ChaCha · 20/06/2006 07:45

Hi JJ - Welcome back :)

Have just called the coach company and have been told that I'll need to 'dismantle' the Carrera and seat LO on my lap!! [groan] Just hope he gives me enough time to faff with it and get off the bus...eeeeek!

Tired this morning, woke every hour with streaming eyes and nose. Who else co-sleeps pls? Want to ask a few questions.

Diege - As for photo's (LOL at you and Bear) am sure I'll be the same. I'm sure that will be around the time I need to find a loo! x

ChaCha · 20/06/2006 07:46

I must have got it wrong. Surely LO needs a seatbelt?

tessasmum · 20/06/2006 08:09

Quickie here as need to get the day started if we are to make it on time! Just handed Ash the Camcorder case to keep him occupied whilst I type Blush

Brownie - sorry your mum is still having a hard time, sending plenty of good vibes from here. Agree with Diege that having Union rep there can really help but understand her feelings about going back to work too.

ChaCha - sorry, no idea about coaches and LOs, don't even think they have seat belts.

Absolutelely no indication of tooth till I put my finger in his mouth! Hope it continues like that.

Jen - not getting much sleep here though its not all Ash, toddler's wailing for things at stupid o'clock isn't helping either!

BEKS - couldn't stop Tessa joining in even if I wanted to. I just need to be sure she doesn't think about wearing her mermaid outfit, it would be a nightmare on the Tube!
Can I be the crocodile please?

Nova - sorry you aren't coming, I haven't had a meet-up without you. In Tessa's eyes you are the 'lady with 1 baby in her tummy' as opposed to Golden Grin

See some of you later

novadandypowder · 20/06/2006 08:37

Diege · 20/06/2006 10:06

Morning!! Most of you are probably getting ready for meet if going, but thought I'd write quick post from office Smile.
JENJAM: don't panic!!! Libby sleeps fine, and (touch wood) is for now at least a shining example of a Gina baby come 6.30pm. She goes down then, awake, sticks her thumb in her mouth, then if out for the count till about 6ish. Early, but can't complain. The problem, as I think TESSA and others can contest, are the toddlers!!! It seems that however good a sleeper your baby was, once they hit 2's and upwards, they enter a whole new phase and can't be 'gina-ed' anymore!! I am a big advocate of CC (though I certainly don't enjoy it), but while I should be doing this with dd2's night wakings at present, if I let her cry longer than 2-3 mins, Libby wakes up and we've had it Sad. A catch 22 really, so just try to remain as calm as possible and take her back to bed. Really feel for you with bad sleeps on holiday - the worst I think because you have your itinery etc!!
Well, hope everyone has a good day, and look forward to hearing how the meet went!!
Oh before I forget NOVA, I guess I could technically make the grumpy women thing (I certainly qualify at the moment!!) as I will be in London from about 6ish on Thursday, but suppose I would feel a bit odd on my own, PLUS knowing my geography the Lyric thatre could well be miles from the Thistle Euston!! If it happens to be round the corner, let me know Grin

Rodeo · 20/06/2006 10:16

Morning :)
Oooh Diege - you've got to go! Thinking if there's any chance I could get down....hmmmm.....
Jenjam, great to see your post :) Sure Finn will settle down soon, LOL at dh on monitor!
Chacha, have stopped co-sleeping now, stopped at about 6 months, Jess just get too big and wriggly, and I kept getting my hair pulled and stabbed by little feet!
Got to pick Joe up from playgroup early today as he's got a eye appt at the Childrens Hospital, he's already failed 2 clinic ones unfortunately so they're giving him a full eye-check today. Better do a quick tidy first! Have a nice meet-up ladies, speak later x x x

Diege · 20/06/2006 10:38

Good luck with hosp appointment RODEO!! We have to go regulalrly with Jasmine to to eye clinic, and know how long the waiting can be! (the busiest clinic in our hospital so we're told!!).
Hey it would be great if you could come to the show!! Twin beds in my room too so I could sneak you in!!!! (just humour me with my rambling, crazy plans!!)
Right, must do stuff or I'll get the sack!
Diege Grin

browniechick · 20/06/2006 12:23

Hey all - thanks for all wishes for my Mum - she certainly needs all the positive vibes she can get at the moment - have never seen her like this and it breaks my heart Sad
Nova - bugger, I wish I lived in London now! (even tho I can't stand the place! Smile) cos I would love to see GOW - have heard such fab things about it! Damn - now if only I could get there......perhaps if I think Happy thoughts, I could fly there?! (Or does that just work in Peter Pan!?)
Rodeo - Good luck this afternoon at Eye clinic, hope it all goes ok.
JJ - good to have you back Smile
Where did WrinklyTum go? And what about you Titney - are you still here? We don't bite, honest! Wink

Mum is having a meeting this lunch time with her Union Rep - so will know more later, it just gets me so worked up - it's the last thing she needs given her health probs anyway Angry Luckily she joined the Union, so that she could get this stuff sorted out properly - hate to think what would happen if she hadn't - Will not get wound up again, will not get wound up again.....

Hope all those meeting up today have a good one (again, very Envy of all of you - I will eventually get to meet someone off here!! - won't I???????.........Purlease???!!!!! [sad beggin emoticon!]

Brownie Smile

BEKsmum · 20/06/2006 20:33

Hi ladies.

Chacha, Tessasmum & Londoner (if your lurking) it was excellent to see you all today. What great park to meet in and Ben thought Tessa was just fab.

For those of you who haven't met Chacha she is lovely and just as you'd imagine and of course most of you have already met tessasmum so know how great she is.

The boys were jsust to die for today, Zayn is delightful and watching him thrash his arms & legs about wore me out, he is certainly going to be a handful when he is on the move Smile Ash just has to be the most chilled out little man ever and is such a smiler. I've posted pics for you all to see on the site.

GG you cheeky monkey Grin Grin Worryingly I've now been roped into help at the school fair on Saturday, the way I am at the moment I'll either go along on Sunday or turn up as it finishes Grin
Nova do I get extra tickets then for plugging the show without realising your dh was involved? Wink Got to say it is a great show and if any of you can go on Thursday you will laugh till it hurts Grin

Brownie hope your mum got on ok today, bosses can be a real pain the A can't they. Hope she finds a way to get the better of him.

Right I'm off to post pictures and look for drywalling for my dad - what an exciting life I lead Smile Hope you all enjoying the football - can you believe my parents have gone to Ikea tonight, they'll probably get pelted with meatballs if Sweden lose Grin

Rodeo · 20/06/2006 20:42

Hi!
Hope everything was lovely at your meet-up today :) Looking forward to the goss and the pics!
Brownie - How did your mum's meeting go? Hope it was a help to her, wish her loads of luck tomorrow, hopefully her rep may poke her awful boss in the eye with a pooey stick
You know Diege, I nearly took you up on your offer but Thursday is the night dp works late and I've got a meeting at the Juniors (Bella goes up in Sept Shock). Would have loved to. Bugger.
Well Joe had his eye appt, rather strange news - they say his vision in each eye is different, one of his eyes is normal and one is better?! They're not sure why, they say it's not really a problem and he's got a review in 2 months. So he's been telling everyone today "This is my normal eye, and this is my super eye"!
Went to see my gran too, who is still gravely ill, has pneumonia again and is really weak, but she managed a smile and showed me her rosary beads :)
Right, off to scoff some stilton and crackers!

Rodeo · 20/06/2006 20:45

PMSL Beks!! Pelted with meatballs!! Grin Haha! you are funny!! Glad you had a lovely day, off to look at pics........

Diege · 20/06/2006 21:02

Lovely piccies girls Grin. Looks like you picked a good spot, and avoided the rain we had up North hopefully!!
RODEO: glad the hossy was ok. Wow, wait till I tell Scarlett that Joe has a bionic eye!!Grin. We must try for a MeadowHall meet-up again soon; have a few days off work before Jasmine breaks up, so possibly mid-July???
LOL at your parents BEKS Grin; should be quiet there though, a good idea really!!
BROWNIE: any news about your mum? I'm a strong believer in karma (where is she by the way??)and am sure that the boss will get his comeuppance (sp??)at some point;it's rare that people like that don't.
Well, on that miserable note, back to the footie!! Not a huge fan, and a Welshie too, but still find myself supporting England Smile.

ChaCha · 20/06/2006 21:41

Hi girls,

Had a lovely time at the park, home half an hour ago and am well and truly shattered! Have treated myself to some popcorn and DVD on way home, just bottles to make up and time to relax.

Beks, Londoner & Tessasmum - Was lovely to meet you all. Everyone just how I imagined them and nicer. Beks you didn't have a minute to yourself but how lovely it was so see both Tessa and Ben running over to plead your presence with them again in the playarea. Those boys are very lucky to have such an active mum :) TM - Great talking to you, was a bit surreal at first after having just chatted online for so long, so glad i made it, enjoyed it. That back carrier (?) is fabulous, you and Ash look v.cool. Londoner - Still can't believe you have a 14 year old!
Look fwd to meeting again soon. Elizabeth is ado
rable. Beks summed up the babies perfectly, Ash is very calm and contented a big smiler, Thomas was bouncing and smiling when not asleep. And don't believe Beks when she talks about the 'spawn of satan', Ben is a very well behaved, polite and gorgeous little man. He even gave me a hug when I left!! [beam]

Beks - Eugh! Who is the grumpy hippo in one of those pics? Wink I warned you!!

Sorry that BoB didn't make it, was dissapointing but hope to see both her and Nova another time.

Nova - How generous of you. Wish I lived in London, would have been a nice night out.

Will catch up more tomorrow. Night all x

BEKsmum · 20/06/2006 22:43

Chacha cheers i didn't think I looked that bad in that photo You looked great - enough already with the compliment fishing

BEKsmum · 20/06/2006 22:45

Chacha & Tessa I've sent you the photos let me know if you don't get them

JenJam · 20/06/2006 23:46

hello everyone. i feel done in. in case anyone was wondering what happened to me... well i had a baby about 7 or 8 months ago and things were fine for a while and then he started crawling! and then there was childcare and then the holidays arrived. gone are the days of sitting on the internet while baby entertains himself withthe baby gym - mine is on his tummy and heading towards the stairs before i can check my inbox. must get stair gates. must trade in flat for a house.

all i seem to do is do massive cooking sessions and washing clothes

i sound like my mum.

seriously i have only just sat down since 6 a.m. !

F is crawling, standing in his cot and refusing to lie down!

am sad i missed the event today. i didn't hear about it until last night. anyhoo am also trying to do some kind of routine thing again.

if i'm repeating myself please slap me

nova thanks for the very kind offer of tickets to your dp's event. i would love to go! but where can i find a babysitter ! (LOL). how are you?

i am in touch with golden - tracey you asked - she's back at work this week

also glad to hear the return of londoner!

right nighty night - going to have a quick squiz at your piccies of the day on the yahoo site then off to beddy byes for me

JenJam · 20/06/2006 23:47

i seem to have got a bit space bar happy! sorry

GarfieldsGirl · 21/06/2006 07:19
I hope the meeting goes well for her.

Rodeo - your 'pooey' stick made me chuckle! Aahh at Joes 'super eye', very cute

Love the pics on Yahoo, looks and sounds like an excellent day was had by all mummies and LOs. And a fab spot for it too.

ChaCha - Zayn looks like he's so full of energy, thats lovely. I co-sleep for most of the night if thats any help to you?

JenJam - How was your holiday? If its any consolation I have one that just stands up in cot and refuses to lie down until he's compltely zonked out at 11pm, and about an hours sleep in the day too. Are you making time for yourself?

Went to dentist yesterda, so hungry walking there, I walked into the surgery chomping on a Mars bar ! Dentist said 'ooh look, there's a root here from an old tooth', and proceeded to prod, poke, and eventually pull, , Its been there for ages, just leave it fgs! And they're South African, so can't make a fuss, they think we're wimps as it is!
GarfieldsGirl · 21/06/2006 07:21

Oh, and quick Sean update, he's started doing the shaking head thing which makes me laugh everytime. And in the last week has reached that clingy stage where he screams when I go out of sight.

novadandypowder · 21/06/2006 08:07

Chacha - what was your question about co-sleeping? I only sleep with Nat if she wakes up before 7, and sometimes during the day if I fancy a quick nap. The only problem I have (apart from being hit/kicked, having hair pulled, having covers stolen) is that she loves to bury her head in my pillow/under the blanket. If I fall asleep before her I often wake up to see her head under something. Makes my heart miss a bit everytime.

tessasmum · 21/06/2006 09:14

Sorry, NTL down last night so no photos and have to go out to dentist this morning, will get them on asap.
Lovely to see everyone yesterday and I think Tessa enjoyed it too, kept saying 'I had a really nice time today', 'I like Ben' and 'That park was great' all the way home!

novadandypowder · 21/06/2006 10:03

Added a few more pics to my album on yahoo.

Inspired by you Tessasmum, I got a back pack carrier for Nat from ebay. It arrived today and all the instructions are in German!! (mental note to self, only buy stuff from the UK)

Diege · 21/06/2006 10:07

Morning everyone .
Well, dropped Jasmine (dd1) at school this morning, and feeling awful about something the teacher said. She's identified dd as one of the ones in the class who will need extra help next year (she's in recpetion at the mo', one of the youngest), and wants me to come in next week to talk about a learning plan to cover the summer hols. Feel really awful, like I've failed her somehow in not being there after school to read/do her word box like the other mums do . She is one of the very youngest in her class, but was always way ahead at nursery. I know it doesn't matter really, and it's good that they've picked up any probs at such a young age, but felt terrible when she told me .
Well, other than that things are good. Waiting in for 300 A level exam scripts to arrive , then the marking of them starts next week!! Difficult to fit in with everything else, but the money is good, and it's surprisingly enjoyable!!
Speak later, will try and get things into perspective!!

goldenoldie · 21/06/2006 13:03

Tracy - thanks for the heads-up about the meet yesterday. I'm back at work now so a bit limited.

JenJam - no break since 6am - you want to go back to work for a break. I've been enjoying the peace and quiet and chats and cups of tea and COOKED lunches....................Mind, I will prob have to stop the lunched if I want to maintain my 9st 10lbs (not bad from the 15 stone I was just before delivery). Still want to get to 9st 7lbs, we will see. Just nice to be able to get back into all my old clothes.

Any news from LilJ?

We only have one tooth between the two boys so far. Lots of sitting up and rolling, chatting and eating lumpy food, but not much else yet.

Diege - I do the dishwasher/tap-water bottles too.

Both still going from 6 to 6 (thank goodness).

Have to say that these two are still much easier than DS1 was, in fact they are easier than DS1 now, and he is 10.........................

Had a real child-care nightmare saga, my great half day a week nanny could not do the days I work. Then when on to recruit TWO more nannies, both of whom I had to rejected before they started - one had appaling refs, and the other just dissapeared and was un-contactable for weeks at a time! Just glad neither actually started to look after the boys.

Have to say there is a lot of dross out there parading as 'childcare' - be careful ladies.

Now have an Aussie Mary Poppins who is a bit of an expert on infant nutrition, which suits me cause I'm not!

She took the boys to baby massage yesterday and a music group today.

It's just so nice to go home to happy, smiling, gurgling babies.

She keeps a detailed daily log of what the DTs have eaten, their naps, playtimes, outings, nappy-changes, and general mood and demeanor.

Embarrassed to say she told us Ezra had his first tooth coming through, we had not noticed..........

She has also asked to make a scrap book for them containing photos, details of developmental markers, hand/foot prints repeated over a period of time, and info on their likes/dislikes.

Just the sort of thing you do with your first baby, but get too busy/lazy to do with those that come along after!

Feeling very pleased with myself I presented her with a folder I thought suitable for the DTs scrapbook idea. She, very diplomatically, explained the importance of TWO folders, so the boys would have one each, ...........individuals, not always being constantly compared to each other, not always having to share everything..................errrrrrr, silly mummy, I should know that - think she has been reading my twin development books!

Anyway, suffice to say she is so good, knowing my luck, I bet she won't stay - bet she will get offered a much better job soon.

goldenoldie · 21/06/2006 13:06

Oooooooooo - Londoner - are you back? Hope so, maybe we will all come back then?
