GlaikitInAPearTree · 12/12/2013 18:28

Ooooooooh! Hope you are either singling your new DD or enjoying tea and toast after a sneeze birth!

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 12/12/2013 21:04

Oooooh nom! Only just seen your message! Any news?!

Hope you're all ok and currently busy snuggling a new arrival Smile

Kittycatcat · 13/12/2013 07:14

Eeee so exciting

GlaikitInAPearTree · 19/12/2013 19:09

Hello! Anyone around or are you all drowning under tinsel and wrapping paper?

GreenFirefly · 19/12/2013 22:39

I'm here, sat in bed hoping for more sleep than last night. Baby wakes for extra long feed, then M comes in 20 minutes later and doesn't seem to want to go back to sleep. Then tries to sleep horizontal between DH and I Hmm. Presents ire or less all wrapped Grin.

NomDeClavier · 20/12/2013 13:47

We are hosting on the 25th and 26th so my mind is totally on catering at te moment. I need to create a timing spreadsheet really, but feel very meh about it all.

Who will be watching the SCD final? I am beyond excited [saddo]

Hey folks!

Congratulations to Nom! Do share the story!

I need your advice:

F has a cold, he's pretty runs down after another term of f/t childcare so he's we've been relaxing this weekend. Had naps, snuggles, playing at home. His cough is getting better. But he's only eaten bread & butter for the last 3 days. I have offered him other things, but we're getting "I don't like it" in top whingey voice, without even trying it.

I think it's just him being picky & grumpy...
...he's just puked on me. Lush. Just a tiny cough related one, not a huge bug type one. And gone skipping up to have a bath, like he's realised what he needs to do to get his way.

Any suggestions? Tempted to just offer a meal then bread & butter only. Family Xmas will be fun given the epic tantrums he's having. At least we had practice last year!

GlaikitInAPearTree · 22/12/2013 17:52

As long as heis eating something I would just leave him to it. B has a cough that occasionally produces a small vom, I have it too, but I have a really sensitive gag reflex. Christmas isn't a time to start battles IMHO, so get through it the only way you know how, give him what he wants.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 22/12/2013 18:01

Thanks Glaikit, that's all I need - validation!

Kittycatcat · 22/12/2013 22:42

Wise words. I agree. When S is ill he wants jam sandwiches.

S's SS arrived today. Thanks Santa Wink

RegainingUnconsciousness · 23/12/2013 07:24

Mm, jam is a food group we've been neglecting! We're off to the folks for Xmas today, I'm hoping he'll start getting better soon. Surely grandma will make it all better!

GlaikitInAPearTree · 23/12/2013 11:10

SS collected from the sorting office today - Thanks Santa Xmas Wink and apologies as delivery was attempted last week! just didn't have the chance to go before today!

I'm working tomorrow then hitting the road northwards after so I'll just take this chance to say Merry Christmas to everyone here. Special wishes to those having their first Christmases. Was it four new aprilites this year? Xmas Grin

Kittycatcat · 23/12/2013 17:48

Merry Christmas one and all

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 23/12/2013 18:33

Two more sleeps! Xmas Grin The prep is now fully underway Chez TCG - cranberry and bread sauces are both made. I'll think about the rest tomorrow...
Still got a load of presents to wrap too - why oh why didn't I wrap as I bought? Every year I think it'll be alright and every year I hate it more and more, particularly as I can't get drunk as I do it this time round!

Happy Christmas Aprilites - hope those of you that are traveling aren't battling any awful weather at the moment.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/12/2013 19:06

My rule is, they can have whatever they fancy (except chocolate and sweets etc) when they are ill. Then back to the usual 'if you don't want it, don't eat it, but you'll get nothing else', when they are feeling better.

I've been to the butchers to pick up the meat today, and this morning I took the boys out to pick some holly for the table. So all in all I'm feeling quite festive. Tomorrow I'll start the food prep.

Merry Christmas to all you lovely ladies, I hope it's a good one for everyone Xmas Smile

Canberra sauce. must add to shopping list, I knew there was something missing. Grin
Had a tiring day today - walked to a friends but A seemed to be getting worse with her cold so got an emergency docs appointment. Walked up to the bus stop but no sign of any busses so decided to walk a bit. 2 busses came past but already full of grams so ended up walking to docs then home. Probably 3-4 miles in total in the cold and on-off rain. M did brilliantly running alongside the pram. I was so proud of her, no complaining even when her hat blew off and had to be rescued from the road or when a gust of wind made her run through a puddle and get wet feet. I carried her occasionally and pushed the pram one handed but I can't keep it up for long. I'm taking her out for a teacake in the morning for doing so well Grin. And the baby just has a bad cold so hopefully her sleeping much of the day will help.
Secret Santa arrived here a couple of weeks agoSmile DH has been putting the bike together tonight. I can't wait to see everything get opened Grin
Have a good inequality everyone. xx

GreenFirefly · 23/12/2013 22:35

inequality wasn't quite what I was sayingConfused Have a good ONE everyone. Grin

NomDeClavier · 24/12/2013 08:29

Why does no-one warn you about life with two?! I haven't had a minute to MN and I'm too knackered during the night feeds, although A is a very good baby!

Christmas is mostly sorted here. To be fair it was mostly sorted the beginning of December, apart from the panic buying of stuff for A's stocking so M wouldn't ask awkward questions. Not sure whether it'll really be happening though as DH has whisked M off too paediatric A&E because he can't breathe. Fingers crossed it's just a big asthma attack and nothing more sinister although he's on his sixth or possibly seventh lot of ABs this year. Stupid doctor just prescribes the same thing each time despite me saying it hasn't shifted anything.

Bread and butter and jam is an awesome meal. Like ILTMI if they're ill and they want it then they're eating and that's the most important thing.

I will share birth story when I have time to write it but it was actually really good, although I've come to the conclusion I really hate the pushing. It's such an icky sensation. The contractions and first stage I can cope with but pushing is horrid.

Daisy17 · 25/12/2013 19:04

Merry Christmas, all! Hope all is ok with M, Nom.
