Cannot - I really couldn't imagine being even slightly pregnant now, let alone thinking about going on maternity leave again! I only go back to work on the 3rd Feb! DS got a trike on his first Christmas - took him a while to get to grips with it, but he still loves it now coming up to his 3rd Christmas.

Baker - E is another roller, but she's occasionally managing to push herself forward now, so think she might just be commando crawling by Christmas!

Bakerof3pudsxx · 16/12/2013 17:24

3rd feb! I went back in bloody sept!

I do not envy cannot being pregnant and having a baby at the same time is hard work! I did it four years ago and it nearly finished me off

Cannotbelieveit · 16/12/2013 18:28

Tbh it's the travel with work knackering me as little H is so easy to look after and hubby helps out so much! Don't know how people can do jobs that involve commuting pregnant or not!

birdbrain21 · 16/12/2013 19:11

wow I am not jealous of anyone who has gone back to work already! H is an easy baby but even so looking after her and keeping the house running leaves me with no spare time...Anyway we've moved cities (because of DH work) since I went on mat leave so my excuse at the moment is I can't go back to my job because we don't live there anymore but I know that excuse won't last forever and I'll have to find a new job.

Bakerof3pudsxx · 19/12/2013 19:23

Bird I am literally constantly running round like a headless chicken! Working 25 hours per week, have dc 8 month, 4 and 5 years
Continuous stream of school stuff ATM too, fairs concerts etc plus chasing kids for homework and bloody Xmas cards!
I could easily go sleep at 8pm every night but can't as the house is slipping into a mega tip!
I would live to be a sahm! Or even to have had a year out

Cannotbelieveit · 20/12/2013 08:52

Still off sick from work, this fluey thing is terrible x haven't left the house since Saturday last week for work!

Hunter is getting better tho Grin

21+6 and have a very active baby!! Had a anterior placenta last time but this time hrs posterior and high up so can feel so much more

AmberLav · 21/12/2013 07:12

Cannot, hope you all start to feel better soon. I confess that I took advantage of the fact that my GP thought I might have developed asthma (I knew I hadn't!) to get the flu jab, as I really couldn't face the thought of looking after 2 of them with it, but I doubt I'll be able to wangle that next year...

Baker - I know I have it easy now while DS is only at nursery, it will all get more complicated when he starts school...

Bakerof3pudsxx · 21/12/2013 07:25

4 sleeps to go!

Little one has a tummy bug though! Hopefully it clears before the big day

birdbrain21 · 21/12/2013 19:20

aww hope everyone is feeling better and managing to find lots of excuses to stay home the weather seems to have been awful this week!

Bakerof3pudsxx · 22/12/2013 17:22

I think I may have a melt down

My house is a tip
I still have Xmas stuff to buy
Dd is still ill

Arghhhhhh

Jo1984uk · 25/12/2013 12:10

Happy Christmas Smile

Have not stopped in for a while, hope everyone is well..

S has been poorly since yesterday morning, she keeps being sick and she's so sleepy :-( she's loving mummy cuddles in bed at the mo, does anyone know when/if I should call out of hrs Gp?

Feel so sorry for her being poorly for first Christmas Sad

On a more positive note we did have a nice hour downstairs with her this morning, was lovely to see her opening pressies and being more interested in the paper Smile

Bakerof3pudsxx · 26/12/2013 07:32

We have just come out of a bout of sickness

I left it til day 5 of occasional vomiting and loose nappies then went to gp who said it was that bug that I can't remember the name of

As long as lo is taking fluids and having wet nappies it's ok I think but if you are in doubt please see someone asap

birdbrain21 · 26/12/2013 23:30

Sorry to hear peoples lo's aren't well over the holidays we're staying at my in-laws for the week and h has decided she doesn't like her travel cot anymore!don't really want to let her sleep in my bed every night though firstly as I don't want to encourage bad habits but also she's so wriggly I hardly slept last night!!DH is trying to resettle her at the moment hope she stays in her bed for the rest of the night!!

P.s anyone got good ideas of what we can do in london that h will also enjoy?she's 8 and a half months now sits up but doesn't crawl so no soft plays or things that she needs to be mobile to enjoy...

Jo1984uk · 28/12/2013 08:54

baker she's feeling much better now thanks Smile went the whole day yesterday with no sick which was brilliant. Got so much washing to do, went out in the sales yesterday and bought a couple of spare duvet covers after this bug! Went through so many clothes/ Muslins/ quilt covers/ towels etc!

Anyone go to the next sale? I got S a few bits, a lovely cardi for next year. Also popped to John Lewis yesterday, they had some lovely bits there too.

Anyone else using the potty with their baby? Have been doing this with S for the past 3-4 weeks and so far she has been doing really well. She now screams in the morning to go on her potty, you know she needs to go as she has wind bless her. She now does most her poo's on the potty and will almost always go wee when sat in the potty. It was all a bit accidental to be honest, I just started putting her on there during nappy change as she always wee's when I take her nappy off. She surprised me by using it straight away Smile

birdbrain have u taken little one to see the Christmas lights? I know if we were still in London that's one of the first things we would do, the lights there are amazing and I think S would love it. Im trying to think as S is also sitting but now crawling, how about the aquarium? We took S in the summer and she really enjoyed it.

Bakerof3pudsxx · 29/12/2013 08:27

I've never fully gotten the potty thing! But if it works for you then why not! Putting a baby on a potty doesn't scare me however those who dangle them over the toilet do!
Dd never wees with no nappy on, she hasn't even done it once.
Is the idea of doing it now that they will toilet train easier? I have to admit it's something I never encountered before coming on mn.
Dd loved it when we saw our local Christmas lights. I've never been to London so can't really suggest anything!
Dd has in the past week cut her first two teeth and also had a bit of an ear infection. I don't remember either of elder dc being bad with teeth but she seemed to suffer a lot poor thing. They are more or less fully up now and she had an extra hour in bed this morning so I am hopeful that today she will be happier!

birdbrain21 · 31/12/2013 11:03

Thanks for the outing ideas weve not really ended up doing to much in the end just enjoyed spending time with the family and gone for walks while the weather was good the problem with going to the lights is if we go out in the dark shell just fall asleep!

Jo1984uk · 01/01/2014 10:32

baker to be honest I'm not sure if it helps them to potty train earlier, all I know is for now it's working so we are just going along with it Smile

Happy new year to you and your lovely babies!

One of the first things I said at midnight was 'I had a baby last year' feels very strange. Lots of birthdays to come next!

Cannotbelieveit · 01/01/2014 20:06

Hi everyone. Happy New Year!

I was thinking of doing the potty thing as my mum says she used to put me on it from 6 months old and I was potty/toilet trained quite early x

birdbrain21 · 08/01/2014 21:56

Happy new year everyone Smile
We had a lovely winter holiday staying at my in-laws my sil was also there with her kids and H loved the attention she got from her cousins despite being very shy with adults. Think she must have picked up some germs though as she has been very miserable and sniffly since we got back and not her usual self Sad I would normally happily sit on the sofa all day and cuddle her if she wasn't well but I have so many things to do that I kept on pushing off till after the holidays! Been dosing her up with vitamins and using snufflebabe so hopefully she'll be over it soon!

Bakerof3pudsxx · 11/01/2014 07:31

Dd is also full of a cold

Since the week before Xmas it's been one thing or another the poor thing!

On the other hand she is not I don't think very far from crawling! Not the pulling herself along the floor kind she seems to be skipping that. Getting to hands and knees a lot but ending up on her face!

I give her two weeks!

Cannotbelieveit · 20/01/2014 19:48

Hi everyone just checking in with you! It's quiet on here now. Hope you're all ok Grin

Got Hunter's 9-12 month review tomorrow eek!

I've only got 10 shifts left at work now! I'm currently 26+2 and feeling much bigger than last time, it seems to be speeding up now at least.

birdbrain21 · 20/01/2014 22:37

cannot I agree it's far too quiet on here but I felt I've been posting too much to compensate for everyone elses quietness so I took a break for a while Wink
Was hunter a preemie? I've not heard anything about a 9-12 month review for Daisy...10 shifts isn't a lot but I'm sure you can't wait to go on leave!

What's everyones lo's up to in terms of 'milestones' I try not to compare D with friends kids but just curious where other 9 month olds are up to. D is sitting up really well by herself (makes bathtime much more fun) and is really good at picking up toys and crumbs from the floor and has also learnt to throw her toys accross the room instead of just dropping them Hmm She's not crawling yet (which makes life much easier for me) but has been doing lots of rocking on all fours and commando crawling on her tummy so I expect it won't be long...

birdbrain21 · 20/01/2014 22:40

also with food she seems to be a really good eater so far has happily taken anything I've put on her highchair tray and lots more from my plate that I hadn't offered her! Her fave so far seems to be salmon which I thought she wouldn't eat but she can't get it in quick enough!we're not such big meat eaters but I tried her with shepards pie the other day and she ate it not very enthusiastically but I gave it to her cold as I was scared of burning her and I'm sure cold mashed potatoes or mince meat is not the tastiest!!

Cannotbelieveit · 21/01/2014 05:11

Bird no Hunter came at 37+5.

It's a developmental check that most areas do. Places vary tho and some don't do it til 12 months. Lots of the babies on the fb group have had it already, ask your HV? It goes though communication, gross motor, fine motor, etc.

Hunter isn't crawling yet either but looks like he might bum shuffle as he tries to move that way! Same with food for him too? He will eat anything except tuna (tho loves any white fish and sardines so far). Grin

Mumof3xx · 22/01/2014 18:54

Hello ladies

Dd is almost 10 months now, we have no appointment for a 9-12 month check but remember getting it late on with elder dcs

Dd can sit unsupported, roll and wiggle around, sit herself up from being lay down. She can get on her hands and knees but not quite crawl.

She had two teeth. And she eats everything.
