You were right to decline horsey. I taught someone who had significant brain surgery after catching chicken pox. He was lucky to survive.

What's the chat mm

I dressed p then gave her papaya. Mistake. Naked meal times?

My singing obviously brought you all out!

Pass we have breakfast in a vest, and tea in a vest. Lunchtime it is a case of damage limitation. But yy to finding sticky patches in funny places.

Two weeks horsey so there is a chance he will get it. Hopefully not. Sometimes even siblings do not catch it. Sometimes kids have an unexplained high fever a couple of weeks before they develop it.

YW sounds utterly delightful. Your question about feeding earlier, I have never limited bm when LO is ill. With a bottle yes - J is on max of 4 oz at a time otherwise it comes back quickly, but BM is harder to get, and easier to absorb. Have you got a thermometer yet?

Stop press!

P just drained a full 8oz bottle. In less than 10 minutes. At 1pm which is traditionally the bottle se refuses.

Blimey!

Thank you for mango advice Smile. Opted for courgette for lunch so will give it a go tomorrow.

Anyone else amazed/scared/impressed by how much their baby is developing lately? O amazed me by easily picking up pieces of slippery courgette from his tray and eating them today - he couldnt do this 2 days ago. I guess that, plus the sitting unsupported explains the sleep regression we had last week. Developmentally leaping all over the place.

Flip! Wow! Very impressive little miss P. Omeprazole working then? Any side effects?

Broccoli and cheese pasta is a hit here. I am becoming adept at the spoon obstacle course. Slalom round the outstretched hands, nip past the nose, into the mouth making sure of accuracy to go above the tongue then bring it out with a slight upwards flick to ensure the bowl is clean. For full professionalism, a quick swipe of the mouth with the spoon to ensure minimum wastage. This dude shows no sign of feeding himself though, he's too greedy - grotters if you don't shovel it in quick enough!

Yes much better to avoid if possible horsey

Here they vaccinate with the MMR against chicken pox. Hope to avoid it until then. Horrible illness.

I have deleted candy cunting crush. It's stupid. Only got to level 80 something but have realised how many hours I have spent on the sodding thing already. I have studies to do and will never get on with them while I have that stupid game.

Plus it runs down my phone battery too fast.

As for keeping baby clean, I'm not. I'm wiping her face and hands and checking there's nothing in the folds of her neck. Other than that she can stay sticky til her next bath. Otherwise it would be neverending. She doesn't get bathed every day because DH has to do it.

We didn't think about the fact there was just a shower here when we moved, so she has her bath in a baby tub on the floor of the shower. I can't manage the angle with my back issues so can get her in, and washed, but painfully, but the can't lift her safely up again as sometimes my back blocks when I am getting up. OK for me but not OK when carrying a baby. Damn horse.

DD1 is OK under the shower with one of us, but wet babies are slippery so I don't know how people shower with them. I have heard they do though.

We've got the cheapy thermometer that came with the TT healthcare pouch but didn't have it to hand yesterday. He didn't have a fever according to the OOH. But I must buy a good thermometer - any recommendations?

horsey having had one child who got pox at 5 months and one who had it at 2, I have to say it was easier to deal with as a baby. It was horrible at the time as E had so many spots but didn't suffer too badly and was easy to stop her scratching as was able to put scratch mitts on her. However I am in no means advocating exposing babies and children to chickenpox, what I am saying is if they were to get it it may not be as bad as you think so try not to stress about it. I do think they should be vaccinated against it though. It's a horrid illness.

Jonas' hands and face are cleaned but he's sticky sometimes until his evening bath! Its a bit yucky having a gunky baby latch on for a feed - my BF tops are getting sticky too!

Horsey fingers crossed on the pox. My sis got her prem daughter vaccinated as her immune system wouldn't have coped with getting it young. It's one of those diseases many folks are so blase about and drag their kids out and about with yet there are so many immuno-compromised people who it could really hurt and even the 'regular' side effects on healthy kids can be Shock Shock Shock Shock

MM Hope you're feeling better xx

I found something odd and lump like on my boob the other day. It was dried on weetabix. The stuff gets bloody everywhere.

Well done crispjunior
And go O, with all his developing shizzle.

We're a bunch of healthy individuals aren't we!? Chicken pox - I had when I was 5 and remember being throughly cross that I wasn't allowed to school. We were learning about dinosaurs and the letter S. And I missed it

Teddy has eaten baby porridge, carrot, banana, sweet potato & avocado. DS1 even tried some avocado, I'm hoping he will become more adventurous if he sees his baby brother trying new things and getting praised. Spent a fortune on Ella's kitchen pouches to take on our holiday in 2 weeks. I love thinking of the nutrients going into our babies with every mouthful, before they're old enough to insist on the chocolate biscuits, chicken nuggets, potato waffles diet that ds1 attempts to live on!

Pass O's sudden increase in milk intake was when we started weaning! I don't know what it is/was but he's back down to 4-6 oz now we aren't weaning. Confused

Well done little P!!

BPLP, you have a couple of years to swot up on your dinosaurs now then. Ds1 is obsessed, and I get 'what's this one called, mummy' at least 10 times a day when playing with his toy dinosaurs or looking at books. I have become a bit of a dinosaur expert in the last few months! Wink

I'm a bit. Um. Anal. With cleaning and food. Blush

I've got a coverall bib now but I'd still strip him down to a vest for feeding. Wipe as we go along. And a thorough wipe down at the end.

Food mess makes me go green at the gils. So I have to clean. Blush

Me too detective. I have to really focus on not wiping him after every mouthful. I like watching him explore the food but I fucking hate the mess of weaning. And the pit of leftovers that the highchair becomes. Yuck.
