Re going back to work

Get as organised as you can the night before!

Cannotbelieveit · 03/12/2013 22:11

Thanks both! Just got to remember it's only for 3 months!!! Then this next mat leave I'm definitely having the full 12 months Grin

Bakerof3pudsxx · 04/12/2013 18:25

Hmm bit green over that!

Although not over the pregnancy, pregnancy is not for me! Would rather have ten labors in a row than one pregnancy

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 04/12/2013 18:44

Hello all, just caught up.

Time flies! Mama I can't believe our Alex is nearly 1! Amazing boy. Yes we'd love photos.

Food wise Faithlet is generally happy with anything and various textures. However she seems to hate food from jars (likes pouches) and spaghetti bolognese. katy why not ask in the FB group? If it helps my friend's DS was like that and he got there over time.

birdbrain21 · 06/12/2013 10:30

cannot how was yiur first day back?!

Cannotbelieveit · 06/12/2013 19:45

Hi bird! First day was tough!!! Got home from a 9pm finish at work at 11pm!!! And was up really early today for work! Sat waiting for the train home!

Really missed being there for little mans bedtime Sad

Scan was great yesterday! New little man showing off lots and flashing his bits at us!!Grin

AmberLav · 07/12/2013 14:06

Popping back in here now that it has gotten a bit busy again!

Mama, I remember that I only found the April thread when you were about 22 weeks pregnant, and I seem to recall that you were very close to giving birth on my birthday (the 10th) which seemed incredible, as I went to Kiev to see my sister then, and you'd had Alex by the time I got home! How are you now? Has your mobility improved at all?

E is now eating from a spoon, and can manage toast well, but I really struggle to find finger foods that don't become a slippery mess! Just means I can't multitask while she eats! But she's got a good routine now, and is napping much better, so just got to hope she gets bored of waking in the night soon!

birdbrain21 · 07/12/2013 18:04

cannot wow that's hard the few times I've gone out in the evening before H is in bed I've really missed saying good night to her...can I ask what your job is 9pm seems like a late finish! glad to hear that ur pg is going well Smile

H has learnt to clap her hands Grin I always put on music and clap my hands to amuse her if she's being a bit grumpy and yesterday she started copying me, the cutest bit is the look of amazment on her face every time her two hands touch! Still not sitting up though...

Bakerof3pudsxx · 07/12/2013 18:07

How many of the babies are crawling?

My elder dc both crawled at 6months, dd is 8 months and still not got it!

I always always always put dd to bed. Luckily the latest I am home from work is 6.30

If we go out of an evening I won't go til she is snoozing

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 07/12/2013 18:29

hi all. cannot I'll be the same going back, some nights (starting at 7) and some long days finishing at 7.40 so I'll miss Faithlet :(

Baker Faithlet is crawling (and into everything!). However your other two DCs sound very early! Normal for crawling is 9 months so I wouldn't worry.

We had another successful food trial tonight - cauliflower cheese! Easy to grab, tasty and getting veg into her :)

Bakerof3pudsxx · 07/12/2013 18:38

Elder two are boys too! Don't they say boys are lazy? Clearly not!

Cannotbelieveit · 07/12/2013 20:48

I'm a makeup artist for a brand in a dept store, horrible Christmas retail hours!!

Bakerof3pudsxx · 07/12/2013 20:49

I would get so tempted to do people up like clowns .....

Cannotbelieveit · 07/12/2013 20:51

I'd love to do that to the rude ones! Wink

Cannotbelieveit · 11/12/2013 09:23

Has everyone done their Christmas shopping? x

Mama1980 · 11/12/2013 10:27

Morning,
Thanks I'm getting there slowly, I can walk unaided for a short time though I still use the crutches and wheelchair when out mostly. I'm still having physio and I actually look well again finally I'm still too thin but have managed to put on and keep on weight which is great Smile
Alex is crawling, and everywhere all the time...... What a difference a year makes! He is still taking part in the prem baby study he was in from birth hoping that the treatment they gave him in utero and after delivery and the results they collect can in some small way help others in the same position. I am going to send some 1st birthday pics into nicu for their baby wall too, they meant so much to me last year, to know there was hope. Grin
Christmas shopping neatly all done here, I may have gone completely overboard but after last year......well I don't care lol! My babies deserve to be spoilt.

Cannotbelieveit · 11/12/2013 10:42

Great to hear from you mama!! Good news on your health improving and Alex is coming on leaps and bounds. I loved seeing the pics and cards in SCBU during our stay too

birdbrain21 · 11/12/2013 19:37

mama great to hear your progress
cannot that must be quite a hard job when your pg on your feet a lot I imagine?! Hope your DP spoils you lots over the holidays.

No christmas shopping to be done here as it's not part of our religion but I love seeing town all busy and lit up and definitely enoy all the post christmas sales Wink
Finally at 8 months old H is starting to get the hang of sitting up by herself.
My left breast has been quite sore and painful the last few days, I've tried expressing milk but there doesn't seem to be much there after dd has fed. Has anyone else had anything like this as their baby gets older and eats more solids?!

birdbrain21 · 11/12/2013 19:42

p.s mama just checked on the stats thread to make sure I got the date right and HUGE huge congratulations for alex's birthday tomorrow Thanks I feel like it's my birthday coming up I'm so excited for the first of our group to have a first birthday especially your amazing little boy!!

Dysgu · 12/12/2013 00:17

Hi all - just checking. I have just scanned the posts since I was last on this thread - where did those three months go to?

And it is officially Alex's birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the little big boy!

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 12/12/2013 07:39

Happy birthday Alex!!!! Xmas Grin

Mama1980 · 12/12/2013 20:48

Hi thank you all so much- I'm going to dig out my fb password (technology is really not my thing Grin) and try to pop a post up there. Alex has had a lovely day we all have - I can't believe my baby is 1!!! There were days last year when I never imagined we'd be here happy and healthy like this.
It's been a emotional day but a happy one. Alex is getting annoyed that I keep hugging him, he's a independent one, but not so annoyed he is thinking of going to sleep yet......Grin GrinGrinGrinGrin
Thanks again for everything, I don't post very often now and am failing at fb totally but I do think of you all and your babes, your support meant so much to me.
X

AmberLav · 12/12/2013 20:52

Happy birthday Alex!

Baker - DS also crawled at 6 months, but DD is not there at 7.5 months... think boys develop faster as babies then girls overtake...

Bakerof3pudsxx · 13/12/2013 07:13

Good to know it's not just us amber! Dd can sit unaided and has for a while, she gets around by rolling, she can go quite far. Her most recent trick is flicking from being sat up to lay on her front. I had really expected her to be crawling by now but at least my tree is a little safer!
Congratulations on Alexs birthday mama. It's great to hear your all doing so well
Christmas shopping is about 90% done and 70% wrapped here! Must get on with it today

Cannotbelieveit · 16/12/2013 08:53

Christmas shopping all done now! Just a couple things to wrap! Can't wait to see what H makes of the smart trike my mum and dad got him!

Only been back at work 2 weeks now but planned to go off on may leave again on feb 15th! Finishing early (think I'm 30 weeks or so by then) but want time with hubby and H before DS2 arrives!
