God ladies I had the night from hell! Was bad yesterday but tonight topped it off and dh on nights so not here to help and asleep now ( can't make him wake up he did 10-7) kitten hasn't had milk for the past 5 nights and she's not crying but keeps grunting and moaning as she's throwing herself round the cot, I had to go in 3 times just to straighten her up, hard to describe how she's got herself but once straight she was fine but it was every hour after 12 I could hear her, I'm worried she's not sleeping enough or well and I'm not sure what to do, it's hard to describe because it's not like she needs comforting or food it's like a urgh urgh I'm stuck protest?! To top it off dd1 woke twice 12 and 5:30, why? No idea, I just want to cry the feeding was easier then this as atleast it was just 1/2 wakes all night, will add she is quite vocal/ grunts in the day aswell

FrussoNeedsGin · 09/10/2013 10:42

Can I put it down to something in the air? 2&3 wouldn't sleep last night either.
Ds is getting himself width ways across his cot, and then moaning about it, even though he could quite easily move himself. Hmm
If she's vocal during the day too could she be testing her voice? In a "if I shout will mummy come way?" Or is she just getting louder so you're noticing it more?
Too hot or too cold?
Too wiggly?
Needs a poo/fart?

Actually I really don't know what to suggest, Sad I have notoriously bad sleepers. I can offer lots of sympathy. which is crap when you need practical advise I'm sure she is getting enough sleep over the 24hr period, it's just not when you want her to. And some babies/children/adult need more/less sleep than others.

peardrop2 · 09/10/2013 18:21

Kitty ~ is she teething? Baby pear is teething terribly at night and is waking up for no reason. I put some bonjela in his mouth and rock him back to sleep fairly quickly. Maybe worth a try tonight? But don't rock...you don't want to go down my road!! Wink I have heard that teething takes away their desire for food as it can hurt their sensitive gums!

peardrop2 · 09/10/2013 20:31

So, I was wondering what high chairs you're all thinking of buying or already have and recommend? I've heard that it's not worth spending a lot. Can you believe we're talking high chairs already?!?!! Shock

AGnu · 09/10/2013 23:03

We've got a bumbo for Runt for the first little while. Calf uses a Fisher Price Healthy Start booster seat which is really good, although the washable tray is way too easy to remove & used to get pinged off regularly! Hmm He sits in it at the table now & will continue to use it until he's comfortably big enough to sit on a proper chair. Without getting down & running away! We'll be getting another one for Runt I imagine!

Frus do you happen to know if there are any DVDs designed for young children which have a person signing the stories? I used to love watching The Hoobs in the mornings when they'd do it... It was interesting watching the poor person trying to sign their made up words! Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 10/10/2013 01:11

I was just thinking about what to do for M when she reaches high chair status. I was thinking something like this since we will be short a kitchen table chair when she can sit at the table.

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 06:57

Agnu the hoobs are still on, we are watching them now on channel 4!
Pear I've always found the cheepest the best which is from ikea ( they only have one) which lots of mummy places favour, they are simple plastic with removable legs and are really easy to keep clean
Frus, yes I think she had all that list, she was struggeling to do a poo all day and I think constipation played a part in the grunts us getting herself stuck side ways, she may well be teething too as hand is always in mouth Hmm she definatly hadn't had enough sleep though as the day before shed slept badly 3,30 mins max, then the bad night, yesterday she spent almost all day asleep, she's never done that and was very cuddley! Last night w

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 06:59

Kitten sent my last msg!Grin
Last night was very similar, I had to go to a further away room with the doors open so I couldn't hear every noise at midnight or I'd be for for nothing and dh on nights again so I have to take them out, she never cried again but the night was full of grunts

FrussoNeedsGin · 10/10/2013 07:34

agnu yes there are. I'll get back to you with a list. The gruffalo in sign is amazingly funny

Ds wanted to sleep Attached to me all night again. Maybe he's getting cold?

FrussoNeedsGin · 10/10/2013 07:35

Strikeout fail Grin

FrussoNeedsGin · 10/10/2013 09:56

And I think there are signed children's programmes on very early at the weekend. But can't remember which channel or what time very useful me Grin

AGnu · 10/10/2013 10:57

We don't have a tv license anymore so no live tv for me! Sad Our PC is nearly dead so I'm wondering if I can convince DH that we should buy a laptop as a family present for Christmas & I can put DVDs on for Calf. I want to get ones that will actually be useful though - we've got a welsh language Spot Smot DVD & I'd love for him to see signing from a young age so it's not something unusual, even if I he doesn't understand much of it!

Frus will look at those links, thanks!

I feel dreadful. This ridiculous bug is lingering. I'm not being sick anymore but my stomach hurts when I eat so I don't, I have a headache & a temperature. I just want to feel normal again! Sad

peardrop2 · 10/10/2013 11:24

Kitty ~ when I looked on the ikea site they had quite a few to choose from [http://m.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/functional/10369/18715]

Bring ~ I can't see your link Hmm

peardrop2 · 10/10/2013 11:24

m.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/functional/10369/18715/

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 13:48

Well I've never seen those others, you learn something new everyday, it's the antilop one, you have to get the tray separately but they are really cheep anyway

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 13:53

Agnu we bought a mr tumble something special DVD for dd1, she loves it, infact all kids seem to love him shudders they sign everything and always feature children with special needs aswell

bringonthetrumpets · 10/10/2013 14:24

Must be the country difference. Can you see this one ??

peardrop2 · 10/10/2013 14:25

Kitty ~ ahh that's interesting. I've heard quite a few people recommend Ikea but I wasn't sure which one they were talking about. I might get one of those then as I just can't be doing with spending more on a highchair. Out of interest what happens when they outgrow their high chair? Is there an in between period where they need a booster seat for an adult seat? The stokke trip trap chairs look great but I don't agree on spending £170 and I definitely don't agree on spending £70 on a second hand one on eBay!

peardrop2 · 10/10/2013 14:27

Bring ~ yes I can. That's looks nice and like the stokke trip trapp chair. I do like the idea of having something that lasts along time!

peardrop2 · 10/10/2013 14:30

I don't know what is going on today. Baby pear has taken water from his Tomee Tipee cup and he's just fallen asleep with a dummy. Madness!

FrussoNeedsGin · 10/10/2013 15:26

I was looking at ikea ones pear Grin
Has somebody swapped baby pear? That's a huge turn around for you/him.

kitty mr tumble uses makaton, which not all counties do, but it's a good place to start, although not all signs are the same as mr tumble found out when was told off for signing naughty words. Blush

bringonthetrumpets · 10/10/2013 15:50

LOL oh my goodness frus what kind of naughty words ?

WOW pear It's a miracle! With a dummy!?

Yeah, that's why I was looking into spending a bit more for the stupid thing. The boys are both in booster seats that are on top of regular chairs and we're out of chairs to hold booster seats.... so I thought M could just have her own chair to grow with her.

Eek! It's me and M's first day of prenatal apts with the new midwife I'm working with. I haven't done this in a year, I'm nervous!

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 16:33

Wow baby pear!! did you drug him mummy pear? Something on the dummy Wink??
I've not needed anything inbetween high chair and big chair, dd1 still goes in her high chair sometimes and sometimes just sits at the table, she's a little low but not enough to bother her or me, the great thing with the antelop is if you take the tray off its the perfect height to put at most tables so you just sit them at the table but in that seat, at £16 quid you can't go wrong, I've met so many people who converted to them myself included, the others with padding etc are so hard to clean food out of nooks and crannys, plus if you go on a Holliday etc you can take in the car because of removable legs etc, believe me you would regret wasting that amount of money on a high chair!

kittykatsforever · 10/10/2013 16:34

What did me tumble sign frus Shock
