear your outfit at some point.

ChasingDaisy · 22/08/2013 19:47

Ha, yes GT my dad is still away but if he thinks he is getting a shag tonight he will be disappointed Grin Oscar had a big afternoon nap and is now back to normal. Has been in bed for an hour without a peep.

Lily311 · 22/08/2013 19:57

vq j is not behind, he is developing at his own pace.o doesn't move, crawl or cruise. She is too porky. But I'm not worried.

Question quiche. I'm giving all my baby things to my friend, they are expecting a baby at the end of sept. he now said that they bought me a ticket for a special train ride for tmrw eve and said I could take O in a sling. O goes down at 7 and I'm not sure I should wake her, put her in sling and go out. Both babysitters are busy. My parents are having my sister's kids and it would be too much for them to have one extra. I would not leave her with my brother and his wife as they would mess her routine up. Now shall I say it was too late notice and I can't go for it or shall I just take O with me in a sling and risk a crappy night. I feel like going but than I feel like not going because of O. What would you do?

Passmethecrisps · 22/08/2013 20:02

Evenin lovelies.

What a day everyone has had!

VQ I was thinking about you earlier and I was reminded of a woman at a toddler group I went to. She told me that one of her boys didn't walk until he was almost 2. He talked beautifully but when asked about walking he would reply "no. I don't want to". Then one day he just got up and walked. No toddles, no pulling up and practicing balance, no cracked head - he just walked. J might not have had much practice time with his reflux and endless colds but I would bet that he is sitting there working it all out. He will do it all in his own time. I do recognise your sadness though that so many things seem to have stood in his way. Having you as his mum must make up for that though.

What a day in the chasing household! Cripes and blimey from the scary to the very exciting! Live not a date thread? Or is this now a date?

Hi-5 mm! Meant to text you this morning. Arse and fuck. Ach well - glad it went well. What's this about the date being pushed back?

Flies must look a bit like raisins to a small person Pr.

Hooray for tesco vouchers and wine pp.

I know there was lots of other stuff.
I know ditsy was here. And penny. Has kyz been on today? bp? det was here and pikz. Hmm. Would a good summary be

"Fucking teeth!"

I checked in at lunchtime today and was thinking how rubbish people's days were and how hard people were finding fucking gnashers.

Then I got home. DH arrives with p, plonks her into my arms and says "well. There was a bit of an accident today"

Basically the CM was dropping various children off the school with p in her arms when a wee girl shot out in front of her pushing a toy pram. CM trips on the pram and takes the full weight of the fall on her arm trying to curl p into her. Cue mass hysteria from everyone. Everyone apart from the mum of the wee girl who was apparently seen running away Hmm Anyway. P was shocked but completely unhurt. The poor CM was beside herself and called DH. DH ended up staying for the duration of p's nap as the CM was so anxious that there might have been a bump to the head.

Poor woman. We have bought her some wine to thank her for protecting P. her arm is very badly bruised.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/08/2013 20:16

pass and that. Is why I could never be a CM. that and the fact I hate looking after children I would hate myself if there was an accident. Kids break bones all the time and wouldn't you just hate to admit to a parent of a mindee that their kid had broken an arm in your care, for example?

Lily I would go.

pass LO has never seen raisins but I think everything looks like food to her, or, at least, worth putting in one's mouth

chasing must be on her non-date now. Woooooooh!

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/08/2013 20:16

Quick catch up and post before I get dinner. Had a great trip away but is lovely to be home and not have to hide in a dark corner whilst the girls go to sleep.

vq E doesn't crawl or cruise either. She sometimes shuffles slightly backwards on her tummy but doesn't get very far at all. I'd say she is currently 2 maybe 3 months behind where DD1 was in terms of development. I am quite enjoying the fact I can put her somewhere and know when I come back she'll still be in the same place except when DD1 moves her around. J will get there.

lily If I were you I'd go. But then I've never particuarly been a slave to routines. If you can face a potential unsettled night the next night then go for it.

chasing Sorry to see of your shit day but glad it turned out well, in more ways than one. HAve fun tonight.

mm congrats on the interview.

Det Hope O is ok after his vomming sesh.

sophia sounds like a lovely days shopping. Your house is going to be so stunning and homely.

Ah there was loads more to say but I've forgotten it all! Stomach is calling, be back laterz.

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2013 20:21

Lily i would apologise and ask for a rain check. But that's based on my experience with R who would find the disruption really difficult. They may not understand now, but they will in a few months. Can the ticket be changed?

Pass that sounds scary, what a lovely cm and what a bitch the mum is for not checking they were ok!

AIBU? Next door but one's 12yo and her older looking mate are cycling (on adult bikes, they're big enough) around outside and shouting - they've woken R and not for the first time. They're on the terrace which gives them about 20' square, surely they should be either downstairs in the empty, closed public car park or across the road in the park? There are at least 3 adults living in the flat (12yo's parents plus 19yo sis with 1yo baby) so no hypothetical lack of supervision Hmm

I'm pleased they're exercising and enjoying the weather but I've had to shut R's windows and we're not the only young family - they have a 1yo and next door have a 6yo and 3yo, the 6yo must be in bed because if she weren't she'd be playing out too!

TheDetective · 22/08/2013 20:27

Chasing reports he has arrived!

However both are showing as online on my fb list! Get offline Wink Grin.

I am camped next to mobile, and laptop. Even made DP put O to bed Grin.

Pass Poor P, and poor CM. She must have been so upset, and P very shocked! Wine is very thoughtful of you!

O seems okay, thanks Eliza he's gone to bed, little difficult, but nothing new there! However he is VERY clammy, so will be keeping a close eye on that. Confused

Pidj No, we haven't progressed from anywhere but front! Sad bugger me wants to keep him where I can kiss, natter, and generally get on his nerves Grin. I may try it soon though.

Kyz · 22/08/2013 20:37

Evening all. Hope everyone has survived our least thankful Thursday!

Good stuff that people liked your sling detective :) poor o, glad he's ok though

pr it scares me to death, he is not small and the chair his booster seat on has straight down legs and dp stood behind him today and he just launches back and topples the chair easily. I am now on the lookout for something else as I can't leave him without someone right by him even for a second. I am struggling to sort his food out or nip for a wee with nowhere safe to put him now :/

pennie that sounds really shit :( hope lo is better soon. Seems many of us have had really crappy days today! Surely means we all deserve a proper good sleep tonight?

vq I too agree with pr, and chasing, I have a soft spot for j too

chasing what a lovely guy! :)

lily. I think I'd go but I know I'd stress about having a shit night so I'm not sure

pass I'm glad p was unhurt, bless the cm, poor lady. Ffs at the mum running off!

Congrats mm on the interview!

pp I'd be mega pissed off too tbh

Am gonna lurk/post and piss you all off waiting for chasing updates from our lovely detective
