Bring on swearing fucking Wednesday.
For the 4th week in a row, F has selected Tuesday as her special night-to-not-settle along with every other day so once again I can't go swimming Sad

LO eats rusks, and prefers Nestle purees to mine the little rascal, for want of a better word.

In finger food she eats avocado on toast, butter on toast, banana on toast, pasta, roast chicken (shredded very very very much), bread, broccoli, melon, and cooked apple pieces.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/05/2013 20:35

That's OK brockle I was unable to thinknof anything to put in a last post.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/05/2013 20:37

Oh, she will eat homemade sweet potato, carrot and courgette purees if I flavour them with butter. She much prefers thigns with fish and meat in them. She is very much a mini me.

Annabel Karmel has a great lentil and leek recipe which DD1 loved; I have yet to make it for LO as it is a faff and I am worried she will further offend my cooking by turning her little nose up at it.

Here any veg and fruit go along with rice cakes, corn carott sticks and sweetcorn rings, rice pudding, toast, breadsticks, and any fruit in his mesh handle thingy. He is a gannet.

I think like horsey is being told shall have to start reducing his milk as he still drinks close on 40oz plus 3 meals!

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU GET A BABY TO GO TO SLEEP??????

Report

Bplp I have a book called go the fuck to sleep...you could read it to her...

Report
BigPigLittlePig · 21/05/2013 20:46

On a serious note though, during the day, she looks tired, we go upstairs, rock for 5 minutes and she goes to sleep. At nighttime, no chance. Not a chance. All the rocking, feeding etc in the world won't work. Circumstances have to exactly align (sp?) or else it won't work. She has to be exactly tired enough when we begin feeding, otherwise she finishes the feed and is too awake, or nods off before she's fed enough. And woe betide us if we cock up on one or more aspects. Because then we have to wait hours until the right combination of tired/hungry rocks up again. Not sure how to change it.

I think it was Detective who, about a million threads ago, linked to a youtube recording of Samuel L. jackson reading Go the Fuck to Sleep.

It's great. You can just play that to her.

I can't be cross though as she's now wriggled aroiund on the floor and is licking the coffee table.

bplp I'm afraid I can't answer that. J is ridiculously appalling at sleep. I'm hoping for a better night tonight. Six wake ups last night was bad. He is currently on book number two so technically has had a bigger feed than usual.

Food wise we have had baby rice and pear and banana mixed with said baby rice. Oh and yoghurt but that went atrocious didn't it!

Crikey I hope teenykyz is alright. How horrible. Poor kyz and kyzsnr.

Hmm. I am feeling a bit odd about weaning. P doesn't seem to actually eat anything.

She loves sucking broccoli with the stalk hanging out her mouth
She loves nomming baby corn
She loves sooking on cucumber. She also loves stroking the cucumber on her eczema cheek.
She loves dry toast

Cereal mixed with lots of nutramigen went ok. Few spoon fulls
Roasted butternut squash seemed not to offend too much
A quarter of a plum got sucked to a pulp

Most of my purée makes her wince and shudder. She though the peach and banana Ella's kitchen pouch was ok.

I bought some pitta bread today so will give her some tomorrow with avocado spread on.

Nothing ever disappears. She never finished anything. We have only been at it just over a week though.

And she insists on sticking her fingers in the contents of any spoon which I attempt to put in her mouth.

Too much too soon I think actually reading that back. I was warned she might be dubious.

Chill the fuck out passme

We're still off the weaning bandwagon. :( Going slowly here. Going to get his sleep sorted, his milk right, and then give him a break before weaning again. He will probably be 27-28 weeks when we try again.

Think l?ve missed a fred! Apologies if there?s anything major l?ve not commented on. Still having huge sleep issues with H but last 2 nights he has done a 2 hour stretch, so fx things may be improving.

H lovees cucumber, lasagne, bread sticks, baked beans (reduced salt and sugar), crumble, spaghetti bolognese, tuna, salmon and noodles. Only thing he wouldn?t eat was butternut squash. thechick l leave skins on things like cucumber so he can hold them.

Can?t believe he is 8 months old on Thursday!!

Assignment submitted. I only need 40%. I don't give a fuck about getting the grades anymore, I just want a pass. I didn't put any effort into it. Oh well. I don't care. I had horrible headache today and only a red bull helped, it seems that coffeine was needed.

I am slow at weaning O. Purely because I am busy. So far she adores carrots, parsnips, sweet potato, yoghurt, coergette. She is ok with broccoli and fruits. She loves toast. I do a real mixture of finger food and purees but will start concentrate on weaning properly from now on. My cousin is a health visitor and she said lentils were not suitable just yet, also I should leave the bread, yoghurt and meat. It seems that the guidelines are different in Hungary.

Hope baby Elyza is better, keeping my fingers cross.
det glad that you managed to get the formula.

O is not well, she is really snotty and I think has sore throat. She had only 3 bottles of milk today so I'm in for a difficult night. Poor baby.

Thank you for those links PR, am touched you thought of me.

pass O was very much like that for the first week or so. Seems to be getting the hang of it now which has coincided with his sleep getting better (no transfer fails or wake ups so far tonight!). Maybe the cognitive processes have clicked into place.
