He went to sleep at 4:30 as i posted, then vvvdp went to the loo at 6:45, heard him whimpering and took him downstairs - until 8:30! So i got nearly 4 hours and feel fractionally human. Which helps as I'm working tonight and tomorrow night Hmm

Any news from YW?

Thanks to all those needing them - kyz, pidj, lily etc.

wallino, in this household, being awake in the period midnight - 5am means an argument with DH.

YW hope you have been checked out and are ok.

DS has a chest infection. Took him to the GP and he listened to chest and there was no debate about antibiotics. DS kept trying to smile and chat. He also STILL has conjunctivitis, so badly that his eyes were sealed shut this morning. Another shite night but hopefully now we have some drugs, this will improve.

As for weaning - while DS has been ill we have gone back to basics and stuck with fruit/veg purees. He likes sweet potato, butternut squash, parsnip, carrot, apple, mango and pear. He's a bit meh about melon, broccoli, potato. He likes dry toast and courgette sticks as finger food. He had taken very well to yoghurt and veg puree in a cheese sauce, but I've stripped back with the dairy while he's chesty. He did not like the veg soaked in chicken juice stock which I had given in anticipation of starting meat.

Morning ladies and gent.

Sun is shining in Jocklandia again.

pp glad to hear you got a few hours in a stretch. Good old vvvdp. He might earn himself another V.

Hooray for that chasing! That is a great stretch.

That is a scary story sophia. How long did it take you to recover? Sometimes I am grateful for a GP who googles.

I might Facebook stalk YW and see how she and J are this morning. Poor soul!

Morning fuckers.

Chasing am hoping F follows suit. That is all.
PP thank goodness for vvvdp, give the man a medal!
VQ nowt to add, just hope the bugs eff off nice and soon.
Ditto madam

Once she'd settled, F slept 11-5-7, so at least she had a good stretch. She did keep waking up and whimpering though. Nappies are back to green slime, which makes me think that the taste of butter has caused more trouble than I realised. Poor little lamb.

Off to baby group imminently, hope nice/germ free/sweary days are had by all.

Oh and one more thing.

Last night, tired and cross, I growled at F "go to sleeeep". Funniest. Thing. Ever. She looked at me like Shock, then thought it was hi-fucking-larious.

Hello lovelies

OOH said virus, we only live round the corner from the hospital so took him in the pram in a grobag for ease of cot transfer. It worked a treat - though he looked very confused on our way there out after bedtime, with the dusk chorus.

He's been checked top to bottom and hasn't projectiled since 8pm yesterday - though it took two doses of his reflux meds before he kept it down. I fed him little and often between then and 10pm - unlatching him when he looked determined to tank up for the night (as we were told no heavy feeds) was horrible as he was so sad - and just cried with his hands outstretched for me my boobs. He also got good practice at drinking water out of his sippy cup Smile He was very grey and clammy it was horrible.

Anyway he only slept from 10 til 7. And despite me lining the cot with towels he hasn't vommed again. Any tips on when I can BF him normally - I'm keeping him off solids today?

I'm still getting abdominal pain and am hot and cold but wonder if I have the same bug as Jonas? Really don't fancy another trip to GP in case we catch something else so am going to see how we are after 24 hours.

Thanks for worrying xxx

Morning fuckers.

LO has regressed. Regressed right back to newborn in frequency of wakings. Up at 12, 2.30 then 6.15. Very quick the first two wake ups. 2oz each time, so I think the humidifier in the room did help a little as sometimes she wants much more than that. She's not in pain. In fact she's in an excellent mood each time. The minute I open the door she stops shouting, twists her little head round to have a look and starts laughing. 15 minutes later she's asleep again (except at the 6am wake up).

So not quite as bad as newborn, but it bloody well feels like it.

DD1 got up at 1.45 and I thought she wa going to the potty, but instead she walked round the house like a zombie calling out for her teddy. Which she had left in bed. Got back into bed with teddy and fell asleep immediately. It was almost sleepwalking. Weird.

I have a massive fuck off sweary rant about work, but I don't want to put it on here, and using facebook on the iPad is a pita, so I will do it once my stupid phone has finished charging. Buggering candy fucking cunting crush uses up the batteries too fast.

Plus it is old in phone terms. 18 months. That's pension age in phones nowadays. I remember when mobiles lasted several years. In fact I rememebr when mobiles were all just fields.

yw I don't like the sound of your tummy ache. Did they take your temperature? Did you even ask OOH for yourself? Someone will be along to slap you with the rotting maggot ridden quiche fish if not.

YellowWellies · 22/05/2013 10:24

I mentioned it to OOH and they seemed cool with the wait and see approach - DH also has grumbling tum and temperature but not the abdominal pain so really not sure.....

Hmm last night was interesting. He woke 4 times before 9.30ish. Then slept til 0030. Woke but self settled after 2/3 minutes of crying. Slept til 2.30 when he woke but didn't self settle. Settled him pretty quickly with a cuddle. He woke back up at 4 and fed. Then slept til 6.30. I poked DP to get up with him. I'm not sure what happened after that as I know I woke a couple of times and hissed and prodded at DP. The next thing I knew it was 7.30. I think from 6.30-7.30 he was in and out of sleep. He can't have been crying continuously as I would have heard him. Confused

Anyway I'm writing all the wake ups last night as due to jabs (gave Calpol after wake up 4 then he settled properly). So we will give the room switch one more night tonight then put them back in own rooms. And see......

YW glad to hear J is feeling a little better. Will you blummin' well get yourself checked though, dafty!!!

YW do keep an eye on how are you are feeling and please get checked out if you feel any worse.

Bought rice cakes for O today but they say only to use from 7 months Sad On the menu for today is mango for lunch and courgette and carrot sticks for dinner. Now, having never had mango before, how the fuck does one prepare it?

Report
Passmethecrisps · 22/05/2013 11:19

Do you want skin on or off chasing?

Just slice it into fingers.

VQ I know you said the wee man was still poorly - how are you?

Report
ChasingDaisy · 22/05/2013 11:29

I think skin off incase of nasties on it. How do I check it is ripe?

Report
horseylady · 22/05/2013 12:09

It feels and smiles ripe chasing. Soft touch but not much like. Should have spring. Unripe is hard, with no juice. Doesn't smell brilliant either.

Cousins baby has pox. I think ds a bit young for pox? Yes?

Report
Passmethecrisps · 22/05/2013 12:10

It should give way slightly when you press it. When you look at it there should be slightly flatter sides. If you cut down then sides about a cm for the middle on each side you should cut past the stone. Or just cut slices off. The closer you are to the stone the more fibrous the flesh.

Mango is delicious. Yum

Passmethecrisps · 22/05/2013 12:11

What d'ya mean a bit young? I would keep him away from poxy child if possible. Chicken pox can be nasty to the max

How is everybody managing to keep their babies clean? I put the Ikea wipe clean full bib with arms on p and she still ended up covered in papaya juice. She smells delicious but a bit sticky.

And I don't really keep him clean, just attack with a baby wipe after each meal and get slowly buried alive under a mountain of dirty washing

Report
WallinoMio · 22/05/2013 12:23

Oh and horsey I've never even had chicken pox. Have been told I should get vaccinated once I finish breastfeeding. So fingers crossed J manages to avoid it at least until then preferably longer

Report
ValiumQueen · 22/05/2013 12:31

pass sadly the days of keeping baby clean are over. I do not use wipes on the face as they can be a bit harsh. I keep a drawer full of flannels in the kitchen and use them just for faces and hands after meals, washing after use each time. Primark sell lovely ones at a good price. My first girl was and still is a very messy eater, Boo however never misses a drop. She managed with just a trough bib from very early, and would Hoover out the trough before she let me take it. I am ok, thank you for asking. Run down, but ok. If chest not better by Friday I will get myself checked.

horsey you are not thinking of a Pox Party are you? Pox at any age is not nice, and I would never intentionally expose a child as if there were complications I would never forgive myself. Thankfully the girls have had it already.

I have just slept for 2 hours! J is still in his cot asleep. I went to bed when he did thinking I would just inspect my eyelids from the inside.... I have also had my lunch in peace.
