Please give your baby's favourite foods so we can get some ideas from each other.

I got it from Asda. If you want one, I can post you one PR?

VQ Yes, I feel yet to enjoy O properly without being sleep deprived. Those first 10 weeks were naturally hard because he was newborn. Then it was supposed to get easier, but it just got fucking harder. Grrrrr.

TheDetective · 28/05/2013 21:44

Just take them back and swap them! Where are they from?! Asda are really good at giving vouchers for stuff I've taken back. Tesco have been utter cunts. Hmm

Next are good at returns usually too, although had an issue with returning faulty stuff last time.

Kyzordz · 28/05/2013 21:49

Evening all!

sounds like you need some hugs evil

I have a recurring dream that I have 3 sons. We will see. Congrats gt :) I would love another boy. I would love another baby, just not yet.

e had dark brown hair and it's lighter brown with blonde in it now.

Erm.

food related. ..

horsey good stuff that e didnt vom. Sounds like he is doing well and will get there

evil just keep offering different things, make sure most are healthy and n will get there :)

chasing weaning scared the stuffing out of me as you probably remember. I am still really nervous of giving e finger food but force myself to with each meal. I am as relaxed as I can be and always offer something puree style and something blw style. Today for example he had baby cereal but orange segments to suck the life out of for breakfast. Lunch was broccoli and carrot sticks with a yoghurt. Tea was pureed butternut and parsnip and some sticks of butternut and parsnip plus another sodding yoghurt.

Speaking of food I was pleasantly surprised today. Went to give e a jar of chicken veg n rice for tea because I thought I hadn't taken any cubes out of the freezer. He wouldnt have any of it so I gave him his yoghurt and dp wondered why his butternut and parsnip tasted so rank and it turns out he had defrosted them so I offered them after mixed together with a little cows milk to thin it because I couldn't think of anything else to use and he ate 3/4 of it! There were four cubes! Not bad little zordz, not bad.

He also hugged his daddy and said 'dada' plain as day. Made us cry! Very sweet!

Im sure there's more. ..

TheDetective · 28/05/2013 21:50

Okay, DP just walked in in a wet tshirt and boxers?! and said, don't put fucking banana in that mesh thing again. Fucking nightmare to get off.

Hahahaha. Oh dear!

Kyzordz · 28/05/2013 21:53

Lol the cleaning of said mesh thing was my mum's first thoughtm didnt even occur to newbie me. I got eric some plums but I'm a bit wary of giving him them so will probably use my mesh wotsit for it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/05/2013 22:05

I have never had a mesh thing but might be a good idea. O thought garlic bread was a good idea at Loch Fyne Hmm no ill effects as yet. Except for his breath perhaps!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/05/2013 22:09

Oh det we have done the electoral roll thing we signed all the forms this week.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/05/2013 22:33

gt congrats on another boy.

JJ So did you get your work share sorted? I haven't been able to keep up with the thread as much as usual so apologies if I missed your update. Hope it goes well anyway.

chasing When I did BLW on DD1 very little was actually digested in the first month or so, so don't worry. It's more to get them used to different flavours and textures and to feed themselves. O sounds like he's doing wonderfully so just continue as you are and enjoy it.

Just seen about the little baby on the news, what an awful thing to do.

It looks like we are going to lose the house we were supposed to be buying. It's gone back on the markey today. We have had an offer but it's too low. We are going duel agency with the same estate agents to try and keep inside knowledge and we of course still get first dibs on the house but it's now a race to see who can get a buyer first. My stress levels just can't take it. Have decided if we lose the house we will take ours off the market. Our house is a fab location for several good schools so we will wait till DD1 gets a place and then start again next year.

In more positive news E took around 50ml out of a doidy cup this morning which was brilliant. I know it's not much but it's such an improvement and she actually seemed to enjoy it too.

We have a nuby feeder mesh thing. I agree, it goes down a treat but they're bloody difficult to clean! It's also good for putting frozen fruit in as acts as a teether thing too.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/05/2013 22:38

Thanks detective but I'll be there in a couple of weeks and will be manically buying cheap stuff that I can't get here. I intend on visiting pound shops. I have never been in one because the last time I went proper shopping in England was before each high street filled up with them (before the recession) and judging by MN you can buy everything bar the crown jewels for a quid.

yes I am aware I need to get a life if I am planning to go to a pound shop on holiday

BigPigLittlePig · 28/05/2013 22:42

Sophia the £200 on your card is likely to make little difference - they tend to be interested in the potential for debt as well, so if you have a credit limit of x-thousand pounds, it is worth reducing that. Plus what everyone else has said.

Chasing O is doing brilliantly, and as he gets more confident he'll start to actually eat more and more.

Eliza that's fab that E used the cup. Sorry to hear about the house woes though.

Ummmmm.

Off to feed F and bed, brain fried!

Bryzoan · 28/05/2013 22:45

I think g might have chicken pox. He's had a high temp since yesterday and quite a few spots today that look like they might blister. R has had it - but her and I have bad colds. We have all been quite miserable this afternoon. Not looking forward to round 2 tomorrow. It might be lucky it's a Wednesday.

Stunt - your back doesn't sound good at all. Any way you could hand over night duty for a could of night's to give it time to heal a bit?

Mm glad you have been checked - take care.

Gt - congrats on the scan

Sleep, hugs, wine and good things to all.

Dixiebell · 28/05/2013 22:46

GT, I think I'd enjoy choosing a name for each letter of the alphabet, so every eventuality has been covered! Bit obsessed with looking at naming babies websites when pg all the time .

Bryzoan · 28/05/2013 22:48

Eliza 5l from s doidy sounds loads to me. Awesome news. Really well done.

Good luck at work jj.

Dixiebell · 28/05/2013 22:49

sophia, if you pay off the card in full each month, or only make minimum payments, you can set up a direct debit to do that. You prob know this anyway. Or maybe paying off different amounts. I use my cc for everything, as I get 1% cash back on spending, but pay off in full each month automatically so never incur interest charges.

Donnadoon · 28/05/2013 22:50

STOP PRESS Got a mesh thing here...it spends more time on the floor and is a barsteward to wash!

daisychain76 · 28/05/2013 22:56

Evening. Bad news about the house Eliza. If. its chicken pox hope its mild bryz. I can recomend baths in bicarb of soda. Congrats GT. My exxperience (with 2 ds, 1 dd) is that boys stay more babyish for longer, in a good way.

First day of half term without dh did not go well. We all got soaked, older 2 dcs got shouted at and H just wants to hurl himself onto his front or try bum shuffling, won?t just sit and play ever. Had day out
planned with friiend and her dcs for tomorrow but she?s jjust cancelled so another long day ahead...

kirrinIsland · 29/05/2013 00:49

Hope you feel better soon mm

Congratulations GT :)

Good luck at work tomorrow mrsJJ

Glad physio seems to be helping lily

Hope it's not the pox bry and if it is then hope it's mild and painless.

I am really struggling to keep up so sorry for anything I've missed

Dixiebell · 29/05/2013 02:15

Wakeup already. Ugh.

LuisGarcia · 29/05/2013 02:52

You know you're tired when you open the freezer to put the shopping away and see the fish... just lying there... wrapped up snug in a packet.... all cozy....and so relaxed....

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 29/05/2013 03:06

Crap crap crap night here. Asleep for fifteen minutes, then up then asleep for 40 kind. Fed and then sleep for 2hrs15 then awake and just fed. Asleep for 3mins and now DH settling him as hes off work tomorrow.

Passmethecrisps · 29/05/2013 03:38

Not usually here but I thought I would check out the ambience.

P randomly fully woke and needed rocking back to sleep. Woke on transfer so I am here rather than letting myself fall towards sleep just incase.

izzy sounds utterly, utterly shite.

Jealous of a frozen fish luis. You'll look back on these days with finduss fondness apparently.

Lily311 · 29/05/2013 04:58

My baby is sick. I'm guessing sore throat and tons of snots. It's been going on since we arrived, that was 3 weeks ago. I need to take her to dr. Sigh. She was up at 1.30 and I put her next to me as she kept crying, fast asleep ever since..

Going to flat today, planning to spend the night there although we will only move at the weekend.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/05/2013 06:43

Thanks everyone for advice last night. I know I should settle every month but I got in a pickle with it during the divorce and it as taken me this long to get rid of it, stop living in overdraft every month and start an attempt at saving again and I am pretty proud of myself as I don't have much disposable £ after I have paid my share of the girls and my share of bills. Bloody typical this should happen now!! Oh well.

Good night o slept till 5:30 then gurgled till I got up at 6 and showered.

Boys return today. Hooray.

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/05/2013 07:29

Good morning ladies Smile

The big kids are out today so it's just me and J, I NEED to crack on with packing, it's only 19 days until we're out of here. Eek!

We have a couple of mesh things for food but I find them impossible to clean and then the banana goes brown

I found the key to getting J to eat well is to sit him in the bumbo next to the older boys, yesterday he ate 2 fingers of marmite sandwich, cucumber sticks, carrot sticks and a few cubes of cheese, straight down by himself with no fuss. I was grossly intrigued to see 'bits' in his nappy this morning Wink

I'm finally feeling some relief from this face infection so I'm hoping to actually get some work done today.

horseylady · 29/05/2013 07:58

Morning!!! I'm back in 9 weeks. Psychologically I'm ok, just worried about him being at nursery but I think he'll be ok? He'll be in two days out, with me, in for two days and then with us again. I just need to work on his milk feeds dropping but he's currently changing his routine anyway, I'm just trying to aid shaping it round nursery!!!

gt congrats on having another boy!!!

No mesh feeder here either.
